Something to remember about the Fisherman's Line is that you don't *have* to pick and choose between the stun and the bleed - The trinket in fact pairs pretty well with a second serrated trinket, such as Clasp Knife (+25% bleed%) and Chirurgeon's Spiked Skullcap. The +melee damage Gnarly Knuckles are also serrated, as are the Tangle's Clenching Claws (Weak/Vuln/Stun when hit). It doesn't neccessarily make Fisherman's Line a top pick, but its versatility is decent.
Was going to mention this myself. I also like to pair with the Spiked Skullcap from Chirurgeon (like you mentioned) which you can get in any zone or Fisherman’s Lure if I get it in the shroud.
Ran it on Surgeon to good effect. Having a chance to do a party-wide stun with mag rain was pretty nice in addition to the potential extra bleed with Incision.
When I first saw the "if x type of item is equipped" stipulation, I thought it ONLY applied to other trinkets, I had to realize later that combat items can be serrated, noxious, etc. It's funny to see that same misunderstanding in the other direction.
Something to take note of about the fishmonger's gloves, as well as the poison ring and tinderbox in this regard, is that the favourite toy memory boosts the on hit DOT effect from 1 for 3 rounds to 2 for 3 rounds, essentially doubling it's power. It may not sound like much, but when PD throws down a mag rain and gets an extra 2 points for 3 rounds on 2-3 enemies, it adds up fast.
@@thiago.leal17 If that's how favorite toy is changed, I'd be okay with it. It's only a tangible nerf to PD since most heros don't have access to other DoTs outside of combat items anyway.
Important thing to note, if you bring the sleeping general trophy that immobilizes you in this fight, it can COMPLETELY mess up your order permanently for the rest of the fight. So if you have A Hellion that wants to use bleed out or iron swan and Dismas in rank 2 gets grabbed, after he comes back, he gets placed in rank 1 instead and the formation gets screwed up.

Gnarly Knuckles (20% Melee damage, +1 Stress when missing a melee attack) are both Weapons and Serrated. Fantastic value for Sprawl considering you're already gonna equip them anyway. Fisherman's Net + GK means the Gold Trinket csn get both it's Stun and Bleed, for example.
Nice overview of the region, appreciated the insight at the trinkets that can drop. Very helpful in determining which region to travel through. Looking forward to checking out the other region guides.
Neat video that helps with the few things I've been missing with Levi. I have been trying since launch to get Beck & Call on a bleed party but either: -Shroud is first region and there's 0 chance of taking on Levi then with this party. Would need all of the drums to be sold at first inn plus some decent combat items to even have a chance with only 2 mastery points and no Sargeant. -Lashing Tides shows up instead, and for some reason my monitor magically gets a fist-sized hole in the middle of it causing me some hardware issues.
The main issue that I have with this area is how rarely I get to pick it. Out of all the areas I feel this one needs a rework at the very least for the trophies provided. Neither are as valuable or gamebreaking as the general or the harvest child ones for instance so if I want to visit this area it's usually as a self challenge once I already have what I need. And that is quite a shame because out of all the areas this one has the most character for me and I really enjoy how difficult it can be particularly earlier on. As always great guide!
Wdym the doble combat item stacking trophy it's really good. Plus the effect of that Trophy stacks with other Stagecoach item. U can get up to 10 restorative ítems, or 4 ítems of any kind. It's arguably the second Best Trophy of the game
I disagree, shroud is my favorite region and its drops are even better. The combat item stacking is huge, I personally use it more than say the immobilize or burn on crit trophies. Being able to bring 4 postules or 4 of the blood is very funny to me. The sodden sweater is goated too, considering most enemies apply bleed and mind you that 3/5 confession bosses causes movement disruption (Seething sigh, Ravenous Reach, and Body of Work). Nautical compass is random but personally provides more good than harm.
