Hey ! Thanks for the kind words , I try to put as much effort in as I can when I put out a video. Means a lot as you said when somebody acknowledges the hard word, thanks again !! Happy new year !
As an elite owner, I would say to anyone reading to get the Scuf. After 10 months of use, the left bumper stopped registering. Incredibly disappointed with the elite’s grip as well.
Agreed, I've had so many problems with elite controllers over the last year. Bought a Scuf and have had it for 2 weeks and have been very happy with it. Works well on low deadzones too, haven't had any stick drift as of yet which is a problem that plagues the elite controllers within 3 days of use.
I seem to be cursed with stick drift. I have to replace my controller every 12 months and I'm only a light to moderate gamer. Maybe that's the problem. The most frustrating was the Elite Series 1 which started drifting badly just out of warranty. Ouch. Hall effect controllers need to become the norm. Stick drift is ruining gaming for many people.
My trigger fingers naturally sit on the triggers so having the back triggers mapped to push the LB & RB without moving my fingers is a small but game changing difference. The entire elite 2 is worth that for me. The Xbox button color change and flawless charging pad made the series 2 a must have. Again this all my preferences.
Good to see a comparison video where you can tell..... "BOTH" controllers have actually been used and abused over a number of hours before review. Looking forward to the next one 🙂
I have gone through 3 elite series 2 controllers, they are awesome but after a few weeks crazy stick drift or bumpers not working. I just ordered my first scuf, I'm excited to see if it's better.
My only problem with the elite series 2 (the controller I am currently using) is the heavily unreliable A button. This is the only problem I've actually had with the controller since I bought it months ago, it may be a single problem but it is a very major problem to me.
Hey! I actually had a friend return there’s for this exact problem . I’ve never had an issue but it definitely seems to be common enough . Is it still under warranty ?
Just ordered one hope i touch lucky with a good one 🤞🏻. I bought it direct from the Microsoft website its on sale for £140. Says hassle free returns as well so if it is a broken im just gunna keep sending them back until i get a solid one.
@JAYW0151 good luck! I have done a bit of research on my issue and apparently it is reasonably common, though I'm not sure if it is guaranteed that the A button with be faulty. Anyway, hope you have better luck than I did!
I have an elite series 2. I’ve had the controller for about 8 months. I noticed straight out the box that the A button sometimes does not register. I’m also now experiencing my RB is hardly registering. I have to press it really hard and in a specific spot on the button to get it to function correctly. Another issue I’ve had is random connection drops. It’ll be randomly in the middle of a game my controller will stop working, but it still says it’s on so I have to reconnect it by holding the pairing button. With all these issues, and not to mention how difficult it is to get a hold of Microsoft since it’s still within warranty. I just bought a scuff controller. I pray that it is better.
@@Gavlaaar88 thank you! Yeah the right bumper is a big issue for the elites. So far the scuf controller runs circles around it. Feels much better, and more responsive.
Proud owner of 3 elite series, the first one was the ES1 and it does the job, but the real boss is the ES2, and i have two of them, the primary and the secondary, wow it feel so heavy and sturdy, the rubber on it grip like a charm, infinite configuration, many interchangable button, infinite battery (if you charge it right), premium case, premium feel, imho top notch controller for price and durability, the scuf have battery at 210 in 2023....OK.
Hey !! Awesome , glad you're enjoying your Elites ! As you said it does have a great feel In hand. And the customisation options are awesome. Thanks for commenting and watching! Means a lot.
@@Gavlaaar88 Means a lot to me too that you reply and be so kind, thanks for the good job, keep doing this, u earned a sub sir, sorry for my bad english, have a nice day!
I wholeheartedly agree a 210 controller in 2024 better not have disposable batteries 😂 I don’t play shooters so the scuf had absolutely no advantage/ appeal to me outside of the customized face plates. But having to buy additional faceplates and batteries after spending 210 nah I’m good
The Elite Series 2 would be an amazing controller and package deal if only it was more durable. I noticed right out of the box it seemed like some button presses wouldn't register the first press but that wasn't consistant so I didnt think much of it. A little after a year it started to shut off if I clicked the right thumbstick and wouldn't turn back on unless I plugged it in. I tried to contact Microsoft but since it was one month out of warranty they offered me nothing. Also important to note that I'm very particular and careful with my things especially something that was 180 bucks. I also don't game very often and I think I might of only played through about 6 full charges of the battery over the course of the year. The controller looks brand new with no signs of wear even on the thumbsticks. Very disappointing cause I thought the controller would last a lot more than a year of very light minimal use. However I will not buy a scuf that has less features and cost way more either. I'm just gonna stick with my regular standard controller which seems indestructible and cost a third of the price. The paddles on the back of the Elite 2 were cool at first but then I really never used them anyway. The only thing I will actually miss is the adjustable throw on the triggers.
