I love Matts voice and the way Theocracy makes lyrics and build up the song. For me it doesn’t hinder at all that Theocracy’s song have long riffs and they have the strong parts only at the beginning and at the end. For me it makes the song feel a lot more important and epic. Also Many of theocracy’s song have kind of story that the lyrics are telling and the rare strong parts make it so much more epic.

Honestly, I really don't understand why you didn't like it - I love this song. Where you were getting bored at the riffs I was loving the way that they half timed and double timed to change the feel. And even stranger still, I've listened to this song many times over the years and never once realized it was 9 minutes long - when you said that at the beginning I was thinking that you had the wrong song! Anyway, they have a lot of other great songs, so give some more tracks a try before you make up your mind about them. Lastly - right now you THINK you're not a fan of Matt Smith's vocals - but just you wait.
Yeah, this isn't my favorite Theocracy song, and was from an older album. Ghost ship songs are a bit more structured and "traditional". I think you'd enjoy "Wonder of it All" better. "I AM" is also a long song, but has a ton of variety.
@@jonwilkinson7474 Interesting, to me the Ghost Ship album my least listened to Theocracy album. Why? Because of the same song structures all over again. Sounds too bland compared to the other albums. The mixing is a bit bland too. So little punch to the drum sound.
I just watched your reaction to "Angel in the Ashes" by Project Aegis. I think it is good evidence that the singer (Matt Smith) improved a lot because you liked his performance there and I too hear the difference. 8 years between the release of the two songs. I would not be angry if you reacted to more songs of Theocracy such as "Around the world and back" or any other of theirs ;) They have music videos for "Hide in the fairytale" and "Ghost Ship" on RUclips.
WOW, you should check out some other Theocracy but if you don't like the vocals it may not make much more of an improvement I think they are an underrated band
I am not a super professional singer, but in my ears the singer actually did accomplish a significantly fuller vocal sound on later the albums. A lot can be changed in that regard if you improve your singing technique. If you compare this song with "30 pieces of silver" you might be able to hear it. In my ear the singing on the album "Mirror Of Souls" is close to perfect except for it being somewhat thin. That´s where I have to agree with David. What I really like is how he´s hitting the right pitches and expressing emotions here. Especially in the title track of the album.

Hopefully down the road once the que has been eliminated I can get rid of all the tiers and go back to the old way of taking requests. We'll see how things go.
it always irks me when someone goes with a song from one of my favorite bands and it's not even one of their better ones. same thing happens with so many of them.
Theocracy has much better tracks than this, I'm sure. "Ghost Ship", for instance. Standard, unobtrusive power metal in a more ore less bite sized chunk.

Agreed, most ghost ship songs are good but my favorites are 30 Pieces and master story teller

I'd take this over Ghost Ship in a heartbeat.
Theocracy has much better songs with better vocals. I AM comes to mind as does The Gift Of Music. You should react to one of those two next.
Let's just say if I heard it on the radio I wouldn't turn it off, sorry.
