At least we got a full cinematic ending for the raid, compared to N'zoth's Laser Beam LOTR ending. So that's a plus. Still wish we could've gotten the Jailer's backstory sooner to make us "sympathize" with the Jailer's motives and reasons for his actions. Still think the Helm of Domination should've kept its original design with maybe a golden/light infusion to go with the new Will theme. And we could've at least seen the soul of Arthas interact with Uther & Jaina, sharing a final talk before disappearing forever. That would've been a better bittersweet ending for Arthas. "My Son. The day you were born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name. Arthas" **His legacy will forever live on and his name never forgotten as it lives within each of us.**
So when the veil closes I just noticed with something… When the veil was broken it shattered like a marble slab falling with “chunks of sky” floating around BUT when the veil is fixed you can clearly see that the sky chunks are still there just being covered with what appears to be a new piece of sky… So does that mean bits of Azeroths sky is floating around Torghast forever?
based on your comment Blizzard just turned into Arthas after receiving Frostmourne and cull the entire Stratholme while also led the undead to the point he become a lich king. Man where is a mod where Arthas name can be changed into Blizzard in Warcraft 3 anyway?
Arthas Menethil: One of the most iconic and important characters in Warcraft lore...and his final arc is appearing as a small, blue orb and being told to fuck off into obscurity lol
@@heyitsmushu7393 The writers never indicated that in the story that they told. Dont write the script for them after the fact to make their drivel make sense.
It's nice that they turned the helm of domination into the crown of wills. It's like a parallel to what they did to the game. Took something badass and awesome, and turned it into complete bullshit.
If only Blizzard would make the crown look more like a King's crown and I wanted the name of the crown to be Liberation (Opposite of Domination) instead of Wills
It's actually kind of heart breaking that they just brushed Arthas aside like this. One of, if not the, most complex and interesting characters blizzard ever brought to life.
@@ssj3theoutsider228 exactly look at illidan, he came back in legion to help your side and got SO much character lore built onto him, but arthas? Just make him a little blue ball that can't talk so fans feel serviced

And the titans just watching while some dude about to destroy the entire reality...Blizz story telling really went downhill once they began milking world of warcraft.
Don't worry we all know that the real Master of the lich king, and the guy the jailor said that divided cosmos will not survive will return together whit arthas and all of his dead minions. His name is the Dark titan Sargeras who wants do destroy all existence because everyone is evil.
guess its bound to the helm... No helm no scourge... a helm without a wielder means unleased scourge... helm with a wielder means controlled scourge... 'shrugs'
Argh! I think after the pre-patch the scourge was somehow contained, even tho we get a quest for kyrian a where we go to ferry as soul from Azeroth who recently died to a bunch of undead ghouls. After that, there is no mention of the scrounge running rampant on Azeroth, and it looks like the scourge is essentially dead now.
@@Athelarius That's constructive thinking right there, would fit well and probably look good. That means you're too good for Blizzard. Pull off a Planetside 2 - style Wrel ascendance. The industry needs all the talent and good ideas they can get right now.

