    I have used Temu numerous times and had great experiences. If you are buying from China anyway, why pay a middle man. Make sure to look at the dimensions of product as the photos are not to scale.I use a bar of soap to lubricate all my telescope or two piece rods. You will find that line really blends in well with the water.

      I have recieved everything I bought on Temu, most of it was exactly as I expected, some high quality, some pretty shitty but was super cheaply priced. Main thing is I got it all. not like Ali-express where you dont recieve it.

    I spent a little chunk of change with Temu playing a "rods and reels for everyone!" game to introduce some family members to fishing. You really need to do a video on the micro crankbaits that are only about one inch long. I think i paid like $5 for a 10-pack! Those little suckers catch EVERYTHING. All members of the bass family, slab crappie and bluegill, channel cats, drum, wallies. You name it.

    I love the Sougayilang 2000 reals with 2lb or 4lb line on them, they are amazing for the price and because the spools are longer, they spread the line out more so that the line twist is not as bad!

      Agree take a sougaykang and use diawa grease 1000 drags under the spool that makes them smooth I have ultegra penn and Abu Zata and the 2500 sougaylang has a smother drag I’ve caught 8 lb strippers And that little reel w power handle and knob does a great job. 20$ reel I put 10. Lb braid on it and even in shore red drum fishing

    I ordered three of the Sougayilang reels and I love them. They are all very smooth and cast great. I've got some expensive reels so I know what a good reel should feel like. They are a great buy for the money. By the way I'm seventy five and have been fishing since I could walk. Temu is not a bad place but you really have to be choosy what you buy from them .
    I just bought a fishing backpack/sling to set up for ultra light bank fishing and the quality of the bag including the zippers and how smoothly they operated totally exceeded my expectations and was much cheaper than an equivalent also made in China option from someplace like Amazon.
    I have ordered from them multiple times along multiple categories and have always been satisfied with what I received for the dollars spent and have always gotten my order way quicker than what their initial date was of my order to arrive.

    I have bought a lot of tackle on Temu such as wopper ploppers, hooks, braid, etc. I must say that i caught a nice 5 pound bass on a wopper plopper but had to change the hooks (poor quality). The braid i bought was 50m 40lb grey and it is properly strong. I live in South Africa and the private farm dams i fish in has a LOT of grass so you need strong line. Biggest fish caught on the braid was 8.25 pounds. Temu's products are VERY cheap compared to the stores we have so i agree with you that it is not unethical to buy from someone who cut the middleman out fir us.

    I use a "line spooler" gizmo similar to the the one illustrated, but I attach mine to a slim broom handle, and tape on a cheap and nasty adjustable reel seat (butcher's tape is good) so that I don't damage a fishing rod by over or under tightening it.

  • @frankbrowning328
    @frankbrowning328 8 месяцев назад +1

    Great reviews! The line isn't going on the spinning reel properly. It should come off the spool and go onto the reel in the same orientation to avoid twisting. The tool should work well on baitcasting reels though.

  • @raymondnorton564
    @raymondnorton564 8 месяцев назад +2

      @thecrazylazycheapskatefish665 8 месяцев назад

      Yes. I clip mine further up the rod so the line passes through at least one or two eyes. Putting some foam or felt rings between the nut and the spool will help put eve attention on the spool without having to hold the line.

    • @dansmidwestangling
      @dansmidwestangling  2 дня назад

      @johnshoemaker8414 the drone is a potensic Atom SE. It's very budget friendly and tough/forgiving, but it's definitely not as smooth as DJI drones. It's still better than having no drone though. The more I order from temu the more I realize it's everything you get from Amazon you just don't have to pay for Bezos salary. White label products like these are made in the exact same factories as most of the name brands anyways

    The biggest problem in most every industry is even though I like doing business with American companies. All of their stuff is still manufactured in China, so what difference does it make? I wish that weren’t true and we had more American made manufacturing in the fishing industry. It’s kind of sad that we’ve all sold out to the Chinese. And it’s not really us as the consumers that have done it, but it’s major corporations that have done it and forced us to buy their stuff be cause there’s no other choice. One company I really like is Z man Baits and they have a big distribution center right here where I live so that does provide quite a few American jobs. Not sure about their manufacturing.

    Better equipment usually helps in a smoother and sometimes more satisfying or even less stressful and possibly more successful fishing experience. In all honesty, a fish can be caught on a hand-held line with no rod or reel. Everything introduced into the gear ensemble is there to make catching fish easier and more pleasurable. I have some fairly nice equipment but nothing extravagant. I feel just like any sport, there are casual participants, professionals, semi-pros, and upper-scale amateurs who either feel they to spend a fortune on gear to catch fish, have cash burning a hole in their pocket, or are just plain snobs about high-end gear who just need an excuse to look down their noses at the rest of us just out there having fun with what we can afford.
    I have some Temu gear and I am fairly satisfied with it.
    Because of the horrific price of fishing equipment even before post-Covid prices, I have been planning to start making content on making one’s own lures, tying one’s own flies, building one’s own fishing and boating equipment, and more. I think the angler is getting pocket raped for what should be a pleasant, low-cost, stress-relieving hobby.
    Thank you for posting your review on one possible solution to what is quickly becoming a highly overpriced hobby. It ought not to be that way. It never used to be.

