- Today we follow a venerable alco rs3 4116 down the Battenkill from Greenwich to Eaglebridge NY aswell as seeing the new alco S2 in action this can possibly be the first alco rs3 with a k5la
***If anyone has any information on thr theft of the rs5t on 4116 please contact the Battenkill rr or the alco 5 group we would really like to see it returned Авто/Мото
Love that slow iddle breathing. So good and calm to fall asleep. Almost a mommy tender love.
Thanks. Now i can take a nap.
The Alco RS-3 is probably my most favorite road switcher engine of all time. I've got two RS-2's but finally got an RS-3 in the Central of Georgia HO scale. Cheers from eastern TN
Ya in HO scale they´re nice, but on
1/8, they pull you for real 😊
It makes my heart extremely happy to see these beasts still running revenue freight. Or any revenue for that matter. Thank you for filming these legends for us.
I miss the D&H
I used to watch the activity at the yard in Cohoes in the 70s and 80s, all along the Colonie sub , Waterford, Mechanicville, really miss those days
Back when it was double tracked
I always liked how closely coupled (electrically) that the generator and traction motors seem to be on these old ALCO's. Having switched on many old GP 9's you would never see that kind of forward movement with no apparent engine speed increase like on the ALCO. SW1200's were fairly closed coupled but still not quite like the ALCO.
Love it! An RS 3, shortline...perfect for a model RR! Someone design such a model RR and send it to MR or RMC! Love to see what you come up with!
Im thinking about it when i get the space definitely on my bucket list probably gonna build a custom shed just for it possibly
Nice Horn,1:45
A switcher's job is never done
i go by the cargill tower in salem often always look at the old iron in action love it
Beautiful engine
That alco is rough and ready
How come you make the FOV so wide? Apart from everything behind stretched out, great video
Gopro does that tried to fix it but it ends up worse saving up fro a proper cam corder as soon as i can
Hi, would it be ok if I used some of this footage in my upcoming RUclips video?
Go for it just give me credit
Is the #605 retired/out of service?
My understanding is that the 605 is kept in storage and only used as needed. Still fully operational. I've seen a few comments about 4116 being preferred because it is more dependable than 605. Evidently 605 doesn't like to start or stay running some times.
Its on the bucket list to being repaired it is OOS currently got other things on the Battenkill that need to happen first so fingers crossed
This Railroad suffers from ALCO- holism. Nice.
28:40 That's a nice Ku satellite 📡🛰️ dish
Is that a business ?
I wonder if they are still using it
