Leper is one of the coolest looking characters. I wonder what happened to the Abomination. Such a fucking cool idea and so well done on DD1. Anyone would know and would mind replying?
My current 'slap team' is Vestal, Dismas, Jester, Leper with Dismas opening 90% fights with upgraded riposte move. Love em, got me through act two no problem currently slapping away act 3 in first try, mid way through.
Currently running that team myself. Although I think I prefer Doctor, Robber, Jester, Leper set up more after playing it. Grave robber's pirouette and corpse clearing by dead of night is so useful for keeping Leper constantly fighting Plague doctor for healing away blindness if I can't use Jester for whatever reason via stun, daze, etc along with DOT What's your Dismas set up? I'm finding that he keeps on pushing Leper out of position one by riposte. Leper gets pushed to position two, then Jester at position 3 activates due to high speed and then I have to make a decision to either advance and set up Finale while forgoing Leper turn, or I force the leper back in with battle ballad or encoring Dismas. It always feels like I'm giving up something.
@@HellecticMojo I put highway man at 3rd spot and start 99% of fights with the riposte move. Makes him go forward to 2nd, Jester takes 3rd. IF leper gets blind or every 3-4 turns Id do jesters melee that moves him forward and mark the target. Then Dismas is back in 3rd and ready for next riposte set up.
be aware Cruel intent (blind gives crit) is kinda bad on Tempest path because of the debuff resist, it feels like you only get a blind about half or a third of the time and then crit only 70% of those. If you got 2 alternative trinkets for 30-40% more damage it's going to be way more consistent with less need for marking enemies.
I didn't realize the Monarch reduced damage for chop outside of cultist encounters. I really need to read these paths more carefully, I thought was low rolling every time
Im using HWM with Tracking Shot and its pretty gud, but haven't tried any other heroes yet Monarch Leper is good but you need to carry him to the end, when he becomes an absolute beast Long live the king
So would flag be a strong teammate because with one of his paths he can take negative tokens from his teammates and then sepsis them onto others, plus he has stress heals, strong healing, and dots for strong dps support, plus taunt for when leper needs to heal
I love monarch leper, he's carried a few of my runs, and i completely disagree that he's dead weight in normal fights. He's still a great tank with health easily in the 40s or 50s with food, and the intimidate spam makes sure everyone is weakened and attacking him. Plus speed in cultist fights is great if you just know not to use slow trinkets on him
I agree. My dislike comes from my muscle memory needing to flip. I end up forgetting to use chop on cosmic first round or use chop on normies first round and feel like a colossal doofus.
Perfect time for me. Literally playing with Leper, Flag, Vestal, and Plague doctor. Maniac Flag to take away his blinds and stick them on enemies and Seraph Vestal to give him crit
Wow i never realized movement resist was so bad in dd2. 30 seems to be the max across all characters without paths. I wouldn't actually call his bad because he upgrades later to normal move resist.
Had a fun run where i built around my jester largely, runaways smokebomb was a carry since i could ignore blinds and when i couldn't id just lasha's gift with flag, worked well enough but far from a meta build
The team i run with leper is jester ocultist runaway and leper ocultist being able to get rid of corpses and get a backliner on front and putting a combo is perfect for leper
I owe my first clear of Denial to Leper. Got cultist trinket that gives 66% crit at the cost of constant blind. I had Jester on the team with Leper. 'nough said.
Watching this made me realize how in the current state of the game tanks are not very efficient outside road fights. There are so many aoes and multi turns per round that even with taunt you can't really tank all hits. Yes you consolidate damage somewhat but then it pushes you to heal the tank more often forcing two players (healer and tank) to not deal damage as a result.
Speaking of the Monarch path as “dead weight,” sure. But what’s to keep you from spending 32 relics just before the mountain region, assigning Monarch just when it’s most useful?
why is break a bad move? it seems like a great way to deal with armor. deal normal attack damage while removing all armor tokens, other options require a damage-less turn (like occ hex) or just doing partial damage to remove tokens one at a time.
@@ShuffleFM armors easy to ignore but i find negating it can rlly help damage efficiency, i see 3+ enemies per area with >1 armor tokens, would rather risk blind than be forced to have multiple attacks debuffed. Thanks for reply
Just ran a GR - MAA - Flag - Leper combo just for fun but ended up killing all region bosses in one run ._. Currently at the mountain with this team but I have high hopes since this team turned antiquarian fight into a pillow slap from the pillagers. And there's extra mastery points i can't spend to add to that I just set up my leper so that there was no way he could get the blind token (about 98% debuff resist with the path and trinket choices, and more with reflection ofc) and oh, +10% extra crit chance. It's nice having a Leper slap a +/-50 DMG crit two turns in a row after Ruin
@@ShuffleFM i know bud. I just got around to watching the vid though...lol. haven't seen anyone mention yet but I guess you'd have to bank on getting that trinket with the comp already set up.
