Exactly, thankful he made it through Helene and Milton. Our poor state is really going through it. I am in Tampa and we came through it ok. We are more fortunate than a lot of Floridians. Praying for all the victims of the hurricanes.
I’m up in central NC and the devastation in our mountain towns is just absolutely heartbreaking and the govt hasn’t done much if anything to help. FEMA is basically worthless… sad
Visited Siesta Key many years ago! It is my favourite place ever! And I live in the beautiful Yukon, Canada! Wishing you all strength in your recovery and grief for everything lost ❤ We have all been thinking of you
Glad to hear and see that you and your family and friends are all safe, everything else can be cleaned up and rebuilt. Hurricanes are not fun. Neither are tornadoes.
Glad you are okay and that you didn’t have any damage to your place. Great finds! I hope you get to dig it out before anyone else shows up. Thanks for sharing!
So glad you made it thru the storm. OMG! That one rolled right over you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I think this is your first dry sand hunt I’ve seen you do…..lol. Always a new adventure!
😪 I feel your pain, I lost everything - pets home car photo albums books clothing furniture possessions and long saved mementos - in a major flood in BC Canada, spring of 2018. Thanks ❤ for showing up after all you've been through, good luck and God Bless, take care, our prayers are with you.
Glad to know you’re ok! Florida resident, also, east coast, Sebastian. We have a new roommate due to Helene, poor guy, lost everything to the flood waters. Our poor state has taken a beating, but we are FL strong! Thank you for your content! It brightens my day. 💕
So relieved to see you back posting again. My heart dropped when they said where Milton made landfall and knew it had to be right over your place. So glad to hear you and your family and friends came through it all intact. And your first find: a freakin’ pull tab! Cheers! Lol
Hurricanes usually change direction last minute when they get near land. Its a scary realization when all of the spaghetti models change to go directly over your house!
So good to know you are all ok. It’s painful in many ways to see what’s happened. Be safe. Keep helping one another, it will take time and labor to get back to a little normal.🙏🤞✌️❣️🌀🌀🌀
Nice to see you are doing fine. It was a nice hunt to see the excitement in your voice of finding the old coins and I was rooting for you to pull out a big silver, maybe next time 👊👊👊
So glad you were okay during the storm. I always think of my grandparents who lived in Venice Sands condo in the 70s and 80s, and all the times they were hit with storms and had to rebuild the beach. As always, a ton of fun to watch you dig treasurers! ❤
Glad you are ok. Love your videos and you are part of the reason why I invested in a Manticore. Still haven't taken it out but I will get there one day. Godspeed.
So glad you and your family are ok. Glad your house was fine too. I live in NC. I don't live in the mountains, but our Western NC will take years to rebuild. These hurricanes need to stop! ❤
I've only had great encounters with our men in blue! (Thankfully!!! haha) Most of them love chatting about metal detecting and are always very curious about what I find and where I've been on my adventures
Hello Shawn. I’m glad you and your family are doing good. I’m so sorry about the devastation in your area.so happy you are back on the beach .I have been praying for you and your loved ones to get back to some sort of normal. Sending you lots of hugs from the East Coast 🙏☮️❤️
I'm glad you & yours are OK. I'm on the East Coast & we didn't get much damage at all. A Mercury head dime?? How cool!! I just got a metal detector myself & am watching for any tips/clues you have about how to find treasure.
Do glad to see you on here and know you are OK. I am in NC, about 60 miles from the coast. We only got wind and some rain. Helena went past us and up into out mountains. So much destruction. I hope we have seen the end of hurricanes for this year, we have all had enough of them on the east coast. Good finds today!!
I’m so glad you are ok Shawn! We got hit pretty hard on the East coast too in the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast, the damage was more from tornados, but thankfully, like you, just some cleanup and it missed me directly. Family and close friends are all ok. Keep swinging!
Thank you! I didn't want to share too much of the devastation. A lot of people are hurting really bad right now, and I wanted to give them some privacy. It's really bad down here near the coast :(
I have friends in Siesta Key and Sarasota glad everyone is ok. It is a beautiful place. I found a 1900 Indian head penny this morning up here in PA that was pretty cool.
Shawn im so happy that you are okay! I really enjoyed you detecting 9n the beach. Sad that a lot of the beaches were destroyed but happy you and your family and friends are okay too!
Hey Shaun, Milton really hit us hard. I live in Tavares/Mt Dora area. It is known for its massive oak and tall pine trees. Milton took out so many and destroyed houses, cars and RV's. The winds here were around 75 to 95 + miles per hour. It seemed like it would never stop. Lucky for all of us we survived back to back hurricanes. Let's hope this other storm doesn't develop. Glad your ok. Good luck.
