I came to the Dragonflight part of the story and boy oh boy is it obvious this story was written by 30 people each on their own Island completely devoid of any communication between themselves.

Gladly I found this video after playing WoW back and forth for nearly 12 years (I’m 22 btw). Now I understand more of the streamlined lore (rather than fun facts I learned playing the game or reading wow wiki over the years) and this gets me much more hyped for TWW. If there is a way for me to translate this video’s script to my mother language, Portuguese, I’d happily do it. Thank you for the effort you put into this one :)

Never played WoW more than a few starting zones until hardcore and SoD. War Within will be my first major dive into retail WoW and i'm kind of excited.
There’s too much lore in Warcraft for me to wrap my head around it. Whenever I do, bam a mysterious island shows up, a dead king turns out to be alive, that piece of map you couldn’t go to is now a city of dog people, a god damn dragon fucks the place to hell and my girl sylvanas breaks bad over some jailer pusher who has always been pulling string? Oh and then the timeline splits and manaroth gets an axe to the skull, is Guldan still around then? Did Garona not turn out to be a sleeper agent? I can’t keep up and that’s just the last 35 years let alone the tons of lore they added in back to the past to make fuckin pandas make sense
Yeah I never understood why pandas had to be included to the story in general lol And yes it's crazy to wrap my head around all these details as well, I ended up watching this video at least 3 times while I'm doing laundry or before bedtime, trying to get a complete picture out of this big puzzle lol

I have made a return to WoW after some time. When I used to play, all I focused on was completing objectives and moving on. With my return, I have been craving lore like never before and have been trying to find a way to learn it effectively. I really appreciate the quality of the content in this video! Keep it up!

Haven't kept up with warcraft lore post legion so this was a nice refresher since I skipped the last 3 expansions since then. Great video, was very enjoyable to listen to while working a long shift. ❤
If you didn't already know a decent amount of wow lore, you wouldn't understand a lot of this. Still, as someone who hasnt played in a few years, I appreciate the refresher.
Slight problem with your explanation; The Titans aren't Light based, they are Arcane based. That's why they aren't aligned specifically with Yrel's space-zealotry or the Naaru. They had a like-minded enemy in the form of Sargeras' tantrum.
This is an excellent video that kinda bummed me out. As someone who only played WC3 and Frozen Throne, I was curious to see what had happened to the characters after that game ended. I... can't say I'm very satisfied with the answers to those questions in many cases, BUT! this was a very thorough video and a good resource. Thank you for putting it together.

Also some of the Lore seems to be said in the wrong order.
Started playing WoW 2 weeks ago and it is great to finally have a connection to the names. Although I did not manage to grasp everything in one go, I do think that I have learned enough to get what is happening going forward from The War Within

As someone who's been away from WoW for years, coming back to the game, I was so lost about it's lore and the who's who. Thanks to your video, I was able to understand (mostly) what's going on. Appreciate the effort it took to break things down for folks.
One correction, Palagos didn't send Sylvanas to the maw She submitted herself to the judgment of Tyrande who tasked her with rescuing all the souls from the maw so they can be judged with compassion. Sorry to nitpick but still an excellent production ❤
I played this game since it came out in Europe, back then never really cared that much about all the details, as I was a casual player. There weren't that many parents back then gaming in my guild and my first daughter was still little, but I remember her loving the priest when she died, cause then she looks like an angel 😆 god I had to die a lot for her, she had a blast lol 😂 Now my second daughter is a little gamer as well, then we introduced her to wow, that was quiet a little moving moment to me and hubby, we stood there and just smiled lol Anyways lol Now I'm older, still casual player but enjoy the whole story, it's so hard to have an overview without reading the all the books, this is much faster and just love how much effort you put in that. I got a little confused on your time line when some of the curse of flesh afflicted titanforged fled - these became the dwarves, the gnomes and humans, but the trolls naturally evolved from the well of Eternity, much earlier in the time line, they didn't evolve from titan constructs. Edit: Also the lich king didn't release the plague at the wrath gate, it was the dreadlord Varimarthras through the forsaken apocathery society. Not to take away from the efforts of this video, it's well made!
I definitely liked the video and it was impressive, though I have a few notes -2:30 it has been said very recently that Titans form world souls into titans, and that we do not know what the natural forms of world souls are. -16:44 small note that this model is inaccurate as Illidan did not have the wings or horns. He was not half-demon during the well of eternity. -20:11 Another small thing, I was surprised humans were first mentioned here with no word about their evolution from vrykul. -29:46 This is probably my biggest issue with the video. Cutting out Medivh's death and then still talking about him appearing as the prophet makes it seem like he never died but now is suddenly some prophet running around when I feel like that isn't accurate. Many new to wow lore might even assume he is still possessed by Sargares at this point -31:53 Muradin didn't die here, he shows back up in wrath and then becomes the leader of the bronzebeard clan in the council of three hammers. I feel like it was fine once you got to expansions, no big notes, obviously you cannot include everything, and I think you got the broad strokes.
You got the chromie/murozond/iridkron bit wrong at 1:11:00 ~~. You said Iridikron didn't absorb the essence of galakrond, but he did. We stopped him initially but that created murozond because of Deimos. We tried again and stopped the creation of murozond by letting iridikron absorb the essence of galkrond into the dark heart.

Amazing video and summary! Though I feel like the only sane story telling WOW has is the original Warcraft games and anything closely, directly connected to it in WOW. The farther we get from WC3 events, the more random and non-sense it becomes only forcefully connected by vague references and random pieces, many ret-cons because they want to tie everything to the original characters instead of introducing new ones that are more than just a single expansion character.
Yeah, I definitely needed this to understand what the heck has been going on in this game. My mind is already reeling with all the characters and I'm not even past BC!
