    It has been a slow start to the pomp run for me. Yesterday was a pompano sit on your butt instead of a pompano run. Hopefully it will pick up soon….. Great tip on using the rod trick as a strike indicator. I’ll give that a try this week. Great vid Sean.

    Great video and fishing. Just an observation and suggestion - we don't have Pompanos in the Pacific Northwest. Closest we get is probably the Red-tail Surf Perch. Similar sized, maybe a bit smaller. But one thing we like to do to preserve the meat and flavor of the fish is to cut the gills or tear them BEFORE putting it in the cooler. It helps to bleed the fish, letting it pump most of it's blood out. The difference in quality of the meat and flavor is worth it. I would do this in a bucket of water, so you don't mess up your cooler.

    • @TheLawlessTide
      @TheLawlessTide  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah, i always bleed my fish that i am keeping. Shrinks the bloodline and makes for a milder flavor.

    • @earllarson7289
      @earllarson7289 8 месяцев назад

      @@TheLawlessTide Good to hear. I thought you might, just seen so many vids lately where they throw their catch right in the cooler. I didn't know if that was a thing there or what. But I figured I would mention it to get prepared for when I go back down there.

    • @TheLawlessTide
      @TheLawlessTide  8 месяцев назад

      @earllarson7289 you gotta be careful showing bleeding the fish if you are monetized, it'can get you flagged.

    I really like the intro that was some cool drone footage! Have you ever seen a shuffle rake? Larry finch makes them you use your feet to kick up the fleas as the tide surges out. Works really well.
    Haven't been fishing much lately but I waded and gigged tonight got my limit in flounder with one 24" fatty. So I was thrilled going to have a fish fry tomorow.

      Hello John I’m from South Texas and do a lot of surf fishing and I had the same question does fish bite really work and how it looks like gum lol. I recently was given a pack by a good friend to try and to my surprise it really works, I have caught whiting and sand trout so far on them. now with the price of live shrimp going up a pack of pink color shrimp bite cost around $5 at Walmart