First and foremost, friendship with Monarch ended, Tempest Old King's Court (Jestal-MAA-LEP) gang rise up. Man, that's upsetting, I always thought 100% damage bonus overrides the regular decrease. Why would you run a situational +25% when there's a constant +33%? Not to mention Lair Bosses ain't considered Cosmic. Genuinely hope that's an ovelooked coding error by RedHook and not the intended behaviour, cause the latter is Yellowhand levels of stupid Disagree a tiny bit with Intimidate, new Sluice is spooky enough to sometimes warrant an upgrade + Wharf Rats also go into stealth. Not saying prioritizing Intimidate upgrade over, say, Solemnity is better, but it has its place depending on who you run with Baldwin, mostly (usually should be either a Tracking shot, Hearthlight or Illuminate alongside him to remove the need for upgrading). Considering how Ruin's +DMG buff tooltip is misleading ATM and only works for 3 turns instead of 1 Battle (Red Hook pls either fix description or make it 1 use battle-long), the best way to use Encore on leper is after he's used his natural 3rd turn, assuming you popped Ruin as Leper's very first action. This way, Ruin has already come off cooldown, but Ruin's buff didn't expire yet and thus gets a 6 turn duration with a second use. Got some dummy big damage that way on Denial locks before they remade Infernal torch being 1 flame at all times and Lurker got useless as a perk Also, off-topic question: do you know what's the base scouting chance is and does Childish Shamblino put it into negative values? Been wondeing if getting Unabridged Edition evens it out or not
Ruin doesn't add up mathematically for me. So you lose 1 turn of dealing damage because you used ruin, which is equal to 100% of a dmg skill. And instead you get 3 turns +20% dmg which is in total 60% of extra dmg, which is less than the 100% if you'd just use a dmg skill instead. Did I miss something?
My man Shuff disrespecting Break, how could you? I've been hitting like the 20s on Break through Block+, something which the rest of Leper's kit can't do. I mean, with how much more prevalent Block has become on Cultist fights compared to before, it's really important to chew through quickly for fast kills.

ive been using poet leper/examinate flag/grave robber/alchemist pd as a big dot team while leper spams withstand and bash to tank, its been doing really well
Grave Robber- Surgeon PD - Runaway - Leper here. Rainbow DOTs everywhere. Absolutely massacred the first act boss.
I used this team for the Grand Slam Achievement. 10/10. Highly reccomended
Grave robber's pirouette and corpse clearing by dead of night is so useful for keeping Leper constantly fighting
Plague doctor for healing away blindness if I can't use Jester for whatever reason via stun, daze, etc along with DOT
What's your Dismas set up?
The Giga Chad of Darkest Dungeon has returned
Why would you prefer to take Runaway over Plague Doctor? Asking out of curiosity I just started playing
be aware Cruel intent (blind gives crit) is kinda bad on Tempest path because of the debuff resist, it feels like you only get a blind about half or a third of the time and then crit only 70% of those. If you got 2 alternative trinkets for 30-40% more damage it's going to be way more consistent with less need for marking enemies.
I mean... Correct? The debuff resist does end up close to 66 (2/3)
I didn't realize the Monarch reduced damage for chop outside of cultist encounters. I really need to read these paths more carefully, I thought was low rolling every time
Occultist I feel is also good with leper because he can mark enemies and also debuff them with weakness and the 50%more damage.
Im using HWM with Tracking Shot and its pretty gud, but haven't tried any other heroes yet
Monarch Leper is good but you need to carry him to the end, when he becomes an absolute beast
Long live the king
So would flag be a strong teammate because with one of his paths he can take negative tokens from his teammates and then sepsis them onto others, plus he has stress heals, strong healing, and dots for strong dps support, plus taunt for when leper needs to heal
Oh yes definitely. Shuff said this too on stream, don't know why it didn't make it into the video though.
Leper w/ MaA, Runaway, and Jester actually sounds really fun
Good to see Leper is no longer "chop + solemnity" the character lol
Perfect time for me. Literally playing with Leper, Flag, Vestal, and Plague doctor. Maniac Flag to take away his blinds and stick them on enemies and Seraph Vestal to give him crit
Who's stress healing?
I really like running Maniac Flagellant with him and just removing his Blind with Lash's Gift.
Hoping for vestal soon, her bonk setup seems kinda crazy on paper
Wow i never realized movement resist was so bad in dd2. 30 seems to be the max across all characters without paths. I wouldn't actually call his bad because he upgrades later to normal move resist.
Leper clutch 80 dmg with chop is the most beatiful thing i've seen in this game
Had a fun run where i built around my jester largely, runaways smokebomb was a carry since i could ignore blinds and when i couldn't id just lasha's gift with flag, worked well enough but far from a meta build
The team i run with leper is jester ocultist runaway and leper
ocultist being able to get rid of corpses and get a backliner on front and putting a combo is perfect for leper
the legend of chad thundercock continues
I owe my first clear of Denial to Leper. Got cultist trinket that gives 66% crit at the cost of constant blind. I had Jester on the team with Leper. 'nough said.
