@@teabearchurchill5600 there was no mistake. The problem with that cinematic style is that it's straightup impossible to pay at a scale of a movie. Hell, even Capcom has been making full length CGI Resident Evil movies for years. I'm sure it was within their budget to do all CGI if they wanted to. It probably would have been cheaper than hiring a shit ton of actors each with their own hand-made costume and doing make-up every filming session. If Square and Capcom can make full length CGI movies, so can Blizzard, but they just decided not to.

Willing to gamble your soul, to save your people, to be seen as a tyrant, in others eyes, to save those that can be saved, not many can do that.
Arthas was rash and had a hard time to listen to others, but legit, he did what was needed at the time, if he had not picked up Frostmourne, I imagine he would've been a great king, leading the Alliance for a long time.
But his fall is sad, and what makes him a great character how they did it. What happened to him in Shadowlands is unforgivable, but same time, him being used to make Kingsmourne makes sense, who else could be made into such a force.

What happened to him in the shadowlands could be completely acceptable, if not for the Sylvana's dialogue at the end of his flickering soul, which felt so out of place or ridiculous. Plus the fact that more story chould have been given to him during Shadowlands, other than "Look at this blue crystal I have here in my hands, which I'll use to forge Kingsmourne. The players will never 1+1 this one and find out this is related to Arthas!"... If the point was to give some sort of suspense, they failed by how obvious it was, and denied any kind of development related to the character by doing so.

Once he claimed Frostmourne, he had destroyed every major hero Eastern Kingdoms could muster at the time and even went to Dalaran and killed the Legendary Mage/Priest Antonidas, and made Jaina run away in fear.. Malganis, fell to him, Illidan was slane, nothing was stopping Arthas's revenge.. nothing. He sacrificed many of his own men just to get to Northrend during a Blizzard, and once there, he would not allow them to return until his vengeance was had.
His sword (FROSTMOURNE) had taken so many powerful souls that by now Deathknight Arthas had seemingly endless magic and new spells at his command mixed with his former Paladin knowledge he wielded these powers like he was born with them....once he took the Helm of Domination, in one gulp he swallowed down the power of 10,000 Shaman and reached a power that some Gods dare not toy with.
He planted his gigantic fortress (ICECROWN) in the Dragon Aspect's backyard like "WHAT?" DARING ANYONE to attack him while surrounded by 1000's of dead dragons and drakes he could rez allday for an army. He already had SINDRAGOSA the Queen of Magic to Malygos and that alone had the Aspects sweating bullets... eventually he would have rezzed GALAKROND once he had enough power, he put a lot into Sindragosa and was regaining power.
He was the best Warcraft Raid Boss and the most fearing threat Azeroth ever had. He was 10 of Bolvar....Sylvannas even with the jailers buff was not as strong as the True Lich King....and Bolvar did not have Frostmourne with 1000's of souls in it either, and was only half the Paladin Arthas was. It is EXACTLY the reason Sylvannas told Bolvar "YOU ARE UNFIT TO WEAR THIS CROWN" knowing the power Arthas wielded with it. Tirion had to shatter Frostmourne while the Lich King had his back turned to power Arthas down, and then the spirit of his own father held him in place while they struck him down...He is the only Raid Boss we never truly defeated alone...we had help. Tirion rezzed us after the Lich King killed us.. remember?

When i first played both W3 games as kid, Arthas's story was the one affected me the most. Back then i hadn't encountered many sad endings in any franchise and i was really expecting Jaina and Arthas to save their kingdom together but when they departed ways and that cinematic with the bells tolling finished i remember feeling actually baffled. Years later when i found out Anakin also became Darth Vader after Clone Wars i once again faced with a similiarly bitter surprise and only then i noticed the resemlence between two characters. Both tried to help the people they were responsible for, Both had the "Wrong Allies" on their side, and both doomed themselves by choosing to heed their counsel in the end. Not to mention the fact that, whatever Padme was to Anakin, Jaina Proudmoore was almost the same to Arthas even though we didn't see much of their romance in the games. Seeing this video just brought back all those bitter memories for me i guess.
