Very true. I'm the least athletic person you'll ever meet and I have basically no interest in sports but when my mom told me "Kobe Bryant just died!!" I was like "WHAT?! ....no way...." and thought it was a hoax. I was bawling my eyes out watching his memorial. He's just one of those names/people you always hear about and have an appreciation/understanding of their cultural impact. Imagine kobe looking down, seeing his idol, his hero, giving such a heartfelt and beautiful speech at his funeral. Rip mamba, gigi, and all those who were lost.
The saddest thing is Kobe was supposed to live longer than MJ. I fuckin hated Kobe Bean Bryant but grew to respect him, and his ethic. He finally became aware once he gained that glory he knew he could achieve. He absolutely gave back with security the way he praised players, which he lacked at a young age (I'm same age as him so I know when a guy is a BSer). I was genuinely touched by Kobe's passing.
I don't care what anybody says about MJ after The Last Dance came out or before that... this is one of the most sincere and most beautiful speeches or eulogies given ever. I have nothing but respect for this man.
Same. Jordan makes such rare public appearances. The fact that he will publicly honor Kobe twice in less than two years is such a testament... And god damn does it break my heart.
When Michael Jordan speaks everybody listens. He spoke with compassion toward Kobe as his good friend. It still hurts me to know Kobe and his daughter and the other 7 died so tragic.
Kobe was the basketballing son MJ never had, and lost. Edit: to those offended I want to clarify I don't know anything about MJ's children, and by basketballing son I also felt Kobe was, despite everyone else, the only MJ competitive and winning character alike he had the chance to embrace, "sponsor", support and witness succeed. The only player MJ could see himself and his ever known unhuman winning and competitive force reflected. Reflected or even surpassed. That along with seeing him go.
Kobe so inspirational as a GIRLS’DAD much appreciation for that. Long Live KOBE BRYANT in the hearts of the people that knew and loved him. Salute Michael Jordan!!
Terran M Damn I’d love to get paid millions for just playing a “kids game” for a living. You’re so negative, why? Kobe’s an idol, obviously you’re not an actual sports fan to even care enough on how much he impacted many lives.
I think about the moment he knew they were in trouble, and going down, his daughter must have looked at him and said daddy,, I can just imagine him putting his arms around that beautiful little girl an comfort her,, to the family sorry for ur loss, Rest in peace to u an ur daughter , BIG LOSS
I think it's just the opposite... I think they did share a lot between one another and that's why it hurt so much. We all have that one person, and only they get us.
Abdul Wahid Nah, that’s not Jordan’s style to verbalize his emotions. Never has been. There was definitely an unspoken respect and admiration between them. There was a lot of people that wish they could’ve told Kobe how they appreciated him. Like McGrady.

@@johnstarks8831 when you wanna say good morning, but it's afternoon, it's too late. You are too late to say good morning. It's an analogy for death because it's too late to do anything with them as soon as they have passed. You want to see their eyes alive and well. You want to say hello to them, but it's afternoon. Until the next day, you cannot say good morning. Until the afterlife, you cannot be with them. So either it was a very simple way to start a speech or MJ is a poet. I prefer the latter.
This is why MJ is the GOAT. Even in a well post-retirement Eulogy speech, the man delivers. What an epic, moving, and perfect tribute to his friend. MJ for the win...again!
10 seconds into his speech and the GOAT is already in tears. Their bond was one only THEY understood… For once, MJ was looking at a younger version of himself. The mentality, work ethic, passion, drive, the killer assassin within, and focus and love of basketball was literally why Jordan said about Kobe, “He’s cursed as much as I am.” RIP Kobe, Gigi and all those who died in the tragic accident.😢

