Always respect a man who has the backbone, to swing the big coils, i started out with the old 15 in, wot coil back in the ninetys, with my sovereign and excal, I also have what I call the beast, my garrett ATX, pulse, with a 20 inch coil, good hunt, goes to show it's all about location, there's always something to be found somewhere, thanks for sharing, sea ya on the beach,🏝🌀🌊
The monster coil definitely adds to the weight and balance of an already cumbersome machine, so it is a trade off. I've found .50 cal shells almost 2 feet deep (it'll go deeper, that's just how deep they were), but a couple hours of swinging that thing sure takes it's toll on my arm! Thanks for viewing the video, and for leaving a comment. See you on the beach!
Thank you so much! I was very embarrassed with my scoop work on a few of those finds. I've always loved The Goonies and have actually done the truffle shuffle in front of Mikey's house in Astoria! The Oregon Coast is beautiful, must be hard to hunt there with all that beautiful scenery as a constant distraction!
Thank you! Normally the Treasure Coast beaches are quiet as a mouse because they are detected very thoroughly. When we get just the right wind and wave action, some good spots sometimes appear!
Nice hunt buddy, I hunt daily here on the treasure coast, I have been very lucky and got some very nice fleet relics, really enjoyed your video and that big coil, you are a true treasure hunter, thanks for the great video, Fireman Jim
Thank you so much Fireman Jim for watching my video! Hunting on the Treasure Coast is definitely not easy! I'd love to see the relics that you've found!
I really enjoyed the video, thank you! I'm in Port Salerno in Stuart, unfortunately I had to pawn my Equinox 800 for bills and lost it. So, until I can afford another machine I will be living vicariously through you lol. Also, if you ever need a free deckhand on the treasure boat let me know! Subscribed as well, keep it up
Thank you for subscribing and commenting. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Nox, that's a great machine, and Stuart is pretty decent hunting grounds. At some point in the not too distant future, I'm hoping to partner with a detector company and do some subscriber giveaways, so stay tuned for that! Deckhands are almost always needed toward the end of the treasure hunting season for the 1715 fleet, so I'll keep you in mind when I get my th boat out there hunting!
Unfortunately, the wind didn't pull enough of the re-nourishment sand off the beaches, but that little cut I found still provided some newer treasures. I was really hoping to find shipwreck treasure, too!
It's amazing how different conditions can be from one beach to the next, especially after a big storm! Thank you for watching the video and commenting. More metal detecting videos are coming soon!
Same thing in Jersey orange or black sand means treasure. Great hunt, lots of info👍Cool plated bracelet, ring. Nice haunted gold bracelet 😂 New Subscriber👋
Thank you for subscribing! It took a long time of detecting re-nourishment sand and finding nothing but junk before I learned how to read the beaches and understand when and where was good or bad hunting, and why. Unfortunately, there are very few times throughout the year that the beaches on Treasure Coast get just the right conditions for good hunting. My wife and I still laugh every time we mention the "haunted bracelet." That was just ridiculously funny!
Thank you for watching and for the comment. My wife gave me that shirt as a present and it is one of my favorite shirts! I think she bought it online somewhere.
That’s the exact place I wanted to be after those storms. Me and some buddies might be down this winter just to say we hit treasure coast. New sub here by the way from Massachusetts, I do a ton of beach detecting and that place looks like a lot of fun!!
The storms mostly sanded areas in or didn't pull enough sand out. It was really beach specific with this storm. Once I found that cut, I felt that that was going to be my best shot at finding anything. Good luck this winter! If you have the time, try to make a trip to the Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum in Sebastian and also the McClarty Treasure Museum, which is at the site of the main survivor's camp along A1A.
Congratulations on your retirement! I hope to go creek dredging in Alaska one day. My treasure hunting adventures began while I was stationed in California. I use to go gold prospecting and have a few nice nuggets to show for it. I'll be posting some desert prospecting adventures soon.
@@lifesatreasure5776 I have a sluice box but I also have a gpx5000 ( not water proof) . I have watched 3 of your videos. I like that your not afraid to say where your at and there is no foul language. Oh I don’t have virgin ears but it’s just nice not to have to hear it when possible. You got my subscription .
Thank you so much for the subscription! You have a great nugget hunting machine with that GPX5000! The Treasure Coast is over 30 miles long and will never be hunted out, and the hunting conditions change from one tide cycle to the next so keeping locations secret doesn't really accomplish anything. Plus, I love it when other treasure hunters are successful. It shows that there is still plenty out there to find! I figure I got all the foul language out of me when I was in the Navy, lol.
Thank you for watching and for the thoughtful comment. My wife is actually enjoying this RUclips experience as much as I am. It was her idea to add the music. Getting me to talk is never hard, it's getting me to stop that is. She does a lot of editing because of this. More videos coming soon!
