My opinion is the breakup of the Beatles happened on August 27th, 1967. That was the day Brian Epstein died. Had Mr. Epstein lived he probably would have kept them together.
Ringo's recollections on the reason{s} why the Beatles broke-up are very different from Paul's. According to Paul, it was John who broke up the band, wanting to go his own way with Yoko. I tend to believe Paul's explanation. It is much more in line with what was going on at the time, but I also understand why Ringo would want to "paint a pretty picture" so many years later to make things look less contentious than they were.