Hey Bret , great comment. Since releasing this video I’ve heard from lots of people about durability concerned with both controllers. It’s been good to hear about issues and what I should be Looking out for. Pretty bad of MS considering your warranty had just gone out. Haha yeah my regular Xbox controller seems to be indestructible also Thanks for watching and commenting !
Hey Hammer ! Thanks for the kind words , watching and commenting. Aww nice let me know how you get on with it , hopefully you don’t have any problems. Oh and when it comes to subs , all I can do I keep trying to put out good videos . Thanks again !
If your very competitive take it from me… I’ve had 3 elite controllers and After trying my first scuff, SCUFF IS BY FAR SUPERIOR FOR CALL OF DUTY ESPECIALLY OR SHOOTER GAMES. The scuff joy stick is very still and solid feeling and feels Soo accurate, the elite 2 controller joy stick is wiggly right out the box and it makes it hard for me to be pin point accurate.
On my Elite Series 2 Controller, I rest my ring fingers on the bottom paddles and position my middle fingers slightly above the upper paddles. Would the inside paddles on the Scuf get in the way for me? I know that's a very specific question lol hopefully I explained it well enough.
Hey Jack . What I’ve found with the Scuff is that the same finger can use both the paddles on one side. I use my middle finger and it sort of rests in between both of them . And I just either flick up , or down. On whether it would get in the way . I’d have to say that it could . Especially if this is how you are used to playing. I guess it would require a bit of getting used to if you picked one up.
Bought and elite series 2 from amazon had stick drift right out of the box so I sent it back and got a replacement and that one was even worse couldn't click in the right thumbstick and it would stick when I pushed the right thumbstick to any direction
After using an Elite Series 2 for a couple years and deciding to try out the SCUF, I wish i was smart enough to Frankenstein the mouse click bumpers and triggers into the Elite controller to make my perfect controller.
Elite all day every day. I've bought 2 scuf and they both broke within 6 months. The first scuf went bad with crazy uncontrollable stick drift, the second wouldn't retain the button mapping (had to reset my buttons everytime I turned the controller back on).
otherway around here, elite bumpers breaking and grips just falling off, i had 3 and every single one has been the exact same problem horrible for the price, multiple scufs not a single problem with them
I have both. If the elite had mouse click triggers I don’t think anything would touch it. I’ve had 2 brand new scuffs and both have had noticeable stick drift out the box. First one lasted a month before the left stick just shot straight up. Paddle placement is better on the elite as well. If u have big hands,I’d recommend the scuff tho. Totally agree on the battery comment🤘🏻
Ordered the scuf instinct pro. within 3 days had .8N stick drift on the right stick. returning it was a serious hassle. Like the feel of the controller but stick drift after 3 days is not worth a $200 controller..
to add to it i owned the Elite 1 and the rubber grips came off in 1 year of moderate game play and the LB and RB button broke on me those are buttons that should not break on you very cheep support i found
Thinking about getting a scuf instinct pro but can you tell me what 4 thumbsticks come with it as i prefer both stock height but domed and do you now if kontrol freaks fit the non domed.
Hey David , thanks for commenting. The 4 sticks that come with the controller are 2 stock sized sticks , with the dip in the middle for your thumb , and 2 domed ,one stock size and the other longer ( about double the height ). I do have a video covering some of the attachments you can purchase separately for the SCUF like extra thumb sticks so you can get the two sticks sticks you prefer , but at a cost. I’ll need to get back to you about the Kontrol freaks. Thanks again for commenting !
Idk about anyone else but I play a lot of bumper heavy games like Souls and Elden Ring and got maybe 6 months out of the elite series 2 before BOTH bumpers crapped out. Started with having to push really hard for them to work, to them not working at all. Won’t be getting another.
Had the same problem and I don’t even use them heavy. Also the disconnect issue when using wireless is ridiculous. Should have got recalled for it. Mine is literally unusable wireless.
My rb was inconsistent for months. Then all of a sudden started working while my bottom left paddle has the same thing happening currently. This also being my 2nd elite I’ve owned since returning the first one on warranty
I have a elite series 2 controller, if I ordered the scuf instinct pro controller analogue sticks and put it in my elite controller would it work or no?
Not the SCUF sticks that are for the SCUF instinct pro. You can however purchase Scuf branded Sticks and paddles that are designed specifically for the the Elite Series 2. Think they can be tough to find though.
@@Gavlaaar88 I noticed that my original rechargeable battery pack cover & wire don’t fit the new controller I bought! & they’re both from Xbox! Do they change this as new ones come out? Makes no sense..why can’t I use my old rechargeable battery on the new controller? Do I have to buy a new battery & cable now?
Year you can , it’s basically the same form factor as the series controllers. Or you could use rechargeable battery double A’s. I actually play wired mostly , better connection and don’t need to worry about charge. Although not ideal for everyone. Thanks for comment.
