Just finished reading ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’ and it really opened my eyes to some new ways of guiding my kids in their faith. Highly recommend it if you’re looking to strenghten your family’s spiritual life

This guy reminds me of my grandfather. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, there were still patriarchs like this. My grandpa was a big hulk of a guy who rarely spoke, but when he did everyone within earshot shut the hell up and listened. When he passed away >2500 people came to his funeral

Unfortunately if a man puts his foot down, he's called an abusive narcissist, she divorces him, takes the kids, half his wealth, etc. The authority of the man has been subverted by poppa government. So if the law stays like it is, it's going to be up to women to find appreciation for such a man. I knew someone who put his foot down (as he describe) and his woman left him for an emasculated man, and threatened him to never see their child every again. The leverage is now in the hands of women.

Yeah problem with taking everything elders say at face value is that in reality, things change. In today’s world you can be a great husband or a terrible husband and get taken down all the same. A lot of women (especially western ones) are very self destructive when it comes to relationships. Especially because social media has inflated so many peoples egos into thinking they are better than they really are, and that goes for guys and girls. That’s what happens when relationships are less about actually caring for one another and more about feeling good in the short term.

Yeah my wife left me and she's been gone for 4 months. Why? Because we disagreed on things. And those disagreements made her mad and mentally abusive. And her mental abuse made me angry. And she'd use my anger against me to tell everyone im a psycho. I paid for counseling and coaching and she did none of the work. She just blamed everything on me and took my son and ran. Were now getting divorced.

I get what he's saying. But the blame isn't on fathers or husbands. The blame is on a lack of morals and ethics across the board. I heard someone once say, "The business of business, and the business of life are the same". And that is very true. If you carry yourself with morals and ethics inside the home, it will carry into all other aspects of your life including your job, business, or career. If you lack morals and ethics inside the home, it will have a negative impact.
The blame is with the Feminist system that disempowers men and sets them up to fail in all capacities, including as fathers and husbands. The real question is: why are men allowing this?

👏👏👏👏 I listen to this man at 57 because as a woman growing up without a mother and having a father who was emotionally absent I can still learn life lessons from Dwayne. How much I wish I had a father like him. His children are blessed to have been guided and protected by this man.

As a small child my father was very strict with me he beat my butt when I needed it. He was always hard on me no matter what I did. I remember my mom telling my dad that I was gonna grow up hating him. I remember my dad saying he doesn't care if I hate him he wanted me to grow up and be respectful and do the best I can at everything I do in life. My father to this day is my best friend and iam glad he raised me the way he did.

Exactly, older men will never fully understand. It sucks because younger men are just left to fend for themselves, all the while being blamed for the world’s problems. We don’t have anybody pointing out problems on both ends. Not older men, not women, not the church, nobody. Hell, I’ve never even been past a first date in my 25 years on earth and somehow I’m blamed for the relationships between men and women.

