Treasure Coast Metal Detecting Adventure

- Join me for Day 2 of my adventure on Florida's Treasure Coast. Today we head to Sebastian Inlet for several hours of metal detecting in search of that elusive Spanish treasure. It's cold and windy but we make the best of it and have a great time. I hope you enjoy all the beautiful scenery as we go.
Equipment used: Fisher CZ21 metal detector, Fisher Fpulse pinpointer, and CKG sand scoop.
That's actually a fairly good day for the condition of the Treasure Coast beaches right now. We're still SO sanded in and SO over-detected. The other day I got a quarter and a tent stake and was very happy. ;-)
It was really hard for sure; I was so surprised by it. I’ve found more on remote abandoned beaches!
@@LuckyGin I feel your pain...literally...at least 3 times a week. LOL Next time you're coming down here, ask me how things are first. 🙂 We didn't get any hurricanes this summer and haven't had enough big storms to wash away some of the excess sand to get back down to "original beach". Besides the fact that there are 3 detectorists per square foot down here. LOL

The intrinsic rewards of just being out there enjoying life is what feeds our souls. Oh! And another thing that feeds our soul is seeing your incredibly priceless smile! Blessings!
100% agree! It’s being able to be fully present in the moment and enjoy the amazing world around us. ❤️ Thank you for stopping by with the awesome positivity - you are so appreciated! 🤗🍀
Another wonderful day at the beach with a dedicated detectorist! It is so much fun going out with you on your adventures. Keep them coming Gin!!!
Thanks for joining me for this one Terry. 🙂🍀. I’m going to keep digging holes and chasing treasure because I know there’s something great just waiting for me to find it. 💪🙂🍀
My take on metal Detecting and treasure hunting, really boils down to this: 1. Science helps 2. Luck helps 3. Research helps 4.Experience is greatest teacher 5. But, determination and "getting out there" and digging is the ONLY way you'll ever know if you're a successful treasure-finder/explorer. No "couch potatoes" or "reality games" here.... The treasures ARE still out there to be found....by somebody.... YOU, maybe?
Go get 'em, Gin. Can't wait to see that vid of you next to a centuries-old treasures chest ... overflowing with priceless goodies...!!!
--- Doug, Florida
I love this comment so much Doug. ❤️. I hope someday it will be me finding something amazing but recognize that all those factors have to come together. No matter how each day turns out, I definitely enjoy the journey itself. I always think about the documentary of Mel Fisher and how many empty holes that guy had to dig before it finally happened for him. He got out and kept going even when many would have given up. I figure just keep getting out there and doing my best. Eventually if you dig enough holes something good will turn up. 🙂
Now that's the sound we need to hear 👍
Another great hunt Gin. Thank you for takeing us along. Just returned from Texas where I detected with grandsons and tried to spoil my new grand-daughter. Had a blast. Good luck on your hunts and look forward to watching the next. Remember....it's not what you find....it's what you might find. Take care and be safe.
How awesome Ronnie - I wish somebody had introduced me to detecting when I was a kid. I’d have been detecting my whole life if they had! So glad you are able to share that with your grandsons. ❤️ I’m right with you about it being about the thrill of the hunt itself and the anticipation of what could be next. ❤️🍀🤗
Images are spectacular great equipment I could almost smell the gulf! Crisp clear
Thank you. I love to hear that! 💖🙌🍀
Thanks for taking me on another of your treasure hunts! Hope you find something wonderful soon, I know you spend a lot of time searching and you deserve to be rewarded.
Thanks for joining me for the latest Jon. Something amazing will surely come soon. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the adventure and all the amazing places I’m getting to visit. 🙂🍀
I’m free go where is your hunting treasure 👀🔥
Keep at it Gin !! One day you will do the gold dance 💃💃💃💃
Thanks for the encouragement Liz.❤️. I’m hoping it will happen soon. 🙂🍀
I live on the Treasure Coast, and this is a pretty normal day. You really have to hit it after a major storm or when the wind and waves make some nice cuts in the beach. Otherwise, it is usually pretty quiet out there! Luckily, it is great fun and good exercise!
