I agree...I was bored last month and went to four different Ford dealers in my area to experience first hand the info Ray is offering and it's true. I played the game asking for the out the door price which took around 1.5 hours at each store. Of course I did not purchase and had no intention to! The problem is the sales staff present as having no idea what they are doing. They literally speak out of their ?
O well, times are changing and many of the dealerships will be closing by 2028 if not sooner.

@@danielpilachowski2424your first issue is actually going in to a dealership for anything other than a test drive. The good dealers will deal directly via email or even text, then all you go in for is to actually drive the car you are looking at. Pricing is already settled before you even set foot inside. I know that wasn’t your goal, but the good dealers will take care of all the BS dickering ahead of time.

I don't have any use for Ford anymore. I am a lifelong Ford guy. I've had 4 F-150's, 2 Rangers, an Explorer Sport Trac. I just can't afford a truck anymore. Anything I have to tow is getting sold. The camper is for sale, I found out I can rent a boat at the marina. I am out of the truck market now and I make more money now than I ever have. I can't see myself paying that price for something that loses value. I'm sure most customers are just like me.

Farley was hired to transition to EVs. He has actually made more progress than you would expect from a normal CEO.
He is hired 2020. Mach-e 1st gen is 2021. Lightening 1st get is 2022. NACS announced 2023. 2024 is proactive production cuts because these 1st gen vehicles suck. The LFP mach-e will make or break ford. It has to be tesla quality and similar to tesla prices or it is a dud.
Farley is the one who signed the UAW deal first, forcing GM and others to sign similar deals.
Ford ICE vehicles are junk, they knowingly sold defective transmissions for 10 years. That is not an accident. Ford has a chance to shed their garbage as they transition to EVs. This is how BYD improved, they made better EVs and ignored making their crappy ICE vehicles better.

Here’s the thing; if a product is advertised for a high price (doesn’t matter what the product is) I’m not interested in going to find out whether or not that’s the actual price. A dealer advertising high prices and adding crap on top, but maybe they’ll lower it if I go and negotiate with them isn’t getting my business. Yes transaction prices are down, but until that lower price is reflected in advertised prices myself and (I assume) most people aren’t participating.

There was a time when consumers complained about car manufacturers not putting any extras on the cars. You got four tires, a motor and a steering wheel and that was it. EVERYTHING was an extra. Now they have done a 180 degree turn by adding all kinds of extras as standard equipment and charging you for ridiculous crap that you don't want. I don't want all AWD. I don't want heated seats. I don't want a heated steering wheel. I don't want a 4" or 8" screen sitting on my dashboard offering me crap I am not interested in. I know how to back up my car without the help of a screen. I know how to change lanes, all by myself. I don't want to talk to Siri or Alexa. I don't want 8 ways to adjust the drivers seat. I don't want to be charged for an exterior color on my car! Is it too much to ask ? Add up all these extras and you will see how more reasonable a car price might be.

New names for cars like L160 for Lighting, make the Bronco sport E170, and so on. But the most important item would be the communication going forward. The key is with and without generator that extends milage, example: battery distance 350 miles, with generator 550 miles. Make sure the generator runs on gas ⛽️ first and once the inferstructor catches up turnover to hydrogen. This can be used for all manufacturers... Just one man's opinion

An ev with a +/- 200 mile range with a small sub 1 liter range extender engine would have been a better match, along with a smaller car pure ev . Mach E would have sold like hot cakes at the original price, I remember 42k, and the govt inventive, with a great charging network and free home charging. Also a worry free battery warrantee. $20,000 price increases and charge anxiety do not make for a saleable ev. Charging worry, anxiety and bad experiences are the top problem for all current and potential owners of evs (including Tesla, which has a great charging network. ) Should have got together with all automakers to get charging right. Oh well, even Tesla is hinting their future is in robots and home systems, giving car building to the Chinese! Thanks for the great vids!

I'm guessing that's why they didn't sell and I don't think they will at this point. One dealer was trying, with prices as low as $26K shown on the web site. I don't know how they will unload these - send to auction?

I bought a new dark horse MSRP $66,750 for $61,900 unicorn deals exist. I had a dark horse on order and the car I bought was a direct opposite. Grey / auto. And the one I had on order was white / manual. But I couldn’t walk away from a discounted dark horse in this climate. Also admittedly my order was a handling package and there is currently no timeframe for the delivery of that vehicle so it was the wrong car at the right time. If you are willing to adjust your wants you can get a great deal. Also it not being the “perfect” vehicle really helps with being able to walk away without being emotionally attached. Gl out there!

Toyota’s decision is a big gamble. Most EV buyers quickly realize that EVs are a superior ownership experience compared with their previous gas car. The vast majority say they’ll never buy an ICE car again. As EVs get cheaper and battery technology improves this trend will grow exponentially. Europe and China are pivoting hard into EVs . The US market is lagging behind.

Last week went to our dealer for a 30,000 mile service on our 22 Mustang Mach-e. It's a great car. Needed tires and considered buying an extended warranty from CarEdge. The dealer said he would take our 22, give us a new 23 with extended range battery for $3000 down and 72 months at %0 interest. Done deal, great car, a deal like the old days only better. I've done a LOT of car deals in my life but this was insane. PS> we were upside down on our 22 loan by $10K and they took it anyway, paid it off and into the new 23. 300 mile range and the new Tesla connecter and we can charge at any Tesla station or any other charging station. Not sure why these are slow sellers but who cares.

Does Ford's move towards Hybrids also portend a move BACK into the car market? To my knowledge, they're producing the MACH-E, and the ICE mustang, and SUVS, and Pickups. There is no "below $30,000" vehicle (read compact or ICE/HYBRID sedan or coupe) for the US mid-range consumer. Without that market, I don't think most of the OEMs can't survive. GM and Stellantis are doing no better, ergo, I think the three of them are on very thin ice. You can't ignore the great unwashed and still expect to be a big player. 50 years ago GM had the Chevy for the guy working for a paycheck, the Buick/Pontiac for the guy supervising the guys earning a paycheck, and the Olds and Cadillac for the guys in the grey suits. The Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar class were the heavy hitters. Seems like everyone wants to sell to the heavy hitters, and there just ain't that many of them! Do you think they've noticed yet?

You should be able to order a new vehicle at invoice or below. If not walk away. They have no floor plan on it or anything. In the 60s and early 70s most people ordered there vehicles and paid about a 100 dollars above invoice or below. You had to to get what you wanted because small dealers back then only hand a few standard cars in stock. I ordered and waited 6 months for a Z 28. I could wait. In my whole life I only bought one vehicle since they had zero interest for a 30 grand vehicle for 5 years at 500.00 a month. After 3 years i got so dam tired of 500 months payments I paid it off in 3 years. I always took 3 year loans. You get tired real fast of monthly payments. And I always found my own loans threw my bank. You never buy a vehicle without thinking about it a few days or a week. They don't like it walk away. Problem today are people buy by impulse buyers. I see it all the time . Take time buying big time purchases. Even small things do I really need it now?