My husband left when I was 4 months pregnant & we already had a baby girl that was 10 months old. I had to become the bad guy for my 2 girls because it what was I had to do because the man of the family ran off with another woman. I love this man, he is EXACTLY like my Dad in so many ways. I come to find out years later that when guys would come to my house looking for me my Dad would first take them into our basement & show them his gun collection. He would say, this is my friend Remington & Winchester...if you hurt my daughter, they will hurt you. Now I know that it is wrong now today but back in the late 70's in Canada it was happening. To be a protector of your family isn't easy, it's tough I know, I had no choice but to be that for my daughters. When guys came to the house for my daughters I didn't show them my gun collection but I did tell them at the door that I have 2 friends that would help me if you ever hurt my daughter. I also spanked my daughters & whatever cloth this man was cut from, I as a woman have some of that same cloth cut in me too because I will do whatever I have to do to protect my daughters, that's my responsibility & I take it seriously. A lot my daughters friends got pregnant & the common denominator was that there was Father in the house that didn't care what his daughter did or an absent Father in the house where the Mother wasn't able to do the right thing for her daughter. I am happy to say that both my daughters are still virgins today & they thank me for protecting them from the "boys" because they don't want to marry a boy, they want to marry a man! Bless this man, I agree with him 100%! I'm still a single Mom living in Toronto & holding down the fort as they say. God Bless everyone!
Sorry, can you please make your point clear. Is it good or bad that your father controlled who his daughter dating with? Was it the case that your husband forced to marry you by Remington & Winchester and then used first chance to leave?
The last 5 generations of men have been sent to overseas wars. Lots of brave men lost to someone else’s cause. There is a price to be paid at home, and this is one of them.
Women too. I choose to serve in place of my ex-husband. My daughter and son are likely to join to start their own lives, because it’s how I paid for college and gained experience for the teaching career I have now. I ended up leaving him after I realized how foolish I was for choosing someone who didn’t choose me-in the form of porn addiction, Ashley Maddison, etc., it still took me seven years, as I fight for our marriage in therapy. I would have left service if I felt we could have survived on his income. He’s remarried to another sugar momma, and I don’t time or energy. I’d rather spend it on my kids, especially my sons. I wish my dad had protected me, but he took my ex’s side at first due to his own trauma dealing with divorce, and I remember how bad it was for him. He remarried my mom 6 years later, after a brief failed marriage to an alcoholic crazy woman, with sons I loved as brothers. I’ve learned I can only count on myself, and be there for my kids.
I never understood the things my dad went through until I became a father myself. You love your kids so much and want to say yes to everything just to make them happy. That’s not a reality though. They need to hear no. They need to disciplined. I get the phrase “this is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you” now.
Women get cash and prizes for breaking marriage. State governments (least in Texas) use 4d and 4e statutes to match money proceeds to judges and government for levying child support. This creates no win situation for a man in this day and age.
As a man, here is just a brief description of what a real man should be. A man is a protector of the weak. He has honor, dignity, and compassion. He spends time with his family. Leads by example. He puts his life on the line for others. There are very few men in this country today. Little boys with bloated egos.
You cannot lead any partnership or organization when your partner or followers in an organization are taught from birth to diarespect you and are incenticized to break the partnership up for monetary rewards and social clout.
Yeah, nobody really acknowledges this. They just blame men for being too weak, the problem is we'll go to jail for being strong raising our voices to say, "no we're going in this direction" or divorced if we don't do whatever our wife says. There is no hope until this is addressed.

The man must be a saint or a fool, because a lot of monstrous people get old. Our society is so amazing that it allows it to happen. Getting respected because you lived long enough in a time when it's easier than it's ever been in history to get old is wild. There's a difference between not treating someone poorly and Respect. I'm an older guy and my grandfather told me "Respect is something you earn, and you KEEP earning it the rest of your life." I think he's right, and he lived and died a respectable man.

I do not agree with everything Dewayne says. But I do see value in his words in most cases, regardless of my personal opinion. He's spot on when it comes to the plight of families. Without the bedrock of a stable mom & dad, kids are very likely to go down terrible paths, with no one to guide them through their trials. Everyone makes mistakes, but too few have a repository of wisdom from which they can draw in times of need.
Yeah, I wanted to interrupt him by saying it's not the old days...if you come down hard on your wife or make her resent your decisions she'll just vent her anger to the nearest nice guy stalker on FB just waiting to DM her some shade about you. And your children can call you abusive and hide at school while getting se change.
This guy is 100% spot on. My father was incredible and my wife’s dad was an alcoholic excuse for a father. It damages kiddos when dad is a male but not a man.
Claiming the marriage is solely dependant on the ‘worth’ of the man absolves women of responsibility to marriage. You can put your foot down all you want, but she can just walk away and is in some cases highly incentivized to.
We live in a country where parents are having their children forcefully taken from them because they won't "gender affirm" their kids. CPS shows up, and the kids are gone. This guy would pull out a pistol, and either end up in prison or dead if he was to carry out the words he speaks in that scenario... If we're in a country that allows that, I'm sorry... Fathers and husbands haven't failed... They've lost. Against whom? The ones we were supposed to lead, provide for, set examples for, and discipline... In the Christian faith, the man is the leader, but this doesn't mean the woman is "a useless object", this means the leader NEEDS a follower, and the follower NEEDS a leader. Is it commonly said that the woman is a representation of the quality of man, because at a s*xual level, the woman chooses the best man. So a good marriage is represented by a good man, but that's because he is the leader. If the woman is bad, then the marriage is bad, which means the man is bad (and vice versa). It's all connected, in marriage, the man and woman become one.