    The line spooler works great if you use it correctly...
    You figured out how to attach it to your rod, but the threaded screw handle piece is only "STORED" in the end of the tool...proper use will have it inserted through the spool, deep or thin, then into the SIDE hole - one is threaded, the other is not - go through the none threaded hole and then thread into the threaded side - this will allow you to add as much or as little tension to the line as you want....It's not rocket science...or maybe it is in Minnesota....

    I always keep 2x telescopic rods under the seat of my truck for just in case. Those rods break easy when you hook to something big'ish. So always keep a backup. They're cheap.
    You sacrifice durability for the convenience of a small enough rig that fits under the seat.

    Salt water reels drags and gears explode. Know What you are buying some things are cheap. Some things are very good deals. You have to know what you're buying. They have some rods that are excellent and they have some rods that are complete c*** You have to know and keep an eye on. What you're buying go tour GO. TUR e Rodge seem to be fairly reliable. We only ble when I'm on the boat.

    G'Day,,Not sure about "Temu",But have been buying from china for a long time and agree,these all made by the same people,,But the mark up when brought to australia,is ridiculous.i mean get a couple of hundred for $3 and here in auz they charge $3 just for ten,,
    as far the reels,have a couple and so far so good,but when disassybled find some plastic gears in side,,but ifin you treat it for what it is,,they will work well,I men paid big Bucks for a reel made in canada,,and Broke the the up and down function with a big fish on, so the cheaper the better,I do find a lot of these reels have far excess ball bearing in them and think they just stick them in so as to brag 14 plus bearings,Brought a couple of rods,the tele scopic ones are alway trouble with the jionts and line runners come off,,and usually made for egg beaters, as the rod curve when loaded using an overhead reel,line rubs on glass when loaded..But have a couple i keep in the boot,(trunk),just in case i decide i want to wet a line,,

    Shopping at Temu is no different than shopping at Walmart for the same imports from China. Even the big-name brands manufacture their gear in the far east. When your shopping in person you can pass on the junk easy. My experience with Temu is to avoid the don't really need ancillary items, like the cheap glitzy gadgets like hook removers etc. The rods and reels offered are really a good bang for the buck for sweet water pond fishing. I do get the impressions that most of their offering are not saltwater worthy.

    Heheh, the famous, "whip it out" telescopic rod style. I was blessed to learn not to do that when I was young on a cheap rod. Shaving your hand (skin off) on the next piece, to close your rod at the end of a long, bad session is never fun.

    why chinese products are cheap?... simple... facttories are subsidized to produce... not taxed!... fees are low, and even shipping is free, because China, even though it ''threatens'' the ''world'' from space... still holds its ''3rd world country'' status to get its exports subsided by the UN (!)
    that's why nobody can compete with them in the ''open market''... they use our taxes, through the UN to make cheap stuff for us... now for everyone who says ''oumf!... Chinese crap!'' I have to remind them what we were saying a few decades back about Japanese cars and bikes! [I was one of them...]
    that gisious abusive circle can break only by pausing the ''open market'' policy... overtaxing their exports to support the local economy... 'cause I'm not paying 150$ for what I can get for 20$...

    This was a good video, but for the love of god man there is an R in the English language!😂 Also the the company with the long S... name that made the reels is actually a really popular budget rod and reel company and they do make some pretty decent stuff for the money. I have a few things from them that I've gotten from the Amazon Vine program and it has all worked pretty good.

    I bought some of the fishing items and was disappointed with what I received. The pictures on line showed good sized hooks, when I got them they were minnow sized. Won't buy them again.
    I ordered a shimano reel and received a crappy plastic reel with line on it already.
    Some of the baits I ordered the biggest size they had and looks like they will work for the bass.
    Be careful what you order. Some items I will not order again. The weights I would order again. Some of my orders were lost in transit so I canceled the order and got a refund.

    "Drop Ships" just means that they forward your order to the manufacturer and they ship it direct to you. This allows the website to not stock 56 Billion items, pack up each item or pay for the shipping to them.
    I think that a lot of items were copied from western brands that outsource production to China. So you're getting the same thing without the name and mark up. Of course if you buy a $10 reel the quality isn't going to compare with a $200 reel. Personally I never spend an amount that I'd have to cry about. But at $1.29 for 10 lures how can you lose ? And you're buying from China either way since western companies started using them way before we did.

    You seem don't know how to use a telescope rod at all.
    You turn each section if it stuck. Not using force.
    The bottom cap is not storage section. It is for you to wash the rod if any sand gets into the rod.
