I'm sure that even if you were the only one with that experience, the band members would value that over all the awards and platinum albums in the world. This is what it's all for.

As a Christian I have to say I absolutely LOVE the lyrics. Every line is either a scriptural reference or a reference to general ways Christians describe God. I hate most contemporary Christian music for being bland, repetitive, and cheesy, but Theocracy gets my approval. I’m glad to see the Gospel so perfectly written into heavy metal, one of my favorite genres. God bless y’all.

I call this genre Righteous Rock! Matt Smith is the composer and frontman for Theocracy. The band hails from Athens, Ga. & Atlanta area. Great bunch of guys. One charity project “Project Aegis” produced 3 singles where 100% of the proceeds went to 3 different charities. One of the singles proceeds benefitted underprivileged kids who were unable to afford instruments. Matt Smith arranged/composed 3 songs and invited other artists to take part in the collaboration with each song benefiting a different charity. The songs are: “And the Rest is Mystery”, “Angel in the Ashes” & “Collide and Spark”! All 3 songs can be viewed on RUclips by Project Aegis! Definitely worth a listen!

Brother, you got a new sub because of your honesty.
So many people disregard Christian music because of the word “Christian”.
That’s why I love when Christian artists say they are artists who are Christian.
Let their actions speak for them as far as “preaching” goes and allow the music/lyrics speak for themselves.

I like Theocracy quite a bit. "I am" and "Mirror of Souls" are the two biggest masterpieces Matt Smith has produced so far. Mirror of souls might even be a step above I am. Both of them are also the two songs which bring the core message of Christianity in the most direct manner. For me as a Christian that is obviously an additional plus.
I also very much enjoy all the other works of Matt Smith/Theocracy. I could bring a long list of songs I like of him, but I will restrain myself from doing so and only bring two more examples.
If you ever want to react to a Christmas song then I can highly recommend his "Night of Silence". It's the best Christmas song he did out of about 10.
Another thing he did was compose three charity songs under the name "Project Aegis". There singers from various bands contribute and all three songs are of the highest quality.

Seriously, after I was born again, I had a new heart that just couldn't listen to the music I used to. I was very frustrated with the Christian music industry because all I heard was your basic top 40, 4 chord melodies and everybody redoing everybody else's songs. Then someone introduced me to Theocracy, Disciple, Gungor, and a few others, who have a different heart, but didn't trade in their GOD given talent. Theocracy is amazing.

One of my favorite bands ever and I've been listening to metal since the 80s, Flew to Georgia to see them play from Los Angels I've listened to everything from Sabbath/Slayer/Metallica/Sanctuary/Agent Steel/Rush/Dream Theater/Testament/Symphony X, and they are among the best of the best.

nah Mirror of Souls is what you send if you want to convert someone. This song doesn't have any call to conversion or argument for the validity of Christianity. It's really more of a showcase of theological ideas. And besides, there's nothing wrong with trying to persuade someone to your point of view in a polite and respectful way regardless of if that's religion, politics, theories about aliens, or anything else.

Anyone who says they’re atheist or agnostic is admitting they haven’t done the research on Christianity…the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ…the reality and existence of God…and the proofs that Jesus is God. But I’m glad you like the song. Do more Christian metal but more importantly, do more research into Jesus Christ and God and the reality of both. God bless and Metal on!

I suppose that pesky theology degree from Northwestern University says I haven't done my research. Theocracy is a great band. Matt is an outstanding songwriter. His lyrics are absolute poetry. At the same time, I don't believe Satanic lyrics anymore than Christian ones. To me, it's just as imaginary as dungeons and dragons. Just more dangerous.