Make vids like this for every character right now please. Thanks I’ll wait
The Chad, the KING, THE MAN!
I like to pair leper with a maniac flagellant to steal debuffs as well as combo
Tank Leper is probably my favorite playstyle for him.
with what skills?
On blind I typically just pop Ruin for that turn. I typically run Vestal, Jester, Runaway, and Chad.
Self blind to remove armor when there aren't too many instances of it being critically important
@@ShuffleFM armors easy to ignore but i find negating it can rlly help damage efficiency, i see 3+ enemies per area with >1 armor tokens, would rather risk blind than be forced to have multiple attacks debuffed. Thanks for reply
After 1.0 and changes to cultists break is now actually really good, you should try it
Poet is spamming bash mpnarch still sucks
I just use the milk soaked linen for leper works like a charm
Leper likes the censer trinkets a lot imo
Very good video and good insight. please make one for flag as well.
Already did :) ruclips.net/video/mBkP0AiWrTc/видео.html
Just ran a GR - MAA - Flag - Leper combo just for fun but ended up killing all region bosses in one run ._. Currently at the mountain with this team but I have high hopes since this team turned antiquarian fight into a pillow slap from the pillagers. And there's extra mastery points i can't spend to add to that
I just set up my leper so that there was no way he could get the blind token (about 98% debuff resist with the path and trinket choices, and more with reflection ofc) and oh, +10% extra crit chance. It's nice having a Leper slap a +/-50 DMG crit two turns in a row after Ruin
What´s with the little skull icons over some of the characters at the bottom?
I run from back to front grave robber, plauge doctor, highwayman, and leper
I love leper ngl, i think my highest hit with him was 79 crit i believe, so satisfying
Honestly, my hot take is that there is never a reason to NOT have Solemnity. It's just SO good.
Hail to the king!
One time I got a trait where he loses all debuff tokens at the start of a turn if I have 25 relics
Great video as always and even greater with timestamps hahaha!
Been wanting to run cruel intentionally leper with duelist ignore blind skill. Seems more consistent than combo
Duelist didn't exist when I made this :P
@@ShuffleFM i know bud. I just got around to watching the vid though...lol. haven't seen anyone mention yet but I guess you'd have to bank on getting that trinket with the comp already set up.
First and foremost, friendship with Monarch ended, Tempest Old King's Court (Jestal-MAA-LEP) gang rise up. Man, that's upsetting, I always thought 100% damage bonus overrides the regular decrease. Why would you run a situational +25% when there's a constant +33%? Not to mention Lair Bosses ain't considered Cosmic. Genuinely hope that's an ovelooked coding error by RedHook and not the intended behaviour, cause the latter is Yellowhand levels of stupid
Disagree a tiny bit with Intimidate, new Sluice is spooky enough to sometimes warrant an upgrade + Wharf Rats also go into stealth.
Got some dummy big damage that way on Denial locks before they remade Infernal torch being 1 flame at all times and Lurker got useless as a perk
Also, off-topic question: do you know what's the base scouting chance is and does Childish Shamblino put it into negative values? Been wondeing if getting Unabridged Edition evens it out or not
Unabridged specifically negates Shambly's downside. So it returns you to base scout chance.
@@josh___something Ayy nice, thanks
Ruin doesn't add up mathematically for me. So you lose 1 turn of dealing damage because you used ruin, which is equal to 100% of a dmg skill. And instead you get 3 turns +20% dmg which is in total 60% of extra dmg, which is less than the 100% if you'd just use a dmg skill instead. Did I miss something?
He can get hit multiple times and charge it. Ruin+ also bleeds him to stack it higher. It can get to 100% or high during 1 use
sraph vestal and any occultist
make him a powerhouse
Long live the king
Can he resist his own blind? If yes how does it work? if i upgrade chop and give him 60%+ debuff resistance does this mean he can't blind himself?
He can resist it. It's a normal debuff resist check, so 100-resist
@@ShuffleFM Thanks!
My man Shuff disrespecting Break, how could you? I've been hitting like the 20s on Break through Block+, something which the rest of Leper's kit can't do. I mean, with how much more prevalent Block has become on Cultist fights compared to before, it's really important to chew through quickly for fast kills.
hay i notice that Leper might have this flesh eating sickness in germany we call it "Lepra". Miiiight be the cause of his non existent reistences....imean you can pull the flesh right off , poor guy
You forgot an amazing ATIQ trinket, that at the start of turn removes negative token
True!
You dont need to clear his blind, its better bring people who give combo, especially if you get the trinket that gives you crit bonuses if youre blind.
Fog before Sunrise
I hope next video with Highwayman and You it will be just 10 second video with telling you to pick Sharpshoot and spam take aim with pistol shot lol.
Long live Baldwin IV the Leper King!!
Seems like Monarch is a great commander.
How to play the leper: CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP
