I'm surprised you didn't mention Hellion. Her self healing helps to keep her alive through various limerance hits, even as it crits, and her taunt guarantees to keep some seen tokens off other heroes. She can hit every rank other than 3, which is pretty good for phase 1. She also gets stronger as her hp lowers without generating positive tokens, so as long as you do a good job managing her health you can get a lot of value as the fight continues through phase 2
I beat this on console last night with hellion in rank 1 doing the toe to toe and man at arms doing defender on hellion. Used jester and pd in the back for support and blind combat items like the smoke bomb, also used the monkey taunt combat item on man at arms for even more taunt on the tank
"Special Mention to Flagellant because that guy doesn't die." You can say that again. I remember fighting previous Obsession (the one where you wanted it to stack Seen on only 1 Person) and have Flagellant tank it single handledly via More! MORE!
As long as you have one or two dedicated "punching bags" that get hit by Obsession while they can survive the onslaught for 6-8 rounds before they start getting withered by its damage (you know its bad when Sleeper from DD1 is put to shame with this damage) this fight is managable, but still love how you need to actually plan ahead with this boss and its more than just damage race. Also its design and name is funny considering its currently the most edited, detailed and overdesigned boss in game, making its name even more fitting.
Win condition for Obsession is basically a speed poultice or two on your tank so they can taunt before the eyes can detect, then shimmering powder to clear seen tokens off anyone else. Ezpz.
Better go for it or you will get 3 seen tokens, get crit for 64 damage (because why not right) Edit: Seriously this boss has same energy as Fanatic or Vvulf, you know you are in for a bad time lol
It's crazy that I just beat Act 3 today on only the second run overall and my first attempt with the boss too. It was quite eventful: I lost 4 heroes with only the Vestal living from beginning to end and that was a close one at that; thank the Light for Defiant. Fighting the Warlord went unusually well and Monarch Leper took beautiful revenge upon the Exemplar. Having the Galea trinket from the Warlord, Book of Creative Insults and even Braggart on the Leper massively helped out which worked wonders for Ruin.
In my personal opinion, Graverobber and Runaway are the two best heroes for this fight, and by a landslide. Runaway does hideous amounts of burn (and yes Arsonist is the path to take), can alternate smokescreen and firefly depending on if there are any unfortunate seen tokens, and can run and hide to clear any tokens on herself. But Wanderer Graverobber really neuters Focused Fault. Repartee+ generates an unconditional 3 dodge+ and 2 taunt, letting her eat an enormous amount of turns from both the eyes in phase 1 and FF in phase 2. She can use absinthe during the off turns where repartee is on CD to get off death's door and generate more dodge, and if by some bizarre twist of fate she gets several seen tokens stacked on her, she can shadow fade back, though if this should happen the fight should already be almost over. If anyone is still struggling with Act 3, I implore you: take runaway r4 and r2 gr, and this boss will fold like a wet paper towel. EDIT: Also while not nearly as good as shimmering powder, which also dramatically reduces the threat of FF, there is a case to be made for noisemakers, as they provide another tool to control which heroes get the seen tokens in case your taunts or dodges have either whiffed or are on CD.
Thanks Shuff for explaining the mechanics of this battle. I always just relied on dps racing this boss while dropping heals on characters to get them out of DD while eating 40-50 damage crits. Turns out there is a better way 😂
Hi Shuffle, I rarely comment, but thanks to you and your video I was able to beat this boss after three failed attempts. Love your vids, please keep them coming!
Easy. Find the blood, get one or two of the trinkets that gives you a gobogozillion damage, & steamroll the eyeball in 2 rounds with burning stars, howling end, point blank shot, etc.
Finally able to play on PS5 and I've been living on your channel bro. Just hit act 3 so couldn't have been timed better. Loving the game and thanks for all your content. Just an idea for a video as well: best skills to spend mastery on. Cuz I definitely struggle with that sometimes lol
First try with Man at arms, highwayman, jester and plaguedoctor. The stealth powder came in super clutch, couldn't have cleared it without it. The boss is very easy if you manage to keep the eyes on one tank (which ideally can heal himself). Thanks for the great guides
Its weird as a new console player, how much easier focused fault is than the lungs and how much easier the stupid arms are than either of them. Its been just a complete snowball up til the final boss which I haven't reached yet
I can’t believe that I didn’t check this video before I fought focused fault the first time around. I completely forgot the stealth counters seen tokens. So I used shimmering powders and the boss was a cake walk. It’s all about the proper preparations.
