I got some during Black Friday and just got them up this weekend. I've had 2 neighbors tell me how amazing they look! I wish I could share how beautiful they look in conjunction with my curtains, spotlights, and inflatables. I am really proud of my Christmas display this year. Also, get a Showbox if you can. It's so cool!
GREAT. I'm so happy that you got your lights. I know that I'm happy with how mine look. YES, I heard that the Showbox is quite nice to have as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
Did mine 2 weeks ago, they look awesome. I put one clip per light as I don't want them to ever come loose. I don't trust the 3m tape alone in winter and summer.
I've put all the supplied clips on as well, but there aren't enough to fill the entire thing, so I've got some Gorilla two sided outdoor tape that I'm going to try to secure the cable between lights with. Hopefully, this will work. Thanks for the comment!
Quality video. I would have liked more information on length of the options. I bought 1 48ft string and wonder how to make that fit. I've got the bulb ones also for another 48 ft. I budgeted because I was splurging. Cost 150 together
I paid $199 from the original $299 that they usually go for. I know they are sold out right now, but keep your eyes peeled for supplies to return soon. Thanks for the comment!
Hi, Happy Holidays sir. Just bought the Govee Christmas lights set plus from Amazon. Just wanted the permanent outdoor light but they’re all sold out so I decided to get the “Set Plus” instead. Question, what are the size of the light itself (the square)? The reason is our house eaves don’t have a flat surface so I have to put a strip board all the way. Just wondering if 1x2 inch strip board will do? Thank you sir
The square light is just over an inch across. And, YES, I've seen where people have had a situation like yours, and they attached a 1x2 under their roof line to adhere the lights. It works out perfectly. I hope this helps, and thank you for the inquiry.
Can the power supply be plugged into an extension cord that is plugged into a grounded outlet in a garage? Our outside GFCI is in the backyard on back of house and is way too far from where we would put them. Thank you! 😊
I'm not an electrician, but that is what I did for my installation. I made sure it was a heavy duty extension cord that is rated for outdoor use, and it is also in an area that will not get wet. I hope this helps, and thank you for the comment! Best of luck!
going on 10 months later... is the light set still working like new? just wondering about the durability..? Thanks for this great review, your House looked amazing with the light show going...
I am actually thinking of doing an update video about the lights, and your question confirms that I should. To answer your question, YES, these lights are still going strong 10 months later. They perform as well as they did on the first day, and I have learned more about how to customize the lights on the app. I absolutely LOVE these things, and my neighbors get a kick out of the different displays that I have shown throughout the year. If you are thinking of getting them, I'd say GO FOR IT!!
@@mattsworlddiy How many different scenes do these have? Christmas, New Years, July 4th..etc? If there is a link to all the scenes, I would love to see it. Thanks for the video. Buying mine soon!
Hey, great question. From what I understand, it does not come equipped for that. I did, however, find something on reddit. Check out the thread, and I hope it helps. www.reddit.com/r/Govee/comments/158a7nr/3_way_y_cable_for_permanent_outdoor_lights/
I did some looking into this as I have never heard of it before, but I can not get a solid answer to your question. I am sorry, but if you find an answer, please feel free to leave another comment. Much appreciated.@@denniszaferis1242
Great question. No, I pushed the power only one time. Now, I have them set on a timer that I control on my phone. It's very convenient. I hope this helps!
There is a limit of how many you can put together. I think the max is 150'. They sell the 150' as a set by itself, or you could connect a 50' to a 100'. I'm only "thinking", but I imagine that you can connect the extra 50' to a 100' and be ok. You will know if it is not ok because if you have too many lights for a set, they will not even come on. I hope this helps, and thank you for the inquiry.
I did some reading up on this and found that they say that the stickers are only meant to be a "temporary" hold (not cool), so I got some additional clips off of Amazon (see link) where I attached ALL clips (theirs included) with the stickers AS WELL AS brad nailed each clip to my house to hold the string of lights. I added a clip to each side of every light, and I hope that everything stays. Yes, I have had several lights detach from the house using only the 3M stickers, that's what made me break down and get the clips. I hope to NEVER have to get on the ladder again! Thanks for the comment
I did the actual recommended installation from GOVEE. When the lights are closer to the wall of the house, the reflection appears more crisp and defined. Had I installed closer to the lip, I would not get the same effect. You have a good point, but I wanted higher definition in the lighting as opposed to concealment of the lights themselves. Thanks for the good question!
Steve. I'm not sure if this will help, but if you go in the app, then go to COLOR, and under the SEGMENTED section, you can play with the different segments to turn sections on and off. I hope this helps.
Hmmm...not really sure unless you add something to attach the lights to. The need to point down in order to get the correct effect. All the best to you!

Hi, in your demo video is that the whole 100’ strand put up? Is it possible to Y off of the control box or does it need to be at one end?

You will honestly not regret it. I'm amazed at how cool these things are. And I never have to get on the ladder again to hang lights :)@@dhlcla
Do you know if these lights are WS2811 compatible?

Do you have to press the power button EVERYTIME To turn these on? Or can they be turned on remotely.

Can you do two sets together with one controller

What are your thoughts on the 3m tape. I feel after awhile they will fall off.

Why did you install closer to the house making them much more visible vs closer to the soffit lip where they’d be more hidden?

Was coming here with the same question 💯
They don't reflect off the house right closer to soffit lip.
@@Hugh_Vincent exactly. They need to be fairly close to the wall to have the reflective effect. Thanks for your comment!
How many power adapters are included?
There is only one power plug with the 100' kit.
Been messing around with it and still can't figure out how to just set the corners

Side of my house doesn't have the overhang, thoughts on how to install