Thanks for the info. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to try again after a big storm.🙂🍀
I live in Daytona and went to Sebastian on Saturday, i fell the same way, hate to say it, but i'm waiting for a storm or a noreaster to come thru and I'll be back down again.
I'm not speaking from personal experience but I have read the best way to find Spanish artifacts on that particular beach is to wait until a few hours after high tide [yet an hour or two before low tide] on the day after a big storm has come though. As the tide recedes work aling the beach just above the farthest point the water reaches, where the sand is still wet. You'll certainly get your feet wet but the idea is to find anything the storm washed in. There are people who believe the lost treasure galleon sank only a mile or two offshore, at that very location. The artifacts found by detectorists there over the years are nothing less than astounding! You work so hard at it and you keep such a good attitude, even when you find only junk, that I genuinely hope you find such an artifact. I have only one suggestion: When you find that 8" long gold crucifix inlaid with natural emeralds [such as was once found on that beach], keep it to yourself! Do NOT publish video of your find on RUclips! In recent years government has taken to demanding their share of the value of truly valuable artifacts!
I’m waiting for the next big storm - got my Florida detectorist buddies keeping an eye out to let me know when to head back down.🙂🍀
I love watching you hunt treasure, sooo cool!😍
I’m glad you join me for the fun David. I really appreciate you!🤗🍀
Thanks Gin for the beautiful scenery. You found treasure with that sunset. Gold can’t be too far. Keep swinging!
I think of all the beaches I visited this trip, this one was the most beautiful. There weren’t many people and it was just gorgeous. 😍. Thanks for stopping by to visit. 🙌
Just to be on the beach makes it all worth while! Lucky Gin is lucky indeed!
That is 100% right. I love being at the beach so much. It’s beautiful at pretty much any time of the day. Any day at the beach is a lucky day. 🙂🍀
The beach life is amazing! Makes me wanna go scuba dive! Haha
I like watching Gin. Nothing fake here. She finds what she finds. She doesn't plant fake finds like some. Keep posting your videos Gin! 👍
Thank you so much for the encouragement. This comment made my day. ❤️❤️❤️🍀
Great hunt! My Hubby and I go fishing so when I find fishing weights and lures (in good shape), I just bring them home! Beautiful sunset! Have a great week, God bless!
That’s awesome - your detector is saving you money on weights in addition to the money you find! Win-win!🙂. Thanks for stopping by my channel this evening.🙂🍀
Well ... at least you got some good beach time.... thanks for sharing.
Thanks for visiting. I always enjoy a day at the beach, even when there’s no treasure to be had.🙂
You talk about a pretty beach that one is absolutely gorgeous
Hi Gin, good hunt with some cool finds and thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for stopping by to join me Tom. I hope you are doing well. 🙂🍀
Metal detector hobbyists are very helpful for environmental care, I can't imagine if the fishing hook hits beach visitors. Greetings one hobby from Indonesia 👍👍👍
That’s very true - I can only imagine how many people are saved from injuries because of detectorists. Every trip I pull out all sorts of things that could hurt someone. Thanks for visiting and I hope you are having good luck in Indonesia.🙂🍀
You had good hunt and you had some finds and love your videos and good Luck Gin
Thank you so much Jimmy. I really appreciate you dropping by and so glad you enjoyed it. 🤗🍀
What a fantastic Channel you have .. Happy that youtube suggested you to me . I'll be watching your videos for sure.
Great work 👏
Thank you so much! A very warm welcome to you - I’m glad you are here. 🙂🍀
Great job Gin! You were in the right spot digging sinkers, heavy coins, and pull tabs. That means you beat the competition to that spot!!!! You are becoming a pro pinpointing with your detector and your pinpointer! Keep swinging! ⛏️⛏️⛏️🏖️
Thanks Marc. 🙂 I was really hopeful when I started pulling those heavy things, but still a bit too much sand. Looks like I’ll have to wait for a big storm to come through and pull some layers of sand off and go try again. I mean, it will break my heart to have to go to the beach again. 😂🤣🍀
Very relaxing, and cleaning flotsam 🙂A har!,shiver me timbers and looking for buried treasure😉best of luck
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate you visiting my channel. 🙂 It’s nice to leave the world a little cleaner while having fun hunting that treasure. 🙌🍀
Looked so nice there wish I was there looking for something .you are looking good pleasure to watch x
Thanks for stopping by my channel Paul - I’m glad you enjoyed the video and glad you visited. 🙂🍀
Hello...
