One of the things that can make the Finale rotation really good is that Encore dazes him. This means he will go last next turn, which lets him solo to the front, get a speed buff and then go first next turn. This means he is effectively doing Solo into Finale back to back. So there is literally no time for the enemy to lose the combo token or disrupt the combo by getting a defensive token or apply a blind/weak token on the Jester.
Another cool thing about that is because Jester is doing solo and finale back to back he goes to the front row and back to 4th instantly so no teammate gets screwed by being moved.
I have my highwayman with all 5 memories and a quirk locked in giving him 15% more crit chance. So what I do is run sharpshot HWM and encore his grapeshot blast to nuke the front row. If you can get the shambler pet and find the 2 extra turn trinkets (give hwm a stun resist buff) I can grapeshot 4 times in the opening round.
I do something similar but instead of 4 grapeshots, it’s two plague grenades and an acid rain. I like it because it’s online all the way from inn 1 to the final boss, and stays useful that whole time
If you’re lucky enough to get the “Lost in Time” quirk with Jester. Soloist becomes his best path. Just have to constantly manage negative quirks so that it doesn’t get overwritten.
if you use a hero which benefits from stealth, the stealth isn't lost during encore if you use it on them before it's their turn. Super nieche but can be quite good on GR or the stealh +50% crit trinket
Even without that trinket Nighrsworn gr can benefit+50% DMG from stealth Naturally you just spam Shadow fade + lunge + pirouette, but with encore you can use Shadow fade + lunge + glint (or pick) + pirouette cycle
Jester is broken. All of his weaknesses arent real. Low HP? He applies dodge and blind. Low damage? Besides Finale, Encore and Slice Off+ end up outputting tons of damage because of the enabling of teammate damage. Truly his only weakness is being with bad teammates, but even that is difficult to say because he enables them so well that he can fix many of their weaknesses. This character is like MAA where I constantly question why he has things. Why does he have Vuln application on Slice Off+? Why does he have Combo removal on Play Out+? Why does he have multi-target Combo application on Harvest? This character is crazy. Also, as you get better at the game he becomes even crazier. He solves every boss. Encore for double Plague Grenade to clear Strangle tokens on General. Battle Balad to deny Hunger turn skips and provide extra damage to Baby. Encore to get a Tracking Shot off on Librarian before HWM takes his actual turn. Play Out+ to remove Combo and deny Suppress on Focused Fault. He probably solves Leviathan too but I never fight that garbage boss.
Virtuoso so good. Had an Exemplar pull an altar out with his big move, and then died immediately after to DOT. PD got hit by it's suicide move but fully resisted from the stress resist buff.
I just got all his abilities unlocked and I was hoping this guide would be released soon! Is there a planned schedule for when the rest of the guides will come out?
Schedule is kinda loose at the moment. Last couple weeks were pretty tough for me outside of the content game, so I'm hoping to pick the pace back up and finish off the main things like guides going forward.
I like running him with Leper and dumping a mastery into Fade to Black at the first inn. This way I can move back & mark + blind or I can move forward & mark + self-dodge (bonus points for Parrying Patriarch) while Leper Chops away (or Hews away if a non-cosmic encounter with Monarch since Hew isn't affected by his class debuff) at their front line. Also like using him for a cheeky consistent stunner with pistol shot from Dismas or extra Wicked Hack damage with Hellion.
@Alaberti It's because Dismas I bothered to remember his base name due to him earning it after the countless boss cleaves he punished with riposte in DD1 and the sheer destruction that is crit double tap in DD2. I also tend to remember Leper because of the history of Baldwin the 4th, but I can never resist the urge to name him Chad given how often I get Natural Swing and Sunny Disposition to pop up on him.
Just wanted to say thanks for the great dd content, man. I've been a fan of your channel since the old dd1 days. Great shit. Jester is fucking nuts in this one
encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale encore solo finale
14:54 either bleed or finale? What if u used upgraded slice off, battle ballad, finale, solo and inspiring tune? Because upgraded slice off offers vulnerability debuff on enemy which can stack with damage buffs to deal more finale damage right?
I really want to use Soloist, but 23 health has gotten my Jester killed more than any other character in my team. And it's usually double heralds or blight spam in the Foeter that knocks him out of the fight. Might be a skill issue I don't know
This may have been mentioned before and probably too late to bring up - but it would be nice for these guides if you included a particular team comp you like to run the character with including ideal skill paths
I like this game, i do but it feels pretty inflexible in team strategy- why would i take any other team except for PD, HWM, Jester + MaA. Youve got best healer, damage dealer, all rounder and best tank on one team. Just dont see any point at all in changing it up using chatavters like Runaway or Occultist who are just strictly worse- i wish the acts were perhaps more varied so youd really need a burn dmg dealer or two tanks for example. (Only time ive needed to switch teams was act 3 boss getting two taunters, flag + MaA)
You are right, but it's also up to you to make the fun of it, personally I'm of the opinion of running a random team per run, makes it significantly more enjoyable
I just started playing because of the console release but your series follows the early access on PC. I would love it if you would do these again now that DD2 has been released on console. I loved the first game but have been struggling with this one :(
@ShuffleFM I understand. I've been reviewing your series. There have apparently been some nerfs from when this was done. Hwy, Jester, PD... so thought I'd ask.
Battle Ballad can mess you up more than help with the movement. Plus it doesn't target rank 1 which is often a damage dealer. Harvest is bad and never used. Play Out is very bad. No redeeming qualities. Echoing March is also a bad ability. There fixed some of the optimism. The rest of his skills are decent or OP.
Jester used to be S+ tier character, but after they removed his line "I like to rhyme and commit crime" he fell into D tier category, such a shame.
true
I've never seen that line before. Now I am sad I'll never experience it.
They removed it??, it was my favorite line
wait why did they remove it? tf?
@@jepasdenom7643 ? bro what? you sound insane

Same.

I know it's kind of an old message, but did you have encoring himself in mind or somebody elseb
@@Shadow_BIadeYou can't encore Jester, only his teammates

Smh Shuffle, how can you not mention Vestal as best teammate? Clearly Jestal is mandatory for two games in a row.

If he has a crit, attack, and the enemy has a vul token, his finale does 64 damage. So he solves that issue pretty fast as well.
Jester is a 1 shot king. Probably one of the highest damage characters. Low damage is laughable.

Something good to mention is that the minus speed on soloist can make another team mate mark the enemy, allowing to potentially OS an enemy at turn 1
Intermezo with runaway's cauterize is a verry nice combo
Jester is my favorite ❤🎭
you said that upgraded encore removes the daze, but it only actually removes the weakness!

He is literally the 1st Hero I stick in the party. Then decide what I'm doing with the party to determine Finale Jester or Bleed Jester.

I bet you can pick 5 random buttons for Jester and he'll work fine.
This may have been mentioned before and probably too late to bring up - but it would be nice for these guides if you included a particular team comp you like to run the character with including ideal skill paths
Right, like a comp that really lets the character shine, so a team that doesn't just benefit from the character, but focuses on the character.
Vestal + jester encore does it work, cuz if it works you could get insane damage stacks on stationary carries
It doesn't trigger consecration a second time iirc
vestals consencration only trigger on the same character once per turn.
What they've said is true, but I've found that turn one double consecration is insane for the vestal to start spewing DMG
