My first thought was an old "feeler gauge" for setting clearances like on a valve stem or other piece of machinery. A better look at the patent number would tell f0r sure.
The box with a tab on it is a Schick single edge razor blade dispenser. And the flat piece with slots is correctly identified as part of a rubber boot latch/buckle
You can look that Patent Number up online. I couldn't quite make it out from the video. That decanter top is very nice but may have been clear when it was made. The element manganese found within old antique glass will remain colorless as long as it does not oxidize to form manganese oxide. However, radiation from the sun will cause manganese to oxidize. Glass exposed to sunlight for a long period of time will turn purple if it contains manganese. I have an old early 1900's Straight Sided Coca-Cola bottle that was exposed to sun over a long period and it is exactly the same color as your decanter top. LOVE your videos! You're the best! Blessings!
The item at 14:30 is a razor blade refill injector. I had one!!! Just dated myself. The ones I used were Schick. That razor was given to me by my father who was in WWII. Nice Video.
The large timber had to of been brought in from some distance away, the trees in the area of your hunt don't grow tall nor straight. The drone footage was a nice addition as well.
That metal thing that is flat and 5 punches out of it looks like a buckle from rain boots. I had a pair when I was a kid. One side had a tongue piece you put in one of those holes then you push it down to lock it. Depending on which one you choose you can make your boots tighter or looser. I hope that helps.
The drone footage over the water was my favourite part. I had to crank the volume a bit but the player piano in the background was a nice touch. Hard to believe the place was booming at one point. Have a good weekend!
I’m excited about being able to add the drone footage. I’m hoping it makes the videos more interesting for everyone. The location was quite remote; makes you wonder how on earth half these locations were ever discovered to begin with.🍀
The first bullet looks like a pin-fire casing. very rare. Also 2 different calibers musket balls, at least the user was not alone .All neat stuff, Great finds and safe days ~ B
The drone view at the beginning of the video shows the beauty of this country for those who slow down enough to enjoy it. Wyoming is history and beauty combined. Wonderful video!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the drone footage, David. I wholeheartedly agree that Wyoming is an incredibly beautiful place. I so love the remote places and unspoiled beauty.💖🙂🍀
Your mystery item is actually an adjustment strap for pull over rubber overshoes,The other end has a little tab that goes into that to tighten em up,,, love your videos
Loved this video Gin!! Too bad the purple decanter wasn't with the top! That piece is gorgeous! Great finds! Watching you and everyone else in coats in jackets while it's 100 outside today here in Texas is so strange! Makes me jealous! I LOVE the cooler/colder weather!
Great video...thank you for sharing! This brought back a lot of memories for me, as I was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming for seven years (1990-1997). I miss seeing those rolling prairies, and the wild antelope! I came across your channel yesterday, and watched many of your beach outings, and I love your channel! I would love to be able to get out to land like you were on in this video... I'm surprised you didn't find any buckles, buttons, or other1800's items. Anyways, keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing more of your uploads, and I'm glad you had such a wonderful time on your adventure! You have a new subscriber! 🙂
@@LuckyGin The one good thing about the wind here is that you don't have to spend too much time fixing up your hair, each & everyday. The wind will mess it up in no time.
Hey lucky Gin, wish it was still cold here I'm frying, I love hunting old sites you're at a beautiful place out there, cool footage Gin. Keep cranking them vids. 👍🤠
Just had your channel randomly pop up and checked it out. Great content and subscribed! Born and raised in Wyoming, I’ve been rockhounding for as long as I can remember. My family and I go out nearly every weekend “weather permitting” all over the state, truly some great treasures to be found!
Fantastic! I’m so glad you are here. I’m lucky enough to be able to visit Wyoming at least once each year, and love to go rockhounding out there.🙂 it’s an amazing state and I never seem to have enough time when I visit.💖
The harmonica reed is actually a buckle from a pair of "buckle boots". There were 5 or 6 on each boot/galoshe, going up the front. The boots were adjustable by placing the hook in one of the slots . The other item is indeed an injector razor blade dispenser.
