I’m about to acquire a ton of unconscious info
You are funny. ❤😂
Sad to say, this isn't how it works. You will, however, develop a mad crush on hiru.
😂 she will fall in love with a voice?
@JakobusMaximus I fall asleep listening to Neil degrasse tyson all the time. What you say is accurate.
I take it turning down the Mana requirement or removing it completely was not an option?
I can finally give my brain a rest from serial-killer stories for a night
Bro same lmao
Mr. Ballen enters chat
how tf do u people sleep to that shi 💀
Bro same…
rogue 'i an stun you for 27 seconds if i stack right'. warlock: hold my beer.....unlimited unbreakable fear
I love long dungeons!
This was suppose to put me to sleep, but now I'm just gonna be listening for 6 hours
Same LOL
You still up?
Ikr shii
supposed*
oh me too im finna listen to it while game binging or drawing
I don't think people hated long dungeons. They hated FARMING long dungeons.
I love long dungeons, some of the best content.
The whole game is based around farming
I think there were people in both camps. I liked the long dungeons while leveling. It made for a nice experience, especially when you were new to them. They felt epic. Some of my best memories from vanilla WoW were exploring these huge places, getting lost, and just having a great time.
@@pillepolle3122nah
Yeah, he is SUPER off about the first point regarding "long" dungeons. Very wrong there!
There are very few dungeons that I remember well that were not classic dungeons. They were adventures and iconic memories.
I can not explain to you how grateful I am for this type of content / these types of videos ilysm
Amen!
Had to like to be the 500th LIKE 🎉🎉🎉
IKR people like him make the internet worth something and at times make life worth living.
Some say they slept on the lore.
I took it a step further and slept to the lore
What does slept on mean?
@@TheTensaiRoninit means ”missed”, or ”didnt pay attention”
Thanks :)

he really streched the video over 10 mins for the ad money...
And you bots keep stretching this overused joke
Don't listen to this other guy this comment is funny cuz it's 6 hours long lol
I need Asmongold to react to this and turn it into a 12 hour video.
fr tho mf turn a 10 min vid into an hour long react
Asmonnnnnn where u at
Highly underrated comment, lmfao!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES :D i was thinking about it i would use that video for sleep whole year
Then moist critical needs to react to Asmonds vid. Get a good 40 hour vid.
blackrock depths man... I think my first run back in 2004/5 took like 7 hours or even more.. Fun memories, every minute was epic
great times
Lll
The "bad zone design" actually made the barrens absilutely amazing tho.
I’m starting a *Sleep Party* I’m looking for a Mage with 110% Sleep & some Guardian Warriors to keep me asleep. Anyone want to join my sleep raid? 🦆
Yo, I don't even play WoW. I just love this type of content to listen to. Subscribed!
My RL buddy and I somehow met this random Ally near Org and I showed this guy, while not being able to communicate with him, how to wall walk/jump over to get to the area under Org. It was one of the best gaming moments I'll ever have.
In the cleft of shadows ? Is that the area under orgrimmar ? If not I'm confused.
@CAWC971 you could kinda glitch out of bounds and end up in this area underneath the city where it's just flat and orgrimmar is above you, I think that's what he talking about
@@bigpoopies789 yeah that's where I was. There were a lot of cool out of bounds places you could get to in vanilla
I really appreciate that you actually put out these videos man!
Struggle to sleep at night and for some reason WoW related content is really soothing, and as earlier mentioned on a video, you have a very fitting voice for "Go to sleep" content
🍀1000
3hrs in…wait a minute, I don’t play wow 😳
really like the non-streamlined itemization of vanilla. Not really scalable to expansions, but for the scope of vanilla, it worked really well.
not rly,it could still work,a vanila item gives 15 str and 1% crit,a tbc items could have been 40 str and 1% crit, you still would go for the tbc one, even if you filled up on old crit gear, whats the point in doing 100% crits whent they end up weaker than non crits with tbc stats
I’m only a few minutes into the video and he’s talking about “wing dungeons” and what came to mind immediately was the dungeons in Hellfire Peninsula. I could imagine those (3?) dungeons all being together in one instance instead of being separated. There was a fair bit of that in TBC, if I remember correctly, with multiple dungeons being right next to/near each other. Then we got it again in Wrath a few times too. I never really thought about that before.
