Also makes more sense now when he tells Cal “you know nothing of the force”, Cal never completed his training sure, but Dagan whips out force abilities I’ve never seen any other Jedi do

the 5 eras of the jedi order spanning over +25,000 years, the earliest era of jedi, old republic, the new high republic jedi, the classic(classical) era jedi and luke era of Jedi. The earliest, old and classic ere Jedi and others have been extensively studied and told, yet the High republic Jedi videos are emerging. This is the era that our culture desperately needs to see and experience. We're slipping into darkness (yet again) and the high republic era is something to strive for. I've lived both.. the light is much better.
Am I looking forward to seeing this? No. Disney can not tell a story this subtle or complex. They will fuck it up. There is zero doubt in my mind on this point. Stories of periods where the light is dominant and remains so HAVE to be subtle and nuanced. Modern Disney has proven again and again that if they can not smash it to death with a 30 ton hammer then they can't do it at all. In Star Wars. In Marvel. In it's own movie properties. They don't have what it takes. I wish they did.
@@benwasserman8223 If the Disney Star Wars stories worked in the movies then why did four out of the five Stare Wars movies made by Disney suck so badly? IF Disney could DO this sort of thing they would have been doing it since 2012. Evidence suggests you have gotten the wrong idea. Question. Solo was meh but apparently it has some fans for Qi’ra-related reasons. Only bad one is Rise of Skywalker. Also your issue is twofold 1. Star Wars book authors are not the screenwriters, even if they operate in the same universe. And 2. These guys quote stuff from the prequel and sequel era in their stories. So you’re probably just mad good stories can be told in the Disney era. Oh and I’ve read 90% of High Republic books. Comics and audio drama included. @@selvahechicera4292 Considering how the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws game features Crimson Dawn as a syndicate - thereby establishing the comic run where Qi'ra appeared in the OT era -- I'd say this recognition of the Disney era is still happening. Ironically, that's the film that featured the most drastic rewrites, story changes and reshoots leading up to its release - funny how fans tend to ignore that aspect. Also Plan 9's RT critics score is 66%. The Last Jedi's is 91%. Just saying there's a big difference.

You mean the acolyte? You mean the era were they do more kongfu than using the force. Honestly the acolyte is just like the high republic era. Very boring story.
This just shows how much damage Yoda had caused in the last century of the loathsome jedi's existence . His arrogance , horrible decision making skills , his complacency , his subservience to the Senate and his myopic views caused the destruction of that order.
Apparently Kathleen Kennedy made sure the director didn’t watch any star wars movies or shows to “attract a new audience”. Can only see this show blowing up in its own face but I’m open to surprises.
Wow it’s amazing how much you butchered that statement. Headland is a massive SW fan and an EU fan and said she added one writer to her writer’s room who hadn’t seen SW. And she did so precisely because she wanted to prevent The Acolyte from being just fan service.
@@benwasserman8223 Exactly, Andor was made by a non fan and look how it ended up. It’s so weird that Star Wars suffers when fans write it but prospers when non fans do it unlike other IP’s.
@@fulcrum6760 I think that's a misconception. There have been great SW shows/cartoons written by fans in the sequel/Mandalorian eras. But when Lucas and his team did the OT, PT and TCW, they were pulling from a variety of historical, cinematic and geopolitical references and throwing a space fantasy twist on them. By comparison, new SW media often seems to be drawing inspiration from Star Wars itself. Which is what fans claimed they wanted, until they realized that limits the scale of ambition on a series. I mean think about it. If Andor were written by fans, Cassian would have met K-2SO by the end of season 1. And most of the stuff involving Luthen and Mon Mothma wouldn't be half as interesting as they turned out.
I keep getting your stuff recommended and I can't stand it. the 5 eras of the jedi order spanning over +25,000 years, the earliest era of jedi, old republic, the new high republic jedi, the classic(classical) era jedi and luke era of Jedi.
The earliest, old and classic ere Jedi and others have been extensively studied and told, yet the High republic Jedi videos are emerging.
The jedi should at least put all lives including themselves above any mission; I guess the jedi become abit mislead at the end of the era. In situations Jedi should always cooperate with professionals or elete skill rescue teams of anykind.
How long has Yoda been a Jedi? Did he get to watch the downfall of the Jedi firsthand over hundreds of years? Cause we know he's old.