Every elite I've ever owned the left bumper stops working or falls out. It could be halo bumper jumper but i would expect a controller at its price to last longer
You are right , should definitely looking for better durability , bumper jumper probably is a factory. I heard other say they have similar problems if they play bumper heavy games like dark souls also. Thanks for your comment.
Great review I have both of them and I like the scuff better I like the layout because I have big hands and it feels good to play with the back buttons are every nice 💯.
I simply can't use the paddles on the Scuf. Ice tried and tried and tried to get used to them, but I just can't. If I could have the Scuf thunbsticks with the Elite paddles I'd be set. There's just something so nice about the Scuf sticks.
Oh no , that’s unfortunate, how many of the buttons do you use? Im good with the bottom two , but I struggle a little with the top two. At least you can say you gave it a good go trying them out and it just didn’t work. Thanks for commenting !
This kind of hard to explain but I want the same feedback and feel the ps5 controller has on xbox. What controller would give me that? I have a elite series 2 but It doesn't feel the same. I mostly play r6
The PS5 Dualsense does have some awesome features that makes it stand out. Like the adaptive triggers. There currently isn’t an Xbox controller capable of the kinda feedback the dualsense gives. Although there have been some patents spotted , suggesting XBOX are looking at something similar. Thanks for commenting.
Yeah I was looking through Design labs this week and realised this also. Seems excessive huh. Something needs changed in that regard. Did you end up picking up an elite 2 ?
@@Gavlaaar88 not yet. Still deciding. My buddy said get a wire 2 at Best Buy then buy a warranty through upie. Granted I can’t get it engraved etc. I might just try out the scuff honestly if I’m paying that much I want to get it custom.
Don’t go with Xbox elite 2. I’ve replaced it 3 times. Feels great and looks nice but after a few months the A button stops working or your character starts looking at the sky. Scuf works fantastic so far for the past 2 months especially with gears of war. Only bad is the batteries come out really easy. You can change the face plate easy though and buy new ones from Scuf so bonus.
Hahahaha yea right dude. Enjoy playing with a controller with built in plastic back paddles….that you can’t replace and break within 8 months. Just in time for your warranty to end. It’s a joke
I've heard Scuff breaks easily too though from many. When deciding on which to purchase its very hard because you will get a different answer depending on who you ask.
I have been through 5 elite series 2 controllers and all of them the same issue, the A and B buttons responsiveness giving out if not responding right out of the box. Thank the gaming gods that they were all under warranty though I have to bash on Gamestop making me pay for a new warranty every time I had to replace it outside of the 2 that weren't responding right out of the box. Currently awaiting the Scuf Instinct Pro so I can give it a go. I really hope it gives me a better experience.
The elite series 2 feels fantastic in the hands and has great features but those A and B buttons not responding is just a huge issue when playing certain games. I'll give it it's props but it definitely has a technical build quality problem.
@@Gizmotechie22 hey ! Thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear about your problems with the Elite 2, especially with it being the same problems !! But as you said at least you had warranty. Hope you enjoy the SCUF !! Thanks again for the comments.
Had my Elie for about a year now and no issues and play alot of cod but want to get this scuf...only thing I owned about 3 scuff controllers and they don't seem to last more than 8 months will see how this one goes....good thing getting it from best buy can just return if any issues with warranty
Hey ! Glad to hear your Elite has lasted so long. You must take care of your controllers pretty well. Oh that’s good then , how long is the warranty in best buy ?
@Gavlaaar88 it's for 2years and I went thru scuff for a RMA took a month to get my controller back and best buy is your best bet to get it right away....loving your channel keep up the good work 👍
@@Love_N_Let_Live Been waiting on my keyboard for over a month now so I know the pain🤦🏾♂️, but the controller feels really good so it’ll be worth the wait.
Yeah , It’s very much based off the Xbox series controllers . The form factor and size are practically identical . Really just the side grips and back paddles that make it feel different in hand
I had the elite controller and the right bumper quit working this is my second elite controller. I broke down and bought a scuf controller and it feels natural in the hands. I think the scuf is worth the money compared to the elite controller
Just got my first job about a month ago and decided to waste some money, ended up choosing the scuf, its coming tomorrow! Ill let you know how it goes for me.
Yes !! Yeah that’s would be good , hopefully you don’t have any problems. I have heard of some with both controllers. Hope you enjoy ! Oh and congrats on the job !! Hope everything goes well, and thanks for watching and commenting.
I have the elite and I get the feeling I'm performing better with the regular Xbox Series X controller. It feels off to me. Now I hear you say you also experience the feeling of lag. Very interesting. I thought I sucked because of playing with MKB on PC for a while. But I switched whole my life between PC and console and never experienced this feeling before. Maybe I should try the Scuf, but they are so expensive.
@KingsOverAces Got the Scuf, but send it back. The shoulder button was sticky from the get-go. When moving the shoulder button it would het unstuck, but I don't expect these kind of issues from such a expensive controller.
