Adding demonstrations of both controllers in 2d/3d fighting games would have been great
Good suggestion. For now, you can check out my full reviews on each controller for that.
I absolutely love your table with all the input lag results and the polling rate of multiple controllers, please keep it up!
Ask and you shall receive! Check the description.
Hi! Would the input lag be 1000Hz on PS5 or is only for PC? Thank you so much, just binge watched your content and you gained a new supporter. Cheers!
Keep in mind that this review, though really well put together, doesn't take into consideration the controllers' durability
Idk about the Edge because I don't own one, but I've burned through 3 Elite controllers now because the bumpers and joysticks deteriorate super quickly... Doesn't feel like it when you first get your hands on it since it feels so premium, but these do tend to die after a few months of use
I enjoy seeing these tests that you do, especially with the Input Lag. Do you think it would be possible to test Street Fighter 6's input lag on PC using Windows 10 instead of Windows 11? Or do you know of any reasons why Windows 10 might be worse for Street Fighter 6? Perhaps something weird with Direct X12, SF6's Borderless Fullscreen, or the RE Engine possibly preferring Windows 11?
I recently borrowed an Xbox after reviewing yours and Digital Foundry's video about SF6's Input Lag. I can say with almost 100% certainty that for whatever reason my PC has 3-4 more frames of Input Lag than the Xbox Series X, and I still cannot figure out why. It is very easy for me to hit confirm Chun Li's F MP on Xbox, but not on my PC. I have IDR turned on for both, using a 120/144 Hz monitor, turned V sync off, G sync on/off, lowered my settings, made sure the game is stable, used different controllres, verified my game files on steam, reinstalled it, etc. Sorry if it feels like I'm pestering you with this question. I know your PC is better than mine, but I cannot figure out why my 5900x + 1070Ti, with 32GB of RAM on Windows 10 is getting such bad Input Lag even with IDR turned on.
Nice video. I wanted to ask you if you have switched from a diamond shape to a 6 face button layout . I use DualShock 4 and got a betop thorn, I feel like I’ll never get used to it
Quick experiement: Take both of your elite series 2 controllers, remove the left and right thumbstick caps and rotate the 'nubs' around the edge of each. I'm going to guess that the left sticks on both almost have an octagonal sensation to them? Almost as if they were like N64/Gamecube sticks? Where as the right sticks are smooth and circular as expected?
Thanks, love the work you do here.
How's the Edge d-pad compared to the regular Dualsense? Because the Dualsense is really bad.
I have to say, I hate the DPad on the PS5 controller, and im seeing they didnt improve anything on the Edge, also had my ps5 controller for a year and it has stick drift now... I also heard many QC issues in the Xbox but i will give it a try with the core. hope it goes well, if doesnt I am also thinking in buying a Thrustmaster Eswap S if the Xbox doesnt go well
Great video! Why is input lag so much more on Xbox controller than ps controller? Is it hardware or software? Wonder if Xbox can fix it with a software update?
goated
this is a tuff one i wan the dual sense edge i use ps more than xbox i play halo on pc more ps controllers feel better than the xbox no lie . also xbox elite 2 has quality control problems . i get the edge you know you can play wireless with the edge right ? not just wired i like how i can replace the sticks so i go with the dual sense edge