I don't think her giving a monologue by itself is too bad a problem, more that nobody else had anything to say. Arthas caused an insane amount of damage, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to a lot of people and Sylvannas was one of them. But his former lover and old master he struck down have nothing to say? No sorrowful nostalgia of better times? No remaining anger over what he did? No pity for the man that was corrupted by his devotion? No ANYTHING?
Well, as he abandoned them, whey abandoned him. He stopped being a part of Jainas life, and he ended Uters. But for Silvanas - he WAS her life. To the end. She defended her lands from him, died to him, served him, vreak free of him, tried to revenge, when tried to not make same mistakes and in the end - to prevent others from making this mistakes. Basically she vent from trying to get rid of one arthas, to then trying to create a world there never will be born somebody like arthas to then becaming one herself and realising it finally could get rid of arthas - by simply changing her own path. Its poetic really, and despite Sylvanas being one of my most hated characters in the series, despite being full of cliche, and stuff - i think its just right she says this last words. She was him after all. Her very own Arthas to stop was she all along. And despite doing so - it doesnt change the fact that she lived for tens of years by chasing him and his image.
@@mariofan1ish They have already seen him die and have probably moved on. Their concern is for Anduin here, and maybe, just maybe, they've finally had enough of Arthas for one lifetime. Sylvanas is the one who needs closure. Uther and Jaina aren't getting anything out of talking to a scrap of blue mist. And let's not forget: the reason Arthas's soul was torn to pieces was due to Uther's rage and thirst for vengeance. He's likely overwhelmed with guilt and shame. What could he possibly say? Sorry? We're even?
I actually enjoyed BFA, not award winning but I liked it, it was somewhat more down to earth. I think people revise their opinions of certain expansions when time passes, I hated the whole "Warlords of Draenor" expansion to start with, in BFA however that´s probably where I spent the most time.
Glad it helps many keep up with the story. After the last few years, can definitely say Shadowlands has been...interesting. And exhausting. Especially when you consider the four covenant stories and the 9.1 Renown Grinding up to 80. Curious to see where the next expansion leads into.

The Jailer was merely misunderstood. How could you not see that? Sundering reality and making it anew was just a rebound after breaking up with Sylvanas.
Imagine if it was ARTHAS who showed up to Anduin in the end. Imagine if he was able to use up his soul energy or whatever to bring Anduin back. From one prince to another, saving someone from the same fate that befell him. That would at least make his end here a lot less stupid and pointless. Edit: narratively speaking, it's also a problem for Anduin to get bailed out by Varian here when he already had a moment where his father helped steel his resolve back in Legion. The son being helped once by the father is moving and beautiful, the son leaning on daddy twice in a row is sad incompetence.
I 100% agree with the second sentence(about Anduin) but Arthas is one of the Best written "went mad" villains. And if he went mad, he wouldn't like to helo those who were his oponent's even if they were his comrades in the past. Smof course doing it like they did is wasted potential but imo the Best thing would be make his soul do something like saying a threat in the end. Something like "Maybe you won in Northrend, maybe you will win with Jailor, but I the end I will meet all of you and this won't be a pleasure for you all"
Remember kids! Arthas mind controlled and enslaved into being the Lich King? UNFORGIVABLE YOUR SOUL DESERVES DESTRUCTION. Sylvanas CHOOSING to commit atrocity after atrocity because "life hard"? Forgivable she was just girl bossing it.

I love how Sylvannas straight up tells us to forget about Arthas. No. I don't think I will. I didn't even get to play Wrath and I somehow still miss it.