Even though Milton was a direct hit on Siesta Key, I've seen that so many areas away from it's center were damaged far worse :( I'm really sorry to hear about you guys over there
Sean so nice to see all is good at your end. So unfortunate for those storms that have devastated Florida. Been keeping up with the news from up north. Happy to see your finds. Who knows what else might be buried on the beach. 🇨🇦
That's what makes this hobby so much fun indeed! Yesterday I found a Indian head penny, probably not all to interesting for you guys but I found it on a farm land in the Netherlands. I'm thinking maybe an American soldier might have lost it in WW2. For me that's a really nice find.
For me, it's the story of the item that you find. When I found that large cent on the beach, it really got me thinking about what the area must have been like back then. It was totally undeveloped, and hardly anyone lived there!
I was very concerned about you. I’m so happy you’re on here. I’m thankful that you’re safe. I really enjoy your videos so I’m just really happy to see you back.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry but really great to see you and your family made it through the devastation...thanks for sharing the hunt which is very exciting knowing that the hurricane may have uncovered countless treasure. It will be fun to see what you find in Part 2! Hope Ivana made it through safe and sound as well! Don't forget to bring some ice cold water next time just watching you made me thirsty...lol....
I love watching you bc you're so upbeat. Greetings from the East Coast of Florida. The West Coast will recover in time. It's the price paid to live in Paradise 🌴
8:30 Finding regular silver coinage from the 60s in a concentrated area got me thinking. Maybe there was a beach bar in that location in that era. It would really explain the deposit of coins imo Could check plat archives.
I was listening to the emergency scanner police and fire. A lot of houses caught on fire telephone Poles trees. They were all burning. Glad you're o k, you could replace what you lost.
Up here in the North even I get a little excited after finding wheaties because that means silver isnt far behind. Any day you find a pre 65 dime or Quarter is a good day! People dont realize how difficult they are to find especially on public lands. Luckily I had a fantastic Summer discovering a lost park that yielded 14 Silver Dimes including Mercs, Barbers and Rosies. Bonus was the 18k gold necklace but Ive since cleaned that park out. Nice Video
Nice bunch of silvers and older pennies there Shawn, we usually get the tail end of your weather over here in the UK and have some really good tides coming up so hoping for some old silvers of my own, good to see you came through the worst of the storm without to much damage
I think that after these storms, a lot of people are going to rethink their choice to buy beachfront property! Almost every house and business on the island was badly damaged or destroyed by the storms
I have a mine lab detector and I have a collection of pull tabs as well. But when you get a hit of a decent hit like a gold ring it makes it all worth getting trash off the beach with that occasion trophy. I live up the road from ya just south of the skyway. Lost part of my home due to Milton. Happy hunting 😊
Thank goodness your home made it. And a great hunt, which is a plus after the devastation. Today I'll check my cousin who has a home near Siesta Key. 😬
I’m so happy to know y’all are ok. I hate seeing all the damage. Those were some cool finds… makes me wanna know about the people who lost the coins…. We were actually here for Milton. In Ft Pierce. Family emergency… 2 hurricanes in 3 weeks. Heavy sigh 😔
We are in Punta Gorda 1/4 mile from the Peace River. We evacuated with 2 minipoodles that had never been away from home except for vet visits. We camped out behind Walmart (protected from the wind) in the back of a tiny SUV. 23 hours later, we returned with NO damage, although the weather was hyped up about 12 ft storm surge. No storm surge that we could see and just tree damage at neighbor's house. So glad you are OK!!!!!!
We were all so worried about the expected storm surge! My house would have been underwater if the predictions were true!! I'm so grateful that the predictions were so far off!
Really glad your family is okay. My grandparents lived in Sarasota during the late 60s and early 70’s. Wish I could remember the street. Maybe my cousins will. Would love to be on the beach hunting !
Have you ever thought about carrying a small plastic jar with a lid, half-filled with vinegar, to soak old coins? That way, when you're ready to clean them, it’s easier. (For those who know more than me about cleaning old metal, feel free to correct me.)
Just prayers here...🙏🙏🙏...I live in Florida and am blessed to have been untouched this year. My first hurricane was Andrew and you never forget the fear.🧡
I headed East, but I was still in Sarasota. So many people lost their homes and everything that they own from Helene, but I was expecting far worse from Milton. We got lucky
The real treasure was knowing that you and your family and friends are okay. So sorry for the devastation. ❤
Exactly, thankful he made it through Helene and Milton. Our poor state is really going through it. I am in Tampa and we came through it ok. We are more fortunate than a lot of Floridians. Praying for all the victims of the hurricanes.
Thank you so much. Today, I was able to drive through some of the areas that were badly affected. It was really tough to see
I’m up in central NC and the devastation in our mountain towns is just absolutely heartbreaking and the govt hasn’t done much if anything to help. FEMA is basically worthless… sad

Blessings from the East Coast. I hope everyone recovers quickly from this.
Thank you!! After driving through some of the areas that were hit the hardest, it's going to take a very long time to rebuild :(
ThankYou, I left Florida in 2017. Hearing the surf is soothing. I miss that. Take Care, Thank You. Good Luck on your interesting hunting.