Will we see a young Yoda???? 🤔
Yeah probably used Mack chargers and plugs yeah.
Love the old republic because of the sith but i love the high republic as its the era of the Jedi when they were the most powerful and intelligent. It shows what the Jedi should always have been
I don’t like the whole white and gold outfit it too vain for my taste and just feels off.
Not to menchin a lie this era was boring for jedi they didnt think sith were around. So the big D made it all shiny and changed everything about the time.
@@drakodarth5706 I felt like these Jedi wouldn’t last long against the Sith Empire of the old republic.
Everything you just described the High Republic Jedi as, Disney is against. I'm so sad these shows will end with nonsense.
Thank you for this video. I’ve more or less avoided the high republic novels because there’s no real dark side presence, nothing to challenge the Jedi in the force. I see these heroes in a new light after this and look forward to revisiting some of the high republic novels from a different point of view
Of all eras, why would the show choose this one to push some non star wars theme of “no good or evil, only power”? This sounds like an era when the goodness of the Jedi was the most obvious
I think the point is to show that “no good or evil, only power” is wrong and is something only evil people think.
@@Wright805 I sure hope you’re right. If that perspective is proved clearly wrong in the end, hooray. I’m not confident that they’ll do that, though, because the sequels failed to decisively disown the philosophy: “Let the past die”
Is the high republic fun? I know nothing about it.
Remember guys the high republic is all canon the new timeline the old republic is legends
Ehh it’s kind of mixed. Like OR stuff takes place so far back that it doesn’t disrupt modern canon. But no one acknowledges them beyond a few passing mentions.
This is the era that our culture desperately needs to see and experience. We're slipping into darkness (yet again) and the high republic era is something to strive for. I've lived both.. the light is much better.
I prefer the Old Republic Jedi, but the High Republic books are excellent.
This was stoopid for them to change this. Go back to the OG stories all there doing is making me hate my childhood.
And yet every review for High Republic books and comics have been over the moon ecstatic. So clearly these Disney stories are working
@@benwasserman8223 If the Disney Star Wars stories worked in the movies then why did four out of the five Stare Wars movies made by Disney suck so badly? Surely with such source material to work with we would be seeing mind blowingly good stuff from them. Instead of Solo. Rise of. you get the idea. IF Disney could DO this sort of thing they would have been doing it since 2012. Evidence suggests you have gotten the wrong idea. Question. Have you read any of these comics or novels or are you just reporting from reviews? If not perhaps you should look up the relationship between reporting and access. Or, are you perhaps already acquainted with that relationship?
@@selvahechicera4292 Force Awakens was good. Rogue One was good. Last Jedi, despite what people insist didn’t happen, received widespread acclaim from critics.
Hell I’ve even watched that Young Jedi Adventures cartoon- so yes, I’m an expert here.
@@benwasserman8223 Your perception of reviews is delusional. Plan 9 from outer space had higher reviews than the last Jedi. The Force awakens did better than plan 9 but it almost culdn't help it given the hype and the fact it was the first of the sequel trilogy. The name Star Wars alone would have gotten it that pre Disney era. And it didn't exactly won by much. Neither did Rogue One which was the best of the Disney 5. You liked Solo did you? I know where you can get a CAT scan.
And, as far as the screen writers not writing the books, Duh. That was not MY argument WAS it?
@@selvahechicera4292 Considering how the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws game features Crimson Dawn as a syndicate - thereby establishing the comic run where Qi'ra appeared in the OT era -- I'd say this recognition of the Disney era is still happening. And Rogue One isn't the best of the Disney films - it's first two acts are wildly inconsistent and saved by how good the final battle turned out. Ironically, that's the film that featured the most drastic rewrites, story changes and reshoots leading up to its release - funny how fans tend to ignore that aspect.
Also Plan 9's RT critics score is 66%. The Last Jedi's is 91%. Just saying there's a big difference.
A lot of the Jedi tried to go on the quest to find #TDBank💳 card to enlightenment... 🌎💘💰
Hey fellas, since I found out on screen rant that the first Jedi prime Jedi founder of the Jedi order was the first skywalker. You can look it up if you don’t believe me also, I’m beginning to wonder. Before the birth of tarre vizla the Skywalker’s and house clan vizla met each other. One of them fell in love, and then year years later. Tarre vizla born from a Skywalker and from a vizla
Nah bro, that would be one of the worst things to happen, keep current sw characters and families away from the vs ideas of the prime jedi
Screen Rant is not a sw source or perhaps you just simply misinterpreted their words, there’s no official sw source that states what you are saying
@@youuglymessYeah that sounds dumb.