Another great time on the beach and awsome sunset...
I like how you don't rush your diggs also... Another great video 😀
Thank you Annette. 🙂. I like to show the digs as they happen so the watcher gets to experience what it would be like, and also try my best to share the location a bit too. I’m really glad to hear that you enjoy it. ❤️🍀
Nice video and views of the beach. I live in the Midwest and visit my Brother every few years in Ft. Pierce. He lives right on the beach. Reminds me of where he lives. Beaches are nice there!
*Great video!!! I really enjoyed this one!!! I subscribed!!!* 🤠💰👑😎🏴☠️✅
Thanks so much and a big welcome to you! 🙂🍀
Keep young and beautiful with metal detecting Gin ✔
It definitely does provide good exercise. 🙂🍀 Thanks for dropping by my channel, Gary.
Looks like the Fisher is doing a Great Job, Have Fun !
I’m so pleased with the CZ21, David. If it weren’t for the depth that machine can hit, I don’t think I’d have gotten some of these targets. The more I use my Fisher machines, the more I love them.
Thankful I found your channel. Im heading there in June to do some detecting. Thanks for uploading!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have fantastic luck while you are there.🙂🍀
You are the only RUclipsr that has actually followed the treasure laws and not incriminated herself for the world to see! Lol
Nice finds great day on the beach wish I was there lovely weather. Keep hunting enjoy 🍀👍😊
I’ve got a winter storm rolling in now and boy, does it have me wishing I was back at the beach! Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest adventure Jesse.🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin good luck on your next hunt 🍀👍😊
i loved the beautiful scenery especially when the camera was pointed close up on you!!
god bless you and your discoveries! good luck too!
Thank you so much Dennis. I’m so glad to have you stop by with those positive vibes! 🥰🤗❤️🍀
You go gin im water hound or dan green from northern mi and i like your videos and your HUMBLE kindness and your relaxing music ,
I’m so glad to hear that, thank you.🙂 I really appreciate you stopping by for a visit.🙌❤️🍀
Now you can have a fishing video. Thanks for the ride..
Haha, that’s true. I sure find enough fishing equipment.🙂
where you find lead fishing weights, one usually finds gold. Upon finding a lead weight, parallel the beach at that specific distance. Fun video!
I always get so excited when I start finding heavy stuff - gets my hopes up for the gold. Hopefully next time! Thanks for stopping by my channel Dani.🙂🍀
Luv the beach 🏖 nice finds well done 🏖💙🇬🇷👍
Thanks so much! I appreciate you dropping by my channel with the positive vibes. 🙂🙌🍀
So gorgeous there and you had a nice dig and good time I'm sure!
Hi Tom, thanks for stopping by my channel. 🙂. It really was gorgeous there and I’d definitely go again. (Maybe next time when it’s warmer -haha)
what a beautiful beach! great hunt!
Those were a lot of lead weights. Good job hunting and a beautiful sunset. All the best!
It was kind of fun to find them honestly. Since I don’t live near the beach, it’s not something I find very often. 🙂🍀
Indeed a beautiful sunset. Thanks for sharing that moment. Keep after the treasure Gin. By the way I like the cap. Take care.
Thanks for stopping by to share the sunset with me. 🙂. The cap was a gift from a good friend - one of those people with a talent for choosing the coolest and most thoughtful gifts.🍀
Hi Gin 🥰🥰 beautiful sunset at the end of the video, nice hunting 🤗🤗🤗
I’m glad you enjoyed it Jose, and I’m so glad you stopped by! 🤗❤️❤️
Looks like a lot of fun.