@@supersentaimexicano1967 the game already provides you with ample combat items that you can use at your leisure so stockpiling is ill advised. the only ones worth holding onto are the healing ones for the mountain fights but even then in my 400h of playthrough have found myself very rarely needing. I personally do not play much around combat items and I find myself tossing a lot of them away so for my playstyle the combat stacking trophy is redundant compared to the others. The trinkets however are really good but again for frontline ones the tangle ones are better by miles and for backline the shroud or even the foetor ones can also be far more applicable. Again this is my personal opinion but the combat items I find are always far more than enough to get me all the way to the end.
Nautical compass is the big reason to go to the shroud, like how snappy swig is for the sprawl. But, past that, The leviathan's trophies are very strong *if you choose to take advantage of it*. Lashing Tides is just free value if you're not dumping combat items at every node, doubly so if you happen to get one of the many "Produce X before every location" Stagecoach items; Stacking 4 healing salves, 3 triage kits, etc. etc. on your heros, or just 4 blood on tick runs saves a lot of space and provides loads of value on the fights that need them. The Beck and call being busted on a bleed heavy team is simple enough to understand, but taking advantage of it on non-bleed centric teams is as simple as equipping open vein, or incision, or harvest etc. etc.; Even one hero dishing out twice the bleed (Pseudo-doubling their turn) makes it well worth it along with equipping some of the levi-exclusive trinkets.
Had Beck and Call as the only option while trying to traverse the mountain to fight the Ambition boss. Had only HWM for bleed, but I took my chances. Ended up demolishing the boss, stacked up bleed with tokens and extra turns by Encore. Thought for sure that I was done for after having to put that trophy on.
Feel free to criticize this tactic because I'll happily accept advice, but I've found Controlled Burn to be incredibly effective against the Leviathan, namely by placing it in the front rank so it can alternate between Levi and the Hand. Also, Consecration of Fortitude on Barnacle covered positions so that whoever is there doesn't keep getting throttled about.
1 is fine. Any more than that and it gets risky but the rewards are good. 2 is doable consistently with some experience. 3 has a lot of factors before it's even manageable
Beck and Call is really awesome in combination with the Sodden Sweater. The downside is huge yes, but thankfully the same boss drops the ultimate answer to its downside. Once I got it in act 4 I changed my PD to Surgeon and she just wrecked the rest of the act alongside the Yellowhand HWM. Put the sweater on my sergeant MaA who just soaked all the hits and PD could cure any off bleeds that might have happened. Sounds a bit odd to use in act 4 yes, but the poor boss didn't get more than a few turns in its last phase. Its also fairly easy to become very anti bleed through other means, like hospitals are constantly pumping out Clotting Poultices and the aforementioned Sergeant MaA that is pretty much made for hunting down Leviathan gives resistances to rest of the team.
Sodden sweater on any frontline is basically a free heal on most non-region locked fight. All the "Road" factions have bleed, Oblivion fights usually have 2 evangelists and both size 2 cultists bleed. Past the odd stress/heal and resists it gives, if you wrap your friendly ravager in this, you have budget defiant.
Can Leviathan still undertow multiple targets or has that been patched out? I remember a run in early days of DD2 where I wouldn't manage to kill the hand and it would undertow again, and I would lose another hero, and then another... and then I just died. That was the most dreadful experience I've had in the game.
Shroud is a big no-go for any movement-sensitive teams, but past that it's personally no harder than the one-shot haven that is the tangle. The only thing making the tangle less dangerous is that the general's gimmick is only prone to leaving your characters at high stress, whereas leviathan is gonna leave you with Stress, low health, and trauma from missing 5 attacks in a row because of leviathan's breath while death's door checking your backliners... but past that, the non-lair boss fish are pretty manageable.
@@josh___something It just feels so much more punishing to get hit by rng in the shroud. The enemies push, pull, and stack tokens much more often here than the Tangle. The difference in my opinion is that the enemies in the tangle usually need someone to enable them to make them super scary and they’re not usually super tanky.
