You can test the EGR valve , for closing and opening via VCDS.

Interesting I have a 07 plate Audi A4 Sline 170bhp 2.0 tdi
Feels bogged down whilst driving can’t do anything from 30-45mph because the Glow plug light flashes and EML also comes on? On code reader got a fault P0299 turbocharger/ supercharger underboost????