@@Lugghandle I got the Scuf and had a annoying sticky bumper, so I returned it. But the rest of the controller felt pretty nice. It's also really expensive.
Daaaaamn I'm torn. I game on PC and haven't used one of these pro type controllers yet with the paddles and everything. The scuf looks sick, aesthetically and otherwise, but tbh I don't play a lot of shooters anymore. As much as I want to trick out a scuf with custom colors and everything, I should probably save that extra $50 or so. Not to mention the rechargeable battery... I recently upgraded my whole PC so it has bluetooth now, and the rate I've been going through AA batteries is just ridiculous, but finally being able to use wireless on PC is so nice. That's the main reason I even started looking at controllers. Anyway, I think I'll get the eliteS2 for now, and maybe get a scuf later if I feel like it. Obligatory old guy comment: I remember when $60 seemed like way too much for a controller!
Is this the actual Neo !! I’m honoured !! Hey thanks for commenting , I’m your situation you described there I think your decision to check out the Elite is probably the better choice. Oh and I personally feel it’s comfier in hand also especially for long sessions playing single player. Haha and the AA batteries you will save also. Again , thanks for commenting and of course watching.
I've had 3 elites over probably the last 3 years. All of them broke, RB normally. Customer service is decent though if in warranty but the repairs come back and eventually break again. I play a decent amount of destiny so it gets some action when swords are the thing. So will probably try the scuff now, although is very expensive compared to the elite and even the new PS5 controller
3 !! No way ! Yeah it seems to be the RB and A button that I’ve been hearing that are the problem , well in the comments anyway. Yeah ive heard the same about the souls game being a problem with the RB . Haha yeah it’s not a cheap controller , I’d like to see a controller maybe In the middle range pop up somewhere. Thanks for the comment !
@@Gavlaaar88 I was gonna pull the trigger on a SCUF but I see now that MS does a Core Elite, perfect for me as I have so many spare accessories from broken pads
Hello from Germany. :) Thank you for the great comparison. I have played 8 years with the Elite1 without problems. Now it starts that the keys begin to clamp and the vibration motors are very loud. I have now ordered the scuf pro because many I know from playing have problems with the Elite2 and the Elite2 has a built-in battery which I do not find good. I am a shooter player the mouse triggers are perfect for me.
Hey Michael ! Thanks for your kind words. Awesome I hope you enjoy your new controller when it arrives !! What shooter do you play ? Thanks for watching.
my main problem with the elite is the grips. if your hands start sweating it feels greasy all the time' And for me that's so annoying and then the grips start to get loose and fall off. Then major stick drift is next so I like the scuf better. This video was really helpful though
Hey Alexander , do you know what I’ve had a few people say a similar thing about the grips , thanks for the heads up , I’ll keep my eye on that. Thanks for watching the video also !
It actually feels a little smaller in my hand than the Elite tbh, the SCUF is pretty much the XBOX series X controller when it comes to design , but with upgrades from SCUF. Sorry bro .
@@KarmaShocked I’d have to have a close look when home . But I wouldn’t say so, although because of the way the paddles are designers it does give you a better grip with the way the paddles fit around your finger
Hey Tiger , cool name. Yes I would say they are louder than the Elite, although not from clicking in , more from general gameplay movement. I use headphones so don’t notice , but I would say it’s the same sound as a usual XBOX controller. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment !
back when destiny 1 trials was a thing, I wanted paddles to revive and shoot at the same time. I got a scuf and it was the cheapest feeling controller that I've played with. the elite was better by a lot, it felt so much better in my hands, and it didn't have that light cheap feel and it cost less. plus customizing thumb sticks and analog sticks was great, I went as far as using the Xbox elite controller on the ps4.
The elite defo has a nice feel in hand . Feels weighty too. As you said the customisation is awesome. On the PS4 ? How do you do that , didn’t know you could. Thanks for commenting btw !
@@Gavlaaar88 I’m sure with time the scuf controllers improved on the way they feel. I would use the Xbox elite controller on the ps4 with a usb hub and a thing called CronusMax at the time. The way it worked was it had you connect your ps4 and Xbox controller to a usb hub. I believe it would make the ps4 believe that you were using its ps4 controller but you were allowed to fully use the Xbox controller as long as both of them were plugged in the same usb hub. One of my friends was using another device that allowed him to use the keyboard and mouse on the ps4.
The main reason for me to get the Scuf Instinct Pro was the Design and the option to use my own pair of AA Batteries. I only use Premium Lithium AA Batteries wich usually last 60-80 hours wich is absolutely incredible. The build in battery of the Elite is a turn off for me, as that battery wont last 30 hours after a year of use PLUS if it gets defective you"ll need to get it repaired or buy a new controller.
Yo Adem, since I released this video I’ve actually had a fair few people say the same as you regarding the batteries. I guess it can be a benefit if as you say you have your own rechargeable batteries . As you said they do last so much longer. Thanks for the comment, and for watching !!