Hello there @TheStupendousWave
god I hate this era
Really cool era but I don’t trust Disney to tell a good story about it. Honestly feel like they might mess it up all together.
Old republic were the strongest. High republic were the most “enlightened” and led to their downfall
I can get behind that.
If you want to know how powerful HR Jedi are, in their first book, the Jedi coordinate a galaxy-wide effort to prevent ship full of explosives from blowing up a nearby a sun using the Force. It’s kind of incredible.
In my opinion I think the High republic of the era is the beginning of the end when it comes to theJedi order especially when Yoda became the grandmaster because that’s when the dogmatic , narrow minded thinking started to arise.
Looking forward to watching the Acolyte when it comes out to 🔥.
Who is killing jedi?
It's Palpatine. Somehow.
Yes the high republic era Jedi where more connected with the full force and they stayed out of senate affairs unlike yodas order
Jedi order in general yes but not Yoda as he was friend the chancellor of this era
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
I hate sand
It truly WAS a different time then.. apparently every faction was much stronger then its movie series counter parts.. sayings like "don't make them like used too.." must particularly apply when talking bout Force Users.
high republic is trash
Womp womp
I think the people at Disney are the ones that are high if they think that we accept this as Canon. lol
The HR Era. It's very aptly named. Full of DEI and stunningly brave characters.
This is the Era that WOULD have defeated Palpatine. This is the Gold Standard, ESPECIALLY how it says they take pity on their enemies. Along with being so willing to help everyone
No, this is the pansexual rock standard (aka.. rock bottom).
@@darthsilversith667you really don’t like Geode lol, he’s only a side character in a YA and main novel, you’ll live.
@@frostyfrenchtoastlolllll RIGHT?!?! Everyone complains about geode but he’s barely in the High Republic
In canon the sorcerers of tund were historically both light side and dark side force users. Canon just added more depth to them
The best thing for me about the High Republic was the Drengir and they still messed them up.
The high republic no one asked for we want the old republic
The High Republic books are amazing though. Did you give then a fair shot?
Then why watch?
Then play KoToR and shut up
Both are awesome in their own way.
Why bitch about it? The high Republic era jedi are just as good as good as the old republic era jedi simple as
High Republic is lit af most SW fans clearly haven’t read the dank ass Marvel comics, limited Dark Horse runs, and even the manga are nothing but pure rawness bro. Heat 🔥
You mean the acolyte? You mean the era were they do more kongfu than using the force.
Honestly the acolyte is just like the high republic era. Very boring story.
Your so right I'm glad uve seen the whole series.
I just can't get into the high republic at all
🩶
This just shows how much damage Yoda had caused in the last century of the loathsome jedi's existence .
His arrogance , horrible decision making skills , his complacency , his subservience to the Senate and his myopic views caused the destruction of that order.
I don' t care about anything thats related to Disney Star Wars, this High Republic is a woke trash.
so in short, yoda ruined the jedi lol
Give the High Republic a chance. You might end up liking it.
That's what they said about the sequel trilogies or any Disney star wars property.
Apparently Kathleen Kennedy made sure the director didn’t watch any star wars movies or shows to “attract a new audience”. Can only see this show blowing up in its own face but I’m open to surprises.
Andor was made by a non fan.
@@benwasserman8223 Yeah I know but there’s also stuff like KOTOR which was written by a non fan too.
Why the High Republic Era is way more lame and ghey than you think...
Nice cathleen cennedy south park reference
I keep getting your stuff recommended and I can't stand it.
Just something about the way you title things as though you were talking about real events or real world history just aggravates the shit out of me.
In a fictional universe things are the way they are because that's the way the author wanted them - the end.
There is no "what if Master Yoda got his green nuts crushed by the sentient force wielding amoeba colony on The Frozen Piss Moon of Testiclese VII.
Didney Wars is not canon, and should just be ignored.
„Disney Wars“ has some very underrated aspects
'Why the Disney diversity Jedi were way stronger'
Yeah. Because Disney diversity has to make every one of them Rey.