To expand a bit further on that, the reality is there are systems in place that are designed to destroy the family unit point blank period. Fathers didn't just forget how to be fathers. Good men with morals are being fought against because that is not good for the agenda of the corrupt institutions ruining the country. Financialy you will be bankrupted at every turn. From Experience, Respect is Earned in a loving marriage. A loving marriage requires sacrifice and humility and safety. If your wife doesn’t respect you…maybe you are not a husband that needs to be respected. I understand there is a progressive feminist vein in our culture that can be toxic to a marriage that conflicts with a Gospel Centered marriage. I’d recommend not marrying a women that doesn’t share a Gospel Centered world view in the first place. Without truth and humility, you will experience chaos. Notice how he started his response first with God. If your worldview is relative…well, good luck…you will live a life that is always in unbalance and chaos.

I do remeber standing in the aisles to attend church. Many people went to church on sunday. When all businesses were closed on sunday for people to go to church. Even the gas station was closed. The year we closed the doors was when there was no more people to sit in the pews. All we had left was the choir, the father of the church and organist. About 10 people.
This is the tired old fake “man up” line where we’re expected to take responsibility despite having pretty much zero authority over a family in the current legal environment. Assuming responsibility without having actual authority is a fool’s errand. The one thing fathers and husbands must do is FIGHT the system that gives women all the family authority and DEPRIVE the system of OUR labor until our authority is restored.
If you have 'zero authority' over your family it's not the legal or cultural environment's fault. Instead of 'fighting the system' I tried to do my best to raise four boys into men. That was more important than the system. It was not a fool's errand.
Kids need guidance and boundaries set, but most importantly they need freedom and responsibility as the get older. Parents neglect teaching their kids how to become active problem solvers. How can you expect a kid to navigate the world on their own when they're older if they have never been taught to become their own guide?
Every girl needs a father like this man but some of us aren’t so lucky. My dad failed me at a young age but still to this day has not admitted, I have forgiven him but I had to be a solid person for myself. And for that I thank him

Yeah…I was raised by a father a lot like him… “just wait until your dad gets home” was a time of deep reflection on my actions. Lying got me double. My father-in-law questioned me on the porch before I was allowed to enter the house eat with the family. I can say “it works”; if you have a Christian household.

Yeah, alot of his actions wouldn’t intimidate me. I see through this as insecurity and not “love”. You can’t through life without disagreements and “hurting” the other person at times. Unrealistic. I don’t do bluster and dig my feet in.

My follow-up question would be, do you blame the men that marry someone who divorces them over "Not being Happy", takes half the man's stuff, and takes his children for not raising his own kids right, or do you blame the fathers of these women for not raising their women right?
They will blame the fathers for not raising their daughters right. It’s a shame; it's not even worth arguing with these people; they already know everything in their minds. My sister divorced my “ex” brother-in-law because they changed as “they grew up, and he wasn’t funny or into sports.” These were literally her exact words.

