      @@hlogilehlogonolo5438 Most fields require more than mere skill. But if it's chess or basketball for example than probably yes you won't get better. If it's film making or marketing than it's a different story because there are more factors at play than just skill.

      Disillusionment , oh ok so in sports like let’s say football (soccer) you won’t be able to get better than that person. If only we got taught this at a young age and ppl could just tell practice makes perfect and it’s not just talent. Great video Btw

    The most powerful phrase to maintain deliberate practice is, what I say to myself, "Be at the edge of your ability".
    You have to give your very best at every attempt, and that's key ingredient. The moment you start slipping, you start throwing.
    You must always be at your hundo💯 and then start fixing what you consider mistake/best. Find what's your best thing is at a certain thing.

      Michaels Meditations agree I am really interested in the research on expertise. It's sad it haven't replaced talent and iq yet which most people seem to talk about related to expertise.

    • @michaels-meditations
      @michaels-meditations  6 лет назад +2

      Yhea true, the books in the description are great reads regarding this topic. One talks about how IQ can help you when you just start out, but after a month there is no relationship anymore between performance and IQ. It's sad that people still think talent is a thing. I believe it helps people in a sense, they can blame talent so they have a excuse for inaction.
      Thanks for the reply's! love to hear peoples opinions on my topics.

    Yo bro great video. However I don’t know what you mean about domain knowledge and how to apply it to football. Can you explain it to me or link a video or something thanks!

    • @michaels-meditations
      @michaels-meditations  6 лет назад +3

      Hey Alim, every skill is different in each aspect. For almost every sport domain knowledge is mostly gained in practicing techniques. Try to figure out what type of skills you need, for people that attack it is shooting, so try and get as many techniques on how to shoot at a goal. For defensive players it's getting the ball and preventing a goal so figure out how you can train that. In sports I highly recommend a good trainer, it's just such a help and you can just trust his domain knowledge. Also look at other players analyse them, learn all the rules of the game in-depth.
      Lastly for football look at Futsal, it's a variation on football that can help you practice the skill very fast. It uses a smaller field and a heavier ball. The small field creates way more learning experiences in less time because you are confronted by the player more times. The heavier ball inhances control over the ball. This game is the main reason why Brasil is so damn good at football, the youth play a lot of Futsal. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futsal

      Michaels Meditations yes yes I know what you mean by domain knowledge now because I’m a winger I should learn dribbling a lot . But how would I break down the skill if it’s a part of the drill I follow a drill so I tells me what to do so how would I break that down?

    • @babatunde6936
      @babatunde6936 6 лет назад

      Btw it may be worth noting that the drill is split into three different parts

    • @ibarix
      @ibarix 4 года назад +2

      Dribling. Let's break it down. For it you need the speed, stamina and feel for the ball.
      Let' break it down more. Train speed with progressively longer sprints. Train stamina by long distance jogging or swimming. Train feel for the ball by every day juggling.
      Let' break it down even more. Time to train sprinting with the ball now. For stamina you need to start taking into account the recovery, how much you sleep, how you eat, are you overtraining? For the feel for the ball start training ball receiving low, mid and high passes, receiving with both legs and chest, then graduate to receiving the ball while sprinting, on both sides of the pitch.
      After these fundamentals you are ready for the advanced stuff - crossing, cutting inside and shooting, reading the opponent player/s.
      You can really go into so much detail it's incredible - crossing curled, sliced, with either leg from either side, low post or high post, targeeting area between the penalty and the keeper box, air ball or ground ball, run at defenders' backs, shooting with power or placing shots, tricks and start/stop moves to create separation for a cross or a run, positioning out wide, maybe find a model player and study the videos to learn how and when he positions himself in the match.
      I hope this was helpful. And I didn't even mention defending duties. :)
      Good luck.

      Also remember the most important thing to know abt dribbling in football is your leg muscles don’t over do your upper body bcuz most of the time if u shield the ball properly u realize u use more leg strength than upper body, also when changing direction u need to be quick and that only comes from strong legs trust me on this leg muscles are so important in football but also don’t neglect your upper body tho

    • @michaels-meditations
      @michaels-meditations  2 года назад +1

      Only in the initial phase of learning, it flattens out the longer you practice a skill and eventually it closes the gap. Except for pure physical traits ofcourse. Otherwise link a scientific journal I'll like to read it :)

    • @pinny492
      @pinny492 2 года назад

      @@michaels-meditations Nope, the gap never closes. Some people just learn in like 10% of the time of others. The studies showed this.

      @@michaels-meditations Well, let's take top 1 chess player, Magnus Carlsen. He remembers thousands of games. Basically no one can do that even spending a lifetime training, and training just for this, not even to be good at chess. He clearly has a brain that fits well with chess. It's a great exception, but it happens.
      At 5 years old, he already had an incredible memory.
