I have to tell you….Although I do love to fish, I’m not usually particularly interested in watching others do so. Your honesty, humbleness, skill and most of all your respect for what you catch make you a pleasure to watch. I believe that even if you had a channel that showed nothing but you shoveling horse manure you’d still receive the love you do on this channel. It’s more about you than the content. (Although I do give you kudos for your content as well.)You seem like a very nice guy and it’s not luck that you do as well as you do. Keep it up. You’re a pleasure to watch.
As a newbie, I appreciate your detailed explanations of equipment and strategy. Your labeling and display of the fish are invaluable. Consider coming over to Dauphin Island.
You know what's great about your videos? I feel like we're out on the beach hanging out and catching some stud blues together in the sun. I'm actually just sitting at my desk avoiding work, but you have the ability to let people just mentally get away for a while and relax. I asked my wife for one of your sweatshirts for my birthday. I'll let you know next week if she came through!
Sting Ray catch and cook sounds good. Also you give great mid video tackle tips as well as gear reviews which I love. However those could easily be other videos as well.
One last comment. One year I was catching a lot of blues and not much of anything else. For a few days for some reason. They are oily. Put some fillets in a glass baking dish. 350. Check them every couple minutes and pour off the liquid. When there done rendering or a little before then take them out to cool and make something like a tuna fish salad with the blue meat. Fresh and delicious!
really late to the party here however I do hope you get a chance to see this. When you have a sand flea take a knife and just poke a very small hole at the back side where the shell is there is a small tringle looking area that you can poke into with out going all the way through. this will allow you to put the hook through with a little more security and will not dull your hook as much as if you were to just push it through the shell.
Awesome video. Thanks for going over the COMPLETE setup description! Also thanks for the careful releases! So many just throw the fish back. Great job.
Bro you are the goat! I’m in Houston and I absolutely love your channel very informative and great to watch. Keep ‘em coming I’ve about watched all of them!
Just a tip about that black slider (fish finder rig) those black ones aren't meant for braid, if you cast them hard enough the braid cuts through the plastic. Look into the yellow and blue harder material plastics. I lost to many weights with that
You do use expensive tackle. I have a Shimano SSG 7000 rear drag saltwater reel that I love. It is huge with 14 drag washers. I use Offshore Angler Ocean Master graphite 11’ and 12’ rods I’ve used for 30 years now. I put 20 lb. blue Yo-Zuri braid on it backed with 20 lb. mono. It’s the first rear drag I’ve ever used in the surf. It caught a lot of fish! I collect and restore vintage surf spinning reels with 175 reels in my collection. Those were very nice blues. Great video!
I’m the same. I don’t ever use more than 3 soak rigs and I have a small little pond rod that I use for artificials. Too many poles is too much work for me. I’m old. Lol
Great channel bro! Down here now in fort Morgan your videos were so helpful being a fresh water guy from TN. What do I do when I want to fish with the fam at the Beach but it’s crowded. Just can’t do it? I purchased a 9’ Daiwa BG combo with a 4500 reel
Another great video glad I bumped into your channel. I don't get to the ocean much but your vids are pact full of info us mountain people can use. Thanks for the effort.
Favorite kind of fishing, thank you for doing different kinds and not just sticking to one style fishing. Keep up the great videos, and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of subscribers
Great videos! I'm 77 & learned a trick from my Mom about blues. She told me to fillet them & soak them in milk for 1 hour plus, if it's very large. I recall watching the oil rise to the surface of the milk. Sweetest fish fillet I ever ate! My dad & I used to catch 20+ lb. blues off shore from Stone Harbor, NJ. Lived in Ocean City, NJ-now in south AL.
Great video!!! Just shows that you don't need a lot equipment to o go have fun! A little hardware a little bait n catching fish gotta love it!!🐟🐟 I'd like to see a catch n cooks stingray. I'd be game to try one if I knew how to clean n cook it.
I just viewed your fishing trip with your mom on the boat. I was just thinking to myself that I've never seen your mom on your boat and surprise there she was. I think it's fantastic that you can share pure fishing adventures with your mom. I enjoy all of your videos that I have seen. Take care God bless both of you. Art from San Antonio Texas ✝️😃🐟
Lovin your channel man, one of the best!!! I am going to be in Alabama next week and will have a few days to wet some lines. Any recommendations on spots to fish?
One of my favorite fishing channels. Great job Stephen. Like budzilla says below, it's your delivery followed by a close second with your great content as well. One of my gotos.
Awesome. Just discovered you Stephen. Thanks for the stingray tip. Very useful. I’m on the Atlantic side. Surf casting has been tough due to king Tides. God bless brother. 👍
just tried sting ray the other day myself, couldnt find anything wrong with it, ya gotta try grilled bbq hard head catfish though, their meat has a natural sweetness to it that makes it perfect for bbq
If you've ever bought 'bay scallops' from a seafood counter, you've eaten stingray. Bluefish is an ideal fish to keep if you grind your own chum and freeze it in small plastic tubs.
I'm always learning from your videos.. I watched a video of yours about a week ago, where you pulled random bait out of your bait cooler. I think a bait roulette would be nice.
I always thought "Sand Fleas" were those things that jump around seaweed on shore. They bite like mosquitos, except it stings a little. Feels more like an ant bite. And you get a mosquito welt. I always called these "Sand Crabs". I had a friend who called it a "Mole Crab".
I’m coming down to ft morgan in mid October, what style of fishing would u recommend? Or heck bring your stuff and do a video with us. It’s me and a few church families coming.
Haven’t fished with any thing like fish bights in years. Didn’t get any action on them but it is nice for tipping a tender piece of shrimp with that 3ozs. Know you aren’t fishing “on credit”.pick up some flounder strips or something leather like next time I go to store. I am not a beginner. But I am in the market for some new gear. I think even veterans and definitely beginners really appreciate all the descriptions of your gear and specifics on stuff like hooks. I hope it helps,Worth a sub & like from me.
Dam good blue! Lady fish. Didn’t know what it was but a buddy of mine caught one late spring last year. North Carolina surf. No minnows around. We used it for cut bait. Just thought it looked good. We did well with it. Seems like a bunch of you gulf guys really like using that stuff for bait. I prefer a mullet minnow. Like the ones that can’t quite escape the cash net. The smaller ones that gets stuck in the net. I’ll throw a big one on there some of the times. Looking forward to trying a big hunk of blue crab with a claw.. Big hook!
Up in New Jersey in may and June 15 pound blues come in to spawn. I catch them on too water plugs. Biggest I’ve ever caught was 16 pounds. They will run you around the bough for 20 minutes
Hey, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and wanted to get into doing this. I actually live in daphne and I know where this pier is. Anyways, just wandering if you could give some advice of what to buy for someone starting out.
Our family has never ate Ray/ Skate but I heard they use small round cookie cutters to punch out round pieces that look like scallops. I seen a short documentary that that's is often sold to/ in America from a foreign country as scallops. Our family loves your videos and my husband gets a kick out if your humility and kidness...any new crabby video's, loved the shark/ sheep head one. Any tips for first time boaters??