A LOT of fathers that have daughters just let them raise themselves, without guidance. My mother's partner for over two decades is exactly like this. And because of this, it ruined them mentally, it wasted years of their lives, it caused them to make incredibly vast amounts of bad decisions through life, and he isn't doing anything but suffer the consequences, all together. And these people all believe that they are doing just great, and they are above others. Their lack of ego development, they don't even know what it is. Ignorance is bliss to ignorant people. So many DO NOT deserve to build families because they build families over unfinished foundations, and this causes nothing but hard ache in the long run.
I had an absent father. He had an absent father. There was no husband or father in our home. No leadership. No provision. No discipline. My mom and three kids suffered. We still are. Mom is 83. My brothers and I are in our early 60s. None of us married or had children. We grew up in the 70s and 80s. My brothers were stuck. They struggled to grow up. I struggled to clean up the mess my father left behind. My mom struggled to make ends meet. It was sad. Too much sorrow.
This guy operates under the assumption that the females are always operating honorably with a high degree of self accountability. That is almost never the case. His methods are outdated.
I LOVE this guy! What a man! Wish I had a dad like this. I did unwittingly marry a man-baby and the next 29 years were very difficult. We are divorced now and I am NEVER getting married ever again!
The problem is many things. Not just men not being men. Its also greed and lazy parents not teaching their kids to be good people that are willing to work. Then you have the extremists on the political spectrum. On both sides. Not just one.
I would say that the real problem is single mother households or broken homes. I believe that an intact family, a healthy family with a healthy relationship and marriage are what we need. Yes men have a responsibility to be strong and to be able to control themselves and their lives. That being said I do not believe that this is inherently a male problem. I believe that this is a societal problem.

The first boy my daughter brought around never introduced himself or shook my hand, I didn’t approve and expressed that to her immediately. Of course her mother (my ex) had the opposite sentiment. Well, didn’t long before she realized who was right. She made sure the next boy I met properly introduced himself.
I agree with this.... if it was 60 years ago. We live in a different environment today where if you try to hold a woman accountable she'll have 4 other men in your bed by the end of the week and a court system and society standing behind her for it. It shouldn't stop you from doing so but the feeling that "The battle has been lost" runs high among men today. You cannot expect to take a young woman who has never been held accountable by family or society or even to the same extent as men by the law and expect them to all of a sudden fall in line just because you're a good leader and father.... That's not going to happen. They've been taught to take advantage of that by society, not respect and support it. 50 or 60 years ago a marriage could exist like this. But except for a few fleeting examples, that's just not going to happen today. I got incredibly lucky in finding my wife who was raised like this but it took me from the age of 17 all the way to 34 years old to find a woman who wanted to have a partnership and marriage based on morals, values, and commitment to one another. It's a very real struggle for young men today and good character and morals are considered a weak point by most women, not a strong point.
It depends on the woman, there's good bit of women put there who honestly want a family. But unfortunately, these women may not be the drop dead gorgeous women men today desire!

The lack of God in the home is another failure point. People go to church but have no Holy spirit/aim to God in their home. It's not even a topic point of the church or family structure today. Madness.
My dad used to do the same thing when I was asked to go on a date. Boys were afraid of my dad. But when I was 22 I met my future husband. He may have been afraid of my dad but he was the one who had the guts to go talk to my dad.

I think it's the parents responsibility to teach their children how to be successful. To get them out of the house by hopefully, 18.

I was raised under a similar parenting style, but from my dad. My mother was a different story. For the most part I didn’t have to worry about my dad spanking me because I wasn’t inclined to lie to people who I cohabitate with, nor was I inclined to physically abuse people smaller than me. It never happened. Doesn’t mean I never got beat, but those beatings were done by my mother later on and were not justified, nor were they meted out fairly. I know the difference now. So for Dewayne running his household, not as a tyrant but as a responsible father, I’m far more inclined to be supportive than I am critical. I’ve seen how much of a difference it makes to have a level-headed father being the disciplinarian, versus an unhinged mother. I’ll say this: By and large, if you’re a good kid, you don’t have to worry about being disciplined if your dad is this kind of father. Where you need to be worried is when they’re a true, power-hungry, unhinged tyrant.