To be fair, Arthas' story has been over for a while. I'd rather them tie up any loose ends with his character instead of somehow dragging him back into the narrative and ruining the character's legacy.
Uther probably didn't say anything because he saw what his own actions did to Arthas after he tossed him into The Maw before Arthas could relieve judgment.
@@jasono312 I think a good capstone to Arthas' story would have been him giving the last of his energy to save Anduin from the mournblade. Instead of Varian, Arthas would get a last conversation with the son of his former friend, leave one last bit of advice for things to come, and then fade away as Anduin is freed.
Arthas - the man, the myth, the legend that probably was the sole reason that many of us actually started and/or continued to play the games Blizzard releases. Without him, there would be no Azeroth. He deserved a far better ending than he got.
I fuckin loved that guy, I don't even played any other blizzard game other than Frozen Throne which remains an absolute classic within the gaming industry.
So you're seriously gonna sit there and tell me that Arthas, who we have now established as being controlled by the jailer, dominated by the same magic that dominated Sylvanas, doesn't get a redemption but she does. Sylvanas gets to be the one to sentence his final wisp to extinction while Uther and Jaina stand by without a word? What a joke. She literally says its not easy to break domination. The undead dude says its nearly impossible, and yet she sits there and blames Arthas.
While I am personally annoyed that they put Sylvanas in a position where she was just randomly evil and in need of redemption, and am equally annoyed we saw nearly nothing of either Arthas OR Anduin's father throughout the entire expansion, I can see why they'd give him the wisp treatment and not Sylvanas. The story is that Arthas actively CHOSE to give his soul away, whereas both Sylvanas and Uther both didn't. Their souls were stolen, and broken. Without souls, their actions lacked empathy or conscience- the typical theme when it comes to missing souls. Of course, they also felt anger and hatred, because why not? There is justification in arguing that their actions weren't correctly driven specifically because their souls had been stolen, and that was not their fault. Arthas, on the other hand, made a choice knowing good and well the consequences. He willingly allowed himself to become corrupted before he picked up Frostmourne, and before he took up the Helm of Domination, and it's arguable that his actions leading up to all of that were selfish as well. Bolvar put the crown on to save Azeroth. Arthas did it because he wanted revenge on Mal Ganis. Remember that he had already selfishly purged Stratholme and driven away both Uther and Jaina because he insisted on doing things his way, rather than taking the time to consider consequences or another means of resolving the issue. He kills Mal Ganis, returns home, and immediately kills his father. He didn't even need the helmet to be controlled. He literally asked for it. His soul was corrupted and fractured long before he reached the Shadowlands. What little of it that remained sentient was likely what was speaking to his father when he finally fell on the Frozen Throne. But that's just my take. I don't know what the hell Blizzard is doing, and neither do they. I won't justify how they're running the show, but I am glad they didn't completely screw over Sylvanas.
@@littilwood I appreciate the take, but my point was that this expac essentially retcons that. Its explicitly stated in Warcraft 3 that Arthas is being manipulated to take Frostmourne and we know once he makes the choice to take up the sword his soul is the first claimed. But this expac just says "yeah its the jailer, he controls all the baddies and its all been according to his design, nobody had choice". Theres other things here too that didn't make sense to me too, like wasnt anduins dads soul erased from existence? For me the entire reason I got into WoW was because it continued with Arthas' story. When he finally dies it seems like he's back in control, he says "is it finally over". Theres room there for his redemption and its just feels like they went the Star Wars route of "letting the past die"
@@littilwood im sorry but i totaly have to disagree, specialy with the stratholm part . Only thing you know all the food is infested with it or let it be our water . Suddenly you have no other choice than to purge that city and burn it to the ground. Thats what Arthas did to asure the rest of humanity is safe. Its a hard choice to make but its an important and right choice.
She's just a crazy b*tch even when she's not dominated. The writing couldn't be worse and the one that's doing it must be a weirdo no doubt about it. Why does she get a redemption when literally everyone in the game and in the real world hates her, but we don't get one for Arthas who we all love? Arthas, just like Garrosh in essence did nothing wrong. There was just collateral damage that was innevitable and both fought hard for their people.
Guys just remember, this is the ending of a story that begun in warcraft 3; arthas got disenchanted, the jailor quit because he got tired to farming anima, sylvanas is still alive and "good"
the problem with 2020 modern writing is that no woman can be bad, if Sylvanas were to pay for all her crimes, all of her famboys would cry and feminists would say that she was punished by the patriarchy
The retcons! Frostmourne was a tool used by Ner'zhul. BUT WAIT, he got it from the Legion, and it was their plan. BUT WAIT, Yogg'Saron was behind Arthas' corruption (somehow). BUT WAIT, the helmet and Frostmourne was a plan from the Jailer *all along*. Blizz needs to just stop. I feel that the fate of Arthas Menethil is one of the most unfair of all the major characters of WoW. He was rash and hot-headed, but he was a servant of the Light. A loyal soldier. Why did the Light not take at least the "good"/gold half of his soul like it did with Uther to at least try to save him on some level? Why did the Light simply abandon him? Why would it not respond to his call in the Maw, like it did for Anduin? ...are we nothing to the Light unless we are nearly perfect? Why would it abandon a loyal soldier to such a fate? The only true failing of Arthas was his inability to physically and mentally conquer and resist the very mind of the "devil" himself upon foolishly picking up a cursed blade. Everything from that moment on simply was not Arthas as himself. He died there that day. He was nothing more than a puppet from that moment onward to the moment of his second death upon the top of ICC... and yet that meager level of human failing rewards him with a lifetime in the Maw. A lifetime in the Maw in its worst state and then eventually infused into a blade of the sort that took his own life and used to do further evils.... sigh... the very worst part... only to be ultimately released for but a moment. Just a single moment of freedom as but a puff of formless anima. He has to spend that moment, his only moment being truly himself again in some way, being chided by some other equally damned and fucked over piece of shit about how worthless and forgotten he is as his final essence burns up leaving him gone and forgotten. Never again able to consciously exist, throughout ENDLESS eternity, for little more than the crime of being a hot blooded, but well meaning idiot. Light... save... me... but what I am about to say next is the truth. If this were real and actually happened to/around me, I would teach my children this man's name and story. I would teach them to teach it to their children and so on for so long as I lived. (Cause I'd be a wizard and live a long time and... shut up okay...) I would do everything in my power to make sure that the name Arthas Menethil was engraved into as many stone and iron surfaces as possible and that it rang loud and clear for as long as possible into the unending night so that the universe might never truly forget. This so that those in the future might have a countenance in Arthas as the ultimate example of what not to be as a person, but also that it be known forevermore that the Light once failed and abandoned one of us to the eternal Void. The whole deal is just... fucked. How do you roll a harder 1 in life than that?
Arthas did the Culling before ever even hearing of Frostmourne, and if you read the books about him he was also a pretty big dick even before the events of WC3 began. Of course, most of this was because he was very young and very privileged, but he was no holy warrior even before being manipulated. Uther and Anduin both very much are.

