    Looks good, great walkthrough in the process. As someone who assembles a lot of mdf laser cut terrain, a tip… when doing glueup with something like the top that needs to fit, glue up the same way but set your top in the piece in place then tape while it is drying. That just ensures that the glue dries and form stays for a snug fit but still able to clean put the top on and off. You can also make a jig with magnets to hold corners snuggly, I use legos 90 degree with magnets and a matching piece for the outside to hold corners without holding it too tight from a clamp or too tight of a tape up.

    If you use the kerf offset within lightburn you can fit these boxes together without using any glue

      @@redbeardengineered I'm still learning myself, but it is a simple process to calculate the kerf, & I think projects look so much neater & professional looking with no glue leaks! Keep up the good work .

    Great tutorial as usual, your review help me make a decision to buy the D1 pro. What are you using as a base underneath the wood in this video? Thanks and keep up the great videos!

    In lightburn, just select a box then an image, then use the center x and y tool. It will place the 2nd object directly in the center of the 1st. Took me forever to realize this. I was just guessing where the center is and only having a 12 inch mini bluetooth keyboard with a 2 inch touchpad for my work table (do everything out of my apartment bedroom) made it really difficult to move objects precisely.

      @@wilsonbrothers4183 I have a portable air conditioner in my room with an exhaust hose. I connect the inline duct fan to a dryer vent hose and put it through the ac hose after disconnecting it from the ac and insulate around it with a bunch of plastic grocery bags lol. During the warmer months, I have a doggie door that i dont really use right by where I have my engraver and just put the hose out that. That inline duct fan is key though.

    I see black "fadeouts" on the bottom side of the cutting edges. Im a llaaser-cutter-beginner, but your cutting power seems to high in combination with the slow speed? Wouldn't it be optimal to lower the power and cut it twice?

    I missed the kurf part. I see how you figured it out but how do you apply it? I use "Creative Space" and can't figure out how to apply the kurf.

    • @redbeardengineered
      @redbeardengineered  4 месяца назад

      I think you can set the kurf on the box generator. As far as which to use, you'll probably have to do some testing with your machine. The defaults worked for me.

    What are the differences between DXF & SVG?

    • @redbeardengineered
      @redbeardengineered  Год назад +2

      I'm not 100% sure, but I think DXF files are generally used with 2D sketches and SVG can be used with 3D.