I hope in addition to teaching his children not to lie, he also taught them to be able to handle the truth. I believe one of the most common reasons why people lie is because they're afraid of what others will think of them and how they'll treat them as a result of not liking the truth and/or being unable/unwilling to understand.
One key ingredient that made this all work. He maintained a fully intact family and marriage with their mother. Tryng to be this effective of a father outside the home of your daughter is not likely to produce this result. You guide your daughter, but unfortunately she is influenced by the mother she lives with more than you who leads her against your advice and ruins her decision making in your absence. Plus the hole in your daughter's heart over the break-up and the fact that you're not there all the time anymore has a negative impact that in many cases drives he into the arms of the wrong guy. Keep it in your pants and don't EVER create children with a woman who is not your wife and never will be.
I’m a father of three sons. I’m a great father and great husband to their mother. But this guy is right. Men can be better and should. We’ve just been screamed at by pop culture that we should shut up and sit down. But I can see the tide turning and men realizing their greatness.
While I'd love to have a dad who is deeply "committed to my safety and future", I would hate to have a husband who doesn't speak about marriage as though it's a partnership. He makes it sound as though the success of a society is dependent on men/husbands/father alone.

This guy reminds me of my grandfather. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, there were still patriarchs like this. My grandpa was a big hulk of a guy who rarely spoke, but when he did everyone within earshot shut the hell up and listened. When he passed away >2500 people came to his funeral

Unfortunately if a man puts his foot down, he's called an abusive narcissist, she divorces him, takes the kids, half his wealth, etc. The authority of the man has been subverted by poppa government. So if the law stays like it is, it's going to be up to women to find appreciation for such a man. I knew someone who put his foot down (as he describe) and his woman left him for an emasculated man, and threatened him to never see their child every again. The leverage is now in the hands of women.

Yeah problem with taking everything elders say at face value is that in reality, things change. In today’s world you can be a great husband or a terrible husband and get taken down all the same. A lot of women (especially western ones) are very self destructive when it comes to relationships. Especially because social media has inflated so many peoples egos into thinking they are better than they really are, and that goes for guys and girls. That’s what happens when relationships are less about actually caring for one another and more about feeling good in the short term.

Yeah my wife left me and she's been gone for 4 months. Why? Because we disagreed on things. And those disagreements made her mad and mentally abusive. And her mental abuse made me angry. And she'd use my anger against me to tell everyone im a psycho. I paid for counseling and coaching and she did none of the work. She just blamed everything on me and took my son and ran. Were now getting divorced.

I get what he's saying. But the blame isn't on fathers or husbands. The blame is on a lack of morals and ethics across the board. I heard someone once say, "The business of business, and the business of life are the same". And that is very true. If you carry yourself with morals and ethics inside the home, it will carry into all other aspects of your life including your job, business, or career. If you lack morals and ethics inside the home, it will have a negative impact.
The blame is with the Feminist system that disempowers men and sets them up to fail in all capacities, including as fathers and husbands. The real question is: why are men allowing this?

As a small child my father was very strict with me he beat my butt when I needed it. He was always hard on me no matter what I did. I remember my mom telling my dad that I was gonna grow up hating him. I remember my dad saying he doesn't care if I hate him he wanted me to grow up and be respectful and do the best I can at everything I do in life. My father to this day is my best friend and iam glad he raised me the way he did.

