I'm in Florida and have spent many nights fishing pilings with live bait. Here, the cast is everything. If the bait is 3 feet out, you get nothing. We have found that getting your bait right next to the structure when it hits the bottom is the difference between massive snapper or getting catfish. Yes, you lose more tackle and fish, but it is why others fishing our spots get nothing.
I want to thank you for the RUclips show. I really enjoy watching, but I learn so much as well. I'm from North Alabama, and I learned to peir fish, and I developed a love for saltwater fishing. I purchased a center console boat, but I didn't know anything about what I can keep (as far as rules, regulations and sizes). I plan to buy tackle from your site as well. Thank you for what you do!
I love that you show the gear and the way you fish....and it is cool that you have compassion for the bait and I love that you make sure and get the fish you are not keeping, get back into the water...I am impressed
Hello my friend, it’s Sargent Jim from Nashville Tennessee, Retired disabled Veteran, 7 years, I was raised in Gulf shores Aoand Pensacola Florida, part of my life, mid 60’s till 1974, shrimped on boats all over Florida and Alabama and fished a lot of spots you fish 🐠 great video as always, brings back great memories, I come to the beach 🏖️ a couple of times per year, can’t wait to saltwater fish, thanks for all you do , Jim 🪖🇺🇸🐠🐠🐠
I just found this channel today...i watched 2 videos and subbed...the rig setups and descriptions are awesome...your knowledge of the game laws and your concern for the conservation and catch and release is impressive....glad i found this channel...others would do well to follow your lead
I appreciate you showing your rigs/setup. I haven't fished since I was a kid, and even then it was on a farm pond, so I'm learnin' all over again. There's a TON of info out there, so it's nice to see what works. I live in TX so the coastal waters here are very similar in color, depth & species. Great vid, much appreciated.
Good video. Showing how to fish live bait. What I liked about you video, was taking a minute to show the setup. So important because there’s many different ways and variations. I’m very experienced angler. Millions of fishing video’s out there, but many don’t take a few minutes to clearly show anglers how to rig. I also liked how you properly released a valuable redfish, when you tossed it in head first, it gives the fish a better start and they usually take off at high speed.
Hi bama! Your videos got me to start fishing and ur content is like no other persons. Great personality and even greater fishing! Keep on going brother !!
Love the videos man. Super underrated channel. Should be over 200k subscribers. I really love your appreciation of our ocean. Thank you for treating the fish right.
Hey thanks so much. I love your videos. We are moving to Florida and I am trying to learn about shore fishing in the ocean. I learned a lot. Thanks so much.
I like that you only took a few live bait and not a ton of it. I like the way you go over your gear in each video, the bait, how your fishing it, etc. I enjoy your channel and your videos. See you out on the waters here in LA. Tight lines.
You are one of my my favorite anglers on the tube and i'm on th pac coast. you make excellent judgement calls and species recognition. Great recall of local regulations. As far as I'm concerned an ambassador of your state. I've always wanted to fish the gulf. I would gladly come AL side.
Hey bama last weekend I went fishing in a charter boat and the dude told me about you I’m on my way back up to orange beach right now to go fishing do you have any recommendations on where to go fish at?
How are you liking the new boat? I have a 19 foot Maycraft and last summer started taking it out in the Atlantic to fish some of the reefs and wrecks for summer flounder out of Tuckerton NJ. I have to say I would probably have not gone into the ocean if I didn’t see you taking the Scout out in the gulf! So thank you for that! I just got my boat in the water 2 weeks ago so tomorrow morning I will be out trying for some striped bass. I wish we had the variety of fish y’all do down there to target here! Great video as always!
Water is dirty this weekend. Lots of grass at the pass. Still managed a few keeper mangrove. Saw your bro at hooked up, he helped me out with some jigheads for the dirty boxer! Love the informative content and thanks for posting!
fish that rig all the time on the kayaks pulled some good sharks off of there got a black tip last week fun little rig too mess around on just full of sharks!!
My st croix rod same as yours but a baitcasting rod snapped from the tip about 10 inches while I hooked up a big cow nose ray . This past Saturday 9/10/22 on the boat
I love your video, just wondering are you taking guest in shore fishing? we are planning to go orange beach are in beginning of Nov, want to find a fishing guide to take us, let me know, thanks
Would it be wiser in your opinion to use the swivel and tie your fluorocarbon/monofilament, or tie braid to fluoro/mono directly using an Alberto knot, etc…? What kind of knot do you prefer to tie when tying your hooks / line to swivel ?
I know exactly where you're at. I was just there last week fishing with Captain Collier! I'd like to go out with you some time man. Airborne leads the way!

O
Also a florida fisherman, and I totally agree. The snapper don’t leave the structure because of dolphins
@@iGoldenWax Yup, and jewfish. They are getting much worse here around any structure.
Coming there in late April to fish...does this guy have a charter?
@@nicksmith4604 no sorry bud. Rent a boat and go fish!

What kind of knot do you prefer to tie when tying your hooks / line to swivel ?
For these fish finder rigs with bait, use a swivel. It'll prevent line twist for the most part. I like a Palomar or Uni Knot
Any day fishing beats a day at work!
Fully agree
Looked like a lot of fun
They make really good fish fritters, the lady fish do!
I've seen a recipe similar to Salmon Patties.
