Thanks very much for the detail comparison of those 2 products. 👏 This is critical to my decision on the small business I am going to do with Laser engraving. By watching the videos related to the topic, I think there is still a lot for me to learn.
The auto focusing and dual point focusing sold me for S1 vs D1 alone. Not to mention the other things like enclosure and pass though. But great video explaining differences! Gotta use the right tool for the job. What works for me and my needs, might not be someone else's needs. Can definitely see use cases for both machines
I just followed your link and bought the S1 kit with the air purifier! Thank you for the info in this video, it really helped me nail down my decision.
You did a great job on the comparison! However, I can't help thinking that xTool "MAY" be misleading people about not needing goggles, otherwise why would the conveyor come with a pair?
how does the 40 watt do with engraving stainless and other soft metals? The 2watt ir laser on the F1 appears to be handy for that. But its limited in size, does not have air assist and is only 10 watts, (diode) Though the S1 is diode, but at 40W, will it do those metals and stainless items too??
You can do some metal engraving if you precoat with certain sprays before engraving. I have tested much of that because I mostly deal with wood, but you are right the F1 handles those things just fine.
Yes you can but you’d have to make a template to set them in so you can get an exact idea of where the files should be. The M1 would be better for something like that because it had a camera

You are so welcome!

Oh, and I guess since I'm never actually able to do this, and so missed it...
FIRST! 😂

Brotha, really appreciate that! Folks sometimes use my links but I never get to thank them personally. You rule!

Maybe because the tray has to be open for the conveyor to work which might let out laser light? I’m not sure because I don’t have the conveyor.
Perhaps, but it should be mentioned on their website.@@TheReformationWoodshop
The IR laser will also work on the S1 correct? If im not mistaken, i believe that head will allow you to engrave most metals?
XTool sells an IR module that works specifically with each machine and aren’t compatible across the two lasers.
I have the D1 pro 10w, and as much as I would absolutely love to buy the S1 10w, sadly its difficult to sell the D1
There’s several groups on Facebook where folks sell laser equipment. Maybe try that?

When doing the coasters can you lay multiple on the bed and do them all at once? If so gow many?
