Looking at Google Maps they still show that long cut of tank cars out to the end of current track. Didn't they move them out in one of your earlier videos? Also, on Google Maps you can see a pile of stone on the rails just before Jaybird Rd., is that pile of stones still there so that is still their current end of track for the CCET? One more thing about this video, thanks for checking out the flange-way on the before and after shot at Tranquility Pike in your first shot. Yes, the pile of rock is still piled up there near Jaybird Rd crossing. That is still the end of their authority. The cars in the Google Map photo were removed over a year ago. However, there are a couple more cuts of tank cars and flat cars sitting in that same area. Thanks for watching!

Fun Fact: Ex-CSX B36-7 5895 was the first CSX engine to wear the blue and grey YN2 paint scheme. Called the Bright Future or the Hockey Stick scheme, it remained virtually unchanged for over a decade and thousands of units wore this scheme. 5895 was painted in that scheme in March of 1990 in the Waycross, GA shops.
Me and my son just cut down a ton of small trees on a old train trail.. trying to get the city to open it up for a trail. Where we cut down is where the trail ends. Goes over a old trussle. Got some great video of it. Love your videos man. You and a few others got me to start doing what I do. And that is bring life back to historic rail trails
Thats cool! I did the same thing years ago near Loveland, Ohio. A friend and I removed trash, cut trees and put up signs when the trail was still gravel. Thats cool that you live near a trail that you can use

I have a good friend who works works for BNSF, he does wiring in the communication huts at railroad crossings and on certain areas of the BNSF Railway. He told me 2/3 of the BNSF Railway workforce was furloughed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is sad. Railroad staff , whatever company they work for, in our Great Country of the United States of America, are essential workers. They keep our country moving forward and prospering

Looks like they left chains and binders laying on the car decks , some of the cars appear to have storage chests. Unfortunately, I’m afraid we’ll see many rail cars stored, if we enter a recession. I hope this line eventually becomes prosperous, thanks for sharing!
Union Pacific has already commenced layoffs due to an "unprecedented" drop in freight. It was already bad for the railroads with the trade wars gutting intermodal freight.. but now coronavirus. We are already in recession. Difference is this is the first time we have ever deliberately and knowingly caused one. One that was implemented as a practical effect of putting public health and human lives as a priority over making money. And it is global just like the pandemic.. so us re-opening the economy doesn't nescicarially mean much overall as the rest of the world will remain shut down for as long as need be & what we don't have made overseas tends to have a lot of materials or parts obtained from over seas. So we really can't restart until they do in a lot of cases.
Thanks for sharing, growing up in philly in the 70S and80s, we had such lines were a train came thru once every 6 months, or some lines had a way freight come thru once a month to service the last few remaining old factories that were still working. The tracks and old factories are gone to history.
Growing up as a kid in Southern California we used to chuck Oranges at the trains that went by the orchards.........this train would've made a really good target.
Yeah I noticed how several vehicles passed over the crossing after the lights and bells started to sound. Seems like they forgot that COVID 19 ain't the only thing out there that can kill you right now.
They`ll get over it. No law against if you are on public property. What those guys don`t seem to understand, like a lot of people in America today is that you are on camera a lot more than you ever realize. There are cameras everywhere you go now, stores, any business, traffic lights, highways, dashcams, etc. The problem here is you got one employee on that railroad that acts like a snot nosed 10 year old kid and the railroad hasn`t got the balls to do anything with him. He got off the train and assaulted a man filming the train from the road and took his cell phone from him. Had it been me, as soon as he hit me, I would have pulled out my legally carried firearm and then we would have seen how quick his attitude changed. There is no reason for these guys to act like they are something special, especially on this Mom and Pop railroad, because they work for a living just like the rest of us.

They use to approach me and talk but not now, ever since Danny stole my Iphone and I had to call the cops to get it back. I don't care about them though. I was driving thru Perth Amboy, N.J the other day and passed by some old tracks. They were not to far from NJ Transit station. Makes me wonder if they were the original tracks for NJ Transit. Pretty cool.

I live in the City of Industry, i guess, Subdivision. Of the Union Pacific Railroad . It is parallel to a street called Valley Blvd. It crosses almost 3 counties: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside.