Yeah but sadly it seems like they abandoned that philosophy after wrath. TBC it was all over the place, nearly all of their dungeons were in clusters.
These have been my favorite videos. Been sleeping like a baby to the last 4hr video
This brought back so many memories, I can't even handle it. My early 20's came flooding back in full.
I want an MMO all about those "run ten zones away and swim half a mile to find a secret chest" between two rocks" quests, they were my favorite. Like the Linken's Sword quests, I loved those.
Check out Project: Gorgon. It fits that ask quite well and it's a fantastic MMORPG.
Another almost as big advantage to weapon skill not mentioned in the video is that it lowers the miss chance against enemies, so you do not need to gather +hit on as much gear.
Im about to have the best sleep of my life
I love to listen to this while I do other things. Then something catches my attention and I tab back to watch - impressive you spent 6 hours on this video!
Gentlemen, good night and sleep tight 😘
Yeahhhh, long dungeons made classic wow. Having to get a 5 man group for a large amount of content feels like a mini raid and its awesome
I thought I was the only one that fell asleep to these! This is awesome!
Hiru's got calming voice to be honest.
Lol samw. Love these kind of reteospective videos where they speak with a calming voice. Perfect to fall asleep to

Hey, Classic wow speedrunner here. Edgemasters are very very good, but not really for the glancing blow damage increase. Don't get me wrong, it's super nice, but the real reason people want edgemasters is the hit chance that weapon skill gives. Because raid and dungeon bosses (mobs with a skull as their level) are technically lvl 63, they have a defense skill of 315. That is the exact breakpoint were you start getting massive reductions to hit against a mob if you only have 300 wep skill, 3% to be exact. So when you equip edgemasters you ALSO get an extra 3% hit chance against lvl 63 mobs.
There are a couple of pieces of gear in the game that give 1-4 weapon skill, but they are never used except in situations where you are already getting weapon skill from something else. Think maladath from bwl, its +4 sword skill but you will never see a warrior with JUST maladath unless they are a human because humans already have +5 sword skill. Any other race with just maladath will not have the full +5 skill needed to get the +3 hit, so you just dont see it unless they buy it from a gdkp and dont know why its not good for them by itself. This is why on horde side youll only see warriors with edgemasters OR rogues have maladath. Rogues get +5 swords from their talents and so basically have a free edgemasters baked into their talents. Whereas on alliance youll see basically any human warrior have maladath and NOT have edgemasters. Human rogues have +10 swords, aka a bit overkill (but maladath is still good dps so youll still see some rogues with it just because). And nonhuman rogues never get maladath and are expected to go daggers a lot of the time because the human racial pushes them to just be better investments for swords (this is because the glancing blow damage increase, like I said it is still pretty dang good so if youre gonna have a sword rogue might as well make it a human). And nonhuman warriors usually dont get maladath at all unless they already have edgemasters.
The hit , combined with the glancing blow thing, pushes edgemasters above almost any other gloves in the game. BUT you would only want to wear them for lvl 63 enemies. And in fact you see a lot of warriors unequip their edgemasters for trash because tanks want extra defense since their edgeies arent doing much, and dps would rather throw on tier 1 gloves or something to actually get some hit back since all trash is 310 defense skill, making 305 weapon skill unnecessary against them, aka edgemasters do almost nothing for mobs below lvl 63. Youre actually way less likely to get glancing blows against 62 mobs and lower. That glancing blow chart you had in the video is actually a chart specifically for lvl 63 mobs. This is why its an unspoken rule for warrior leveling to not fight mobs higher than 1 or maybe 2 levels above you: the miss chance and the glancing blow chance makes you do way less damage.
EDIT: I didnt quite realize how old some of these videos were when I commented this, but ill leave it up because I think its interesting.
I found a zone during tbc while wall jumping. From the spot where you could fall through the wall outside the stormwind inn, if you ran far enough you’d hit a valley that was just a valley that was just a flat green colored texture over everything. It was called the emerald dream on the mini map.
Never
You did not make it into the emerald dream area from storm wind
@@I_am_a_cat_ I really could give a shit less if you believe it or not. I have nothing to gain from lying about this. Fuck off.