Great finds Gin!! I absolutely love the decanter top!! I love the crosses on it!! Very cool!! If you ever decide to sell it, will you let me know? Love the half horse shoe!! Of course that's because I own horses. I like the muskat balls!! Those were cool!! Beautiful country out there!! I hope to visit out west sometime in my lifetime!! I would like to ride horses out there!! Keep the videos coming!! Love-em!!
Thanks for popping in and joining me on the latest adventure, Jodi. Every time I’m out there I think how cool it would be to ride horses there; maybe at some point I’ll be heading to a spot that’s so remote you have to go by horse. That would be an adventure!😍🍀
It is a Schick single edge injection razor blade holder. You stick the flat end that is bent into the razor and slid (pushed) the new blade in and the old blade out. It has a space in the back to put the old blade.
Love the Drone footage! You found some good stuff Girl! The smaller ball thing with the Round Balls you found looks like a Buck and Ball. I found a few at a Ghost Town here in Texas. Not 100% sure, but that's what it looks like to me. Have a GREAT weekend! God bless!
do you ever find indian arrow heads, oter atrifacts at a location like that..while digging maybe by accident,or just happen to look down while walking .any way that would be pretty cool also.
Your ariel photography is excellent. It's a really cool place to be metal detecting. Congratulations on the musket balls and the three-ring bullet. Square nails were created from the late 1700s until about 1830. I think they not only help date the area but are interesting relics in themselves. Today, we take nails for granted. However, back in the 1700s, nails were precious. People would even burn down unused buildings just to get the nails. As others have stated, the box with a tab is a probably Schick single-edge razor blade dispenser, probably 1950s+. All in all, one of your best hunts.
Thank you; I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the drone footage. I go to some incredibly beautiful places and wanted to be able to share the experience with others. I’ve never heard anyone mention how rare nails once were. Thank you for sharing that. My love of metal detecting has opened up so many new chapters of learning when it comes to history. Hey there! I just subscribed to your channel. I like the simple, honest approach you have to metal detecting on your channel. It is a great way to spend the day and have a little adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of cool finds. I would think you would find some old coins but maybe they have been picked up already. Maybe that bucket of dirt will turn into something good!
Howdy Gin!!! That piece with the writing on it, patent pending etc, looks real old, even 1800s, jmho. Love the drone action, the mine entrance, that was really cool. Out on the range like you were would figure bullets and shell casings lying around. I'm still waiting to see you pull up that awesome old gold coin. Great show!!!
Hello my friend, and thank you for stopping by to check out the latest video.🙌🙂 I don’t think I’ll be able to contain myself the day I finally find a gold coin, but I’m very much looking forward to it.🍀🍀🍀
Hi Jenny, sorry that I am a year late, my brother Juice sent me, Juice, in who to I refer as, the Juiceman!!! recommended that we check out your channel. I am glad that I did, and I liked what I viewed, such as, I enjoyed things about our past history, like old, abandoned buildings, old, abandoned mines of all kinds and old abandoned towns plus, old battle fields for metal detecting. Basically, I think old items and old structures are cool, and there may be some interesting things to uncover when you metal detect those old places. I just hope that they are not metal detected all out! but it is the thrill of the hunt and getting out. KUDOS to your channel, I just subscribed to your channel and will view your other videos, Greg the Egg. PS, the one item I believe, that you found, if you can recall back, is an old razor blade refill suspenser for the old-time shavers.
I always wanted to shoot the piano player in those cowboy films I still do ! Heehee. I am Scottish and I usually watch the mudlarkers finding things on the Thames England and Northern mudlarkers from Britain who are daughter and mum team finding all kinds of old bottles etc, they also make jewellery out of their finds. Thanks for your vid , great to see dry land 😀
injector for changing razer blades / the long thin part opened , released the blade in razer head so new blade could be installed from the square box !
