  • The xTool D1 Pro 40W is the most powerful laser I’ve tested by some margin. It can supposedly cut up to 20mm softwood and 18mm hardwood in one pass and can engrave anything from wood, to stainless steel to slate at speeds of up to 24,000 mm/min.
    I’ll show exactly what it's capable of with some real life, hopefully interesting projects. And I’ll run through all its features, capabilities and available accessories including the rotary tool, enclosure and air pump, to help you decide if this is the right laser for you.

    I’d love to hear your thoughts on the D1 Pro 40W? Will it make your shortlist? If you have one, is there anything I’ve missed? And do let me know if you have any useful tips!

    🤞Nice job you did! See if you can review this one?the Coolook laser Creator 1 is kind of similar to this one I'd love to know more about analyzing new products.

    If you have your own gantry with a small diode laser and a router for wooden CNC work, how hard do you think it would be to adapt this laser to a non-factory gantry?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  10 месяцев назад

      I have no idea - but doubt it'd be up to any CNC work even with your own gantry.

    Have you done any testing in EVA foam? (utilizing the 40W) I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on a 40W Xtool, but need to be able to cut 10mm-12mm EVA foam.

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  10 месяцев назад

      I've not got any EVA foam. I've cut Kaizer foam (EPE IIRC) on my 10W machine which cut like butter. If get hold of some will report back!

      @@TheTechnologyMan Thanks for the reply. good to know about the EPE foam. what thickness did you cut? (using the 10W)

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  10 месяцев назад

      @@JJB123NC It was around 12mm IIRC. I focussed the laser halfway through.

    Great vid, I'm looking at buying one but only for cutting greyboard card 750 micron, any chance you tried it or will? Willing to put up the cost for the test :)

      Hi sorry I’ve not tried to cut greyboard but would be very surprised if you couldn’t easily cut it with the 40W module. If I get hold of some I’ll let you know the settings.

    So, you are saying after I mount the 40w gantry I can still use my 10W head?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  9 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry missed this question. Yes you can swap modules on the 40W gantry.

    What app did you use to scale the push stick?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  10 месяцев назад

      I used tooolkaiser to scan the push stick if that's what you mean.

    You could get a JST jumper for the rotary connector, so as not to harm the motherboard.

      Can you give us a link. I'd love to have an easier way to hook up the rotary

      I don't switch much to rotary but yes was thinking I'd do the same think I did use it more often.
