Golden rule (literally) if you think something is gold, then for Christ sake don't keep rubbing it while you're both covered in sand, you might as well use sandpaper, just rinse it in all that handy water nearby.
A bath in vinegar and sodium generally works pretty well. I become a spaz when I see color. I'd make a terrible gold miner. Thanks for watching John. Good luck on your hunting season !
It's gold ffs, the only element that does not tarnish, you think a rub on flesh is going to mark it when it's been sat against sand for hundreds of years. Jeez
From my experience Spanish gold coins come out of the sand and saltwater looking perfect and rarely get stained, corroded, discolored or certainly not covered with a bunch of encrustation. Unless it was enveloped by iron oxidization. Expect we would have seen a closeup and some after footage of it was legit. Very exciting tho.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. Look at the video from Jimmy Crossbones when he found the 13 Gold Escudos from the 1715 fleet in Florida. They look like the day they were lost..not like this one.
Can ya show a close up? It looked to be gold and another color. Could it be plated? Some of the modern fakes are pretty good looking. Have found some here in VA and in NC
I'll offer you the same advice I offered everybody else don't verify anything over a hundred years on a RUclips video or 60% of its property the state. My buddy owned the treasure gallery in the keys for 18 years so I've been around quite a few. I spent several years hunting them from the 1720 fleet. Everything is fake till proven otherwise thank you for watching
@@midnightcoil I lived in Key West for a couple of years and found a fake souvenir Spanish coin that got my heart pumping! Congrats on the awesome find! How do you like the Whites "Sito scoop"? I have a "Sito" too and they seem to be built well.
@@ggazzara1115 we were neighbors I was in islamorada 11 years. Your better off not finding a real in keys. Most is deemed state park they love to toss you fines. Thanks for stopping in happy hunting
@@midnightcoil I love my Sito scoop too, however I don't get to the salt water beaches as much as I'd like. I use it now mostly in freshwater lakes. Yes I know that Whites is no more. Sito made them for Whites, Sito is still producing them with their name and logo on them.
Your actuality correct. Off Spanish ships 1500's- 1700s but created in Mexican mines. Part of history we brush over. Most of the mining then was Mexican good . unfortunately by slave labor
@@midnightcoil when the conquistadors arrived in costa rica they found the gold business thriving. complete with slaves and overlords. They knew 2 things-war and how to dig gold. they were breeding slaves to mine. if you ever get a chance the gold museum in san jose is remarkable. the spanish did not teach them to move rivers and waterfalls. or to dig down 17 feet to the bedrock. the locals had been doing it for centuries all ready. The conquistadores found rooms filled with gold figurines, piles of gold. hoarded, melted down and sent to the spanish queen to fund her war. essentially it was a hostile take over of a thriving gold business. the route of trafficked gold was well established into peru and mexico. thats a nice pocket piece you have there.
I don't recall to be honest this was filmed nearly two years ago. I stop at random sections of each Beach and walk several miles . Thanks for watching.
Hey gentlemen great video!!! Everyone I talk to on here is like no don't get the Equinox 600 get the 800 so I don't know if you guys have used the 800 and had more success with the 800. Anyway I have had the bug for this sh&t for ever and am at a time where I have time to do some hunting. I guess I'm looking for a little guidance. I have got your other friends suggestions "Turn it on and turn it off" other than that I'm lost any advice would be greatly appreciated. Peace Brothers!
If you learn the 600 you can definitely get the same results as the 800. The 800 as a slight tweak with two more recovery speed options in a gold mode that I'd never use anyway. The multi-frequencies they project are both the same. On a side note I don't have any friends with me, I create them in the car to entertain myself. Thanks for watching
It was very hard to see what you were holding because it was so small and you didn’t bring it close to your camera. It didn’t look like a coin but I could only see a flash of gold. Maybe when it’s cleaned up you could show a closer pic of it.
@@christaylor3292 anything over 100 years found in most states in public land considered to have historical or cultural significance . Deemed property of the state. When you film that find your also accepting responsibility. All my finds are for artistic purposes only . 😂
Nice for the state I'm already in a battle for my Roman coins found in another state. Those videos have been removed. Check your local laws most artifacts over 100 years are deemed property of the state. Better off saying everything found is a prop for entertainment. Thanks for watching ! Happy hunting. My Story on the Romans will be out shortly . State of Delaware archiology Dept is working on it. May not turn out good for detecting, but I am in full cooperation. Be careful what you share .
Due to state regulations I'm going to leave this finding as inconclusive. I lived in a Florida Keys for 11 years and have several of them from the 1720 fleet. Silver this would be my first gold.I will leave it at that sir thank you for watching
The way it was encrusted it probably broke off what they call a concretion. When a bunch of coins gets connected with sediment and minerals over time. I found this single silver in my 11 years in South Florida on a prior hunt. No rhyme or reason why there wasn't more guess I'm not lucky or skilled enough to find a bunch
Why cant anyone post videos for educational purposes? Having commercials is not educational it makes the whole video cheap and shallow, without integrity. Just another shtty video.
I have no control of what RUclips jams into the video. I don't gain anything on these videos so it's strange that they do put commercials in. Thanks for watching .
