  • In this guide, I talk about the Leper. It covers everything from his skills and paths to trinkets and teams. One thing I did forget since it's so easy to miss is that under the "Conditions" tab, you can see that Leper has a % chance at the start of combat to get 1 or 2 blind tokens. So if he starts blinded and you're confused, that's why :P

And that is very difficult to do with a dead weight Leper. Can spam vulnerable with Intimidate on the Librarian (and take away the dodge tokens) for sure, but the rest are just too rough. I've only just unlocked all his skills, Leper either seems to be quite mediocre or with the right items/buffs pretty damn strong (e.g. critting 50-60's on the regular)
    The trinket that gives +66% crit when you are blinded is pretty nuts on him, though most stained items are eh. Usually take stun or bleed resist.

  • @zombieboss5178
    @zombieboss5178 Год назад +7

    personally I think Leper should also ignore blind if he has a token of some sort, maybe this could be changed via a trinket, so a whole move/s isn't overbuffed.
    For example one trinket could allow Leper to ignore blind if he has a strength token, but the downside to this trinket is that strength no longer increases his damage by 50% (and maybe have a second upside that makes combo tokens increase his damage by 50% instead :/)

    Don't know if you already covered this topic, but I would like to see a video where you talk about the gameplay differences between DD1 and DD2 and your opinion on them, such as campaign progression (such as 5 chapters instead of one big campaign and the carriage vs dungeon topic), characters and Hamlet/altar progression (difference between altar and Hamlet as permanent upgrades and how you unlock new abilities and upgrades for heroes) and core combat ( such as removal of dodge, acc and prot in exchange of tokens and combo, enemies deathblow resist and more corpses interactions) and maybe other stuff like trinkets and enemies combat design.
    You certainly see all the time people saying how bad DD2 is compared to the first game, but the truth is that it is a very different yet familiar structure and gameplay, and the combat feels weirdly much more complex and simple (or straight forward) at the same time.
    I really like the difference between the 2 games, and I don't think any is superior than the other, both are enjoyable with different but familiar structures and design, but I would like to see your opinion on it and see what people think of this topic

    I might be weird, but I prefer Poet path over Tempest, and for these reasons: 1) Poet can tank, self heal and stress heal incredibly effectively - I mean, you almost never attack (I don't count Intimidate), but he's close to immortal and the rest of the group can chill out and even the healers and stress healers can focus more on dmg. 2) You almost never lose a round by being stunned or moved, which is the most annoying thing. 3) He works better with any group, because he doesn't need that much support as Tempest. He does everything he needs himself - but I do recommend to group up with Nightsworn, because speedy Repartee makes him even better tank.

    be aware Cruel intent (blind gives crit) is kinda bad on Tempest path because of the debuff resist, it feels like you only get a blind about half or a third of the time and then crit only 70% of those. If you got 2 alternative trinkets for 30-40% more damage it's going to be way more consistent with less need for marking enemies.

He's still a great tank with health easily in the 40s or 50s with food, and the intimidate spam makes sure everyone is weakened and attacking him. Plus speed in cultist fights is great if you just know not to use slow trinkets on him

    Watching this made me realize how in the current state of the game tanks are not very efficient outside road fights. There are so many aoes and multi turns per round that even with taunt you can't really tank all hits. Yes you consolidate damage somewhat but then it pushes you to heal the tank more often forcing two players (healer and tank) to not deal damage as a result.

    Ruin doesn't add up mathematically for me. So you lose 1 turn of dealing damage because you used ruin, which is equal to 100% of a dmg skill. And instead you get 3 turns +20% dmg which is in total 60% of extra dmg, which is less than the 100% if you'd just use a dmg skill instead. Did I miss something?

    First and foremost, friendship with Monarch ended, Tempest Old King's Court (Jestal-MAA-LEP) gang rise up. Man, that's upsetting, I always thought 100% damage bonus overrides the regular decrease. Why would you run a situational +25% when there's a constant +33%? Not to mention Lair Bosses ain't considered Cosmic. Genuinely hope that's an ovelooked coding error by RedHook and not the intended behaviour, cause the latter is Yellowhand levels of stupid
    Disagree a tiny bit with Intimidate, new Sluice is spooky enough to sometimes warrant an upgrade + Wharf Rats also go into stealth. Not saying prioritizing Intimidate upgrade over, say, Solemnity is better, but it has its place depending on who you run with Baldwin, mostly (usually should be either a Tracking shot, Hearthlight or Illuminate alongside him to remove the need for upgrading).
    Considering how Ruin's +DMG buff tooltip is misleading ATM and only works for 3 turns instead of 1 Battle (Red Hook pls either fix description or make it 1 use battle-long), the best way to use Encore on leper is after he's used his natural 3rd turn, assuming you popped Ruin as Leper's very first action. This way, Ruin has already come off cooldown, but Ruin's buff didn't expire yet and thus gets a 6 turn duration with a second use. Got some dummy big damage that way on Denial locks before they remade Infernal torch being 1 flame at all times and Lurker got useless as a perk
    Also, off-topic question: do you know what's the base scouting chance is and does Childish Shamblino put it into negative values? Been wondeing if getting Unabridged Edition evens it out or not

      After the first turn(or ON the first turn, if you have a combat item to waste a blind), Tempest leper can just cruise through most fights without needing more combo. Chop+ 60% blind + Leper's 53/63%* debuff res + 50% hit chance on blind = 90% hit chance for the succeeding hits, more if you have burner combat items like linseed oil and caltrops, or just milk rags.