My biggest issue with the elite is all the defective design flaws had mine for 3 months before triggers started sticking and my rb button stopped working sent it back to be fixed and was out a controller for over a month got it back and within a few months had the same problems. It’s absolutely ridiculous
@@dfillio8993 Durability concerns are why I went with Scuf this time. I have horrible stick drift on both my sticks on the Elite 2. My Elite 1 still doesn't have this issue but one of the bumpers did fall off and I just taped it back on. Lol
@@SuperRaptor686 hey 👋 so far the only real problem I’ve had is stick drift on my left stick . But it’s nothing that I can’t remedy in game by changing dead zones. I’ve been pretty lucky. That’s over a year I’ve had the controller.
Just sent my elite back last week for the 7th time for drift..they gave me 3 new ones, same result. Told them I want refund today. Definitely gonna try scuff
I have bad stick drift in both sticks and my Elite would randomly disconnect. So I'm going Scuf this time even though I can't map my buttons anywhere I want like the Elite can.
@cosmicabyss7358 I didn't like the scuff, I now play with the 8bitdo ultimate controller. I highly recommend the controller. I also have the Xbox infinity controller, another great controller.
Hi, thank you for your review, i prefer microsoft, because this controller have battery, and have ability to customise, but scuf looks Great, and have more comfortable position 4 button))) and for my opinion cost of scuf very big in my region is 240$ its 2 elite controll)))
sorry but the fact you can use regular batteries is a major selling point. ive actually had to replace my ps5 controllers after just 1 year because the internal battery failed, and my elite series 2 lasted only 9 months, again because of the crappy battery.
@@Gavlaaar88 i kinda just stumbled onto your channel, for what its worth you have something good going here, keep up the great work. and smart man wired is always the best way to go. lol
I've never had a problem with my Xbox elite controller 2 core since it's release until I dropped it off my desk and it cracked but it's still perfectly fine the actual controller itself i only need to change the shell so its a pretty solid controller but apparently some people are having problems right out box or even only having the controller for a few months but that was the elite controller 2 not the core model but there the same controller so im not sure why that is
Hey ! Thanks for the comment , I did wonder if the core models were exactly the same as the standard elites , maybe there is some durability improvements. Thanks for the info !
You failed to mention that the scuff doesnt need batteries. USB C is all it needs to power on, resulting in quicker response. The scuff is far superior.
@@Gavlaaar88 Likewise. You get what you pay for. In this case, you get high quality/longevity from the scuff hence the price. I still own the original instinct I brought, no issues. Went through 4 elite series 2, each having a bunch of problems. The most noticeable being stick drift just after a month in some cases. Buttons and magnets losing effectiveness ect.
Can you explain this please. SO I can wire the controller to the xbox old school and you reckon it smore responsive. like in game noticably so? Lol will it improve my ADS times :)
Surprised you did not even talk about the analogs or the d pad which are the biggest major differences between the two controllers especially for competitive gaming. The analogs for the elite controller are heavy and slow to snap back. They will tire out your thumbs over long play periods 4 - 6 hours or more. I have even got some bad cramps that last a week and felt like mild arthritis and I always had the tension on the lowest. If you need full control over the analog and make precision movements and fast jerks, it's a heavy slog. You have to put more pressure on the elite controller than you do on other plastic analogs like PS5, PS4 or Xbox Wireless. In competitive fighting games you will be using the d pad. The dpads on the elite are the opposite of what you want for a fighting game. They are rigid, and uncomfortable. The classic d pad is serviceable however but you will find it unforgiving after doing your 500th DP motion. It is simply incomparable in the comfort and precision you will get doing the quarter circle motions on the X Box wireless hybrid dpad. If the SCUF's hybrid is anything like the Xbox Wireless (Series X/S) then it is supremely better than a solid metal dpad and exceeds the PS5 dual sense although after some breaking in the DS4 is quite a decent dpad for such games. This review is missing some very important key discussion points I suggest you add to it because it could use a more technical analyses.
Hey ! You make a great point regarding the D-Pad this isn’t something I even considered , especially as you said how it effect competitive fighting games. Thanks for pointing that out , you clearly know your stuff when it come to that area. I will keep this in mind for future content. Thanks again , great comment.
@@Gavlaaar88 Thanks. I did some research and they use the base Xbox Series X controller so the hybrid d pad is the same. I do think that dpads are an important part of controllers even if you do not play fighting games.
Instinct pro: 6 month warranty. Elite series 2: 1 year warranty. I love the mouse click triggers on the instinct pro but the removable paddles, rechargeable battery, extra accessories, magnetic thumbsticks and d pad, lower price point, and IMO generally sturdier feel of the Elite series 2 are more than enough for me to recommend the latter more. I've also heard from people that Scufs customer service is terrible and that paired with there warranty sounds frightening
Hey , thanks for commenting. You make some great points about the Elite , especially when it comes to the attachments. I’ve always felt that the Elite feels like a controller for someone who plays a broad variety of games and prefers comfort over the more competitive focus of that Scuf. Great comment , thanks again.
