Hello everyone. This compiles the entirety of the story (or rather key points) from Warcraft 3 all the way to The War Within. From 2007 to 2013 and then a brief return from 2016 to 2018... this game will never be the same for me. The memories are treasures I will forever hold and I will always have such a nostalgia for WoW, but my time for the game has long passed. Thank you for bringing me down memory lane.
warcraft 3 is something that hit a unique spot of player empowering to generate grassroot material , and sturdy functionality first without any hinderance such as drm its something that a corpo simply cant make due how their agenda is hostile , if you got old original release disks treasure those byond anything else as the 'reforged' crap demonstrated how customer hostile the concerns of actiblizz became with their 'reforged
Quite literally, or at least the main points of each expansion. 20 years worth of expansions compiled into a small 4 hours. Time, effort, sweat and tears well spent.
I was there, from 2009 to 2020. This was a part of my life. Thank you, dear Athelarius for this immersive work you done. I hope you will continue to add more parts to the story, as the Azeroth will unfold. And we will be here, even if not participating, but watching, remembering the times, the adventure, the people. You made this Forsaken's eyes wet.
I love to read comments like this. Thank you for your support, I will continue to cover as long as life and health permit. Been here since the start, Warcraft lore is my life
both share that thought , and at the same time disagree with it as just like with reforged showing actiblizz no longer understands how to weave stories , leet alone worlds or characters the wow expansions been downhill ever since tbc , sacrificing universe consistency or character depth for the sake of cheklist tropes and scheduled micro transaction potential :/
As an on and off again player since 2009 this is perfection ! Truly incredible work! There’s some clips in here I’ve never seen before. Great work well done ! 🎉❤
Thank you so much for your support and for sharing, it helps a lot. So many years have gone by, going thru each questline, farming reputation, renown and prequisites just to get every scene. Comments like this make it all worthwhile. Warcraft lore is my life
Thank you for your support. Looking back, it’s crazy all the years spent playing every expansion, every quest line locked behind renown, reputation or prequsites, till one day you get something like this. Worth every second!
It definitely hits harder when you’ve been there firsthand for every release and content patch. All those guilds, friends, and memories that come and go, priceless!
Outstanding video that I no doubt will watch on repeat for quite some time. It's unfortunate the story, for me at least, took a nosedive around BFA (gameplay took a solid nose dive in Cata). But you can't please everyone. It's made a lot of people happy.
Thanks for this man! I've been playing in this world since Warcraft 1, 2, then some of 3 before playing WOW off n on over the the years and couldn't really figure out the story from the quests I speed read through. Thanks for this! Now maybe it'll make more sense as I play through WOW Classic
Thank you for posting this! I love the lore and story of wow, but I find that the in game questing is a terrible way for me to consume the story, so I really appreciate this :)
Please don't watch this video thinking you will understand wow's story, I am new to this world and I just spent 4 hours being COMPLETELY lost looking at cutscenes lmao. That being said... great video, thank you for compiling the cutscenes, amazing work!
Really amazing work. I wish you had included the part where Guldan steals Illidan's body and more of Anduin and Sylvanas's talks, specially for the two parts including "I thought you believed in free will," and more of Uther's story including the split soul and when he and Devos threw Arthas's soul into the maw.
Glad it could help, works as an introduction and refresher into the universe. An efficient way to compile the main story points of every expansion since Warcraft 3 over 20 years.
Great work! This was way more effort and skill than I could ever do. I think this could be improved by adding the various shorts (burdens of shaohao, lords of war, harbingers, warbringers, etc). I noticed a couple of missing cinematics that i'll note below for completeness, -WotLK the wrathgate -Mists of Pandaria thunder king patch -WoD the other zone's end cinematics (frostfire ridge, shadowmoon valley, etc) -BFA horde's "welcome to zandalar" -BFA rastakan making the deal with bwonsamdi -BFA rastakan killing zul -BFA alliance, jaina arriving to kul tiras for the first time & being looked down at by her mom -BFA alliance, jaina's mom rescuing her from the realm of torment -BFA alliance, jaina finding the kul tiran fleet -Legion where Khadgar warns Varian that the burning legion has returned -Legion where gul'dan finds Illidan's dead body in a crystal and infuses it with fel -Legion where Anduin comes out of hiding to see the spot where Varian died -Legion where Xe'ra's core arrives to Azeroth, and Khadgar finds it (not knowing what it is) & discovers turalyon is still alive -Legion where Xe'ra's core interacts with the player and tells them for the first time that the Pantheon has been dead for thousands of years -Legion where Velen prepares the draenei ship to go to argus (with illidan onboard) -Legion where illidan kills xe'ra -Shadowlands where garrosh disenchants himself and the boss in Sanctum of Domincation
I started in 1994, mowing lawns in addition to my after school job, so I could get the RAM I needed to play the first Warcraft game. I stopped, however, when Warlords of Draenor released. Everything I'm watching after that barely makes any sense to me. It feels like wierd fan-fiction. The story has always been about Arthas for an old timer like me.
Thank you very much. Least I could do for the 20th anniversary of WoW, and crazy enough played all this firsthand throughout the years, so many guilds, people and friends that have come and gone, many memories!
Man, looking back at Warcraft's story over the years, for me it lasted until Legion, everything after that is just an overly drawn out epilogue. Some would argue after Wrath, but for me it's Legion where the true Warcraft story ended.
The most patched, updated, iterated upon, adjusted, expanded upon game in history, and it doesn't look like it's going to be stopping any time soon either. My guess is we might just see another 20 years of WoW, it might never stop.
20 years in the making, and as someone who played through it all firsthand it has been quite the adventure. Here’s to 20 more, we know the world soul saga is guaranteed till like 2030 to finish
idk is it just me ? but i like the tww cinematic i think its so good i have seen it so much but i love it mabye not bad ass like legion its like this nice feel to it and at the end yay Anduin got his mana back xd
Would have been great to see the Warcraft 1 & 2 cinematic, at least the kind of canonical ones... ish... i know there's been a lot of changes, and they're stylistically different. But if I had to add them, I would put in the Warcraft 1 Opening cinematic, the Warcraft 1 Orc campaign victory, Warcraft 2 opening cinematic, Warcraft 2 Alliance Victory and the Alliance cinematic from Beyond the Dark Portal. Just to help fill in some early gaps for anyone who is completely unaware of the franchise.
Is it just me, or does the progression of the artwork seemed aim at a younger population...some of the villains lool less scary than a muppet? I stopped WoW during the Lich King days.
The selection of cutscenes here seems kind of arbitrary. At 1:10:00 you have a two second cutscene in game but then you haven’t included any of the in game or cinematic cut scenes from WoD, including Velen’s sacrifice and the ship explosion at Talador?
We have the capability know. Why don’t we make movies like this based out the game to create amazing movies such as this based off the game story lines. It would be awesome.
Not really. Very few movies make it to the third and still remain decent. It’s really hard to capture that glory from the early years. Blizzard has taken some heavy hits over the years. They took a huge hit around 2020 when it emerged that working for blizzard was like being a part of a super racist fraternity that existed solely for hazing newcomers. Lots of people left after Cataclysm launched, and continued to leave after that. Most of the OG creators and writing team members have been gone for a good decade now. Totally new team, totally new vision for WoW. It’s definitely not what it used to be. God, at this point I’d love to be able to go back and experience Cataclysm when it first released once again. Even just a day. Riding that high from Wrath, so optimistic of the future of WoW. After that, it was all down hill. Warlords of Draenor was such an incredible concept in the beginning, being able to experience the original Horde in its Glory Days back on Draenor before the Fell truly took over completely. But the execution was very poor. And then Legion. Again, returning to the Legion and Fell as concepts for the first time since BC. And it was just okay. I stopped after that, didn’t play BFA, SL, DF, or this current War Within, if it’s released yet as of typing this. The community is different, the game feels foreign. I’m sure lots of people still love it, and I’m not taking away from new players. But I stopped paying attention to retail WoW in 2019. Just played classic from then on until I fully stopped on 2022. Not the same vibe for me anymore. These days I’d rather just watch the lore videos of WoW and play Helldivers 2 lol.
y do all of the wow movies allwas leave out the burning of the tree by silvanas between the end of Legion and BfA its hard to know y there is a war other then the azrite when the tree burning is prob what made the war star NGL
Wait Elune "sacrifice" the Kaldorie to send their souls to aid her sister the winter Queen in Shadowlands? Meaning she "allowed" the burning of the tree so that their souls would reach them and instead they got sent to the Maw? WTF!? Elune is evil man.
If precious lil Anduin can't be blamed for the things he does when the Jailor "compels" him. Why is Syvanas? Or even Arthas? Clearly all 3of them have been Used by "Gods/Demi-Gods", Like the Orc-Horde being used by Sagerais.
Rewatching some of these makes me wonder why I only watched each expansion cinematic once. Then I remembered, oh yeah, I would have been wasting my subscription time... 😂 Its too bad that Kung fu Panda was ever a thing because it completely ruined mists of pandaria for me. 😅

