    Nice flat rate fix! I knew you weren't going to get the upper housing to separate (BTDT), so flexing the housing is a solid way to do this without removing the entire dash (which is what the flat rate manual says you must do.)👍
    You are 100% correct about the door getting broken. I did this on my '06 IS350. I was able to fix it with a bit of a hassle, some glue, and a screw because at that time there was no part replacement available, only replacing the entire HVAC unit.

      Wow. Glad you got it fixed because there is no way a whole unit would be order for that small break. Lol

    Awesome job! I just broke my header dampener hinge today. I forgot to set the air to recirculate....and snap! Great video! I plan on doing the job in the next few days. This video is a total W! Thanks again!

      No problem. That's how I ended breaking mine years ago until I finally fixed it.

    Really great video, thanks for sharing. I had similar issue but on investigation it was a little plastic nub on the end of the plastic arm that goes from the servo to the new arm you got which attaches to the damper. I removed the damaged arm and put a correct sided bolt to replace where the plastic broke off which has done the trick. Your video on getting access to this was 90% of the battle though so thank you

      Just found this. Forgot to hit the recirculation button so broke the p.astic clip forcing the cover open.

    Nice job, those actuators can be finicky and need special calibration with the fancy lexus scan tool.

    Thanks, 2011 LEXUS IS 350. I found it difficult to reattach the blower housing to the main housing. I had to remove the screws for the upper blower housing to get the two together.

      Yes, it's not easy but whatever method found is still better than having to take everything apart.

    So I just got my buddies ISF it’s a 2013 and I just replaced the cabin filter but should that little cover be down like that all the time or is mine broken too? I had to lift that little cover up and hold it up as I was installing the new filter and pulling the old one out. Is that the way it should be guys?

    You can fix it with a Screw into the broken Part.

    Should the damper be open or closed position when the heater is on?

    • @btbuildthings
      @btbuildthings  14 дней назад

      Well, considering recirculation vs fresh air, not sure there is a correct answer.

    How did you diagnosed this? In my lexus is250 I have no heat and no movement on the position of this flap, is that connected?

    • @btbuildthings
      @btbuildthings  Год назад

      I don't think they are connected. You may have a clogged heater core.

    • @BullRides

      Hey, I have the same problem. No heat and no movement in this door. But the heat stopped working when a fuse blew for ACC system and I think this door is broken long before that. Also when I start my car the Ac doesn't remember the last setting.