1000 percent. This entire discussion begins and ends with the shelf life of the controllers. Scuf has PLASTIC built in paddles, which break (new or old models) around the 6-8 month mark. Now you have no choice but to buy another 200 plus dollar controller when it happens bc they no longer give you the option to replace them.
@@Nacional-Socialismothe original long plastic paddles broke from experience tho the only reason I don’t have my scuff to this day is my dog obliterated it
@@Gavlaaar88 well I play apex a lot and it's the ping button which means it probably gets pressed a lot more , and the poor quality just causes it to give out fast
I've got both, reason being is that I had water damage on my elite 1 so my insurance sent me the newer model, while I waited I bought the scuff. Seriously, for me it has to be the elite 2, the weight of it makes it feel a lot more robust and comfortable to play with, my personal preference of course. I've never suffered from stick drift on my elite bug I have on the scuff. The customisation as you state is far better also. So for me it's the elite for the win! You have to give Microsoft props for building a controller this good when PlayStation only offer there crappy, lightweight, cheap feeling out of the box controller. Hope this helps anyone, great video I'll be subbing :)
Hey yo ! Thanks for the kind words , means a lot. Also yeah , them PS controllers seem a little flimsy. Curious about their version of the elite which released recently. Again thanks so much for watching !
I like the elite 2 I hope they correct the quality on the elite 3 and even adapt the half dome triggers the dualsense edge has that is a game changer. I have 2 elite 2s as one had an issue with the back switch breaking
I feel like people are too easily accepting to battery pacts.... especially built in, non-removable batterys. That means when the internal battery goes out so does that whole controller. No thanks, instead of a new $200 controller every couple years I'll just buy $20 worth the rechargeable AA batteries every couple years.
I know this video is old but how did you forget about the software settings in the elite 2 you can adjust dead zones on triggers and and curve settings on the joysticks the presets instant aggressive smooth and you can customize it your self to make your own I just ordered my own scuff to see for my self and I just like collecting controller
Hey , great comment. This video was my first comparison between two controllers and I should have done a better job in mentioning all the features . I have mentioned this in my future videos which talk about the elite series 2 however. Thanks for commenting and for watching !!
get the elite 2 almost every single. video i see is talking about stick drift on scuf. the only problems on elite is the bumpers my 2 elite had the bumpers break LB fixed in 30 min way better than having stick drift which means you have to replace the joystick. had my elites for around 3 years best controlers
I'm in the market for a new controller due to stick drift on multiple stock controllers. I'm so glad you highlighted the elites problem of stick drift as it was up there with the eswap. I just can't get to terms with the price point of the scuf. Saying that it does seem to be more appealing than the elite to me. Good work on the video man
Hey !! Yeah , stick drift does seem to be a main area of concern for the Elite. Oh and yeah I was the same with the SCUF price point. Glad I have it now though. We was given the elite as a gift , so at least I didn’t have to splash out on that. Thanks for watching , as always l.

A button double presses all the time, B sticks, and right bumper requires tons of force to register an input. Id say maybe it was a one off dud, but so many others have similar issues with ELITE 1 and ELITE 2, i was a chump who figured they would have fixed all the problems with 2 but nope.
Yeah I have bad stick drift in both my sticks after moderate use for about a year. I've never had this in any controller I've owned not even the standard Xbox Controller. My Elite 1 even still works other than the RB button fell off. Lol
Haha when you say it like that it’s crazy 😝. Although I’m lucky enough to have had a little bit of spare money to afford one . It’s defiantly some price for a controller.
Until Microsoft decides to use hall effect based sticks, instead those cheap potentiometer joysticks. They will always be trash, and no more than a paper weigh every 3 months. 😂😂 They want people to buy 4 controllers a year. I pray everyday for a " Planned Obsolescence" class action settlement.😂😂
I've only had an issue with the joysticks on the first gen Xbox controllers but since then never had an issue. Yes I wish they did holo sticks but not really any controllers for Xbox do it yet
Weird in the customizable category you didn't mention that the scuf controller can have the faceplates changed out giving it almost an infinite amount of appearance customization...the scuf should be the clear winner in this category as you can not change the look of the faceplate on the elite series 2.
Hey Cameron , I did mention this feature. I should have made more of a point about it though , although I hadn’t purchased one of the faceplate covers at the time.

Exactly ! Thanks for counting bro
I have gone through 3 elite series 2 controllers, they are awesome but after a few weeks crazy stick drift or bumpers not working. I just ordered my first scuf, I'm excited to see if it's better.
Yep, these controllers are garbage, worst premium product ive ever purchased what a waste.
@SuperNeutral I wouldn't say the elite controller's are garbage, but they kinda are. I have been using the scuf now for a week and I love it.