My husband left when I was 4 months pregnant & we already had a baby girl that was 10 months old. I had to become the bad guy for my 2 girls because it what was I had to do because the man of the family ran off with another woman. I love this man, he is EXACTLY like my Dad in so many ways. I come to find out years later that when guys would come to my house looking for me my Dad would first take them into our basement & show them his gun collection. He would say, this is my friend Remington & Winchester...if you hurt my daughter, they will hurt you. Now I know that it is wrong now today but back in the late 70's in Canada it was happening. To be a protector of your family isn't easy, it's tough I know, I had no choice but to be that for my daughters. When guys came to the house for my daughters I didn't show them my gun collection but I did tell them at the door that I have 2 friends that would help me if you ever hurt my daughter. I also spanked my daughters & whatever cloth this man was cut from, I as a woman have some of that same cloth cut in me too because I will do whatever I have to do to protect my daughters, that's my responsibility & I take it seriously. A lot my daughters friends got pregnant & the common denominator was that there was Father in the house that didn't care what his daughter did or an absent Father in the house where the Mother wasn't able to do the right thing for her daughter. I am happy to say that both my daughters are still virgins today & they thank me for protecting them from the "boys" because they don't want to marry a boy, they want to marry a man! Bless this man, I agree with him 100%! I'm still a single Mom living in Toronto & holding down the fort as they say. God Bless everyone!
Sorry, can you please make your point clear. Is it good or bad that your father controlled who his daughter dating with? Was it the case that your husband forced to marry you by Remington & Winchester and then used first chance to leave?
The last 5 generations of men have been sent to overseas wars. Lots of brave men lost to someone else’s cause. There is a price to be paid at home, and this is one of them.
Women too. I choose to serve in place of my ex-husband. My daughter and son are likely to join to start their own lives, because it’s how I paid for college and gained experience for the teaching career I have now.
I ended up leaving him after I realized how foolish I was for choosing someone who didn’t choose me-in the form of porn addiction, Ashley Maddison, etc., it still took me seven years, as I fight for our marriage in therapy. I would have left service if I felt we could have survived on his income. He’s remarried to another sugar momma, and I don’t time or energy. I’d rather spend it on my kids, especially my sons.
I wish my dad had protected me, but he took my ex’s side at first due to his own trauma dealing with divorce, and I remember how bad it was for him. He remarried my mom 6 years later, after a brief failed marriage to an alcoholic crazy woman, with sons I loved as brothers. I’ve learned I can only count on myself, and be there for my kids.
I never understood the things my dad went through until I became a father myself. You love your kids so much and want to say yes to everything just to make them happy. That’s not a reality though. They need to hear no. They need to disciplined. I get the phrase “this is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you” now.
Women get cash and prizes for breaking marriage. State governments (least in Texas) use 4d and 4e statutes to match money proceeds to judges and government for levying child support. This creates no win situation for a man in this day and age.
As a man, here is just a brief description of what a real man should be. A man is a protector of the weak. He has honor, dignity, and compassion. He spends time with his family. Leads by example. He puts his life on the line for others. There are very few men in this country today. Little boys with bloated egos.
You cannot lead any partnership or organization when your partner or followers in an organization are taught from birth to diarespect you and are incenticized to break the partnership up for monetary rewards and social clout.
Yeah, nobody really acknowledges this. They just blame men for being too weak, the problem is we'll go to jail for being strong raising our voices to say, "no we're going in this direction" or divorced if we don't do whatever our wife says. There is no hope until this is addressed.

I'm an older guy and my grandfather told me "Respect is something you earn, and you KEEP earning it the rest of your life." I think he's right, and he lived and died a respectable man.

In the Christian faith, the man is the leader, but this doesn't mean the woman is "a useless object", this means the leader NEEDS a follower, and the follower NEEDS a leader.

So a good marriage is represented by a good man, but that's because he is the leader. If the woman is bad, then the marriage is bad, which means the man is bad (and vice versa).

From Experience, Respect is Earned in a loving marriage. A loving marriage requires sacrifice and humility and safety. If your wife doesn’t respect you…maybe you are not a husband that needs to be respected.
I understand there is a progressive feminist vein in our culture that can be toxic to a marriage that conflicts with a Gospel Centered marriage. I’d recommend not marrying a women that doesn’t share a Gospel Centered world view in the first place. Without truth and humility, you will experience chaos.

I do remeber standing in the aisles to attend church. Many people went to church on sunday. When all businesses were closed on sunday for people to go to church. Even the gas station was closed. The year we closed the doors was when there was no more people to sit in the pews. All we had left was the choir, the father of the church and organist. About 10 people.
This is the tired old fake “man up” line where we’re expected to take responsibility despite having pretty much zero authority over a family in the current legal environment. Assuming responsibility without having actual authority is a fool’s errand. The one thing fathers and husbands must do is FIGHT the system that gives women all the family authority and DEPRIVE the system of OUR labor until our authority is restored.
If you have 'zero authority' over your family it's not the legal or cultural environment's fault. Instead of 'fighting the system' I tried to do my best to raise four boys into men. That was more important than the system. It was not a fool's errand.