@@I_am_a_cat_ oh ok yeah I made it up for RUclips likes
this is the most insane timimg.
after a year ive again found my passion for this game.
saw the retail version yesterday, well ,slept to it.
and now this?
I swear I didn’t play wow for a year or so now but I LOVE these videos! Thank you hiru :3
I had like.. 4-5 year break from WoW (coz SL happened and Financial reasons) but i still watched Hiru's videos. Now i got back and all the knowledge from Hiru's videos is paying off.
@@WarWolfCZsl release was 2020 js
In the early days, it was a privilege to get in a dungeon group.
Your narrations are amazing man. So much deep and obscure lore.
I love classic wow, its a part of my DNA ever since i stepped into Azeroth for the first time in November 2004
Yea it’s kind of weird all the little facts and memories we hold from that era of the game lol. I’m glad this video brought back some of that nostalgia
I don't know why they didn't just put the hypothetical "South Seas" expansion on a different world layer like they did Outland, but still make it appear like it's part of Azeroth. This was absolutely possible, because as you explained they literally did that with the Draenei and Blood Elf starting zones. I think doing a "lower stakes" adventure-like expansion like that first would have been great for WoW's progression long-term. Looking back, it definitely feels like a mistake that they blew through almost all of the biggest plot threads left hanging by Warcraft 3. Illidan and the Outland gang, and Arthas in Northrend feel like they were "spent" too early at this point in the narrative.
3:18:00 Yeah I remember failing to mine ore. IIRC when you hovered with your mouse over the ore, you had a colored text from like grey to white to yellow to orange to red or something, representing the difficulty for you to mine it. Grey/white was always a success whereas yellow and orange had a fail chance and red wasn't mineable yet.
"Bleeds are one of the only status effect that cant be removed by healers" you know I never really thought about how ironic that is. Thats probably the FIRST THING you would think they would be able to cure
My all time favourite dungeon is Blackrock Depths. I have done it (full clear) hundreds of times, during classic I use to heal it for fun daily. All dungeons should be that epic!
I fell asleep around the 40-minute mark, if I had to guess? Guess I have good sleep-inducement for the next good while! As I was drifting off, I was able to think, "yeah, I knew that" or "oh? I thought it was because X, not Y, good to know!" and it was SOOOOOO relaxing.
@03:11:30 Priests were considered better ressers because they had mass resurrection before it became a guild perk many expansions later.
@1:18:40 Wall Walking. i did this to the point where i was on top of the AH in IF, as an Undead Aff Lock. i had LOS on almost everyone, but they didnt have it on me. so i would dot eveyone that i could. i did this too much on day. got a free teleport to UC next to Sylvanas, while a GM gave me a talking to. a few weeks went by. i was doing it again, but in SW. on top of the building across from the AH. this time, i was DC'd by a GM and got a message; you have been banned for 4 weeks. Reason: multiple exploits to break the TOS of the game. a month later when i got back online, i got a free teleport to the gates of AQ and all my items were removed from my bags, gold and gear included and it was put into my bank. and i got a letter in the mailbox from the same GM, "all your possessions are in your bank, in one of your factions main cities. That last part, THAT, is what broke me from doing things i shouldn't. that was a very, very long walk back to Org. No mounts, no gear, no gold for a wyvern.
Love vids like this. Dangerous though, they remind me of stuff I loved about the game and tempt me to resubb
BRD was so beyond epic
every everquest dungeon was like that man, it was awesome, but... no instances, so hardcore players were really annoying
@@user-vv1io2hn3s I know what old school Ever quest dungeons are like. very dissimilar.
Gonna be honest, I miss the massive 12 boss dungeons we used to have
Like Sunken Temple
I miss them too, but I think breaking em like they did with scarlet monastery is cool too. You can treat it as a massive mega dungeon doing all 4 in one night or half of it over two nights
I'm asleep right now listening to this :D
You brought me back to the mid 00s with this one! i thought this was an unreleased Paramore song when someone played this for me
3:14:48 "Racial Talents"... there was something resembling racial talents in Vanilla WoW. The Priests got two spells based on their race.
For pvp purposes, did paladin undead moves back then work on actual undead players? I feel all horde undead would have zero chance vs any ally paladins.