You were in Lewiston Wyoming on Strawberry Creek, and then the Sweetwater River. There was gold found there, but a lot of "salting" occurred and worthless claims sold. The Hidden Hand Mine was up on the hill with a very large ore mill.
Definitely it was working, but still struggled against the extreme wind depending on how I turned. There was a couple times where it literally almost blew me over!
Razor dispenser, they were used to insert a new blade while pushing out the old blade. The handle looking portion is actually should be hollow but may still have some old blades in it so be careful.
I think your mistery find is a single edge razor blade holder. The extended portion pushes into the razor then when you slide a new blade in it shoves the used blade out while it's still in the razor and you've just replaced the old with the new. From the looks of it, you may have one of the very first ones made. Nice job
Love your videos!! The glass stopper with the lavender color was probably just clear glass. If exposed to the sun for many years the older clear glass will turn that color.. it is common to find old lighting balls on roofs to have changed to that color. Enjoy your great adventure.
Good Finds out there in the Wild West so far, keep Swinging and Digging and You'll get Beyond the junk, that Copper thing is an old Razor blade Dispenser, Happy Hunting Gin Stay Safe Out There🍀
Nice to see that you have someone who knows how to take good video camera pictures & lets you do all the talking in your videos thats what I like to see. Some of the other guys that take metal detecting videos are not very good at it & they need to learn to move there cameras slower. I like watching your detecting videos & I always give you a thumbs up. I see you have the same detector that i just bought last month & I love the way it operates. I see you were talking to the richmond digger I know that guy hes new to detecting out here in Richmond. The drone camera work is very well done. Keep up the good work & good luck on your finds.
The cameraman will appreciate your comment. He does a great job and I drag him all over in some extreme weather conditions. That F75 detector is a good work horse; I’ve had a lot of fun with it this year.🙂
The object that you found was a "single-blade injector device" (for shaving) that was prevalent in the days before the double edge blades became popular.
It sure is, David. I love how you can just walk right up to the edge of a river there. They don’t have to fight through thick underbrush and battle trees the whole time.🙂
It was tough going for the people of those times long ago,I like to imagine the history of the pieces you find..old abandoned towns like that would have long forgotten graveyards of the souls who lived and died there.. where were they from and where did their people go after they left the place.. just came across your channel, enjoyed it, thanks Gin ☘️
I especially marvel at how incredibly hard it must have been for the first settlers. It’s fascinating to find the pieces from their lives that give you a tiny glimpse of the things they had. Thanks for visiting my channel!🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin it would be fascinating if there were any old pictures of those old abandoned towns as they once were but of course cameras were a rare item then ,the pictures we paint come from the discoveries you make, keep up the good work ☘️😊☘️
The ball ammunition that includes one ball the size of buckshot suggests a civil war load called "buck and ball", which was two rounds of buckshot with one ball. American civil war was a long distance from Wyoming. Maybe Indian Wars relics.
That's not a horseshoe part, that's a shoe half for an ox. It seems your Western trek has been very exciting so far. I hope it exceeds your greatest expectations. It's nice to see you detecting in an area near where I grew up it brings back lots of memories for me. I know right where you're at I was there a couple of times.
It's amazing out west you see browns and greens colors everywhere then you see this little yellow flower that puts so much color in a drab environment. No telling where that big timber was shipped in from. The metal strap with slots in it looks like a boot strap the other item after that was a single edge razor blade injector. It held several blades inside the handle and you would use it to push one blade out while injecting a fresh sharp blade back into the razor handle assembly. The cartridge you said had a wire sticking out of it might be a very rare pin fire firearms cartridge but I'm not sure because the cartridge has a rim and I don't know if pin fire cartridge had rims. I will send you a DM and I will see if you can send me better pictures.
I’m always fascinated by the colors in the west. On the surface it does look kinda drab, but the you get out hiking in it and there’s so much color. I especially love the cactus flowers. I need to go through my finds and look closer at that cartridge and take some pictures. It was odd with that wire.