The oldest is 26 and the youngest is almost 18. Hardly a different time free of bad influences.
If one takes a step back, it is easy to see that we’re falling apart because most everyone is thinking emotionally not rationally.
Kids need guidance and boundaries set, but most importantly they need freedom and responsibility as the get older. Parents neglect teaching their kids how to become active problem solvers. How can you expect a kid to navigate the world on their own when they're older if they have never been taught to become their own guide?
Every girl needs a father like this man but some of us aren’t so lucky. My dad failed me at a young age but still to this day has not admitted, I have forgiven him but I had to be a solid person for myself. And for that I thank him

Yeah…I was raised by a father a lot like him… “just wait until your dad gets home” was a time of deep reflection on my actions. Lying got me double. My father-in-law questioned me on the porch before I was allowed to enter the house eat with the family. I can say “it works”; if you have a Christian household.

Yeah, alot of his actions wouldn’t intimidate me. I see through this as insecurity and not “love”. You can’t through life without disagreements and “hurting” the other person at times. Unrealistic. I don’t do bluster and dig my feet in.

A LOT of fathers that have daughters just let them raise themselves, without guidance. My mother's partner for over two decades is exactly like this. And because of this, it ruined them mentally, it wasted years of their lives, it caused them to make incredibly vast amounts of bad decisions through life, and he isn't doing anything but suffer the consequences, all together. And these people all believe that they are doing just great, and they are above others. Their lack of ego development, they don't even know what it is. Ignorance is bliss to ignorant people. So many DO NOT deserve to build families because they build families over unfinished foundations, and this causes nothing but hard ache in the long run.
I had an absent father. He had an absent father. There was no husband or father in our home. No leadership. No provision. No discipline. My mom and three kids suffered. We still are. Mom is 83. My brothers and I are in our early 60s. None of us married or had children. We grew up in the 70s and 80s. My brothers were stuck. They struggled to grow up. I struggled to clean up the mess my father left behind. My mom struggled to make ends meet. It was sad. Too much sorrow.
This guy operates under the assumption that the females are always operating honorably with a high degree of self accountability. That is almost never the case. His methods are outdated.

I LOVE this guy! What a man! Wish I had a dad like this. I did unwittingly marry a man-baby and the next 29 years were very difficult. We are divorced now and I am NEVER getting married ever again!
The problem is many things. Not just men not being men. Its also greed and lazy parents not teaching their kids to be good people that are willing to work. Then you have the extremists on the political spectrum. On both sides. Not just one.
I would say that the real problem is single mother households or broken homes. I believe that an intact family, a healthy family with a healthy relationship and marriage are what we need. Yes men have a responsibility to be strong and to be able to control themselves and their lives. That being said I do not believe that this is inherently a male problem. I believe that this is a societal problem.

The first boy my daughter brought around never introduced himself or shook my hand, I didn’t approve and expressed that to her immediately. Of course her mother (my ex) had the opposite sentiment. Well, didn’t long before she realized who was right. She made sure the next boy I met properly introduced himself.

