    Fred McGriff was one of my First Favorite Baseball Players, he was one of the reasons I became a Atlanta Braves Fan.

    This is absolutely incredible news. I was hoping the crime dog got in eventually! Dude was a MONSTER in the 90s and did it with that classic 70s power hitter body. Definitely no PEDs! Congrats

      I don't think Fred gets his due respect. 493 HR. 10 years of 30 or more. Played in the steroid era and was never suspected or accused of using PED's. He should have been in long ago.

    Fred McGriff has and always will be a favorite. I miss that era of baseball and still have Crime Dawg's rookie cards, just looking at them bring backs a flood of good memories. Class act, great speech, and well deserved HoF induction.

    I was born in atlanta the year the braves came to atlanta..1966..i remember watching hank Aaron as a kid..But my favorite braves player will always be fred mcgriff..He didnt show boat or dance around when he hit a homerun fred was all about buisness and his buisness was helping the Atlanta braves win a world championship in 1995..Thank you fred for the great memories in Atlanta and all of your career .God bless you..🏆

    Somewhere right now, Barry Bonds in crying in a corner. He celebrated too early in 1993..moking the braves saying they wouldn't catch them. Then the crime dog joined the team and they did indeed catch them. Now Fred is in the Hall of Fame and Barry is not. That's GOT to be damaging his ego right now.

    Well deserved and long overdue. But I'm thinking if he had played 1 more season and hit 7 more home runs he would have been in on the first or second ballot. Not that it matters now.

      493 home runs (without steroids), I would say is more than just pretty good. If it wasn't for a strike season in 1994-1995 he would probably have had 500 home runs, and been in the hall of fame years ago.

      “pretty good” players don’t hit 493 home runs and hit .300 in the postseason. he should’ve been in Cooperstown a long time ago