The item is a replacement razor blade 'injector' cartridge. These were sold back in the early 50's to early 60's. I do not remember the manufacture's name. The tab would slide into a slot in the back of the razor head, and the slider would inject a new blade while simultaneously pushing the dull blade out the other side.
Hi Gin, just subscribed, found a pair of 1930s Rubber Galoshes on US eBay for sale. Nice picture of the buckles in situ. Take a look. We find those in the UK too. Most think they are harmonica reeds. So thanks to those who id’d them here as buckles for rubber boots/galoshes. Very useful. We pull up similar stuff here except that we also pull up stuff from hundreds or thousands of years ago if we get lucky 👍👍👍 I will correct the UK guys
Fantastic! I’m so glad you are here.🙂🙌🍀. I would never have guessed that was off boots, but it seems to be the case. Amazing the things you learn from metal detecting.
@@LuckyGin Yes, same here, I learnt a couple of things from your dig. I suspect there are some epic items out there and a hoard or two. I recently found an early medieval gilded hooked tag about 1200 years old on a beach I have done many times with little luck other than musket balls, and various bullets etc much like your haul. 👍👍👍
Another mystery item. I'm glad PBfirearms knew what it was. I recognized it as something I found years ago, but I had no idea what it was. In that arid area I'm surprised the round balls were that deep.
Hi from EVE in the UK, just found this video, very entertaining thanks, I can't help but thinking you sound very much like Dolly parton, looking forward to watching more of your videos 👍
I'm excited to see where you go in South Dakota. The town I live in and a neighboring town are both redoing their main streets. I'd love to detect the dirt they are moving. There has to be lots of silver coins and relics in there.
I’m bummed about South Dakota; I ran out of time and didn’t get to go there this trip. I’m hoping to head west again toward the end of summer since there were still so many places I wanted to go and hunt.
Thanks!
Thank you so much Mike! What a nice surprise. 💖🍀
My first thought was an old "feeler gauge" for setting clearances like on a valve stem or other piece of machinery. A better look at the patent number would tell f0r sure.
The mystery item looks like a razor blade dispenser….
Injector razor
Single blade dispenser
Looks like a blade dispenser by I don’t remember them being copper unless the first ones were
I remember when disposable blades were sold in that type of gadget. I think they came with 5 blades.
I remember my Granddad used those..
The box with a tab on it is a Schick single edge razor blade dispenser. And the flat piece with slots is correctly identified as part of a rubber boot latch/buckle
Thanks for comment coming from a peer viewer. Never seen a dispenser as such but did sense mechanical action in some fashion.
No fair ! I thought it was a Jewish harp ?

It's not always about the finds but the memories will last forever, see your still wearing Camo..🙂
That’s why I do it - for the memories. Finds are great, but it’s the exploring and adventure that thrill me.🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin Trust me I know what you mean after 25+ years of metal detecting/treasure hunting myself. Memories are everything.
Welcome to big, wonderful, WINDY, Wyld-oming!
It definitely lived up to that on this trip!🙂
Razor dispenser, they were used to insert a new blade while pushing out the old blade. The handle looking portion is actually should be hollow but may still have some old blades in it so be careful.
I think your mistery find is a single edge razor blade holder. The extended portion pushes into the razor then when you slide a new blade in it shoves the used blade out while it's still in the razor and you've just replaced the old with the new. From the looks of it, you may have one of the very first ones made. Nice job
Thanks for weighing in on that Steven. I appreciate you stopping by my channel.🙂🍀
I lived in Wyoming for a while, your having a no lean day, no leaning into the 40 + mile an hour wind day 😅. Great video ...
Love your videos!! The glass stopper with the lavender color was probably just clear glass. If exposed to the sun for many years the older clear glass will turn that color.. it is common to find old lighting balls on roofs to have changed to that color. Enjoy your great adventure.