And there may come a day when you forget the faces and voices of those you have met along the way. On that day, I bid you remember this… That no matter how far your journey may take you, you stand where you stand by virtue of the road you walked to get there. For in times of hardship, when you fear you cannot go on… The joy you have known, the pain you have felt, the prayers you have whispered and answered - they shall ever be your strength and your comfort. This I hope - I believe, here at memory’s end." Look fondly upon the memories that we all have made in this wonderful universe, and do not linger on the shadow it has become.

"A Cosmos divided will not survive what is to come." This from the guy who apparently has been pulling the strings on everything since the WC1. He orchestrated Sargeras' betrayal of the Titans and the creation of The Burning Legion. A Legion which went on a campaign of conquest and destruction across countless worlds. Which eventually found and corrupted the orcs and unleashed them on Azeroth. Here we get the events of the RTS games, culminating in an undead plague (which he had a role in creating) sweeping across one continent while a Legion invasion ravages the other. Then comes the events of WoW and it's expansions all orchestrated by him to culminate in Sylvanas ripping apart the magic hat. Just seems a bit odd that a guy who spent the past few eons spreading conflict and chaos across the cosmos would say that only unity can stave off "what is to come." This is what happens when you approach a game like this with a "make it up as we go" mentality to story writing. You get things like The Jailer somehow being the mastermind behind every major plot point in the franchises history which would mean that his stated motives don't match his actions. "The Cosmos must be unified to survive what is to come! Yes, I now that I apparently foresaw some great coming darkness that threatens all of creation, but why should I tell anyone else about it? Why give these people who I'm apparently acting in the best interest of any kind of warning against the thing I'm trying to prevent from consuming them all? No, instead I'll spend the next few eons ensuring that strife and war are spread across the cosmos despite the fact that my last words to my buddies before they imprisoned me were "A cosmos divided will not survive what is to come." "....P.S. Also apparently all my friends will completely ignore the cryptic warning I gave when asked why I did what I did and they'll never make mention of it again to anyone, especially not a random group of god-slaying mortals."
The Jailer: i will destroy azeroth Also The Jailer: i wanted to destroy azeroth to save the cosmos from a big threat known as... *disintegrates into a dead robot*
They just need to stop adding new masterminds that were secretly behind the old masterminds. Not everything needs an Old God or Titan behind it. Not every Deathwing needs to be a servant of a higher power, just let a Deathwing be a Deathwing.
Just look at what Putin is doing right now... trying to colonize Ukraine and sell it off as unifying the nation and defending it from n*zis. I see a lot of parallels with the Jailer character tbh lol. It's supposed to be the flaw in the Jailer's logic which is why we disagree and wage war with him.
I would've been pleased if arthas somehow was rescued form the maw and, right when the heroes are about to be beaten by mal'ganis, steps in and finally kills the demon himself. Would've made sense since arthas' and mal'ganis' rivalry goes way back, and would've been a cool redemption move and a satisfying ending. Besides, arthas said he'd hunt mal'ganis to the ends of the earth, and the shadowlands seem like a pretty "ends of the earth" dimension.
Jailer about to put landing blow, camera is in front of him, a sword pierces his heart. "What......are... you doing....?" - Jailer "Succeeding you, Zovaal." Jailer drops dead, Arthas stands supreme behind, does a lil pose, kisses Jaina, then sits on throne all badass.
You know what? You're right. If Garrosh got to have a moment like this, feels like Arthas should get one too. Garrosh's moment didn't try to redeem him, but DID celebrate the parts of him that were admirable, and this seems like it would have done something similar without even needing to change the basic arc of the story as they designed it. Simply a missed opportunity!
Arthas is literally blizzard , great story driven to the point of a small flicker through time . Though alot has happened you will still be remembered as the GOAT
Why cant blizzard ever just let the villain succeed .. that would make the story interesting going into the next expansion.. obviously azeroth dieing would probably not be good for the game but... like damn at some point a villain has to get away with something. The jailer is Thanos except he didnt get his snap off.