I think BFA actually rounded up a lot of loose ends, but Shadowland was the first expansion that really started to mostly rely on completely new lore
Legion was the last good expac
The story died with wrynn 😭

I have to agree.
Saurfang's death is one of the best cutscenes in gaming history
Legion has the most emotional scenes.

LEGION WAS PEAK
Nice video, but to leave out The Wrathgate ( the game’s first in game cutscene ) is absolutely diabolical.
What once was, unburdened by what now is!
From 1994 to 08 and now again in 2024. What a ride.
Where Wrathgate (loved this so much regardless)

Nice
How can you leave out "MY DESTINY IS MY OWN" cut scene :c
I missed the cinematic where Bolvar is "purified" with flames. That explains why he accept to be the lich king.
Wait, am I blind or you really didn't put the most iconic Illidan legion cinematic in argus "I am my scars" rejection of the gift 😮😮😮😮😮
My favorite part is the random dead eye, pink hair, stone-faced goober in the background of every scene.
1:19:10 Always remembered... [*]
Through all the expansions, the only thing Anduinn did that was useful was to resurrect the hadggar... weak king... blah... wonderfull work, congratz
Runes on Frostmourne in english and polish versions are different. So many years and still it's a mystery for me. Anyone?
It's in the W3 human ending cinematic, 7:43.
