Another fun awesome video. What separates you far and beyond other fishing RUclipsrs is your ability to educate others with tidbits such as how to gaff , free spooling and other tricks of the trade etc… showing your setups and sharing every detail helps us all be better fisherman. Not only do I thoroughly enjoy your videos but I usually learn a little something too…..Thanks
Hey man. I absolutely love the Gulf Pier and have fished it for 8 years now and have been waiting for someone to start a channel specifically for that! Keep them coming man. I love them!
I moved to FL 2 years ago, new to salt water fishing. Learned more from your videos then anybody else out there on RUclips. You actually show the setup the bait what species to target. Thanks, keep them videos rolling.
Really enjoying the videos, I grew up in Mobile and I fished the same water growing up. Did my timein the Navy too. Good on you for the channel and the service
I'm from North Carolina and have fished the coast there but live in the Philippines now with my wife and love your videos and the tips you share.I will have to put them to use here see how that will work for me anyway keep the videos coming always watching and enjoying 👍
Atlantic bumpers and crazy fish are two different species. Bumpers are more round and have a greenish blue back with chartreuse tail and fins with an oil black dot on their tail. Crazy fish are more oblong and silver also Crazy fish have their stigma because they have a poison sack that connects to their belly horns and dorsal fin and causes pain.
I grew up fishing the Gulf in Louisiana, then I spent 18 years in Minnesota fishing for a record bass. I found the easiest way to make a Minnesotan mad is when they ask why I moved up there I'd say, well someone had to come up here and teach you boys how to fish lol. The biggest largemouth I caught was 8lbs. I usually limited out on my way to work in the mornings. Now that I'm officially retired and back home, look out Grand Isle! Great channel, God Bless!!!
You’re videos are always on point. I was down fishing in may and coming again in July. The June weed was thick but fishing was still pretty good. I got a small request if you’re down. Will you make a video of all the knots you use? Again thanks for the sweet videos man. Tight lines
Used to do great bout 15-20 miles due south off dauphin island with a good chum and some ribbon fish. Loved getting into a school of kings or whatever would come along
I was just out there last week not much luck tho. Caught lots of sting rays at the beach house a couple pompano on your rig I got At hooked up. Also watch a shark go after a giant tarpon. 20 feet from us pull the tarpon ashore cause it was floating around us and took some pictures of it. It was a monster.
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks for quick reply. I usually go to the piers in Panama City and Fort Walton Beach but my buddy and I are now thinking about making run down to any piers in Orange Beach area during August or Septmeber
Would my setup be ok to target king mackerel from the pier? I have a 7’6” MH Fast action rod, pair with a Penn Fierce 3 4000 reel. Loaded with 30lb braid. Do you think it would be ok??
It is very fun! And can be anxious/intimidating. Just gotta remember everyone is out there for the same thing and most are willing to help each other !!!
Just curious do you get stopped by your DMR there for fish surveys there? I know in Mississippi we go to a bunch of the boat launches and piers and do fish surveys. Was just curious if you get asked for some answers.
What are the wheels you've got on your cart? I'm looking to replace my orange balloon wheels and only use them on the beach from now on, I'd like a set just for the pier.
They're the standard Fish N Mate Wheels, J&M Tackle used to carry them, but you might be able to pick them up off of the Fish N Mate website : ** www.rodrack.com/accessories/tire-for-fish-n-mate/ . They work much better on hard surfaces, such as the pier, and hold more weight
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks dude! I can live with 70 bucks for a pair! I was gonna get the Grey balloon tires that are more rugged but they're 300 bucks, I could almost have a spare cart for that much lol.

Put in time, nothing beats experience and patience haha. Also, observe those that are actually "catching". That'll help you figure out the best techniques/rigs/etc.
Hello Steven I enjoy watching your videos so much, which has inspired me to go ahead and make a trip down there and go fishing at Alabama State Park Pier this weekend. I'm making a trip all the way from Houston Texas just to get a chance to fish there. Do you have any tips that you would recommend on the tackle to use there?
@bamasaltwater, I'm from Tennessee and really big into bass fishing / freshwater catfishing. I'll be in mobile bay area in the next 2 weeks. I have alot of flukes, fresh water jigs, and crankbaits. What size rod and reel , line , and basic lures would you recommend for saltwater on the pier and what times of day. I'm happy to catch any species, would love to catch and keep. But I can fish at night too. Thanks, - Trent from Tennessee.
Wow how long was that king mackerel? It looked like it was fun catching. Why didn't you want to eat the king mackerel? It sounded like you were going to give him away to someone. That fish sorta reminded me of a wahoo I know that it doesn't have the stripes as a wahoo but it was rather long and bullet shaped. I'm looking forward to more fishing adventures please make more videos. Are you going to take the boat out? Just curious. I don't mind watching you land them on the pier. Looking forward to the next video. I feel I'm right there catching the fish. The Lord continue to bless you with fish and crabs and more people watching you. Janine Draper
I’m in Foley & looking to get into pier/surf fishing. Do you have any resource for when species are in season and the requirements? Also what are some “must haves”?
This helps a lot with the size limits: www.outdooralabama.com/sites/default/files/PDF%20documents/Creel%20Limits%20B&W%20for%20printing_0.pdf . Also , must haves on the pier is a drop net and/or gaff (the net is extremely useful in bringing the fish up). Bring pliers, a measuring device, cooler with ice if you plan on keeping anything, a fillet knife etc.
Enjoying your videos! My son and I will be headed down this Saturday for a week of fishing. We’ve never fished this pier. Where do you get your fresh bait?

What is the best bait to use to catch a shark
One day I hope to catch a king Mack. Crossed off Barracuda (51”) my list a couple weeks back.
They're exciting for sure, both of those species. Except king , tastes just a little bit better haha
Completely agree with the crazyfish, people talk bad about them but I've had good luck with them, caught my PB 70 lb Cobia on one snapper fishing!
Yup! They’re excellent , hardy baits. My favorite for Tarpon 👌
I caught a kingfish about that size on my brother in law's boat first one ever boy were my arms tired keeper too.

not anytime soon unfortunately

300 yds of 30 lb braid
