My favourite place in Azeroth ever since day 1 of playing an Undead and running through the Bulwark at level 8 then getting wreckt by a diseased bear with a skull for a level.
I did something similar! First character, low 20s troll hunter; hadn't actually been to the Eastern Kingdom at this point. I needed to go to Hillsbrad and from looking at the blank map, it looked like travelling through the plaguelands was faster than going through silverpine. Anyway I died. Multiple times.
This is THE place for Warcraft fans from the RTS games. The only place that gives me the feels more than the plaguelands, and that's the throne room above undercity. If you stand there long enough you'll start to hear the victory bells of the return of Arthas, and you'll hear King Teranes Menithil say "What are you doing?" And Arthas saying "Succeeding you....father." Gave me chills the first time I heard it on my human rogue in vanilla while trying to stealth into undercity. I got ganked because I couldn't stop listening to the audio clips in the throne room and I was only level 40 at the time... Some level 60 Hunter spotted me through my stealth and popped a flare. I didn't last long after that
While I have been playing WoW since launch, it always bugged me that after clearing quest zones, the problems are still there. Nothing ever gets changed really. I really liked when they introduced phasing, but wish it would've worked toward actually improving these places.
We may see that since they have time travel ingame. Pretty sure you know now but they couldn’t do it then since no one else could do the quests if the problems are solved lol.
Lol, I played from about 6mo after launch until 2008 I think. And I distinctly remember running thru Red Ridge once right before I quit, and thinking "you lazy asses still haven't fixed your bridge."
Ive been read heard seen and pictured these stories and lore bitis multiple times but I have to say the amount and the In game viewing of the specific ruined places while they are being discussed aswell as the multitude of specific place and character zoom ins have made youre story make me understand how wows hystory has effected its world more than any other video ive ever watched
As someone who has played WoW Classic exclusively from Vanilla, Blizzlike and now Era, this was such a fantastic video bringing lore to names and places I've always known but never knew the story of. Thank you!! 10/10
I'm hoping that in Midnight we finally see the surviving Lordaeron Humans retake Tyr's Hand as a City and Stratholme City at last for the Remains of Lordaeron Kingdom.
This is my favorite lore in the game. The haunting whispers of the past in undercity just does something for me lol. And this video explains it all so well
This was the very first zone I remember seeing my ex play that made me want to make a character. Prior my little sister had me play but I kept dying in the Undercity elevators so :/ But this.... I was so ready to dive into this part of the game... I made a human rogue and my life changed forever.
It's always the human rogue. Same with me, I was huge into the RTS games but I didn't really like the whole "I'm the hero" part of WoW. The story made sense when I'm playing as Arthas, Thrall, etc but to be some hero that can be even more badass than them, but totally locked into one class set of abilities when Arthas was a Paladin/Priest hybrid, etc didn't really sit with me. But then some friends were running Scarlet Monastery over and over and I loved watching it so I made a human rogue. That was the beginning of my end.
Hey! great video once again! The plaguelands is such a central of warcraft lore it is hard to wrap your head around. Holding to this day some of the most significant places and areas in the game, and concentrated this small makes it quite intence... My first time here i got completely overwhelmed by it all and all its stories. Just seeing Uther the lightbringers grave first hand was just a "WOW!!!" moment for me. I can only imagine how long it took to make this story come together like this and in under one hour! Personaly it would take me days to explain it! Best wishes from Sweden!
It's happening lad. Go go algorithm. You have put a lot of work into this over the last year and kept persisting, that is evident. Good structures and depth of lore. The Brightwood/Duskwood video brought back a lot of memories. Great zone that. Eerie yet comfy.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a long grind to put together but happy with how it turned out, hope I did the zone some justice! Plenty more to come my friend, safe travels 📚
I remember flying over Northern region of eastern kingdoms thinking how much history those ruins and places hide, and how amazing it would be to see them restored... From what we saw in BFA and the signs we have for the trilogy, this will become true!
When I was 17, back when WotLK was out (jfc I'm old), I would stay up until 4am raiding, questing/achievements, and chatting with my guild. Occasionally I'd run out of things to do or get bored, and I'd start googling things. I remember one night I went down a rabbit hole of what we're basically the human proto-kingdoms in the Arathi Highlands (I think? Been a long time since I've played). Anyway, the stuff I read had nothing to do with the game then, and definitely not now. Random human names ruling over random settlements. Tons of history, damn near lost to time
Oh look, another new WarCraft lore channel in 2024! So much fantastic lore in Warcraft. How could they fail in making fantastic movies? They should make animated series (and do it right). Like the best Japanese animé.
I remember the fight in the tower from one of the books! I read like 11 of them when working out of town and they are the first novels I had read of my own will and gahdamn some of them are so good. Christie Golden or sum was one of my fav authors. The arthas one is also ❤
I feel like it's often glossed over that the Forsaken were actively attacking the settlers and farmers employed under the Argent Crusade during the battle for Andorhal. You'd think that would make the Argent Crusade reconsider its alliance with the Horde.
correction to the knights of the silverhand part, tirion was not a knight but a warrior before becoming a paladin. this was stated in the wow tide of darkness book.
Shame Warcraft became an MMO because stories like this are impossible now because we have to win all the time, can't have evil factions or factions that lose be playable in an MMO
My friends: “why aren’t you level 60 yet?” Me: “running through EPL on a level 24 night elf hunter with broken gear and heavy res sickness to explore” Ah good times back in the day. Probably wasted well over 40hours inching my way through high level zones
Love this content bro. I find myself sometimes having to backup and re-listen to something I just listened to because it didn't sink in. If you were able to inject a little more emotion into the delivery, I think it would be much easier to follow, and pay attention to, and it would sink in better.. You'd have some s-tier content here for sure! Thanks for taking the time to make this for us!

"I'll take what Arthas says in the actual GAME over what is said in a book that came after the fact. "
and i don't care what *YOU* will take as fact, i care about what the fact actually is, and the lore in the book is canon whether you like it or not. just because you have some sort of white supremacy mindset that everything *you* say must be the fact and all us lesser beings have to listen to you doesn't mean it's true, especially considering the fact that you couldn't even get the name of the town arthas witnessed people turn undead right... that happened at hearthglen, not andorhal.
also, i did play the game... and the vast, overwhelming majority of the people arthas murdered in the game *weren't* infected. his whole motive was "i'm gonna kill these people first before the scourge gets them!" again, because there is literally no way he could have possibly known they were.
he could've simply said "hey y'all, don't eat the bread." boom. city saved. instead he went in and killed everybody and just gave the scourge a whole new army, like ner'zhul expected him to.
i too also hammer my crops with a pitchfork when farming
which comic is that you draw from the images on the video
Most are from the Ashbringer comic book, all 4 in the series
When can we eat again?
I have played this game since beta and have never followed one story haha. My brain is free
"The Lich King formerly known as Prince"
Had to do a double take on that one, nice
not me just now finding out that Nathanos is Dead dead
i think i accidentally skipped that cinematic without even realizing it 😂😩
Just out of curiosity where do you get all the game footage?
Recorded in either retail or classic, zoomed in all the way, usually mounted for a better view 📚
