    I love the mix of things you're doing!
    I'm a lover of the outdoors and now just recently have taken up carving. I've recently started my very 1st walking stick with multiple patterns. You've really inspired me to carve and get back outside after I fell down stairs which ruined my carpentry career. I love the outdoors and woodworking. Now you're bringing both to me!
    Thanks so much Doug! I truly appreciate all you do and really enjoy watching your videos. The only way I get out anymore is when my good friend is available to assist me.
    Anyways, thank you Doug for being such a great teacher and a Canadian Inspiration!
    Blessings to you and your Family.

    You are born to be in amongst the earth. I don’t think I have ever heard you say you are tired once, regardless of how many kilometres you have canoed or portage’s you have crossed. You have such a humble grace about you and I love your connection you have to the land. Always so grateful for every meal you have and seem to delight in the simplicity of what it is all about. You are my absolute fav! :)

    This has become my summer classic vid series. Where I live in Colorado it's covid-19 and we have over 4 major forest fires. Roads are closed, Smoke in the air, folks have a irritable bad attitude. I'm just going sit in the shade and relax and watch my virtual friend Doug do what we both love to do most. Enjoy the outdoors and catch some fish. Best wishes to all. It'll be fine..

    • @mikek2826
      @mikek2826 7 лет назад +2

      Yeah I was going to suggest that too. You can either use one or two. I like using two O rings and have them over lap each other to make an X. It saves me a bunch of worm loss. I also use an old pen that will fit my worm and O-rings and see no reason to spend even seven bucks for the tool.

    I officially rename you Douglas Rain Racer 😊 Best vid i've watched in ages. Those storms sure kept you busy, and the clouds in that last storm were truly a magnificent sight 😃👍

    Doug check out the Kanawza Samurai hand saw by ichiban GC-330-LH. Amazing high tech hand saw. What took effort and time taking the dead tree down with your very nice axe/and hatchet takes seconds and little effort with this saw. Your old bowsaw is very yesterday. I watch Wranglerstar on youtube and he showed it there. I bought one on amazon. Maybe $35. Great safe case with belt loop or thread through a small strap.plus a quick release connector. Amazing tool. Cuts like a hot knife through soft butter. My wife loves it. Takes very little space, very lightweight, ergonomic, and easy to backpack as well. It's magic stuff.

    It's funny how rain can ruin a trip if you don't have the right mindset.
    But you've turned it to a memorable one.
    Great stuff.