I agree with this.... if it was 60 years ago. We live in a different environment today where if you try to hold a woman accountable she'll have 4 other men in your bed by the end of the week and a court system and society standing behind her for it. It shouldn't stop you from doing so but the feeling that "The battle has been lost" runs high among men today. You cannot expect to take a young woman who has never been held accountable by family or society or even to the same extent as men by the law and expect them to all of a sudden fall in line just because you're a good leader and father.... That's not going to happen. They've been taught to take advantage of that by society, not respect and support it. 50 or 60 years ago a marriage could exist like this. But except for a few fleeting examples, that's just not going to happen today.
I got incredibly lucky in finding my wife who was raised like this but it took me from the age of 17 all the way to 34 years old to find a woman who wanted to have a partnership and marriage based on morals, values, and commitment to one another. It's a very real struggle for young men today and good character and morals are considered a weak point by most women, not a strong point.
It depends on the woman, there's good bit of women put there who honestly want a family. But unfortunately, these women may not be the drop dead gorgeous women men today desire!
As a guy whose father expected me to be just like everbody else but thought me nothing and i turned nothing like he wanted the only thing that i can add to this video is that the truth couldn't be told more clearly!
The lack of God in the home is another failure point. People go to church but have no Holy spirit/aim to God in their home. It's not even a topic point of the church or family structure today. Madness.
My dad used to do the same thing when I was asked to go on a date. Boys were afraid of my dad. But when I was 22 I met my future husband. He may have been afraid of my dad but he was the one who had the guts to go talk to my dad.
GD this show/podcast is seriously one of the best things out there. I’ve seen a couple of Dry Creek Dave’s videos, he’s interesting. But the variety of great guests you have is amazing. The fine line of having variety and good guest but not having wackos on is hard, and you guys have done it right.

My father was a very absent businessman. All he really told us children was that "I want you to be happy". Pretty horrible advice.
Sounds like his heart was in the right place and he loved you guys, but yes being happy and doing what feels good all the time leads to failure.
@@Sweetcorn97 He really didn't set any of us kids up for the future. He wanted to save money for college for us but my mom said no because that wasn't how she was raised. I think it's the parents responsibility to teach their children how to be successful. To get them out of the house by hopefully, 18.

I was raised under a similar parenting style, but from my dad. My mother was a different story. For the most part I didn’t have to worry about my dad spanking me because I wasn’t inclined to lie to people who I cohabitate with, nor was I inclined to physically abuse people smaller than me. It never happened. Doesn’t mean I never got beat, but those beatings were done by my mother later on and were not justified, nor were they meted out fairly. I know the difference now. So for Dewayne running his household, not as a tyrant but as a responsible father, I’m far more inclined to be supportive than I am critical. I’ve seen how much of a difference it makes to have a level-headed father being the disciplinarian, versus an unhinged mother. I’ll say this: By and large, if you’re a good kid, you don’t have to worry about being disciplined if your dad is this kind of father. Where you need to be worried is when they’re a true, power-hungry, unhinged tyrant.
Man I disagree with so much of this, fathers and husbands have been completely robbed of their “ability to put their foot down”.

I don't know about that. One very wise yes. The other is working on it. He's still young and I would consider him smart but not yet wise.
I hope in addition to teaching his children not to lie, he also taught them to be able to handle the truth. I believe one of the most common reasons why people lie is because they're afraid of what others will think of them and how they'll treat them as a result of not liking the truth and/or being unable/unwilling to understand.

One key ingredient that made this all work. He maintained a fully intact family and marriage with their mother. Tryng to be this effective of a father outside the home of your daughter is not likely to produce this result.
You guide your daughter, but unfortunately she is influenced by the mother she lives with more than you who leads her against your advice and ruins her decision making in your absence.
Plus the hole in your daughter's heart over the break-up and the fact that you're not there all the time anymore has a negative impact that in many cases drives he into the arms of the wrong guy.
Keep it in your pants and don't EVER create children with a woman who is not your wife and never will be.

I’m a father of three sons. I’m a great father and great husband to their mother. But this guy is right. Men can be better and should. We’ve just been screamed at by pop culture that we should shut up and sit down. But I can see the tide turning and men realizing their greatness.

While I'd love to have a dad who is deeply "committed to my safety and future", I would hate to have a husband who doesn't speak about marriage as though it's a partnership. He makes it sound as though the success of a society is dependent on men/husbands/father alone.
Yeah. I agree. Women have a lot of responsibility for the moral framework of a society. Much like men allow infrastructure, the economy, and law enforcement to work.

His channel has a fair number of videos praising his wife and the powerful role of women. It’s just that his channel is designed for men, so his content typically focuses on that