I haven’t played wow seriously in nearly a decade any time I think about starting it again, I’m immediately overwhelmed by how I would even do that.
Well then good news! Check out Classic's upcoming Season of Discovery, which is launching at the end of the month on November 30th. With the way it's structured, it may literally be the best time in the history of the game to get back into WoW. Plus, you get the great vanilla world experience with more modernized gameplay for the classes; think WotLK era class design in vanilla.
Retail WoW is much more new player friendly or returning player friendly. And if you do play just remember to wear socks for maximum comfort for your enjoyment
Am I supposed to listen to the 6 hours of facts or sleep? I don’t get it.
I thought Camilla dungeons were the right size.screw tiny dungeons. Hose are just caves lol
This content is amazing please do more of these! This is so helpful to me!
You my man know your audience 😂
Fun fact if you replace hiru voice with mad seasons you cannot stay awake for more than 5 min no matter how hard you try😂
I really appreciate this, I struggle with terrible insomnia and this video format really helps me!
I wish Blizzard would stop" fixing" things. You put a lot of work into these videos. Thank you
Hmm, I'm going to need some space.
*Looks at important memories*
*Removes all academic knowledge I've acquired up to now*
HeKkusisiNJJve 👍
2:30 I literally had no idea about the mushrooms being a guide. I also dunno if we ever had an issue with navigating that section of the dungeon 🤷🏼. Neat bit of info though.
i am no longer a wow dummy 😊
Can confirm that the Defias pillager fireball can in fact crit. I've leveled basically every class except priest in SoD and have been oneshot (or nearly oneshot) by that thing because it crit a couple of times.
That's why line of sight was a very important tactic. As well as other tactics for questing. Playing a mage, I always had to figure out how I was going to CC gnolls or murlocs to keep them from running to get their buddies at 20% health.
God i love the music in the barrens. I spend so much time there it's actually crazy.
I watched the entire video! Is there an achievement for max level watch time reputation!
I love these videos sososo much even if I don’t really play wow much anymore, I still grew up with it and I’m very happy to watch/fall asleep to these! You sure know your audience!! XD
Wacked this on in the background whilst at work and it flew by. Great stuff
Just what I was looking for 5 minutes ago.
I literally fell asleep to this
So 100% no clickbait
6 hours and ads every 5 min to Fall asleep to.
How the f people wouldn't do them more then once ? Imagine your weapon doesn't drop and its a huge boost for upcoming levels.
i'm ready for more 6 hours of random content
i'm kinda unable to play wow for now and these videos gave me such a good distraction
edit: i always forget to write the rest of the sentence
Haha this is awesome, its like a good night story for adults
They should bring back negative stats the idea is still a good one it just has to be implemented better. They could get really creative with it if they wanted tbh. Probably never happen though
*Yawns* 🥱 Okay, time to finally get some dungeon 😴 1:29
This was a wild trip down memory lane. Started playing back in 2005, stopped in 2015 and have just started playing again.
It's fascinating to see just how much have changed during my hiatus.
with the gnomish mind control helmet you would count as a pet so you could use eyes of the beast to control someone for longer, oh and when it ended it disconnect the player
That is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Appreciate how you jump right into it
damn ret pallies were almost good in classic
This had the absolutely opposite effect of falling asleep 😂
You mentioned noggenfogger... my all time favorite run in with this was when a gnome used pygmy potions and dropped a small feast in WotLK Warsong Gulch... then drank a noggenfogger and turned into the deadliest pebble I have ever seen in my life.
Best part was watching people freak out when they couldn't target him.
I've watched the whole thing while at work. There's a lot of stuff being said twice but generally it was a very entertaining video to multitasking to. I personally liked the stuff about wow classic and even beta and the things they wanted the game to be or the ideas they had; the most
I’m loving all these long sleep videos
Finally, some good WoWLogs content
I love dropping my phone or smashing my face with my phone falling asleep to these ❤️
You jogged a memory of my guild homie spazincrazy over a (to me) unremarkable piece of no stat gear. This distant memory isn't getting looked into and could be little off...
Gave him the chain "mail??" SHIRT, found on the shining new Blood Elfý(*the*in😮😮) ](. Most players discard the item making it rare for our servers, as I type this something about enchanting rings a bell ✌️n 💙
It's really funny hearing their design philosophy on dungeons early on. I've been to several dungeons where there just aren't enough drops or even enemies for people to complete the dungeon quests in one go. Wild.