Please do a ray catch clean and cook! I would definitely be interested in trying one myself if I manage to catch one next time I’m in gulf shores!
stingray catch and cook that would be awesome

Heck yeah- I’ve never seen a stingray cook!
Great video! Very informative and love all the fish!
Love the video ! I’m in the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. How do I keep the crabs from biting my bait while surf fishing?
I love I can watch these vids infront of my parents and they love you because you are a great influence to me 🙏 thank you

I’ve heard smoked blues are good for fish dip
very good
Yes on the sting ray catch and cook. Always have heard that they taste like scallops.
Great video! Thank you. Makes me want to visit Alabama.
I use the sinker slider as well. Braid eats the plastic up pretty quick but they are pretty cheap.
Lovin your channel man, one of the best!!! I am going to be in Alabama next week and will have a few days to wet some lines. Any recommendations on spots to fish?
Stingray catch and cook sounds good. Looking forward to fishing down there in a month!!

Whenever you catch sand fleas find a spot that is kind of protected from the waves but still has water moving over it. Like behind one of the pilings
I have the exact reel but with a 7 and 1/2 foot rod with 20lb powerpro line and it is just amazing. Stradic FL is my fav for evrything.
Love to see you clean & cook a stingray. I absolutely love your videos! Making plans to down meet you and fish beach, pier and boat!!!
I like how you explain your rigs... great video and nice catch... 👍
Ya stingray catch and cook would be cool
I love your black rod! What brand is it? I have same reel! But it’s 2500 on my 7’7 Phenix feather light rod.
stingray catch and cook !!
just tried sting ray the other day myself, couldnt find anything wrong with it, ya gotta try grilled bbq hard head catfish though, their meat has a natural sweetness to it that makes it perfect for bbq

Great video. Where do you get the color floats on your rigs? Thanks!
Absolutely do a stingray catch and cook
Good video I've been looking for this exact rod but no luck all out. Where was this again the speedmaster.
If you've ever bought 'bay scallops' from a seafood counter, you've eaten stingray. Bluefish is an ideal fish to keep if you grind your own chum and freeze it in small plastic tubs.
yes on the stingray CCC,.just want to see how someone else cooks them.

Stingray catch and cook😁
I love catching blues! Especially on a spoon or lure. They hammer when they bite. Such an aggressive fish. Cool video man. Thanks for the content.
Catch and cook for sure!
Please show me how to clean and cook a stingray. Thanks, love your Chanel!
I’ve cleaned and cooked quite a few stingrays … would love to see the way you do it!

I like the sand flea flavor with orange on one side and white on the other side for the fish bites.
Just found and subscribed. Really enjoyed this video
You're growing so fast, congrats

I have the same rod and recently got a shimano baitrunner 4000 oc for it as a gift. Would you put 20 or 30 lb braid on this combo ?
Great show. " Would love to see the stingray catch n cook

I was there for the first time ever earlier this month, didn't catch much while there but enjoyed our stay.
Would a 2oz luwer and a size 3 weight be good for deep salt water fishing ?
A catch and cook on stingrays would be a good thing. Most people have no idea the best way to cook them, or even clean them.
Dam good blue!
Lady fish. Didn’t know what it was but a buddy of mine caught one late spring last year. North Carolina surf. No minnows around. We used it for cut bait. Just thought it looked good. Really nice blues you caught l love catching them
Do the stingray catch cook clean
Never seen a ray catch and cook, would be very interesting
I love whatching your videos
Up in New Jersey in may and June 15 pound blues come in to spawn. I catch them on too water plugs. Biggest I’ve ever caught was 16 pounds. They will run you around the bough for 20 minutes
Oh yeah! Them cold Atlantic waters produce some huge Blues !
Heya mate, can you give us the tides when you're fishing.
Thanks for picking up some trash. Earned a sub. Great video
Hey, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and wanted to get into doing this. I actually live in daphne and I know where this pier is. Anyways, just wandering if you could give some advice of what to buy for someone starting out.

Love the 1st Cav hat.
I never knew that about the stingrays. I was like nah no way 😂😂. Would love to see it
That is great I miss so much fishing the surf in Florida
Hi. just a question, your weight sliding up and down on the line, does it fray the line at all?
I never have had the issue!
What side of the pier do you like to fish on
We caught everything from cats , to whiting and spades on the pier on cut mullet Saturday night !
