I love the way Michael took Kobe under his wing, and respected Kobe's game and Kobe's work ethic and their similarities. Because typically, Michael would dig his heels in and view anyone who challenged him as a threat. And Michael would turn his power up to the 11th degree to eradicate the threat (like he did with the Pistons, Knick's, Pacers etc). But I'm glad that Michael saw in Kobe not a threat --- but a younger brother to be tutored and shaped and molded into a second version of himself. And the game was all the better for it. Never cared for Kobe (a lifelong Celtics fan here), but damn he was a talented individual. Not only that, but he was also a steadfast student of the game. It's his drive, intellect, talent, determination, and skill all wrapped into one person that set him apart from most all other players. I'll always admire his want to know everything about the game he loved.

I love the fact that you guys are un byist and real and respectful cuz Kobe got alot of disrespect and not enough praise.. if there was never a Jordan then Kobe would be the goat but the fact that Jordan was mostly who he molded his game around you cant have one with out the other I'm a Kobe Lakers fan but I could only watch the bulls celtics or Lakers those three teams as a collective to me had the best players to touch a basketball in my opinion

@@shawnanderson7933 Ohh...I disrespected him throughout his career. Being a Celtics fan, it came with the territory. Also being a Bird fan...I was much more into team basketball rather than the 1-on-1 ball Kobe played in his early career. But looking at his entire career, he matured into one of the greatest we've seen. And beyond that, it seems like also matured into one hell of a Man. Gotta respect that.

I was such a dedicated MJ fan…I mean the man was my idol. I couldn’t like Kobe because he was the heir apparent and seemed to be on that meteoritic rise to equal/best Jordan. I just couldn’t. But looking back I realize I didn’t like him because he was just that damn good.

I love that he described him as a mentor! So many stories of people who played with Kobe who say the same thing about him. A true quality of great people is they ALWAYS help others they are in it for the collective growth and not singular success.

wow. i never heard Kobe speak. great video. he had a level of maturity and humbleness that was really special. His answer on "who is better" is like Nick Diaz reply to whose better between him and his brother. "i don't know thats my brother". even in the face of the media they show a character that puts humility, love and respect over the spot light or a money endorsing opportunity. respect. rip Kobe your greatness went beyond the game. he would have changed the face of the WNBA with his daughter truly sad what we didn't get to see here on earth.
