  • In this video we will talk about how to be extraordinary from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the main precursors of existentialism and his goal was to pave the way for “Superhuman”, an extraordinary superior and absolutely free man.
Friedrich Nietzsche, through his teachings, wanted people to see the great height of their extraordinary potential and to break the chains which kept them prisoners in order to conquer their true freedom and to help us understand those teachings, here are 10 lessons from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche which can teach you how to be extraordinary -
    01. Be an essentialist
    02. Be authentic
    03. Look for wisdom, not knowledge
    04. Put your will into things
    05. Love your destiny
    06. Never fear failure
    07. Always speak your truth
    08. Stay connected to nature
    09. Be pragmatic
    10. Be a dynamite
We hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope this video helps you get closer to being extraordinary.
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is considered to be one of the most daring and greatest thinkers of all time. His writings on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence have exerted an enormous influence on Western philosophy and intellectual history. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism, which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent, determining their own development through acts of will. By his famous words “God is dead!”, Nietzsche moved the focus of philosophy from metaphysics to the material world and to the individual as a responsible person for his own life. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote several books like The Birth of a Tragedy, Human, All Too Human, The Dawn, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of the Idols, The Will to Power, The Antichrist, and many more. His teachings have shaped the lives of many people; from psychologists to poets, dancers to social revolutionaries.

As I've gotten older and have gotten a clearer picture of so-called 'reality', I've set more and more limitations upon myself. I look at statistics about how uncommon certain things are like overcoming certain addictions or getting a certain job or anything that's statistically improbable and think, "I'm not special enough to be an outlier who overcomes the odds. I'm a slave to being all too human, so why even try?" This defeatist mindset has been like being tied down with a ball and chain that has gotten heavier while I've gotten weaker.
However, my New Year's resolution is to be more comfortable with being uncomfortable while being less comfortable with being too comfortable and learning to "embrace the suck" . Most of my life has consisted of finding shortcuts or what the kids call "hacks" that allowed me to exert minimal effort for the maximum rewards. I did the bare minimum (and sometimes cheated I'm ashamed to say) and skated my way through school. I also choose an easy university degree and worked menial jobs with low barriers to entry. This constant search for efficiency and following the path of easiness may be helpful in certain circumstances, but if applied to nearly all aspects of life, you end up as a slothful idling blob who lays about in indolence.
For about a month now, I've been running fairly consistently and am on a streak that's super rare for me. Whenever I suffer the pain of running during near maximal effort and tempted to stop or walk, I keep reminding myself to embrace the suck and to be mindful of how running will pay great dividends. Cold showers and ice baths are things I also plan on working my way up to. I think living a safe and relatively easy life made be soft, so it's imperative to introduce some beneficial and controlled stress in my life. Controlled stress could also provide physiological benefits that uplift my mood, reduce inflammation, strengthen my immune system, etc. I used to powerlift and go to the gym 3-4 days a week prior to the covid pandemic, so a major source of beneficial stress vanished, which caused me to wither away mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Procrastination is major issue I'm working on, which has tormented me most of my life. It's weird how it's physically easy to do the things that my laziness perceives as painful and how the pain of overcoming laziness can feel worse than physical pain. A major source of procrastination is surfing the internet, especially on my dopamine-flooding and time-wasting laptop. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my laptop and making do with my old smartphone. The withdrawals and void left by not being able to get a dopamine fix from my laptop will hopefully compel me to get that fix in healthier and more productive (not drugs!) ways like reading, doing a major cleaning purge of my apartment and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and orderliness instead of allowing it to fall into a mess of chaos, being more active outside, socializing in-person much more frequently, finally getting my passport, studying for my personal training certificate, and many other things I've been putting off out of my laptop-induced procrastination.
Anyhow, thank you for mentioning that profound Nietzsche quote and inspiring me to continually take inventory of my life and strengthening my resolve to overcome setbacks and follow through with my goals!

