Dear Connor, thanks for this post of yours. Firstly, I just want to say that, whilst I am a keen user of RUclips, I hardly ever leave comments. However, there is something you said in this post of yours that really stuck me.
I paraphrase, “there is something really satisfying about figuring out what about a task makes it boring or difficult for you. And once you figure it out, to come up with ways of overcoming that challenge such that you can ultimately do that task for hours at a time with ease.”
Wow! This idea of yours has really struck a chord with me. When things are boring, difficult or time-consuming (one of my pet peeves), I never, ever stop to think about “why do I feel this way about this task? What is it about this task that makes it difficult for me?” Honestly I never think about this.
You seem to have done this several times? And I suspect your observations during such explorations have led you to conclude on such a powerful insight. I would be fascinated to hear more about your experience in this process.

Eta, this is such a lovely comment, thank you so much for taking the time to write it! ❤️
This really was the most important/striking takeaway that I got from the book. Finding out why things are dull/boring/feel meaningless and then finding a way to challenge that belief is SO satisfying.
I've really enjoyed doing these book summary videos as an exercise for myself, but honestly, receiving comments like this makes it all so much more worth the effort and pulls me back into the mindset of making videos! Than you so much!

Everything is practice. To have patience you need to practice patience. To have a good body, you must see your fitness habits as practice. I like the over all message that the process is what we need to focus on.

Ugh yeah it is so hard when you NEED to do the boring repetitive work. I think finding ways to enjoy it more, like doing tests rather than reading notes, or working with/teaching others is the best way