Ngl I somehow rolled this boss on my 1st attempt not really knowing what I was doing right. After watching this and getting a better idea of combat structure, I’m pretty sure I’ll be the one getting rolled a few more times before beating it again 😅😅
I just kinda suck balls at DD2 I beat the first game on Stygian and had to equip the radiant flame to beat the 2nd act for the second game (forget what's it's called) I feel like the problem is that the first game you could fall back into the same team comps, go to the same dungeons, use the same items, and use the same skills to win. DD2 has you hanging by a thread constantly
I just had the biggest fucking RNG fest of my life. I killed FF and i did him and 2 fights with cultists before with 3 characters: Grave Rober (My Beloved), Duelist, Plague doctor. Currently 4 characters died during the run and i wanted to give up a couple of times. And to replace i only had Duelist left cause i didn't unlock a lot of characters cause i didn't want to play them just yet cause it's no my first save so i kinda know what they do. And dodges+ and regular ones worked most of the times. I got some lucky crits and lucky DD checks. And then THE LAST WOMAN STANDING duelist with her last turn... after her FF with 3 turns. She had 10% chance to crit and kill him... and she did it. Duelist I offically love you and you shuffle for this guide cause there's a lot of knowlage that i used to win. This... this made my day fricking 10% not mentioning all the RNG in the rest of the fight. Ofc i played my best but without luck and HER it wouldn't be possible. I guess p2w DLC haha jk. Oh and also I maxed loathing once so he was stronger XD
I beat this boss first try with my run of my burn team, it was easy but for some reason I couldn't access Act 4, even tho I did one run on it and the next day it wasn't accessible so I had to beat Obession again but after 2 runs I just couldn't beat it, perfect timing for this video.
I figure this thing for the first time the other day and while I wasn’t using ritualistic I was suing warlock and I still tried to malediction the boss and it of course got the 20% trist FREAKING TWICE. Wasn’t a very fun game experience there
I beat this boss on my last possible turn, absolutely brutal. Even my high dodge characters were getting absolutely destroyed by the second phase and some were getting one shot outright. Should also mention that my Man-At-Arms, who was an absolute carry the full run, got absolutely bullied by the AI from the prior act and had to resort to a pickup.
I remember beating this boss first try on getting to it, just spamed noise maker on my flag and had him stack the blight and bleed to actually beat the boss boss ( used graverobber piro and thrown daggers to kill the eyes with high crit )
I've been stuck here for 2 weeks with leper, crusader, highwayman, vestal and I feel like I just get unlucky I try to stick with this team and go for memories but I mess up everything with someone getting caught low health at the start and just gets punished, died consistently like that
@@ShuffleFM i finally beat it, used shimmering powder to remove the tokens on my PD and crusader, but fucking hell leper didnt even survive one DD check, crusader died too but i used fade to black for blind and noxious blast to finish it off
Hey bro, i remember when you made the DD1 video and guides, we come a long way. Sadly, i can't play DD2 because they dont have it for ps4 😢 but i enjoy the video ❤
I got so pissed off dying to this guy. Just getting to the boss seemed like an epic in itself just to get pounded by damage numbers ive never seen in this game before.
How the hell?! This boss act multiple times in its turn. It wiped my whole them but the jester. With some countless deathblow saves, he miraculously managed to kill this abomination. However, I didn't understand how it managed to attack four times on its turn!
Rancid feast is pretty good if you aren't afraid of that blight killing someone. Librarian burn trophy is a safe option, and so is the leviathan trophy that let's you stack more combat items
Seething Sigh next pls. I’m trying to build a perfect all mems roaster and act 2 is my absolute kryptonite as the only confession boss that I didn’t kill first try. I need halp, I just can’t kill that thing consistently.
The ideal strategy is to make sure each team member can do one specific job: One person to do 12 damage to the front lung, eg: Ravager Hellion with damage trinkets. One person to deal 9 damage to the back lung, which some characters can easily cleave with (Warlock Occultist with Artillery, Grapeshot Blast on the Sharpshot path). One person to tank the two hits each turn, including the burns, shuffles and debuffs that'd stop the first two people from doing their job. One person to deal the main damage to the core, and perhaps being able to cover one of the previous three things so you can have some breathing room. As preparation goes, you'll also need to deal with stress, unwanted debuffs and combo tokens. Mineral Water and Holy Water can save you plenty of frustration. Stimulants and Milk Soaked Linen can help too.
God Shuffle i sure hope you see this comment because i sure am glad to see this video! Im so scared of FF that all my heros except MAA are stalled at two memories. Im thinking Rabbit, for health and speed? - My Vestal just got Jinx AND the heal 5 every turn quirk. What would you suggest locking in? And PD also has Jinx. Will that help the fight?
Crusader with Templar can do well. Bulwark and guard, then stunning blow if you risk having strength and crit stolen. Rabbit and tick are among the best. Slime gets debuff resistance too I believe. Jinx is really good in the fight. I think defiant is slightly better so lock that.
@@ShuffleFMHey Shuff! Good news is that I beat FF no problem! Barely an inconvenience! (I even forgot to use a pet for the very first time ever) And still made it!