Hi Gin! You have a very addictive smile! Love these treasure hunting videos. Can't wait to get back to FL and scuba dive and metal detect. Great video thanks for sharing! 😁😊🤗 🍀 ☘️ ☘️
Awww, well thank you! I’m hoping this spring or summer to learn to work underwater with a snorkel or hookah kind of thing. (Shallow water since I don’t swim….hoping to change that too! Haha)
@@LuckyGin haha I here ya! It's still fun to go about 6 feet out and us a underwater metal detector! Tons of jewelry there! I'll be in Marco Island or beach in a few weeks hopefully
hi Gin love your channel many great blessings on your treasure hunting journey's
Thanks so much Jason. I really appreciate you stopping by with the positivity and good vibes. ❤️
I love it down there! Hopefully you got near one of the wrecks from 1715
It was beautiful. I was in the right area; many Spanish coins found in that area but no luck for me this trip. Hoping to go back again soon; maybe after a big storm.
@@LuckyGin for sure that's the best time. I've heard that many feet of sand need to come off to make it happen. I hope to be down there too when that happens 😁 Good luck Gin!!
I’m heading there just after Easter this year. Like you I’m hoping for treasure. Thanks for the vid!
Wishing you the best of luck on your trip!🙌🍀
You had a pretty good day at the beach... you have to re-visit during spring break
Yes, I am already scheming to get myself to the beach at Spring Break! 🤩🤩🤩
Gin’s second hand tackle shack? Sounds like a viable business 😎🤣
😂 I could have a little shack at the beach.😂
Nice hunt . Got to dig it all down there . Fantastic finds pop up down there from time to time . Its good to keep a piece of packing foam in your bag for fish hooks so they don't stick you . Happy hunting .
I’m definitely adding some foam to my bag for the hooks - that’s a great tip. Thank you. 🙂🍀
Another good show., thanks
Thank you Sean, and thanks so much for stopping by. 🙂🍀
Not a bad hunt you were on the treasure coast you never what that beep might be gold silver a ring from an old Spanish galleon take care Gun and keep swinging 😀 😉
That’s right - every beep is exciting when you are on the treasure coast! 🙂🤩🍀. Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest video.🙌🙂
Would love to help you clean up the beach, but I'm to far away Gin, enjoyed the video.👍🙂 I want a lucky Gin sticker.
Thanks for stopping by this evening. 🙂. You said you are far away - where do you call home?
@@LuckyGin near the Grand Canyon, just minutes away.
@@lcheerezexplorer - message me your mailing address and I’ll send a sticker your way. 🙂
Great video with fantastic scenery, i googled treasure coast because i wasn't sure where that was and looking for spanish treasure sounds amazing. The closest shore i live near is 90 miles east in New Jersey and i haven't went out there for years. Thanks for another great video Gin!
Yes Bill, it definitely is exciting! It’s just cool that there’s a place you can go hunt where every now and then detectorists really do find Spanish gold or silver. I was so excited to go and can’t wait to go try again! 🙂🍀 (There’s a documentary on Mel Fisher showing some of the amazing treasure he found just off the coast)
Love your sweet Southern accent. Also, your teeth are so white and beautiful! Enjoy your adventures!!!!
You are very kind - thanks so much for visiting my channel and leaving such a nice comment.🙂🍀
All I see is Snow!!!!!!!!❄️☃️❄️👀😝🤣🙄
Dig something for me Gin!!!!🙂👍👋❤️
#Happyhunting
I feel you Jerry - I’m so over this winter weather already.😝. Hurry up Spring! 🌷🌻😍
This was cool to watch because the sound of the ocean.. oh an also watching your skills. I was hoping you pulled up a Spanish coin. Better luck next time.
Thank you Juan. Hopefully I’ll be able to go try again after a big storm goes through next time.🙂🍀
So many targets, so many weights😅. At least you were on the beach, I envy you.
I’m wishing I was back at the beach today. It’s snowing here.🥶🥶🥶
Snow just missed me. Pretty to look out the window. Where oh where is Spring😎.
One of my bucket list places to try.