I plan to re map my A button to a paddle so that I can jump on COD wayyy easier. Hopefully that works.
@@streetmissile1k yeah it’s great for that . I remap the B button also , so good being able to crouch without taking my thumb off the sticks
That Right bumper seems to coming up a lot in the comment ! Hope you have luck with your Scuf. Let me know how you get on. Thanks for commenting.

I hate the built in battery. Cause you can't replace it.
Haha yeah my regular Xbox controller seems to be indestructible also
Thanks for watching and commenting !
Why would you buy a top tier controller if you only game a few times
@Nate da Great so when I do play I would have the best
EASY FIX TO THE DRIFT IN EVERY CONTROLLER AND ALSO ALL CONTROLLERS FAIL IN THAT APART SO THAT'S SHOULD NOT BE A CONSERN

@Gavlaaar 88 I can tell you're passionate about it. One day your work will pay off!
Rocking Elite 2 for around 6-9months. Zero issues, but I've never dropped it.
Nice !! You're more careful than me then haha. Keep on gaming !!
Just wait, no dropping required.
same never dropped it grips falling of and bumpers breaking trash
Bought and elite series 2 from amazon had stick drift right out of the box so I sent it back and got a replacement and that one was even worse couldn't click in the right thumbstick and it would stick when I pushed the right thumbstick to any direction
I had this problem with stick drift and returned it and got a new one 3 times and each one still had the problem
Like the feel of the controller but stick drift after 3 days is not worth a $200 controller..
to add to it i owned the Elite 1 and the rubber grips came off in 1 year of moderate game play and the LB and RB button broke on me those are buttons that should not break on you very cheep support i found
Same exact issues I had. But I have both the elite series 2 and series 2 core for about 6 months and they perform really well
Thinking about getting a scuf instinct pro but can you tell me what 4 thumbsticks come with it as i prefer both stock height but domed and do you now if kontrol freaks fit the non domed.
@Gavlaaar88 thanks for the reply as I've just ordered one and I'll check out your channel regarding the optional extras
Ive had two and both had the same problem, Going back to an original controller feels impossible as ive played with paddles for years.
My bumpers seem to not register on one push, and then register multiple clicks on the next!
I have been through 2 elites so far. The RB button always goes. This is why I’m here
That seems to be the most common complaint I’ve seen in the comments , also had some say the A button stops working !
My rb was inconsistent for months. Then all of a sudden started working while my bottom left paddle has the same thing happening currently. This also being my 2nd elite I’ve owned since returning the first one on warranty

Lol
@@Gavlaaar88 have you had any issues with the scuf yet
@@SuperRaptor686 hey 👋 so far the only real problem I’ve had is stick drift on my left stick . But it’s nothing that I can’t remedy in game by changing dead zones. I’ve been pretty lucky. That’s over a year I’ve had the controller.
I still preferred elite 2 controller not for the price but elite 2 solid built controller
Hey Saad, yeah it's undeniable that the Elite 2 is a side controller. I can't totally see why its many gamers favourite! Thanks for the comment btw !!
Just sent my elite back last week for the 7th time for drift..they gave me 3 new ones, same result. Told them I want refund today. Definitely gonna try scuff
yeah had the same issue twice before, Scuf for the win in that regard.
Yeah drift seems to bethe main problem with the Elite, thanks for commenting !
Should I buy a scuf or a elite
What kinda games do you play ? Do you mainly stick to one genre or do you jump around ?
Elite rubber grips will warp so I'm moving on to SCUF
Hi, thank you for your review, i prefer microsoft, because this controller have battery, and have ability to customise, but scuf looks Great, and have more comfortable position 4 button))) and for my opinion cost of scuf very big in my region is 240$ its 2 elite controll)))
sorry but the fact you can use regular batteries is a major selling point. ive actually had to replace my ps5 controllers after just 1 year because the internal battery failed, and my elite series 2 lasted only 9 months, again because of the crappy battery.
Hey ! Ive actually had so many people say similar to yourself. I actually find myself playing wired a lot these days. Thanks for commenting
@@Gavlaaar88 i kinda just stumbled onto your channel, for what its worth you have something good going here, keep up the great work. and smart man wired is always the best way to go. lol
@@avgjoesgamin9935 hey , thanks for the kind words. Means a lot !! Have a great day.
very useful video im just going to get the elite 2 controller
Hey Kev ! Glad to help you decide, let me know what you think of the Elite 2 when you get it. Oh and thanks for watching and commenting.
Why mention the squeaks if you won't show us?
Didn’t mencion neither that the elite series 2 has built in settings to customize
Yeah I didn’t did I. Although the Elite won the customisation section without that . Thanks for mentioning.
You failed to mention that the scuff doesnt need batteries. USB C is all it needs to power on, resulting in quicker response. The scuff is far superior.