Thank you Terry.🙂. You’ve got my curiosity up now and I have to google these balls you mentioned. I’ve never seen/heard of them.🍀
I would love to metal detect an area like that nice relics a three ringer bullet thanks for sharing take care and be safe 👍 😀 😊
That topper was an awesome find! 🎚
Thank you; I thought it was really cool.🙂🍀
Good Finds out there in the Wild West so far, keep Swinging and Digging and You'll get Beyond the junk, that Copper thing is an old Razor blade Dispenser, Happy Hunting Gin Stay Safe Out There🍀
Nice to see you pop by Keith.🙂. It’s been fun to have the chance to find some rare relics.🍀
Keep those vids coming Gin. Its the only way we know that Big Foot did not get you. LOL!! :)
It would be like the ransom of red chief; Bigfoot would pay someone to take me back. 😜🤣😂
@@LuckyGin I never read the Book: The Ransom of Red Chief Gin.!!! But if I were Big Foot I would take you back. :) hehehehe!!!!
That F75 detector is a good work horse; I’ve had a lot of fun with it this year.🙂
Awesome hunt! Thanks for all the videos!
Thanks so much, Tim. 🙂🍀
The object that you found was a "single-blade injector device" (for shaving) that was prevalent in the days before the double edge blades became popular.
Thank you; much appreciated. 🙂🍀
It was good hunt gin and you had nice finds and done great job with your video and I enjoy it to. have great Week and good Luck to you.
Thank you my friend.🙂 I appreciate you stopping by to share the latest adventure.🍀
Very nice video. Wyoming is a lot different landscape than what we have in the south
It sure is, David. I love how you can just walk right up to the edge of a river there. They don’t have to fight through thick underbrush and battle trees the whole time.🙂
Great finds Gin,, Keep up the good hunt.
Thanks my friend!🙂🍀
It was tough going for the people of those times long ago,I like to imagine the history of the pieces you find..old abandoned towns like that would have long forgotten graveyards of the souls who lived and died there.. where were they from and where did their people go after they left the place.. just came across your channel, enjoyed it, thanks Gin ☘️
I especially marvel at how incredibly hard it must have been for the first settlers. It’s fascinating to find the pieces from their lives that give you a tiny glimpse of the things they had. Thanks for visiting my channel!🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin it would be fascinating if there were any old pictures of those old abandoned towns as they once were but of course cameras were a rare item then ,the pictures we paint come from the discoveries you make, keep up the good work ☘️😊☘️
Back again. If the streams are any indication you could have been near a mountain man trail with muster ball finds.
The ball ammunition that includes one ball the size of buckshot suggests a civil war load called "buck and ball", which was two rounds of buckshot with one ball. American civil war was a long distance from Wyoming. Maybe Indian Wars relics.
That last artifact is a modern razor blade "injector". It holds multiple blades for injection into your razor handle.
Thanks Frank! I appreciate you stopping by my channel.🙂
Thanks Irwin. I appreciate you.🙂
Hi the white little button is a old one that the lady’s wore. It’s more like made out of Ivory. Cheers
The item you asked about is a Gillette razor blade dispenser, the tip on the end removed the old blade then inserted a new one
Thank you! I appreciate you weighing in on that.🙂
Wyoming is so beautiful! Would love to go back one day
I adore it and go at least once a year. Such a beautiful place!🙂
@@LuckyGin I have always loved Wyoming and Montana. They are both very gorgeous states with a lot of history.
We pull up similar stuff here except that we also pull up stuff from hundreds or thousands of years ago if we get lucky 👍👍👍
I will correct the UK guys
I live, dig and detect in Wyoming myself. There are good finds along the Overland Trail.
I wish I could have stayed longer this trip. There’s just so many good places to hunt. 🙂🍀
@@LuckyGin Yes there are.
That bullet casing I think was a old pin fire type civil war era.
Hi from EVE in the UK, just found this video, very entertaining thanks, I can't help but thinking you sound very much like Dolly parton, looking forward to watching more of your videos 👍
Hi EVE, thanks for popping by to join the fun. You must have a very good ear for dialects because I actually hail from the same area as Mrs Dolly.🙂
The grill piece looks like a draft control of a wood stove but only briefly saw.