Kobe Bryant: No Jonathan Was Literally The Younger Version Of Michael Jordan You Cannot Tell Me With An Straight Face That Jonathan Doesn't Play Like MJ Stephen Curry: True But He Also Has My 3 Point Shooting Skills So It's The Best Of Both MJ's Footwork And Fundamentals Plus My Quick Jumpshot
It really did make it that much more sadder to watch & when you go back & listen to kobe talk he says how people couldn't understand how willing Michael was to take him under his wing & teach him any & everything he was asking about! When Kobe played or practiced basketball he always left it all on the floor. Gave it his ALL. When it came to his family, he did the SAME. IN ALL that you do in life, leave it all on the floor! Treat it all with the same passion n u will be GREAT like he was.
Over a year later and there is no Jordan crying meme. That shows the respect Michael's speech and Kobe have globally. Everyone felt so sad and realised how special this moment was. It's forever off limits. The 🐐 saying goodbye to his little bro.
I love how he didn’t even try to keep wiping his tears. He let them flow, he kept talking about his little brother, and he let the world see how much he loved and cares about him. Beautiful speech and tribute from Michael Jordan ❤️
The day Kobe passed I was moving out of state, away from my family and friends. 4 years later. I lost my best friend as well as my brother. This speech hits hard every time I hear it and I always shed a tear. MJ and Kobe were brothers, and this farewell shows it
When he said “When Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died” I just replayed in my mind how great of a guy Jordan was and how nice he was to kobe and how the friendship was
Michael Jordan blew me away with this speech. He has never been the kind of person to open up and show emotion or vulnerability. This was a great tribute and expression of their friendship. It’s been eighteen months since Kobe’s and Giannas passing and it still a raw emotion and feeling of disbelief that a person with so much passion for life and the desire to inspire others to be the best version of themselves can be ripped away from a world he had just started to let see who he really was.
I think that’s a misconception. Jordan had never been afraid to show his vulnerable side. Look no further than his 1st championship celebration and his 4th which he won on Father’s Day after his father had been murdered a few years prior. To me that’s what makes Jordan a special athlete: he displays a variety of emotions showing people than men can express emotions other than anger.
I cant imagine the pain and sorrow when MJ passes... im not a fan of basketball but even i knew what Kobe was...horrible loss for so many... to see the most controlled and focused man to ever play this sport crying... damn

Very true. I'm the least athletic person you'll ever meet and I have basically no interest in sports but when my mom told me "Kobe Bryant just died!!" I was like "WHAT?! ....no way...." and thought it was a hoax. I was bawling my eyes out watching his memorial. He was sorta omnipresent, never would've thought he'd go like this.

B O B Spelled backwards : ok idiot. Maybe they wanted to give him a ceremony that was appropriate for a global superstar. Plus, it ain’t your husband, or your dad, or your teammate. So kindly STFU.
@B O B Spelled backwards you guys have internet access at the funny farm? damn
Who ever is on that 🎤 you should shut up, even a cry baby

The fact he has a stadium full of people who loved him in some way or another is incredible. Speaks volumes to who he was as a person and a player.
Micheal Jordan Gave a beautiful speech
Jazmine Walker: Hi you doing jazmine what do you think about kobe do you think he is a good basketball player?
Jazmine Walker Michael Jordan sad kobe was like a little brother to him nobody went fill his shoes like kobe

@@dianaalexander7915, he don't know you. Oh you know him?
It must be the worst kind of surreal
@@dianaalexander7915 You are sick. Get help. 😘
GiGi was seriously going to change the way WNBA was looked at. She was going to be so dominate that people were actually going to start to watch the games. We missed out and the whole Bryant family missed out on what could and should have been. RIP Kobe And Gianna still cry til this day watching this video. 🙏 ♥️
I know she was so good if you watched her play you’d swear that was Bean inside of her.
Gigi was special. just stayed under the radar. I won’t lie, I wasn’t always checking, but every time a new highlight of her dropped, she got better.
At least Bronny or Zaire will be in the NBA
reaching much lol
@@kevinjohnduerme8963 let’s not jinx anything now.
Almost a weird unspoken rule to just leave him alone. Like ok lets not cross this specific line.
Agree.
On God a beatdown would be in order
Well what’s so funny about a man crying on stage about a man that meant a lot to a lot of people
@@avylynn4523 especially considering both men are immensely prestigious
Havent seen him this emotional since his father passed
I love how he didn’t even try to keep wiping his tears. He let them flow, he kept talking about his little brother, and he let the world see how much he loved and cares about him. Beautiful speech and tribute from Michael Jordan ❤️
chrissxyy sometimes it helps just to let it all go it’s a relief to some
The day Kobe passed I was moving out of state, away from my family and friends. 4 years later. I lost my best friend as well as my brother. This speech hits hard every time I hear it and I always shed a tear. MJ and Kobe were brothers, and this farewell shows it
When he said “When Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died” I just replayed in my mind how great of a guy Jordan was and how nice he was to kobe and how the friendship was
When you close your eyes and listen to Michael Jordan speak, Kobe Bryant sounds just like him...BIG brother, Little brother FOREVER!
They don't sound alike to me.
Kobe tried to copy him but his voice isn't quite as deep, isn't as smooth of a speaker.
🏀🏀
Michael Jordan blew me away with this speech. He has never been the kind of person to open up and show emotion or vulnerability. This was a great tribute and expression of their friendship. It’s been eighteen months since Kobe’s and Giannas passing and it still a raw emotion and feeling of disbelief that a person with so much passion for life and the desire to inspire others to be the best version of themselves can be ripped away from a world he had just started to let see who he really was.
they say God doesn't let his angles linger for too long !
I cant imagine the pain and sorrow when MJ passes... im not a fan of basketball but even i knew what Kobe was...horrible loss for so many... to see the most controlled and focused man to ever play this sport crying... damn
