I love the look when the rice "washed" goes into the pot, that dagger look you give - loved it! I don't know how anyone can complain about washing or not washing rice or find anything bad about these videos. I just got an instant pot & this is very helpful! thank you!
This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Day 1 I was going to pressure cook a meat ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and potato stew, decided I wouldn't eat it that night so I went with a slow cook so I could go to bed and put it away in the morning. I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus - you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!
I have been making your yogurt in my 3 qt for over a year now. It's so much better than the store bought yogurt. I can change the flavor. I love making it lemon.
I bought your book after I got an instant pot just because of your channels lessons. I made a chicken yesterday. Easiest chicken ever and it sat warming for hours. I'm a huge fan because you use science and you test and show everything.
I found you a few months ago after getting my instant pot and you’ve been god sent. Whenever I’m discouraged about cooking for me & my boyfriend Again.. i find one of your videos and it reinvigorates me :) thank you for all you do girl!
I was using the 5-5-5 and tried your recipe and yes, there is a subtle difference. I use the eggs for snacks, deviled eggs and also egg salad. Lisa you are at the top of your presentations. Thanks. pS: I use the steamer basket also.
Jeanarino I’m glad to hear that because I can Never peel a hard boiled egg…I have watched so many RUclips videos and that egg shell never comes off smoothly
Lisa, my grandma's secret recipe for fantastic mashed potatoes is cream cheese. Put some cream cheese and less butter and then blend them smooth... and use red potatoes. Shush, don't tell anyone... it's her secret... they do taste really good.
I just bought an instant pot knockoff on clearance and I have been having a ball experimenting with it. My #1 eureka moment was when I FINALLY perfected the method for soft centered "ramen eggs" 😋. Starting with 1 cup boiled water, pressure cook the eggs for 1 minute follow with 3.5 minutes natural release. Quick release at end of 3.5 minutes and shock in ice water bath and enjoy
Oh you totally rock! I recently bought my own instant pot and started with eggs at 4 minutes with quick release because I had watched a video showing how to do it for 5 minutes and I like mine soft boiled so I thought I'd take it down a minute and then gradually decrease one minute at a time until I have it to where I like it. I just took a screenshot of your instructions and can't wait to try that myself! 😊😊😊🍜🥂
I've found a use for both the harder boiled and the more tender pressure cooked eggs. I commonly make deviled eggs. They reqiure a more rigid white for handling. While making egg salad, I want my eggs delicate and smoother on the tongue. Your experiment shows both perfect methods. Thank you.
I get fresh eggs from a friend and they are from different types of chickens. It's hard to get them all even but they are all good. I think I"ll try this method instead of the 3-4-4 method I have been using and see if that helps. They shells are much thinner than the store bought eggs but they are really really orange and much tastier. And did you notice that the headline for what i assume is yogurt say loaded potato soup?
I just inherited an IP duo plus 2 weeks ago and it's a game changer in my kitchen. I cooked whole eggs in 5 minutes and came out perfectly like boiled eggs. I've made some lentil soup, beef stew, rice, quinoa etc. , the list are endless. Enjoy your new gadget🤗.
Since you are moving in a tiny home with no oven another game changer is an air fryer. I have the Cuisinart which has the A racks and a pan with a shallow basket to cook fries etc. it is not the basket pullout type. You can warm, broil, toast, Bake and air fry. Saves so much space and I love it .
Anything using precooked meat, like the “chicken” sausage recipe, I always sauté the meat and then take it out and add after the pressure cook. I find it keeps the texture of the sausage in tact a LOT better!
How long would cook rice that is already parboiled like Rice a Roni? Would you use the recommended water that's on the box? Thank you for all the great content.
For the cajun sausage with rice dish, I suggest also adding chicken cut up in bit sized pieces. This will make this almost like authentic cajun jambalaya. Also in place of pork sauage if you can find andouille sausage, it will make it a tad bit more spicy. Personally I do not care for the extra spice so I use pork (and I also add a beef sausage for a bit different flavor). You can add or remove whatever you want from this recipe to suit one's own taste.
About he rage comment over washing rice: Specific recipes require extra starch that you only get with unwashed rice....Jean Pierre, an award- winning French chef on YT,, explains this beautifully and with lots of humor for those who are still clutching their pearls in horror.🤣
I boil my eggs high 5 mins, quick release and right into ice bath, cracking the tapered ends as they go in the bath. Perfect eggs every time easy peel too.
Loving the cute covers you use on your instant pot were can I buy these please I'm binge watching your videos at the moment as I get mine tomorrow from amazon its in the sale hear in the UK £54 bargain

That's exactly how I do my eggs also. Always perfect. Only I have a big bowl of ice water waiting for the eggs upon taking them out of the pressure cooker after the 13 min natural release.
I have to say that the Indians are your equal in the rice cooking dept! I never wash my rice! Turns out fluffy every time u make it. I sauté my basmati in olive oil. In a traditional stove top I do 1 cup rice to 1 3/4 water. My sister-in-law, who is from Middle East washes and soaks her basmati for 30 mins. Then cooks 1 c rice to 1 c water
wash your rice to reduce arsenic in rice which is harmful for us. i dont know about other people but as korean we are taught to wash it for this reason only though arsenic content may vary depending on each type of rice. brown rice has more arsenic than white rice.
I use your rice pudding recipe and I use Arborio...comes in a nice PLASTIC container with a screw on lid....I Don't Wash the Rice. Maybe if the rice is packaged in a bag made of some type of fabric, then I would wash the rice.
I don't wash my basamiti rice I get at sams and it doesn't still. I wash it and it sticks together. I do sauté rice in a little oil before adding water
Not the same. An instant pot has many functions & one of them is the "slow cook" function, which is a crockpot's only function . A popular instant pot function is the pressure cooking one.

I am White & only wash Basmati or Texmati rice-never regular Mahatma rice. This is what my dear mother taught me. Take heart, it has not killed me yet! I must say I don’t own an IP, but own a Presto stovetop pressure cooker I received as a gift from Mom. 2nd Presto in 40 years. First one got warped by one of my sons. I don’t know how they did that-no one confessed! Most of your recipes seem like they’d workin a stovetop pressure cooker just fine. The bad news is you need to be in the kitchen while your stovetop pressure cooker is operating. You may need to adjust the flame. It forces me to sit down, not a bad thing. Also, my new Presto has a thick bottom for browning without burning, and it seems to come to full pressure more quickly than an IP. Sorry that I don’t wash much rice, ha-ha. Must be a White thing! 🤣
Instant pot is amazing but it’s terrible for rice. Even in this vid, and I love this channel, the rice was clumped and looked like golf ball sized lumps.
Please all you chicken tender cookers cut off those terribly hard & chewy tendons on the end of those tenders. It only takes a quick sec to remove it. Put the blade of your paring knife almost flat, but slightly towards the tendon. Just move your knife down the tendon until you reach the end. It is very simple, leaves the tender enjoyable end to end & your family or guests aren't left with this disgusting wad in their mouths that they feel uncomfortable spitting out.
No wonder these things are so intimidating. I've watched a few videos and have yet to hear an explanatiin about "natural release," etc or any other BASICS
Hey there. Natural release just means that you are not releasing the steam right away. You’re letting it settle down on its own, so you won’t need to release steam before opening. Otherwise, quick release just means you’re turning the knob to release the steam. They’re really not that scary 😊.
Please don't make the recipe card jump around. You don't leave it on the screen long enough, anyway. And jumping around makes it hard to read. Are there been needing improvement in editing, this is a great video.

If you smooth the top of the yogurt so it is flat after you take out your serving of it, it will not pool up with the whey. Just keep the top flat.
