learned how to completely repair that controller. from stick drift to bumpers to a whole new shell. super easy to fix if you have patience and buy a backup elite controller so when one is down for 4 months you still have a spare.
Got mine about 5 months ago and haven't regretted it for one second. It's sits so well in the hands, and the back paddles have been a game changer for FPS (specifically BO6 so far). My left thumb is thankful I'm not clicking a stick to run, and I can slide, jump, run, and reload without taking either thumb away from movement or aiming. Trigger limits, stick tension, you can literally customize just about everything. Accessory App is super handy for little tweaks to the experience, but not necessary. I only wish is that I just bought the bundle with paddles and extra sticks off the hop instead of a Core + accessory bundle. The Core without accessories is still a top notch controller, but you're leaving out arguably one of the most important features this controller offers...paddles!
@lknlegend2035 I take really good care of my electronics. I still treat my Elite 2 like a brand new controller. Every night after I'm done gaming, I put it back in its case. I wash my hands. No sticky or greasy fingers goes a long way.
The elite 2 controller is a good controller but it will eventually fail, most likely the bumpers. If you buy one get it at best buy and get the geek squad 2 year warranty, and use it when something goes wrong, amd then get the warranty again on your new replacement. Basically $60 to replace ypurmcontroller whenever you feel you need a new one. Ive been doing this since the series 1. That being said, its ti,enfor a refresh. Better constructed bumpers and halo sticks is what it needs
Elite 2 hasn't been worth it for years now. Bumpers consistently fail, sticks get loose even with the tension adjustment, and you can get better controllers for significantly less money. Gamesir G7 SE is two less back buttons but better in every capacity for $45, dramatically better price.
As someone that went almost there whole life never having any issues with gaming controllers besides the elite 2 I can say they are garbage. They are the nicest feeling controllers but there quality is garbage. Me and my brother got them at the same time. We are in our 40s now and like to game still but we are not hardcore or anything. Both of our controllers had issues with x not registering every hit out of the box. I replaced mine and new one still did it. A year later of light use and we both have drift and my brothers left bumper stopped working. I ordered a new one recently for my laptop and it came with a broken left stick and replacement was fine for 2-3 months but not has terrible drift even worst then my original one that’s two years old now. I have never had an issue with a regular Xbox controller and went back to regular ones now. We need an elite 3 bad.

I just ordered a core from amazon for £85 and a third party full kit ... everything except the wireless charger in a case £16 everything came to £102 . I feel like i just got a bargain ! Lets hope it works 😅😂😂😂
My controller keeps disconnecting. Can someone help me? It’s updated so is the console. Also normal controller don’t disconnect just my elite series 2.?!?!?!
They feel nice but had nothing but trouble with them, I've got 2x and sent them back over 30 times to be replaced in 2 years most had stick drift out of the box or within the first month and the rest had multiple problems didn't pay anything extra because of the Microsoft 1 year warranty now just use them on single player games on my xbox/pc
Do you mean how there's a little bit of movement in the thumbsticks? Not too bad for me, but I could see how that might be an issue if it were to get worse.
It’s a good controller, just feels outdated because it’s 5 years old tech. It needs some updates. Haptic feedback, touchpad just to make it worthwhile against the shiny DualSense.
I don't pay so dear again for a control of those I had the elite 1 died the elite 2 equally buy another elite 2 this time the core pq was from a friend who didn't use it and gave it to me for 50$😂
#1 - Great video and discussion. Definitely takes time to learn and I cut my teeth on back buttons using the C40 on Division 2. #2 - The xbox elite 2 is trash. I hate to say that, but besides the weight, the buttons are loud and sound and feel cheap when using. The right and left bumpers are notorious for dying or not registering presses, which I experienced. I went through 2 and friends just don't let friends play with trash controllers.
I’ve definitely heard some horror stories. I might do this again, but revisiting after a year to see if I’ve had any issues pop up. Hopefully the Elite Series 3 will fix those issues and really stick the landing all around. 👍 Thanks for watching!
I hate that you have the ADVANTAGE if you buy a more expensive controller and get more kills it is not fair imo ! I just want a better build controller that doesn't get stick-drift in 5months of use
As long as it's available to EVERYONE, no one can complain. Learn to play claw if you don't want to pay more. Advantage gone!... better system. Better monitor. Headphones! These are all advantages! Most people still play on TVs. 😂
I do have 7 xbox controllers piled up in a big box over the years They could be the best Controllers money can buy but MS decided to screw over their customers by designing and engeneering them to fail and i refuse to buy more from this sh*tty company Or you can spent some extra on a soldering tool, some sticks with HAL and some proper bumper switches...
Ive had this same red one since Christmas 23, going on a year and still plays like a champ. Use it pretty much everyday. Got a design lab coming for Xmas 24

@garrettstrutz7421 this is how I know you're very opinionated without researching, Yes They don't have Hall effects BUT guess what, Hall effects still drift (My g7HE does right now), also potentiometers are optimized and work more accurate & better right now than hall Effects, the Elite series 2 has 1000 resolution sticks meaning it's more accurate than majority of controllers right now. Let’s just be honest the elite 2 is overpriced outdated garbage. I feel bad for people who get tricked into buying the elite 2. Especially now days there has never been a bigger better selection of pro controllers. There are Chinese companies making better controllers for $50. The elite 2 is bottom of the barrel for pro controllers
I do enjoy higher end controllers but the back triggers aren’t required for me as someone who’s played claw and has 10 Years Worth of muscle memory of playing claw. But these controllers can give you a huge advantage if you don’t have that much muscle memory with playing claw

In bo6 you can make the trigger dead zone nothing so it fires immediately

Right I have the 2 elite 2 and the g7 SE I use much more the g7 than the elite and on pc the g7 is super fast in response time

How is the clicking noise? That’s all I care about. The clicking noise is awful with standard controller

The only thing I don't like about this controller is the loose analog, and it gets worse overtime.

I agree that the sticks do feel a bit loose. It is annoying. I also dislike the LT and RT triggers. The triggers on the series X are perfect.