I miss wallwalking, i used to spend my majority of time doing this all over the world. Was great to see it mentioned in the video.
For those of us that played RPGs in the 80's and 90's (Dragon Warrior/Quest, Final Fantasy, etc.), we remember the days of no map at all. It was meant to be an adventure that you had to read. You would go from town to town talking to NPCs and try to piece a story together. Strategy guides were sold separately. And the part about hardware limitation (and internet speeds for that matter)- probably had a lot more to do with decisions being made than people realize. I am still amazed that they were able to get a MMORPG to take off in the early 2000's. People these days don't realize how big of a deal that actually was at that time, now that pretty much every game involves playing with peers. At the time, this was fairly new- especially on a massive scale like WoW. Hell, even playing Starfox with 3 others seemed cool. Jumping on WoW with THOUSANDS of people seemed unbelievable.
fell asleep when it started, woke up as it got to number 1. Brilliant video. definitely going to watch this 20+ more times.
WoW is dead and for good reason. Been playing a month now and the ability to earn silver or gold is very very bad. Lvl 22 paladin “gold farming” over here for FIVE HOURS and realized I only earned 50 silver. I also just realized I need to train from pally trainer, which will wipe out my massive fortune of 3 gold, which I was saving for that 100 gold mount, AFTER I buy the 20 gold riding skill. In total 120 gold is needed. And I have only 3 which will be wiped out after the trainer. This game is really really bad and that explains the horridly low population. I’ll never return to another blizzard game ever again. This is ridiculous.
you're my hero hiru
2:35:00 there were also blue quivers like from AV, which had the same haste bonus as the epic one, just with 16 bagslots instead of 18, huge gold saver.
I started playing WoW during alpha testing, then the beta, then from day one... or at least day two.
I never did the dungeons more than once per character. When they introduced the LFG system, people started doing the same couple of dungeons OVER AND OVER AND OVER again to grind XP, and personally I think this severely undermined WoW as a game by taking people out of the open world content, making dungeon groups meaningless instead of something you had to organize by getting to know people, and by having a generation of players get told "just do dungeons for XP or you're wasting your time."
I honestly think WoW was a better game back in the day because it encouraged social interaction to get through content, and also didn't hand-hold players... If you wanted to complete quests, you had better try to explore carefully and remember what you discover.
46:25 of video.. Miow resistance type. WHY WOULD THEY EVER REMOVE THIS TYPE? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES A KITTY SCRATCH ME!
You don't need to place 1st in the fishing extravaganza to win the trinket--just place in the first 50 regionally (some say globally but I doubt that). I know that sounds intimidating but it really is not. During quiet times, it's quite easy to actually win. The last month of Dragonflight Season 3, the contest went on for over 20 mins, which made it extremely easy for even non-fishers to win. Especially now with the Interact button, you don't even need to see your bobber, so you can even win the contest on super populated servers with a bunch of griefers sitting on fishing nodes.
love this shit hiru
listening to you in this series of vids reminds of old J allen Brack. "you think you do, but you don't" "remember when you had to do this?" "well now you don't because you just click a button and boom it's done." you know, one of those retail andy's that want every part of the game done for them. You want the game to play itself for you. no fun at all.
God I remember when BE Paladins and Draenei Shaman were announced and some people got MAAAAD. It was so funny. Especially since I'd later go on to get a BE paladin my first max level character during wotlk 😂
So next video gonna be 8hours!
I believe the rumors that Furor and Tigole were anti-hybrid classes because classic Everquest made hybrids very niche and unable to perform at the level of any of the "pure" classes. The only exception being Shadowknights and Paladins being better at tanking in the earlier levels due to holding better aggro until warriors were high enough to effectively wield proc weapons. Ironically, they also penalized hybrids with a brutal 20% reduction in XP gain because the developers originally thought hybrid classes would be more powerful, which turned out to be the opposite. It wasn't until the second expansion when they finally removed class XP penalties.
1:59:07 - Perhaps the skinning dagger related to a cross-dressing villain from a 90s movie relates to Silence of the Lambs (just pulling the name from Ace Ventura instead)...?
