    If you are placing it on your soffit you will find the light will sometimes land at a groove. Just place a fastener on both sides of the light. Keep the wire straight and it will look much clearer.

      It was honestly just a really well put together kit. Im mostly focused on quality. If good stuff is out there I'll use it and focus my time developing stuff that doesn't exist. I'm very happy with these govee kits.

    Looks good! Also, what i did, you can use the clear part of the diffuser for the lower part of the curtains for bottom weight. Just drill holes on the clear diffuser and insert each string in each hole and use hot glue so they won’t slide off. Little bit more work if you decide to change the method in the future

    Tip.....use denatured alcohol to clean where each pod is going to stick with a 100% clean cotton rag. 3M is great, but I would rather see a 3M with a screw mount to reduce failure. I feel pretty good about the cleaning and the 3M together.

    • @NextLevelNeo

      That's how i did mine in the video, it's held up great. Once the 3m gets a solid bond it will usually hold for years.

    I just installed all my govee lights. I have not seen the big Santa or reindeer scene that you have on your curtain lights. Is that a custom diy you did or just an option I haven’t seen. Would love to be able to put them on mine.

      Those are in the diy user uploaded section. Im planning on doing an in depth video going over the app once I'm confident in using it. It's got a lot of advanced control that you can use but can be a little confusing.

    • @NextLevelNeo
      @NextLevelNeo  6 месяцев назад +1

      Linking the curtains will change which animations you can use but it actually has more default animations linked than not. And the diy market is still accessible with them linked. I have a few custom shows i created uploaded to my profile on the diy page. And i am working on an app tutorial video showing how to get the most from the app. That should be done in a few days so make sure to subscribe so you don't miss it.

    You bought a govee kit. I thought you’d go a different way. Bright home lights does the same thing, with apparently a way to customise everything on it. And you can hook them up to your controller you mentioned. When you look at the bright home lights, they’re actually the same pods that you sell. So you could actually have made the permanent lights all by yourself. The govee or bright home lights kits are easier and less work, since they’re all ready to be installed. I’ve been looking around the internet too, the govee don’t seem to shine as bright to me if I wanted to use them as an outdoors light around the house. Not just for the holidays.

    • @NextLevelNeo
      @NextLevelNeo  7 месяцев назад +3

      I watched a few comparisons of different brands. They all seemed to be about the same brightness, the ones you are talking about have more density though. The biggest issue is those are rails so install is tough when hanging off the roof. If i had access to a scaffolding system or maybe a ladder(not so sure that would be enough for them) i could have tried that. But honestly I've got those same ucs pods and they are just about as bright as the govee. I'm honestly really impressed with the govee system and the app overall. It's super user friendly and can do advanced levels of control for those that want more. There's a user database where you can share your patterns and download patterns created by others. I'm so impressed with it that I actually applied to be a dealer for govee. Its quality stuff.

      I just put up the Govee lights & they are very bright. So bright, in fact, that I can really only run 'em at about 30 to 40% before they start to get embarrassingly bright turning our house into a circus show. Very happy so far.

    • @NextLevelNeo
      @NextLevelNeo  7 месяцев назад +1

      @billmartin3198 it's a really nice system, glad to see someone putting together quality kits with thick wire, bright leds, and a solid software interface. The pods are 32v and curtains are 5v running on 4 different controllers but it all syncs up with relative ease. There's always room for improvement but govee set the bar high on this one. I did find out they will work with other addressable controllers but I've played with tons of controllers from sp controllers to Wled and none of them are as tailored to home lighting as the govee software.

    • @banks412gmailcom
      @banks412gmailcom 6 месяцев назад

      What do you do when one of the LED pods goes out? Are they serviceable or replaceable in any way? I’m really curious to see how these lights are working for folks in 2-3 years after they’ve had time to be exposed to the elements (hot/cold) and humidity. Hope they do well, because the concept is awesome! Cheers, and thanks for a great video!

    • @NextLevelNeo
      @NextLevelNeo  6 месяцев назад

      @banks412gmailcom i guess time will tell but addressable leds are pretty reliable if they have a steady power source. I do a lot with addressable on cars, which is not a steady power source and just about the toughest conditions you can have for leds. I also have had addressable on computers for years and none burnt out.
      Worst case some leds burn out and you have to cut them out and splice in a replacement, not exactly fun but not like you have to trash the whole kit. These pods are built well and should hold up long term.

    I live in a very windy area will it last?

    • @NextLevelNeo
      @NextLevelNeo  6 месяцев назад

      The function of the leds shouldnt be affected by wind. the biggest question would be will they stay secure to the house. you can certainly take precautions like adding more screw in clips to ensure that they stay put even on the windiest days. So far it has been about 3 weeks since i installed them and none have fallen off. i did prep the surface with alcohol and it is all vinyl, wood may not fair so well. But my house is actually on a fairly windy hill top so it is getting a good bit of wind on it.
