You won't find a more wholesome dude. Arguably the greatest high school athlete in American sports history. No controversies, always humble. To have his skillset and to remain so reserved and live with such humility showcases how emotionally intelligent he is. This is how every man should aspire to be, minus the generational athletic talent of course because we can't do anything to replicate that 😂
Thankyou Joe for what you did for the team. And thankyou to the Mauer family for what you all do off the field. You are in our hearts from Anoka, MN veterans community.
Thank you Joe for being an important part of my life as a lifelong Minnesotan and Twins fan. You are not only my favorite player, but also one that I model myself after.
I regret not seeing all the incredible things you did on the field. Partially because of the location that I lived, and mostly because it hurt every time I saw a Twins uniform. Being a lifelong Atlanta Braves diehard fan. I will never forget the hurt that team caused me by beating my Braves in the World Series decades ago. I was never a Twins fan, but I recognized you were an outstanding hitter and backstopping Joe!!! Congrats man, and welcome to the Hall!!!!
Thanks, guys! Ahhh, yes... those were the best days... sitting out on the lawn or the deck, listening to Twins baseball ⚾ (especially when it was extra innings!)...
I'm an MN kid that is a lifelong Tigers fan, but Mauer was always one of the most feared hitters in the AL central. A true talent. Always loved competing against the Twins in those days. Great speech!
St Paul certainly has its share of hall of farmers. In addition to Joe Mauser joining Dave Winfield, Paul Molitor and Jack Morris is Cooperstown, Herb Brooks and Phil Housley are in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
A friend offered tickets to me. They were in the first row behind home plate. He gave the choice between the Saturday or the Sunday game. I chose the Saturday game. When Saturday came around, I learned the Twins were sitting Joe out, and I was bummed out that I could watch Joe behind the plate, but still enjoyed the game. The next day, Joe was back starting behind home plate, and I was at home watching the game. And wouldn't you know, that was the game where Joe hit his first major League home run. Exciting to watch at home, but it would have been much better sitting in the first row watching and hearing that ball come off his bat. Welcome to Cooperstown, Joe. It's been an absolute joy watching you play the greatest game ever created. Forever enshrined. Well deserved.
"Mauer is the only baseball player who can hit into a double play with no one on base"-my eighty-nine year old grandpa, a lifelong Minnesotan and Twins fan
Just imagine his stats if he swung at that first pitch FB down the middle over his career. Just 1 in 10 at bats woulda meant lots more stats. Dang, dude was solid.
Joe had a great career, and he shows great humility in giving credit to all those who helped him in his journey. I grew up in Minnesota, and I've spent the last 30 years in Costa Rica. I realize that Rod Carew and Tony Oliva played for Minnesota before Joe was born, but their presence in the Hall of Fame as former Minnesota Twins, should possibly have been taken into account by Joe. Rod Carew is Panamanian, born with so many strikes against him, and the same for Tony Oliva, possibly the last Cuban to leave the island before Fidel Castro closed the door in 1961 for players to leave Cuba legally. I think that Joe should have been sensitive to that, having them present as fellow hall of famers.
Maurer had such a great vision and sense of the strike zone.He rarely popped out and seeing the ball so well he hit the top of the ball invariably. Not getting under the ball mean less home runs.
Umm no. Bilateral leg weakness and taking the first pitch with the bases loaded and the game on the line in the playoffs yeah no. Kirby Puckett is the face of MN baseball.
I’m a lifelong Minnesotan. I congratulate Joe Maur on his induction into the HOF. But in my opinion he isn’t even one of the 20 best Minnesota Twins players
Greatest at being a dbag. Gimme Maurer everyday. Played the game the right way, and always treated not only his teammates, but also opponents with the upmost respect. Would much rather have a player and even more importantly MAN, like Joe Maurer representing my team and city. Good for the twins and their fans

An all time Twins legend! We love you Joe!
First role model athlete that wasn’t from a Philly team. From one catcher to another, you are a legend to me forever. Thank you joe
Yes he is
One of my favorite players Congratulations Joe Mauer #JM7
Class act, storybook career and the definition of MN nice
The same kid I saw when he played against my high school team. Kudos, Joe! You've done the state proud.
My favorite non mets player ever, he and David Wright are my GOATS.
Joe was gifted with amazing athletic talent. He deserved every bit of success that came his way.
Joe is one classy dude. Our hometown hero!
Absolutely deserving class act
Greatest player and man in the world. ❤ love 😍 You
Thank you Joe for staying home and becoming a HoF that us minnesotians can be proud of