Thanos comparisson is so spot on, could have reset the world and had a time heist exactly like it and go back to when it was about the aliance and horde straight after. Stuck to Azeroth like they always should have.
You do realise that this entire expac was Jailer winning at everything. He disrupted the Shadowlands, escaped the Maw, stole back his power, corrupted Anduin, and reached his end goal without us being able to be much more then an annoyance. This was the first expac in a long time where I felt a sense of urgency at defeating the final boss.
"Never again will a Lich King reign in ice crown" Lol that still kills me, way to retcon the big expansion everyone liked. But yeah Zhoval is a dumb villain. May the name "Shadowlands" fade to darkness
Shadowlands had so much potential... And blizzard didnt even use 1% of it. It's so sad. I'm still wondering what Talanji, Alleria, Vereesa and many other characters are doing in SL
@@pedrogrillo Necromancer class for next expansion. They rise up and help control them now to prevent that from happening... lol jk. Even that nonsense I just spouted is too creative for the modern WoW team.
3:30 my god, every hair on my arm just stood up when Anduin said "Arthas..." and Arthas My Son plays... i haven't played WoW since Cataclysm, but that theme still hit me right in the feels.
When [Illidan/Sargeras/Zovaal] saw the threat posed by the [Burning Legion/Void/10.0 Threat], he was forced to take drastic action, betraying the [Night Elves/Titans/Pantheon of Death] and creating the [Illidari/Burning Legion/Mawsworn].
We also have the [Night Elves/Dragon Aspects/Nightborne] who have to give up their [Immortality/Aspect powers/Nightwell] to aid in the defeat of [Archimonde/Deathwing/Gul'dan]. Plus, we also have a trail for [Garrosh/Sylvanas] where Tyrande is the prosecutor, and despite a fair judge like [Taran Zhu/Arbiter Pelgaos], the offender still escapes permanent punishment.
Now remember folks like Ion said, This was all planned from the beginning and they totally didn't skip a patch so what we got was what they wanted to give us. Imagine the BBEG of and expansion having less than 50 lines throughout the whole thing.....
So overall, Sylvanas opened a door to shadowlands and kidnapped the most popular characters. None of those characters died. Sylvanas got her soul complete and the big bully died. The whole expansion made 0 progression on the story.
Am I the only one that was upset over the treatment of Arthas? No final goodbye from HIS LOVE JAINA (standing RIGHT THERE! and she had a arc in BFA about her guilt!) and his master Uther not being able to say final words to him. What a utter disappointment!
You know that hauting theme at 06:05 exists since 2008. It's the original Acherus theme. The music that plays in the background of Ebon Hold. Simply called Ebon Hold General Music. @@El-Dorado930 I feel like you're simplifying the whole "Arthas is the Lich King" situation, it's really not that simple. Arthas, like other Deathknights and followers of the Scourge, is placed under hypnosis and is forced to do the Lich King's bidding. It overrides his own will. We don't even know which parts are really Arthas' and which are from Ner'Zhul. All we have to go on are some clues like Arthas' child spirit underneath ICC in Icecrown.
@@robertsandee3349 Nah. Blizz made it clear that Arthas consumed Nerzhuls soul when he put on the helm of dominantion. That's why Nerzhul wasn't in the maw. He wasn't 'mind controlled', it was all him. Anyway, this was just bad writing by Blizzard because of the ambiguity.
My son. The day you were born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name, Arthas. My child. I watched you with pride, as you grew into a weapon. Of rightousness. Remember, our line has always ruled with wisdom, and strength. And I know that you will show restraint, when exercising your great power. But the truest victory, my son, is stirring the hearts of your people. I tell you this, for when my days have come to and end. You, shall be king.
I will remember him forever as the deepest character in the WoW lore who never had the redemption he would have deserved. I will remember him in a time where lore was good as i could never accept things such Sylvanas'fandemption arc or Arthas'soul evaporation.
The redemption Arthas needed was having him use some of the last energy he had to save Anduin from the mournblade. That's it. That's all the writers had to do in order to give a meaningful ending for him. And it would've better explained his.. simply fading at the end, having genuinely given the last of himself to save another. He couldn't save his people, but just this once.. He can save someone else's.
@@krel7160 Heck, they didn't even need to do that, just show Arthas in front of Anduin, say something like "I will not fail this time", put his hands on the sword, then have Anduin do the splitting thing.

