Thank you. I was used to casting with the right hand then switching the rod to the left. Watching you for a minute made my fishing with lures a lot more fluid casting and reeling with the same grip.
Love these budget challenges! What I want to see is a budget challenge at the most fished pond/lake in your area. Some of us can’t get out to the less popular areas and it’s tough !

I really hate how fishing "experts" say you need to spend $300 for a reel and $200 for a rod to go fishing. Dont get me started about $50 for line. These budget stores are great for the casual fisherman.
Exactly now if it’s your job sure but a weekend hobby shouldn’t require you to drop a grand
Yeah if you just want to fish you can for sure save a lot of money, but if you have a specific technique in mind it does help to buy gear you know will get the job done. For instance I’m setting up a big swim bait combo, so I have to know that my rod and reel can handle the torque of a big fish, as well as the pressure of throwing a 1+Oz lure. Tht combo I have spent more money on than any other, but it’s because it has to do something specific and I’d rather buy something that’s got a higher price tag but is known for taking the a use vs a budget option that doesn’t have that record.
I learned how to use a baitcaster with a $60 abu garcia walmart combo lol
@@raenkord7881I have a $100 spinner combo, I’ve been using and catching big fish with for over 6 years now lol. Just need decent stuff that lasts, catching the fish is up to you!

The Lews Infinity baitcasters are also good. I have a orange XFISH one and it is smooth as heck. The most smooth reels I ever owned and I have had it near 2 years now. I will never get rid of it. I got it on sale for 40 dollars and at the time I should have bought the other two that were on the rack. They usually sell for 98 dollars at Walmart. And it has a medium heavy rod. Excellent budget rod and reel even for regular price.

i just got a baitcaster for my birthday and i absolutely love it!! but thats besides the point, ive been looking for a channel that i can watch for tips, but also watch for a laugh and i definitely found the channel i was looking for! keep it up LOJO!!

I bought 2 of the baitcasters from Temu, $13 and $16. Mono on 1, braid on other. Had to tweak line tension a few times to get it right, but would expect than on any new reel. Two setups for price of one is a win for me.
...been told that I am committed for fishing in the rain -- but a Tornado????...lol....love it!!!!!! excellent video; if I had to pick -- would go with the Ozark -- but do love the colors.......

I fish Souygaylang reels $39.99 9 + 1 SS bearings 8.1 : 1 $49 Psicifun Rods $9 braid to PLine leader and catch the crap out of bass with no issues with casting distance or fish handling problems… I even have #65 line on one for my punch rod which is $89 😎. ……. Also have the same brand Spinning Reels So. Ya like to see that challenge / Side by side…. Since I’m a RAIDERS FAN .. The Silver & Black RAIDERS COLORS for the win

Good video..I bought one the Ozark reels 5 years ago and I give it to whoever goes fishing with me and it has never messed up or failed!!! Not the best but definitely worth the money...

Dammit LoJo!!!!! I got hooked on watching your channel and the shenanigans... then this old school walleye, perch and muskie fisherman decided to give baitcasting and bass another go. It's an addiction. The deep V hull is up for sale to get a bass boat and every puddle of water must be explored for potential bass. PB for largemouth went from 2lbs to 6lbs this weekend.

I have to admit that from both an esthetic as well as performance point of view I think the Ozark Trail appeals to me more than the Temu one, and I do a lot of shopping on Temu.

Tried a temu bait caster and noticed the tension would loosen on its own never had so many back lashes on a reel.

I bought the ozark trail one once when I just really needed a new reel and the store didn't have much in stock. I thought it was great for a few days. My the end of my family reunion trip i was on, The handle kept coming loose. I drove back home and replaced the locknut but i noticed the nut wasn't the problem. The main shaft was in worse shape than the locknut. I thought ozark trail knocked it out of the park till an basically unreplaceable part stripped out in about 4 days of light fishing.

Sup lojo, 😊some great bass, when weren't hitting buzz in rain that much, was thinking poping frog lol, commented my experience in your question, id pick ozark trail any day, brother and i got temu reel, i think was $14 each? Mine fell apart on first fish a perch, my brother cought a bass, but his temu sounds like racecar, idk if can handle another fish? Ozark trail combos we got 2 years ago still work, i need another reel lol, finances wont even allow ozark trail.. understand life so can only make videos when can👍, tyvm tc 🎣

Hey lojo as always awesome vid i ordered a spinning real from temu it was a lime color and so far i love it the casting is great with a fast to heavy action speed stick from lews also lime color it would make an awesome video
I really love the Ozark Trail reel!! The Walmart in my area doesn’t even have a whole aisle of fishing gear, so I’ve never seen a reel like that in my store.

I bought two of those Matel Master baitcasters and I LOVE how they look (other than the crap text on the side), and no matter what the settings (unless you really choke it down) it just birdsnests every time. However it's really smooth and retrieves easily. I even bought an ultralight extending rod and reel and I used it to catch some fairly big crappie, bigger sunfish, small largemouth bass, and I even caught a large turtle on it. I just can't get with those crap Chinese rods. The one that I bought is over six feet long and only has four eyes. If I am buying a rod in a store like Walmart (cheaply), Dick's (still cheap, but more expensive), or Field and Stream (most expensive, but stocks the best choice and quality), I'm looking for something like my Team Lew's Ultra Black combo ($300+). I also have a Shimano Metanium DC with a Dobyn's 7'3 Medium Heavy Champion XP rod and I LOVE it, but I hate to take it down to my local spot on the Ohio River. Id love to go striper fishing with it or even some saltwater fishing.