Orab, Williamsburg, Batavia all the way back to the CCET offices/yard. That’s a total of 91 miles by car. Someone commented on one of your older videos that any company or industry backed up to a rail should use that rail to try to keep more trucks off the roads. While sliding along the map I noticed many businesses like that that have no spurs to them. Shame.
Two Older General Electric Locomotives, and 51 Rail cars, mainly Flat Cars, designed for Transporting Semi-Truck Trailers and Containers and Piggy Back Rail Cars/Rolling Stock for, like I said earlier, to transport containers and Semi-Truck Trailers and Wagons. It really polished those Railroad tracks with Two Locomotives and 51 Rail cars, now, instead of being Rusty, they are perfectly smooth and shiny! Thanks to 2 General Electric Locomotives and 51 Rail cars! Another Train is coming, to polish these Railroad tracks! A set of 8, SD40-2 Locomotives are coming, with an extremely long load of Rolling Stock and Rail Cars to Polish the Railway! Nice! Now, that's what I want to see!!!
Great catches, JT! Love those old GEs - although fresh paint would be nice. The flange ways on the first crossing made me think, ‘how will he get through that crossing without derailing?’ He was traveling at a pretty good clip considering. And the moral of the story is that if you need to keep the edge your lawn neat, or keep a rainwater gully in your garden from silting up; just run a train along it once a year. The flanges of its wheels will make a good job, just like it did on the level crossing!

I was wondering what those flatcar being use (or at least were) for, I thought vehicle chassis /frames, as there seems to be a lot of mounting or tie down fixing per flatcar deck.

Well, it wouldn't have been the fact that the clip is 16+-minutes long and the part with the train ended after 5 minutes, would it? No mind reading there!
Those trains should shine up the rails nicely. but they'll rust up again soon if nothing else comes through. I notice in the second half of this video the old telephone poles that still have steps to climb up them. You hardly see that anymore. Now we have bucket trucks.
When are they going to paint those engines? They appear to be pretty well maintained mechanically, but it would improve the company’s image. Additionally, I think the engine crews would feel better.
They used to have a GP49 (really rare engine) in a CCET paint job, but I heard that one got sent out to some railroad in eastern Washington state. Not sure of its whereabouts now.
I miss the old logging train that was in my region for well likely 100 years .Sounded great .Not a long run any more. Went about 15 ,miles to a mill then the area finely was logged & replanted .Will be another 50 years before their back cause they are not selling the land .
I wish the Blue Comet Commuter Train that halted Service in 1954 was resume again through New Jersey. In the 50's the Authorities thought that the Garden State Parkway was going be the Answer for People Moving about the State from New York City. In 66 years We outgrew the GSP even though it is Seven Lanes Wide North, and Southbounds in some areas. I would love to see the Train having been born less than a Decade after it stopped Service.

They started running trains to the quarry also. Just today a train headed that way with a cut of cars

Most of the times when a track hasn't been used in years, the signal lights don't work. I'm surprised those did.

I lived in ohio and on a few occasions i saw trains on what i thought was deserted tracks. Always a cool sight for me

We have a 10 mile long spur that is seldom used. I noticed it is being used to store grain hoppers the other day.

Great catches, JT! Love those old GEs - although fresh paint would be nice. The flange ways on the first crossing made me think, ‘how will he get through that crossing without derailing?’ He was traveling at a pretty good clip considering. Seeing a formerly disused line experience traffic is always a thrill.

And the moral of the story is that if you need to keep the edge your lawn neat, or keep a rainwater gully in your garden from silting up; just run a train along it once a year. The flanges of its wheels will make a good job, just like it did on the level crossing!

I believe those flat cars are designed for wind turbine blade transport.
I was wondering what those flatcar being use (or at least were) for, I thought vehicle chassis /frames, as there seems to be a lot of mounting or tie down fixing per flatcar deck.
Flat cars are for steel rolls.

Those trains should shine up the rails nicely. but they'll rust up again soon if nothing else comes through. I notice in the second half of this video the old telephone poles that still have steps to climb up them. You hardly see that anymore. Now we have bucket trucks.
When are they going to paint those engines? They appear to be pretty well maintained mechanically, but it would improve the company’s image. Additionally, I think the engine crews would feel better.
Weathering is good. Many railroaders like it.
They used to have a GP49 (really rare engine) in a CCET paint job, but I heard that one got sent out to some railroad in eastern Washington state. Not sure of its whereabouts now.

I miss the old logging train that was in my region for well likely 100 years .Sounded great .Not a long run any more. Went about 15 ,miles to a mill then the area finely was logged & replanted .Will be another 50 years before their back cause they are not selling the land .
I wish the Blue Comet Commuter Train that halted Service in 1954 was resume again through New Jersey. In the 50's the Authorities thought that the Garden State Parkway was going be the Answer for People Moving about the State from New York City. In 66 years We outgrew the GSP even though it is Seven Lanes Wide North, and Southbounds in some areas. I would love to see the Train having been born less than a Decade after it stopped Service.