I will always remember his ascention to the Frozen Throne as his most epic moment ever, not the aberration that you have made with him in this expansion.... Years of a good character.... Destroyed in a few seconds... I will never forgive Blizzard for this
Destroyed in a few seconds? Arthas was defeated once in Frozen Throne and again in Lich King. To plot rez him again would be to erase those victories, player victories. I thought this was perfect--he goes out not with a bang but a whimper.

Sylvanas: Even though in the end you were being controlled just like I was, I get redemption and you don't. Lul may no one remember your name hurr durr
The scene with Anduin genuinely makes me feel emotion. Out of all the side stuff I’ve done helping him, feels good. I just wish Arthas and Jaina or even Uther got to speak.
Yeah, that scene carried so much weight, and the voice acting is A++++, but I agree, that right there is all of WOW in one scene almost, and so little was sad, and by so few.
Even if Arthas couldn't make a return they could've had his soul appear for a few minutes so Jaina and Uther could talk one last time with him before he fades away. A bittersweet ending for Arthas.
Yeah that's the only scene from here that did anything for me. Probably because it was the only little bit well done. Until they cut to the Arthas soul part and slip right back into horrible writing.....
What a horrible fate for him. Arthas. He went through all that in life, and in death, and then after death his soul was tormented, and slowly devoured until he was a single candle flicker. Then after facing those that he wronged, that sliver of his soul doesn't get a afterlife... nor even the comfort of oblivion. His sliver of his soul just ceases to exist entirely... and history won't even record his name. Damn... that's brutal. The most legendary Final Boss of warcraft... What a terrible end.
Arthas died at the end of wotlk and World of Warcraft with him. As a character he made such a big impact on me for reasons... That goes for a lot of characters in series and movies lately too. RIP
The last scene of arthas being freed from the sword and sylvannas saying that arthas will be forgotten made me cried sooo hard, and I hated it!, I hated this expansion, blizzard wasted a strong potential character to be redeemed but noo... Being mind controlled = bad. Committing atrocities after atrocities and genocide = not act of evil and has the right to redeem them.
I think this expansion could have been great, they didnt need the jailor, they never did. they had a story in front of them, the idea that after being cast into the maw arthas' soul could have become even more corrupted, that perhaps arthas' soul could have been corrupting the rest of the shadowlands and the goal would be to put his souls to rest. that would have been far more compelling.
This would've made a lot of sense too thematically. Cata and MoP were kind of vanilla expansions/overhauls. WoD and Legion had ties to TBC and then BFA and Shadowlands had ties to WotLK. Now we have Dragonflight which again is about an expansion of the vanilla game and a bit of a callback to Cata with the Dragon Aspects.
Just remember while you are painstakingly trying your best to write a college thesis or best selling novel, not only does this expansion exist, someone was PAID to make it. same with the Disney writers who were paid for the line, "Somehow Palpatine Returned."
4:35 the worst written character in the history of this 30 year old series telling the best character to fade and be forgotten is the perfect encapsulation of how mind blowingly awful Shadowlands is.

