After Cata, MoP, and WoD, and how little I cared for those three expansions... I'm actually *really* going to miss Legion a lot when it's over. This expansion was fuckin' LEGIT.
I still cry during the Ysera cinematic. Sad times for Azeroth.
Same. The other cinematics got to my heart a little but as soon as Ysera fell I lost control of my tear ducts.
I normally do not get emotional over games or even movies. But, I've played WoW for over 10 years and have become attached to the characters and the lore. For me this was the saddest expansion. It was tough watching Tirion and Varian die in such horrific deaths. I thought it was to soon for Voljin to die. I guess they needed it to feel that way, to add to the complexity of the experience. I think we are supposed to have mix feelings about Sylvanas becoming Warchief, as I am sure the Horde are currently feeling in this point in time. I can imagine the conversations among the horde to be just as venomous and passionate, as the discussions we see take place in the forums. Just when we thought the Legion couldn't be anymore devastating, we watched them kill Ysera right before our eyes. I believe the feeling was mutual in that moment and was meant to shake us players.
I think the goal was for us to fully understand how devastatingly powerful the Legion truly is. We finally grasp, what Illidan understood from the start and why he would go to any length to stop them. Both sides lost highly respected leaders, to the now lack luster leaders we have now. This is a real game changer for both characters. This is a major point in their lives, when things are about to get interesting. Now, that we understand the gravity of the situation, we are on the same page and will do anything to save our home planet Azeroth.
If it took killing Ysera, to 'wake' us up, then her death was not in vain.
Maybe they will introduce one of her children, who will take her place in a future expansion. That could be interesting.
I don't know if anyone will take Ysera's place. After Cata the aspects gave their duties over to the mortal races. The only situation we have of an Aspect being replaced is Kalecgos replacing Malygos, but that was when the aspects were still charged with protecting Azeroth. Now that they're in the background a bit more, will anyone replace her. Sure, someone will replace her as leader of the green dragonflight, but I doubt that dragon will have the same power over the emerald dream and all that as Ysera did.
Tirion didn't die a horrific death. He survived the battle at the broken shore and got taken prisoner by the legion. If you play a pally and go searching for his sword you save him from the legion but he dies afterwards from I guess wounds.
Archimonde destroyed Dalaran with a drawing, Kil'jaeden couldn't do so with an army...

I remember how Horde players complained about how Varian got a better death, but if you look at things now in BFA it makes sense. While Vol'jin is dead, he is still a spirit that is most likely going to become the next Loa of Kings. Varian however he is dead and is not coming back in any shape or form. Its why his death on the Broken Shore had a more epic and cinematic flare to it.

Carlos Castillo no actually Arthas leveled up to 55 as a paladin just to unlock death knights. Deleted his Paladin afterwards.

See heres the real question: Why didn't Varian just climb up and then cut the damn things hand off from the skybreaker? that way he goes home, everyone's happy, Jaina and Genn probably don't freak, etc.

I want the choice for undead to look more like Nathanos' model than being forced to be the withered hunchback runts. getting the option to hide their bones was nice, but theres so much more potential.

Wait let me get this right,sylvanas is a banshee and by what she did in the opening cinematic for Battle for Azeroth, why couldn’t she have just used her powers and killed all the demons and raised all the fallen horde and alliance to help fight the legion to?

Man, I actually loved Sylvanas' character in Legion, the shocked expression when Vol'jin declared her Warchief, the way she stood there at the Warchiefs big chair, probably contemplating. and I feel she had some sort of genuine emotion when she asked who would avenge him. I feel like they ruined her in BFA, cause she went from "doing wrong for the right reasons" (Forcing Valks under her service so the undead could live on, letting a bunch of Alliance die to save the lives of many horde leaders, that sort of thing) to just being another boring villain, (I don't even need to go into detail but I will. burning a tree that the night elves lived in, ordering Baines execution, dishonorably killing Saurfang during Mok'gora...)
I suppose in the Shadowlands they could find a way to twist it to her favor... somehow... though I doubt they will.
now that I've rewatched the cutscenes, I actually think her evilness stems from the big Valk'yr being freed. now her future isn't secured, she has no out. she's so obsessed with death, or, I guess, not succumbing to death, that when her crutch was gone. she probably went mad. thus making a deal with the jailer, yada yada yada.

one thing i never understand is: if the undead are capable of making a plague strong enough to kill the living and the dead, then why can't they craft a plague so strong it could wipe out all of the legion, and fire a missle with that stuff straight into the twisting nether?

As a casual fan, can someone explain to me why Sylvana Windruner swore vengeance against the Alliance? It was the Horde the ones that abandoned the Alliance that lead to the death of their leader.

I wonder how long it will take Blizzard before they include player characters in their videos. Randomly picking maybe a couple players from a group, or all of them (if it's not a huge raid). Surely they can make facial animations a possiblity for every character with enough effort. The character can be background characters, just standing there like the two Elves in 21:03 . Or being a slightly more background like the female Night elf is (if the foreground character were to be a Lore character, not that I am saying that either of them aren't lore characters. I have no idea if they are meant to be anyone).

After reading a large treaty on the titles of nobility the other day, I cringed when Greymane calls Varian, "My Lord" instead of "My Liege". Lord is a title for a much lower nobility than King. A Baron or a Mayor might be called a Lord or possibly a Count or Earl at best.
I love how us fighting Illidan in BC was literally just a matter of miscommunication, just seems like the most ridiculous retcon.

Never? I guess it is quite hard to make a really good looking cinematic and they would kill their brand with a ton of crappy ones. The likes of single lich king intro cinematic advertise the brand much better than any number of average cinematics.