Class act! Congratulations!
Class Act! Much deserved honor he was an incredible player.
Loved watching Joe play! Congratulations!
In the immortal words of legendary Twins play-by-play broadcaster John Gordon, " Touch 'em all, Joe Mauer! Touch 'em all! "
I think of Kirby when I hear that call.
Yes, Jack Bush said that when Kirby hit his walk off home run to force a game 7 in the outstanding 1991 World Series against the Atlanta Braves.
Thanks, guys! Ahhh, yes... those were the best days... sitting out on the lawn or the deck, listening to Twins baseball ⚾ (especially when it was extra innings!)...
Excellent Mauer he loves minnesota twins and the community
He was humble guy seemed proud to be a twin
Joe Mauer. A legend. As a young catcher, I wanted to be that two-way player. Tremendous congratulations!
I'm an MN kid that is a lifelong Tigers fan, but Mauer was always one of the most feared hitters in the AL central. A true talent. Always loved competing against the Twins in those days. Great speech!
My first time watching Mauer was in the Metrodome, as he beat my high school in the state football championship.
i couldn't be happier for joe 🥹🥹🥹
My all time favorite player
So proud of Joe

Well deserve Joe! Congratulations, when I go back to Cooperstown I will get a picture of your plaque!
My Role Model growing up as a catcher. Thank you Joe for showing me to play the game the right way!

Great speech. Class act.
How many commercial breaks does twenty minute video need
Zero ads if you pay for Premium. It's worth every penny.
To think Joe was the 2001 Gatorade National player of the year in football ! Imagine that. Talented guy and class act ! Congrats Joe.
Big time minnesota Joey Mauer. Heck of a legend
Well played Mauer #Goat!
I've only been watching less than 90 seconds and I've already had to watch 4 full ads. RUclips, are you f*cking kidding me!!!
Bravo Joe!!!!!
Go to 1:47 to skip Rob Manfred
Well Played Mauer! 👏🏻⚾️⭐️🏆
Just imagine his stats if he swung at that first pitch FB down the middle over his career. Just 1 in 10 at bats woulda meant lots more stats. Dang, dude was solid.
That isn't Mauer. That's Troy Polamalu and he uses Head and Shoulders.
Greatest catcher of all time 🐐
No
Well, we can say that Joe was one of the greatest catchers. Because there we're so many. Fisk, Bench, I. Rodriguez, etc.
Grampa Joe & mom 💙

I always thought that if anyone was gonna hit .400 in a season, it was going to be him. What a talent.
That swing is the only one close to as pure as griffeys
Wonderful speech. ❤ Did I see #TonyO?
MLB. Could you squeeze a buck a little tighter. How many commercials can you squeeze into a video ?
Let’s go Joe !!⚾️
The plaque is not neat 😂
Maurer had such a great vision and sense of the strike zone.He rarely popped out and seeing the ball so well he hit the top of the ball invariably. Not getting under the ball mean less home runs.
Love him……….miss kirby
Ok who is cutting onions here
Well played Mauer
Congrads to JM but that bronze pic looks nothing like him.
haha they got the guy who made that Ronaldo bust to do this.
I can’t for miggy to be inducted
Best Maurer memory is the same as the worst. He was so good and beat up on my royals
Here's a common sense idea: why not have the plaque on a stand next to the podium, covered, and all you need to do is remove the cover.
Got that military haircut!
2123 hits and just 143 home runs? The HOF is a joke! 🤦🏽♂️
You must be 12. His peak before injuries was unprecedented by anyone to ever play catcher
Damn that plaque looks nothing like him lol
It looks like Ron Howard.
I thought he would go in with a blank hat. jk
😊second
IM FIRSSTTTTTTT ❤❤❤
I’m FIRSTTTTT 🎉
Borderline case numbers-wise, if you want my opinion. Though his profile and persona fit the type that makes your typical HOF voter drool.
Or they actual watched the game and saw what he was before injuries as the greatest talent to ever play catcher, perhaps? IDK, just a hunch
Yadier Molina was the Greatest !!!! His induction will be legendary in a few years
Greatest at being a dbag. Gimme Maurer everyday. Played the game the right way, and always treated not only his teammates, but also opponents with the upmost respect. Would much rather have a player and even more importantly MAN, like Joe Maurer representing my team and city. Good for the twins and their fans
Tell me you don’t know baseball without telling me you don’t know baseball!
Delusional
My favorite legendary hero Joe Mauer has officially elected into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame Class Of 2024.
Amazing moment🥹
Sweet!!!