Hiya Folks!

When the veil was broken it shattered like a marble slab falling with “chunks of sky” floating around BUT when the veil is fixed you can clearly see that the sky chunks are still there just being covered with what appears to be a new piece of sky…
So does that mean bits of Azeroths sky is floating around Torghast forever?

@@johnzackarias11 its weird but an enemy giving you rest seems a lot more impactful in a story like this than a loved one...especially an enemy that you yourself ruined being able to let you rest speaks volumes.
Sorry? We're even?

No, let's give all dialog to sylvanas that basically curses him in an act of hypocrisy so grand it outshines them all. Good work blizzard, you gave everyone's favorite villain and hero the end YOU deserve, to be forgotten and never mentioned again.
To be fair, Arthas' story has been over for a while. I'd rather them tie up any loose ends with his character instead of somehow dragging him back into the narrative and ruining the character's legacy.
Jaina just had an expansion where she was flying a boat around being the ex-machina for the story

@@shep9231so the jailer must be SUPER dead 😅
Imagin in reallife todays time , everyone who gets covid-19 dies and you have no medicine or antivax to help it AND you die in merely a few hours AND its not detectable in the human body.

(Cause I'd be a wizard and live a long time and... shut up okay...)
I would do everything in my power to make sure that the name Arthas Menethil was engraved into as many stone and iron surfaces as possible and that it rang loud and clear for as long as possible into the unending night so that the universe might never truly forget. This so that those in the future might have a countenance in Arthas as the ultimate example of what not to be as a person, but also that it be known forevermore that the Light once failed and abandoned one of us to the eternal Void.

"A Cosmos divided will not survive what is to come."
This from the guy who apparently has been pulling the strings on everything since the WC1.
Just seems a bit odd that a guy who spent the past few eons spreading conflict and chaos across the cosmos would say that only unity can stave off "what is to come."
This is what happens when you approach a game like this with a "make it up as we go" mentality to story writing. No, instead I'll spend the next few eons ensuring that strife and war are spread across the cosmos despite the fact that my last words to my buddies before they imprisoned me were "A cosmos divided will not survive what is to come."
"....P.S. Also apparently all my friends will completely ignore the cryptic warning I gave when asked why I did what I did and they'll never make mention of it again to anyone, especially not a random group of god-slaying mortals."
The Jailer: i will destroy azeroth
Also The Jailer: i wanted to destroy azeroth to save the cosmos from a big threat known as... *disintegrates into a dead robot*
They just need to stop adding new masterminds that were secretly behind the old masterminds. Not everything needs an Old God or Titan behind it. Not every Deathwing needs to be a servant of a higher power, just let a Deathwing be a Deathwing.
well your efforts to summarize make blizzard look talented.
Also, we still dont really know what did he even do that got his friends so mad lmao
"What......are... you doing....?" - Jailer
"Succeeding you, Zovaal."
Jailer drops dead, Arthas stands supreme behind, does a lil pose, kisses Jaina, then sits on throne all badass.
I'm glad they did that, so that we can forget this expansion ever existed
Short recap of the expansion, Tyrande is ok now, Sylvanas is not cunning anymore and Anduin was forced to ripen up by a fever dream.
yep, this makes the Afrasiabi theory more plausible
@@barator03, can you elaborate, please?

