Short pickens railway chase
Anderson South Carolina home of the Pickens railway a famous short line know for their orange ge U18Bs still pulling freight 9503 and 9500 are returning to the shop after a days work was lucky to catch them considering what happened earlier in the morning also visit my other video on the pickens

Woke up bright and early and headed 2 hrs to battlboro VT got there to find necr job 611 building there southbound train heard over the radio they had a few pickups to grab enroute which was interesting to see how they managed them also cool to see were all these orange amtrak ballast hoppers the G040-2w was in transit and was not under power we ended the chase in Greenfield mass with them runn...

Was about to leave the tunnel after 265 came through (b101) and heard a p5 in the distance and low and behold ad-1 showed up with both blue dip b40 and gp40 caught them on the branch again with the hp40 leading while they flagged a crossing

Got off work after learning a test train with these newly acquired units went to colonie NY and got em on the return leg Not to mention the 90406 is undergoing testing to be returned to service and hopefully will catch that soon

Heard that m434 was coming up the riverline with only an sd40-2 paor so i went for it to bad I wasn’t on the other side because a southbound soon hit the crossing after the duo passed with a sd70mac leader

Because of a derailment on the CSX mohawk sub blocking the connection to Amtrak Hudson line after the wreck was cleared the switch that goes to Schenectady NY was not put in so the lake shore had to detour through Selkirk and back down the connection into Albany Rensselaer

This is the soon to be reopened D and H Albany main for ns intermodal traffic they flagged every crossing due to the work going on messing them up the caboose was painted just before Christmas of 2022

I always liked how closely coupled (electrically) that the generator and traction motors seem to be on these old ALCO's. Having switched on many old GP 9's you would never see that kind of forward movement with no apparent engine speed increase like on the ALCO. SW1200's were fairly closed coupled but still not quite like the ALCO.

I ran CP six axle power on the Old Albany Main around 2008 for a detour intermodal from Montreal and also ran a work train with an SD40-2 when they upgraded the south end and closed the portion north of the diamond. (2001)