New sub. Great info on what to look for on TC. I get there once a year. Still hope to hit it after a storm. A week early several years ago and Crossbones found several gold coins 😢
Thank you for the subscription! I know a few hunters who have struck Spanish silver and gold on those beaches, so it's definitely there! Just gotta have the right conditions. Have you considered trying to get on one of the crews as a treasure diver? Divers are usually in short supply towards the end of summer.
Thank you so much for the subscription! I legit thought that my wife had hit me on the head, maybe to get my attention or something. She had never done that before in 23 years of marriage, so I was very confused. We're still laughing about it!
Thank you for watching the video and for the tip. Unfortunately, it is not an "S" mint mark. I will have to go through the other bicentennial quarters I have and check them. As soon as I remember where I put them.
I love that place! The food is great, the beer is ice cold and the view of the beach is excellent. I've hunted the beach there a couple of times too, lot's of bottle caps and tent stakes. I should probably hunt there again soon, maybe the last storm stirred up some goodies! Thanks so much for watching my video!
Thank you for watching the video and for commenting. I have not used a Lorenz. In 2006 I attended a treasure hunting seminar given by one of the greats, Bob "Frogfoot" Weller. I remember asking him about using deep detection equipment such as the two-box systems. His reply was that it would be next to useless on the Treasure Coast beaches because you would have to dig a very big, wide hole to get to the targeted depth. That is in the dry sand. The dry sand on these beaches is mostly renourishment sand, which is very soft and falls back into the holes at about a 45 degree angle. The wet sand wouldn't work at all because it fills in as fast as you can dig it. Also, although it's not really enforced, metal shovels are not allowed on the beaches and digging such a big hole would draw too much attention. Heavy equipment is right out, lol. So for now, we just have to wait for Mother Nature to do the heavy lifting for us.
Great video 👍 you are obviously a Serious Beach detectorist , So I do wonder why ? You are still using a 3030? Which is not the lightest of machines by along way + you use such a heavy large coil also ? Why not use the Manticore on the beach ..??? Goodluck ..😊
Thank you for the compliment! I bought the 30/30 and the monster coil about 10 years ago when I had a nice windfall. It is a great beach machine, and that monster coil goes deep, but it is definitely on the heavy side. I would love to purchase a Manticore, but right now have other financial priorities.
Unfortunately, Sunspot, which made my Stealth scoop has changed hands a couple of times since I purchased mine 10 years ago and I'm not sure they are still available. There is a company in Houston, TX called Xtreme Scoops that makes a similar scoop. A very good friend of mine who is a professional detectorist highly recommends them, but they are not cheap. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching my video and for commenting!
That is a tough question my friend! It depends on the type of detecting you want to do and on your budget mostly. There are many different brands and models of detectors out there to fit your specific needs and at different price ranges. What type of detecting are you most interested in? Beach, underwater, gold nuggets, relics?
Hey Joe! It's been a long time! I'm glad you like my videos. Maybe you can make your way back down here to Florida sometime and we can get some work done on my treasure boat! Keep in touch brother!
I absolutely agree. My wife/editor and I had discussed that, but we weren't sure how to record the beep sound into the video since it's only heard inside of my headphones. We kind of forgot about it until we saw your comment and it got us talking about it again. We think we have it figured out and will incorporate that into the next beach detecting video, which is coming very soon. Please stick around for it, I think you'll like it! Thank you for watching the video and thanks for the tip!
Just showed my grandson and he wants to go detecting now! Thank you for making a kid friendly video.
I'm glad you and your grandson enjoyed the video! There will be lots more coming soon, maybe he can help you find the next treasure!

Me, too! Good luck out there.
Congrats on the vessel! That’s super cool man. The bracelet was cool find.
Thanks Troy. I was watching your coverage of the hurricane, looks like you know your stuff when it comes to storm chasing!
Boy, you earned those finds! Great hunt. I hunt the great North Coast of Oregon, hone of the Goonies. Never say Die!

Coast metal detectors are a dedicated, hearty lot!
It'll sure wear you out in a hurry fighting the wind and waves out there. Beats working any day though! Thanks for watching, and for commenting!
My headphone cable is falling apart , see yours also heading that way , want to try replace the cable soon somehow soon , great vid man!
Thank you for the compliment on the video! Yes, it seems I'm running low on electrical tape, lol! About time for a new set of phones.
Nice clean video they’re getting hard to find. I’m a nugget hunter in Alaska used to live in Fla. just Retired

@ , I’m still a rookie diver, but it would be a great adventure.
It's easier to teach a metal detectorist to dive, then teach a diver how to detect, so you're most of the way there!
@@lifesatreasure5776 thanks for the vote of confidence