addoons can solve that
You literally still can.
theres a chrome extention that shows the dislikes like before
I cant wait for the machinima and fan made videos so we can get a proper ending to this calamity.
Am I the only one that was upset over the treatment of Arthas? No final goodbye from HIS LOVE JAINA (standing RIGHT THERE! and she had a arc in BFA about her guilt!) and his master Uther not being able to say final words to him. What a utter disappointment!
I love the respect Varok gives to his son with the quote "let it be finished" as his son said before rushing the lich king
You know that hauting theme at 06:05 exists since 2008. It's the original Acherus theme. The music that plays in the background of Ebon Hold. Simply called Ebon Hold General Music. It's incredibly fitting for anything haunting. I still listen to it sometimes..
I had to edit this. Either I put in the wrong timestamp or the video changed XD?
So, Anduin is so weak that he needed two pros like Varian and Varok to put some sense on him.
Argh! At this point danuser can write anduin being gaped by wrathion while silvanas and jaina eat shit of each other’s faces and he would still keep his job.

What happens to you, Warcraft????
I'm currently writing a sci-fi/fantasy book, if there's something that i learned with these last expansions and character development, is that i don't want to fck up my own characters and stories the way blizzard did.
Shame how they did Arthas like that. He deserved to comeback and help defeat Zoval
"Begone then, Arthas Menethil, may the last whisper of your name fade, and be forgotten."
Literally everyone: Lmao no.
Is this how Blizzard handles their best character? I'm speechless. Arthas didn't deserve this.
He did. He was a mass murderer. Do you wish to celebrate that?
@@El-Dorado930 A fictional mass murderer with the best writing and their most popular character. Also it's debatable whether it was him or Ner'Zhul who is responsible for all the killing, with contradicting evidence.
@@El-Dorado930 That's their retcon with the newer expansions, which is why I ask why they treat their best character in this way.

Your version of these events is just soo awesome, and yet heartbreaking in the best way.
Blizzard failed everyone with this sacrilege.
@@FBI-ju5no Seriously! All they had to do was replace Varian with Arthas! That's it! :(
@@krel7160
Heck, they didn't even need to do that, just show Arthas in front of Anduin, say something like "I will not fail this time", put his hands on the sword, then have Anduin do the splitting thing.
@@FBI-ju5no "This curse is not yours to shoulder, son of Varian. I may have failed my people then.. but I will not allow his to falter."
Couldn't even put Arthas on a proper invincible? Had to give my man the undead horse...
Why did you do that to Arthas??? I cant believe it...
@@alphablitz1024 saying to Arthas "may no one remember your name" seems a good end to him? Obviouslly you did not play Warcraft 3 19 years ago, Arthas did not deserve that end... And if you think he did... You are as trash as Blizzard writters
Sylvanas: Even though in the end you were being controlled just like I was, I get redemption and you don't. Lul may no one remember your name hurr durr
@@alphablitz1024 yeah thought that too. Was really cool how it ended tbf
What a nice trade. No good ending for Arthas and an endlessly rambling Sylvannas instead... quality content everyone.
@@Athelarius The truly missed opportunity was not having Arthas be the one to save Anduin in the vision, rather than his father.
Arthas will never be forgotten

Man I wish they made a better ending for him
He was still a monster controlled or not. And he deserved his pathetic ending 😂😂😂😂. And so nice to see arthas pathetic fanboi crying.
Arthas soul is like the WoW. The last flicker and now nothing. This expansion is the Ginger Expansion. It has no soul. -CopperCab
Blizzards announcement at 4:42 to forget Arthas, well we won't fck ya!
At this point, even if the Jailer ended up becoming Handsome Squidward in the finale, I would have considered that a *better* ending.
"You can have anything you desire"
Can I have my two years back?
When he reverts back into an automa, is that an indication that he was a titan construct? or did the first ones create all of them?
I don't think the writing team has an answer to this question.
Yes. That seems to indicate that possibly all the rulers of the shadowlands are constructs.