It’s really beautiful Mathew. From what I learned on this trip, I’d definitely recommend trying to go after a storm. 🙂
@@LuckyGin Lol, it will ONLY be after a storm and preferably a big one. I retire in March and I'll be free to do as I please. Sooo ready.
I love the Treasure Coast. I went to college in Melbourne, and it is very nice there. I am sure the whole areas has grown alot in the past 30 years.
It was tough detecting this trip with targets being extremely scarce. Hopefully the next trip will yield a bit more. It was absolutely beautiful down there and I loved getting to wake up each morning to the sun rising over the ocean. ❤️
@@tomjones2121 you are correct. The treasure coast is one county south of Melbourne.
What a cool video! Nice channel. New follower here. Spanish gold…very cool. Crow✌️
Thanks so much for visiting and a warm welcome to you. 🙂🍀
Good job the ending was awesome and one shiny penny
Haha, at least I got one for you Earl. We didn’t get skunked on the Pennies. 😂❤️🍀
wish I was closer to a beach to do some beach hunting. looked like a gorgeous day to hunt.
I adore a good beach hunt. Totally worth the drive!🙂
Great video Gin,beautiful place,all the best🇮🇹😀💪
Amazing 🌇 sunset
Thanks for stopping by to share the beautiful beach with me. ❤️ It’s always nice to see you drop by my friend!🍀
@@LuckyGin the fishing lure is amazing,i m also a fisherman,😁👋
Gin you might carry a piece of pool noodle cut in half when you are digging around where people fish so when you find a hook you can bury the hook point in the foam so it doesn't get stuck in the bag or your hand or leg. I seen this on another detecting video.
Brilliant suggestion, and one I’m definitely implementing! ❤️🍀
Those coins look so huge in your hands. The quarters look like half dollars : D
All I ever found at Sebastion beach was beer cans and sinkers
I’m glad to hear it’s not just me. I was probably lucky to find the few coins I did.🍀
Watching her vids makes me want to live next to a beach to detect everyday and be the first to detect after storms..🤣🤣 Great vid
Haha, it makes me want to live at the beach too!🙃🍀
@@LuckyGin It would be amazing.. Thanks for helping people like me feel that I'm there through your vids untill I can get there..💯🔥
Hello Gin been so long since I've seen your vidioes glad to be back
I’m glad to see you pop back by!🙂🙌
Yeah! Another Lucky Gin video!
Thanks for stopping by D.B. I hope you enjoyed the hunt; it was cold but beautiful. 🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin Anywhere you are at by definition has some beauty to it simply because you are there in my book.
This was fun!! Great finds....well...maybe not the pull tab!!
I ended up doing 5 beaches on the treasure coast and it was so interesting how different the finds were from beach to beach. The pull tabs seem to be ever present though. Lol. Thanks for joining me for the adventure Johnny. Always so nice to see you! 🤗🍀
Keep Swinging that detector You'll find Something Good eventually, You have to Dig'em all to find Good Stuff Happy Hunting Gin
Thank you Keith. Maybe the next trip to the treasure coast will be the one with my treasure chest. :)
@@LuckyGin I Hope So, Maybe I will Find One too the Next Time I go, Good luck and Happy Hunting
With that first one I was thinking 'I hope she's not wearing a ring.'
Haha, yep I’ve totally seen people do that! I never wear any jewelry on my hands when detecting for that very reason. 🙂
Sebastian is a great place to look for Pirate Booty!! Best of luck Gin
It certainly was beautiful. I’m heading back again after a storm comes through to see about that pirate booty again. 🙂🍀. Thanks for stopping by my channel.🙌
@@LuckyGin best of escudo luck!!! 🍀
Looks like it was a bit chilly. Good luck Gin. Thinking about going out myself today 45 and rising .
It definitely was chilly. I had to go buy fleece to wear because I hadn’t anticipated it being that cold. If you do make it out today, I hope you have some luck and find something wonderful.🙂🍀
Hi i see you video from Cartagena Colombia very good
Hello my new friend from Cartagena! Thank you for visiting my channel! 🤗🍀
@@LuckyGin thanks to you amiga
Love metal detection at the beach ⛱
Me too, Chris. I never tire of beach hunting.🙂🍀
Love the beach hunts!