Great point . I’ve actually started using mine like that all the time these days
@@clownbaby3877I've talked to several people who have had the instinct pro for over a year and I've never heard of the blades breaking.
Scuf now offers a 1 year warranty on their site.
@@Nacional-Socialismothe original long plastic paddles broke from experience tho the only reason I don’t have my scuff to this day is my dog obliterated it
Elite quality issues are a bust for me went through 2 in a year both time the right bumper gave out
I've actually had a couple people comment saying the same thing about busted right bumper, wonder why the right specifically?
@@Gavlaaar88 well I play apex a lot and it's the ping button which means it probably gets pressed a lot more , and the poor quality just causes it to give out fast
@@coreycutright4070 true, but my replacement controller also went bad after like 5 months
Right bumper went out for me recently as well. I have went through about 4 elite series 2 controllers. Just order my SCUF should be here tomorrow.
@@DoozzyD I also bought a scuf
Yeh i have heard scuffs break in less than 3 months durability sucks on them apparently.
I like the elite 2 I hope they correct the quality on the elite 3 and even adapt the half dome triggers the dualsense edge has that is a game changer. I have 2 elite 2s as one had an issue with the back switch breaking
I'm planning to get both of these controllers 😊
Did you?
And if you did, any issues so far?
deserved my sub g
Hey !! Thanks so much !
I didn’t like with my elite that the thumb stick would fall off if dropped
Haha yeah I found this also
Then don't drop it lol
please make a video on stick drift
What would you like to see. How bad it is for both ? Or what I think is worse ?
@@Gavlaaar88 i guess just how to prevent it long term and temporarily fix it, it would probably go viral
I feel like people are too easily accepting to battery pacts.... especially built in, non-removable batterys. That means when the internal battery goes out so does that whole controller. No thanks, instead of a new $200 controller every couple years I'll just buy $20 worth the rechargeable AA batteries every couple years.
Good point !! Had a few people say similar ans that they actually prefer batteries over a battery pack. Thanks for the comment !,
The lb buttons always jam so you have to take it apart and reline it on the elite it’s annoying reason for why I’m watching this vid
I’ve heard the RB button going quite a bit , Mainly from souls players.
I prefer changable batteries its definetly not a drawback in my book.
Yeah had a few people mention they prefer being able to use batteries
I have both competitive go for the scuff
That’s the side I fell on, got for SCUF if competitive minded.
Thanks for commenting btw. !
get the elite 2 almost every single. video i see is talking about stick drift on scuf. the only problems on elite is the bumpers my 2 elite had the bumpers break LB fixed in 30 min way better than having stick drift which means you have to replace the joystick. had my elites for around 3 years best controlers
@@Gavlaaar88 Nice at least you didnt fork out for both then. I will let you know about the eswap if you want as im going to try and get one for xmas.

@@Gavlaaar88 only problem I’m scared about is only having 6 month warranty on the scuf … I want to move from the ES2 because I’ve had 6….. they’ve all become squeaky / buttons stick, but knowing the scuf doesn’t have a big warranty puts me off :/
@@anrs3153 yeah that defo a concern. As I said I haven’t had any problems. Although I hadn’t with my elite either. Looking through the comments here some have had some durability concerns with the SCUF. Guess it depends how much hard use it gets
My Elite 2 is basically useless after little over a year with moderate use, not abuse never thrown.
Lol
@@cosmicabyss7358 yeah lol my car still works even though the the passenger door fell off!
But seriously MS should be ashamed.
bro 210 pounds (that's even more in euros) for a controller... its two thirds the price of the series S
Haha when you say it like that it’s crazy 😝. Although I’m lucky enough to have had a little bit of spare money to afford one . It’s defiantly some price for a controller.
i got the elite 2 core just because the color and bought the rest separately
Hey nice idea. What colour did you go for ??
Both have their good points !
Hey is they any chance u can send me a controller i just moved to united states and can afford a second one so i play with my brother
The scuff has better color schemes but I’m sticking with my elite series 2
Until Microsoft decides to use hall effect based sticks, instead those cheap potentiometer joysticks. They will always be trash, and no more than a paper weigh every 3 months. 😂😂 They want people to buy 4 controllers a year. I pray everyday for a " Planned Obsolescence" class action settlement.😂😂
I've only had an issue with the joysticks on the first gen Xbox controllers but since then never had an issue. Yes I wish they did holo sticks but not really any controllers for Xbox do it yet
@@Cammmmeronthrustmaster

Weird in the customizable category you didn't mention that the scuf controller can have the faceplates changed out giving it almost an infinite amount of appearance customization...the scuf should be the clear winner in this category as you can not change the look of the faceplate on the elite series 2.
Hey Cameron , I did mention this feature. I should have made more of a point about it though , although I hadn’t purchased one of the faceplate covers at the time.
The scuf is perfect, i can map the back paddles to left button i can click 10 cps so i can be mc pro