When people say they want authenticity, they only want it when it’s doesn’t hurt their feelings. I would say it’s somewhat the opposite most people are not in their comfort zone they just live in an illusion that they are in fact most people are leaving extremely difficult and hard-working lives they are running in circles with the belief that there is an end to it and assume they will be able to sail off into the sunset once they retire at the age of 70 and are basically almost dead.
The vast majority of people are so stuck in poor financial decisions that appear normal and actually a sign of success such as having a mortgage and a car payment insurance retirement plan a family without any sort of money to support it before you even start it and other money draining decisions That force them to work 50 hours a week and ensure that they have no time to think for themselves or ever think for a way out of that situation. The house is literally a wooden structure that protects you from the wind and gives you a place to sleep and cook food yet people are willing and think it’s completely normal to pay 300,000 if not most of the time after interest rates around $1 million if we include taxes.
Because people are so afraid of being judged and too lazy to find alternatives in life they are essentially demented herd animals forever running in a circle never growing and just existing to exist.

18:08 - Nietzsche never said "God does not exist". Here us what Nietzsche said:
"“God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?”
There are many concepts of God, some more anthropomorphic than others, some more childlike than others.
Nietzsche wants us to become the best version of ourselves, to reach new heights, to live abundantly, to shake off guilt and fear and meekness, to become free spirits. An overbearing, constricting, guilt-imposing concept of God will hinder that process. Yes, we kill off old concepts of God in order that a more liberating concept of God might rise from the ashes and to become more god-like ourselves, creators like the Creator.
Nietzsche came from a long line of Protestant pastors, the story of Jesus, the God-Man, was deeply imbibed. "We" killed Jesus, crucified Him on the cross. How will we make up for it? By becoming more bold like Jesus, by accepting our fate and suffering and humiliation - transcending social hierarchies and categories and impositions - and by rising again from the dead. By, as Nietzsche puts it, "we ourselves (becoming) gods".
    It's a multi-layered imagery and process.
The end-goal is the Übermensch, if not ourselves, then preparing the way for future generations.
Practice and live and teach courage confidence, fearlessness.
    "Live dangerously".

I think Neitzsche had some wisdom but I also think he lacks wisdom or understanding when he contradicts himself about religion. Or perhaps it's the perceptions of his views about religion are lacking. Sure you may have doubts but does that make you an atheist and you may have faith but does that make you a believer without doubts? We should respect each other and grow in understanding

This excellent lecture about the philsophy of Nietzsche made me reflect how far I am away from being a "Superhuman" (could we also say "Superman" or "Superwoman"?). Actually I am living according to essentialism, a few years ago I started to free myself from all things and persons which were not essential for me and who constrained me from becoming the autentic person who I think I am now. But from my own experience I also know that in order to become really authentic in the sense of realizing our whole potential, sometimes we might need the inspiration of a good friend who gives us a kick into the right direction.
Wisdom has always been more important to me than knowledge. Often I am lacking basic knowledge of things "one should know", but I ask myself "why should I know them"? Also I avoid being a slave of my environment by not follwing mainstream behaviour. I have indeed a strong will and face reality as it is. Actually I have often asked myself whether I have a free will and I don't think so. But I feel free to accept my destiny and make the best out of it. I also recognize myself in all the other points mentioned here. For example, running in nature is often the best way for me to free my mind so that new ideas can pop up. I'm not sure whether I am something like "dynamite", but indeed most of the time I feel full of energy and joy in my mind.

your thoughts should also always start from the point and understanding that 99.9999% of the people around you are ignorant and EVERYONE is a victim of the country, economy, society, culture AND THOUGHTS you grew up with, and there are only a few who can put themselfs above that. those thoughts alone should make you happy, and make you understand each individual, "people's reach of understanding" things as a whole is almost none existing.... all they se is (for them alone what is wrong and correct) once u can understand this, u can stop working on urself, and start working for others.

usually philosophers work to solve their predecessors' issues. Nietzsche falls into a problem already solved before: are you able to perceive reality itself? Are your senses trustworthy enough for you to believe in them as Truth?
Because if you can be deceived by your senses and if you are unable to perceive reality itself, you cannot talk about "your" Truth. There's no such thing as your truth then. There's only your perception, that can be either accurate or not.
I do think everyone can have an opinion, but it's an opinion. It not "a" truth, it's not "the" Truth. It's just a personal impression of reality.