I really do too.💖 If I had to choose only one type of treasure hunting, the beach would definitely win.🙂
Bath Tub Beach is a little more to the south :) , looks like your having fun
What is bathtub beach? Inquiring minds want to know. 🤔
Gary Drayton took it all. Just kidding. My favorite place to metal detect is the beach because the diggin is easy. (Myrtle Beach mostly) Arizona is hard as a brick. lol, so we are magnet fishing now. At least you are in a place where huge treasure is a real possibility! I think I heard of you on Treasure Talk maybe.?? so i came over to check it out. Fun video.
I hope that rascal left me something to find the next time around. Haha 😂 I do love beach detecting too, especially a place like the treasure coast where amazing finds are possible. Hopefully I’ll have better luck when I go again.🍀🍀🍀
great treasure search, always come in peace ✌️
Thanks so much, and thank you for visiting! 👍🙂🍀
Drinking game: every time Gin says “OK guys“ 😃
😂 You totally could! 😂
From what I understand, if you are finding sinkers and heavy items, it may be the same depth and area you may find other heavy objects (gold)? Great job finding and recovering targets, and the notorious pull tab. The one time you skip it, thinking it is a pull tab, it would be a gold/silver ring. :)
All those sinkers had me hopefully I’d find some other heavy items, but no dice. I think about you and pull tab karma every time I dig a pull tab now. 😂
@@LuckyGin pull tab karma! Time to cash in those karma points. 😀
looks like you had a great time..
Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 I do love the beach and always have a great time whenever I’m lucky enough to visit one. 🍀
Great finds well done
Hello Gin! Awesome video!

Awww, thanks so much Rick. You are much appreciated.🙂💖🍀
Looks like a good time!!!
A bit chilly, but I never have a bad time at the beach. 🙂. Thanks for stopping by Bill.🤗🍀
Save all those lead weights. Copper, brass and aluminum too. Over time you’ll accumulate some good money in scrap. Aluminum and lead are in the $1/pound range. Yellow brass $2.50/pound range. Clean copper is pushing $4.00/pound.
Thanks for sharing that info. I’ll start chucking that stuff into bins and see what it comes to at the end of the year.🙂🍀
The F-Pulse is a legendary pointer.
It’s working great for me so far; really enjoying using it. 🙂🍀
Enjoyed your hunt. I got a little tip for ya lucky gin....you don't need to turn your pin pointer on and off every time. Leaving it on while hunting for a few hours doesn't run the battery down much when not being used.
You are right about this - it’s a habit I need to break.🙂
Good times right there!
Always fun at the beach, treasure or not. 🙂🍀. Thanks for stopping by my channel!
Wow that coil is small. My 15” coil on my Fisher F75 hits a quarter over 20” deep. Larger target are over 6’ feet deep! Some almost 10’ feet!
Both this one and my F75 have had me digging some pretty deep targets. 🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin stock 11” coil? Yeah that one will hit a very large metal target like a manhole cover or 55 gallon drum at over 2 m or 6 feet deep. They both contain about the same amount of metal and my larger 15” coil will hit that same large target almost 10 feet. Trust me upgrade!!
The cost of fishing weights is not really cheap. Probably you most valuable finds of the batch.
I wondered about that - some of them are really big! It was neat finding them. 🙂🍀
Hey Gin, that Spanish gold eluded you but I bet you’ll be back down on the coast soon to give it another try. Great video :)
You know it Tony! I’m headed back that way again next month - it’s really exciting to hunt an area where you know genuine treasure could be hiding. Next trip could be the lucky one! 🍀
Saludos amiga muy buen trabajo salieron muy buenas piezas 👍
Gracias. Es bueno verte visitar mi canal, amigo mío. ¡Mucha suerte para ti!
🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️ Good luck with finding some real treasure. Id love to try that area myself one day. ♣️
I’m hoping to go back again, maybe after a big storm so it won’t be so sanded in.