    1. Be an essentialist. Whats really important, true ans essential. Be less concerned with the mundane. Declutter your life. Throw away things that do not represent you. Throw away pp that dont add value. Throw away a career that doesnt represent you. Don't do things to impress ppl. Have high goals, high priorities. This is essential to living an extraordinary life.
    2. Be authentic. Shun the herd mentality. Own yourself, become free and authentic. Confidence comes with Self- discovery. Start to say no to ppl so as to own the person you really have. Start a fight to regain your freedom.
    3. Look for wisdom, not Knowledge.
Wisdom is gathered from day to day experiences. Knowledge is gained from books. Write a list on what kind of knowledge you need. Seek only high quality knowledge, relevant to your goals in life.
    4. Put your will in things. Gain real will- power to do things. Create your own values. Get freedom from systems that bind your spirit, intellect and agency.
    5. Love your destiny. Amor Fati. Love for one' s fate. Reaffirm life as it is. Look at your existence with a deep understanding. Live your life according to your passions and personality. Be aware of life to experience it. Do not regret, lament your past, or grieve over.the dead. Look at life not for happiness, bit as a constant process of self discovery. Practice meditation regularly.
    5. Never fear failure. Be prepared to burn in your own flame. You must first be ashes. Be resilient. Never yield. Anyone who wants to achieve sth extraordinary in life should not be debilitated by fear.
    6. Always speak your truth. The world cherishes them who speak the truth. Speak it, no matter how shocking. To be extraordinary, you must have the courage to speak extraordinary truths.

From a scientific perspective: It’s clearly undeniably false as the fabric of the universe relies on one universal law, that being causation, which dictates everything has a cause hence nothing causes itself.
If a more subjective perspective is required: how do I adopt a perspective I can’t recognise as true?
Obviously there’s more context to this but this comment is already too long 😂

My mind is also warped with disease. Appreciated this contribution to the powers of darkness immensely. Pleasing his formula has no room for humility or compassion as pride begets a fall. Once we've all fallen we can get on with it. Any game we like. Definitely no room for false idols. A. K. A. Any idols. We are all human. Until we identify with our games and forget to laugh. Just to be ordinary is the most extraordinary thing in the world because everybody wants to be extraordinary.
“Nobody wants to be ordinary. To be ordinary is the only extraordinary thing. Very rarely does somebody relax and becomes ordinary. If you ask Zen masters, ‘What do you do?’ they will say, ‘We fetch wood from the forest, we carry water from the well. We eat when we feel hungry, we drink when we feel thirsty, we go to sleep when we feel tired. This is all.’
“It does not look very appealing - fetching wood, carrying water, sleeping, sitting, eating. You will say, ‘These are ordinary things. Everybody is doing them.’ These are not ordinary things, and nobody is doing them. When you are fetching wood, you are condemning it - you would like to be the president of some country. You don’t want to be a woodcutter. You go on condemning the present for some imaginary future.
Carrying water from the well, you feel you are wasting your life. You are angry. You were not made for such ordinary things.
“You had come with a great destiny - to lead the whole world toward a paradise, some utopia. These are all ego trips. These are all ill states of consciousness.
“Just to be ordinary - and then suddenly what you call trivia is no longer trivia, what you call profane is no longer profane. Everything becomes sacred. Carrying wood becomes sacred. Fetching water from the well becomes sacred.
“When every act becomes sacred, when every act becomes meditative and prayerful, only then are you moving deeper into life - and then life opens all the mysteries to you. Then you are becoming capable. Then you are becoming receptive.
The more receptive you become, the more life becomes available.
“This is my whole teaching: to be ordinary, to be so ordinary that the very desire to be extraordinary disappears. Only then can you be in the present; otherwise you cannot be in the present.”
